Jolie has never been campy. :confused:

I'd call Tomb Raider and Sky Captain pretty campy.

I know she'd bring a different approach to TDK but I still can't see her doing it right. One you dress her up in a cat-suit the movie becomes standard comic book fare. (on a minor note, it will also confirm every prejudice about comic geeks and spandex ladies!)

People complaining that they're bringing in characters from the comics into a comic movie is ridiculous.

That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying they shouldn't bring characters into movies exactly as they are in comics.

I don't care what anyone says, Batman Begins is standard comic book fare. Deal with it.

The tone is set by the writers and director. If the character wants to be taken seriously, that's up to the script. The actor then follows this guideline, albeit interjecting a little bit of their own interpretation. I'm not trying to rag on you, but I don't get what you mean by campy. At all. :confused:

I prefer the first pic more because I think it fits closer with a Nolan-esque look for the Joker. The second one is very well done, but I find it far too reminiscent of the B89 Joker and probably won't be close to the look Ledger has in THE DARK KNIGHT.

If you're referring to the person in the wheelchair, it's from a picture I found in an image search using the keyword "tetanus," so I assume it's someone with tetanus. I got the idea to do such a search after someone mentioned the risus sardonicus, a symptom of tetanus that results from sustained spasms of the facial muscles.

The manipulation is good, but Ledger's nose is really too broad for him to be seen as The Joker rather than a man with a white face and green hair. They need a cunning prosthetic, I feel.

One of the things I have noticed while doing many of my Ledger manips is how much of a difference changing the eye color can make in his appearance. In many of the pictures that I have seen of him, he has dark eyes. As a result, his pupils don't stand out. For some reason, I have always found tiny pupils creepy. I think by lightening the color of the iris it gives the illusion that the pupils are smaller in relation to the rest of the eye. Something as minor as contact lenses could go a long way in making Heath look creepier.
Also, if anyone would like to give any of these heads a body, feel free to do so.

No it isn't. Black mask used to wear a mask made from a coffin lid until the late 90s, ( http://www.home.earthlink.net/~schaatzie/Mask2.jpg ) when he dispensed with it and bore his burns openly until his death a few months ago. ( http://www.dccomics.com/media/products/3101_180x270.jpg ) It is the more modern appearance that the manip replicates.

Nice. He actually looks pretty creepy there. I'd tone the red down a little tho. You're right about the eyes, even in the comics he's usually drawn with tiny pupils.

Looks good. What filter did you use on the face?

It's a new filter set called Filter Forge. They have a Comic Book Filter that I played with the settings until it was just right. Then I adjusted the selective color with the yellow and red to make her look more like a comic book.

Filter Forge it only free for 30 days thou. I might have to buy this one.

He is easily my favourite candidate for the role. I very much do not want to see Jamie Foxx get it. I wouldn't mind him as someone like Hush or Black Mask in a future film but definately not Two-Face. Liev Scheiber would be my fall back if Eion didn't get the part.

I was on YouTube searching for Ledger vids, just to see how he actually talked normally....and damn that dude has an extremely deep voice from when I last remembered him in his teen days. He also seems to keep his mouth closed a lot even when he's speaking ala his BM character.

LR is only reporting him being in the mix, and that they haven't really decided yet. So if LR is on the ball, which i have a feeling they are, that still doesn't guarantee he's Dent. He's probably one of several names, including Foxx and Norton.

Still, it didn't sound like anything at all conclusive - in fact, it seemed like something where he was approached just to gauge interest and things never developed beyond that stage.

Eckhart is a good actor, but I don't see him as Dent, I want the big, imposing character of TAS, who was a large person and persona with a deep voice, although I thin kit could still come off nicely, I still think Tommy Lee Jones could have been good with a decent script etc....
I don't want a TAS sort of Dent - he's too bulky for me. I want something akin to the LONG HALLOWEEN Dent, which is my favorite portrayal to date. I could see Eckhart in that mold.

Pheonix, Norton, Owen, are all still higher on my list than Eckhart though.

He needs to cover his blonde hair IMO.

I don't want a TAS sort of Dent - he's too bulky for me. I want something akin to the LONG HALLOWEEN Dent, which is my favorite portrayal to date. I could see Eckhart in that mold.

I like TAS Dent, his whole duel personality before he even became Twoface makes for a real interesting story.. but I do agree that the Long Halloween Dent was awesome, IF Eckhart gets the part I hope he can pull it off

Why would Dent need to be physically imposing? Two-Face doesn't go toe-to-toe with Bats.

Well, THE LONG HALLOWEEN doesn't really come out and say it, but the implication is that the dual personality was there before his scarring.

And anyway, TAS Dent wasn't the first to pull that whole dual personality shtick - see the story "Eye of the Beholder" (Batman Annual #14). They did it first, and THE LONG HALLOWEEN borrows a lot from the story, and in some ways, "Eye of the Beholder" is better than LONG HALLOWEEN and explores Dent's abuse at the hands of his father.
