With Sapp turning down a $1,000,00 deal with WWE, why would he even consider wanting to go to TNA? I doubt TNA would offer the same amount. And what would it do for Sapp anyways? I doubt that's going to happen....
- Mike Johnson reports that TNA is looking to boost the number of extras found on the DVDs for their PPV events. New things such as exclusive pre and post match interviews, music videos and bonus matches will be implemented soon.
- TNA has backed off in talking with Bob Sapp about a possible match with Kurt Angle after receiving a legal letter from K-1. Sapp is under contract to K-1 and they want promotions to go through them when trying to book him.
- Simon Diamond, Jerry Lynn, and Shane Douglas were suspended as agents from the last set of tapings for turning in their agent reports late and being to easy on the talent. The tapings were said to have gone smoother without them in charge.
- Konnan has been put on a very strict diet by the doctors. He has been told no alcahol, no salt, no dairy products and to keep his protein intake low. TNA has been in constant contact with him almost on a daily basis to make sure he is doing ok.

Evidence of Russo…
PLUS: New Year's Revolution Roundtable results.
Vince Russo. The mere mention of this man's name evokes a strong reaction from most hardcore wrestling fans. Is he the guy who created WWF's "Attitude Era", including the Stone Cold phenomenon, and single handedly turned the company around in 1996? Did he ruin WCW, and was he solely responsible for it's demise?
Most insiders will agree that he's neither. Russo suggested tons of edgy, outrageous ideas to Vince McMahon in the mid to late 1990s, many of which were terrible. Being the man he is, McMahon took the few innovative ideas of Russo's he liked, tweaked them, and made them his own. However, he tossed the bulk of them back. Russo contributed to the change in "Attitude" in WWF, but certainly wasn't responsible for it. Considering the fighter that McMahon is, he would have figured out the direction to go in order to compete with WCW and their ultra-popular nWo angle, even without Russo. That's because McMahon was losing, and he doesn't like to lose. It didn't take Vince Russo to get McMahon thinking outside the box and change his product.
WCW was on its last legs and slowly dying before Russo ever made the jump. His negative influences and horrible creative decisions, while possibly among the last nails in the coffin of WCW, didn't cause the company's death. WCW managed to make it to death's doorstep quite nicely without Russo. Fans are justified when they growl and moan about Russo putting the heavyweight championship on David Arquette, and then later on himself, but that didn't shut WCW's doors.
So what is Vince Russo all about? For that answer, one need only take a look at Total Nonstop Action Wrestling lately, because Russo's fingerprints are all over the product since he returned to the booking committee.
TODAY'S ISSUE: Vince Russo's Footprint in TNA
The first evidence I noticed of Russo's involvement in the creative process was the many high-profile heel and face turns. AJ Styles, who more than anyone embodies TNA, was recently turned heel and began feuding with Rhino. Styles has been a popular babyface for quite some time, and while his heel act appears to be effective, it came about with no real warning, and no indication from a character standpoint. We'll have to wait and see if this sudden shift in philosophy helps or hurts the triple-crown winner.
Abyss is clearly in some sort of moral quandary these days, with Sting working to bring him towards the light, and James Mitchell clutching Abyss' leg, trying to keep him in the darkness and under his control. The other part of Abyss' pseudo-face turn is the back-story we're just learning. You know, the one that Tomko seems to know a bit about, and Mitchell has been using to manipulate Abyss. Seeing Abyss tremble and shriek in fear outside what looked like a prison or mental asylum means that there's more to come in this unnecessary arc, and I'll wager Russo doesn't even know what that "more" is yet. I won't hold my breath that the outcome will be anything good. This type of poorly written D-movie "drama" is right down Russo's alley.
Last time we saw the Naturals on iMPACT!, they showed a decidedly heelish edge as well, right around the same time their long-time arch rivals, AMW, started acting like faces in their short war against LAX, the dominant heel team in the company. The Naturals and AMW practically own TNA's tag team history from the beginning, and each team has played both sides of the heel/face fence at one time or another. Perhaps Russo's plan was to breathe a little life into the feud one more time via a double turn?
Well, that idea was blown away by another staple of Russo's booking, the tag team split. Sure, AMW has been teasing a feud for a long time, and perhaps it was due. Maybe the time has come to see what Harris and Storm can do against each other, and then against fresh singles opponents. But you'll notice the actual break-up didn't happen until after Russo got his hands back on the book. If there's one thing Vinny Ru can't handle, it's a tag team that gets along and enjoys long-term success with no friction. He's just got to get in there and break those bastards up! Russo's been accused in the past of putting new teams together just so he can plan the break-up and feud. Clearly, he's got something against consistent partners and teams who don't hate each other.
Speaking of former partners and old teammates, the newly renamed Voodoo Kin Mafia are currently engaged in a deluxe Russo specialty, the attack of your "competition", supposedly against WWE's D-Generation X. Of course, the former New Age Outlaws were prominent members of several different incarnations of DX for years during their WWF days, but haven't reached that level of success in TNA. So what do they do? They lash out at DX, who are currently riding a nostalgic wave of success.
Does anything come across as more pathetic than a challenge made to a group that will never accept? It's like a local garage band inviting K.I.S.S. to a battle of the bands in a small youth annex in a tiny hick town, then trumpeting their "victory" when the painted ones fail to show up. It just calls attention to how bush league you are by reminding everyone about the other options available.
It was cutting edge and risky television when DX invaded WCW Nitro events about ten years ago, but things were very different. These two companies were much closer to being on the same level than WWE and TNA are today. Also, DX were big stars gaining a lot of publicity for WWF with their "attacks" in the war. Fast forward to the present, and VKM aren't quite the stars they must perceive themselves to be, and nobody from WWE could care less if these two want to don ponchos and go to San Antonio. I can only imagine Vince McMahon's lack of concern over VKM's tirades. TNA should concentrate on making its own product better, and not worry about what DX is doing on Monday nights.
One positive effect of Russo's influence on TNA's product is that he feels strongly about developing ALL the characters on the roster, not just the main eventers. Petey Williams displayed a lot of personality and character growth in his face turn prompted by LAX during their attempt to burn a US flag. Williams' turn is one I won't complain about, because it was logical, and it was the result of a very powerful storyline involving a radical group of America haters. Petey didn't change sides on a whim.
Brother Runt is also a beneficiary of Russo's approach to character development up and down the card. His aggressive nature and possible drinking issues suit him well, and I look forward to seeing how his character grows over the next few months. Matt Hyson is a consistently hard worker, who must have an unbelievable pain tolerance, considering the crazy bumps he takes on his considerably small frame. So any time Creative makes good use of him it's cool with me. I'll give credit to Russo for this particular philosophy of his.
More evidence of Russo's handiwork is the de-emphasizing of in-ring action. TNA is in the position it's in now because fans appreciate their superior action between the ropes compared to WWE, but Russo always makes the squared circle secondary. What was the result of the main event on last week's iMPACT! between Christian Cage and Kurt Angle? Oh, that's right. The match didn't happen because Samoa Joe and Angle were busy battling each other. TNA still could have demonstrated the hatred between the Samoan Submission Machine and the Olympic Gold Medallist, and also given us a proper main event in the ring on that broadcast. Just book somebody else against Cage, and show Joe and Angle brawling before and after commercial breaks. That would have worked out just fine.
What about Russo's favorite, the item-on-a-pole match? That gimmick didn't take too long to rear its ugly head, did it? And what's worse, the nightstick-on-a-pole match between Abyss, Christian Cage, and Sting did not determine a #1 contender as it was originally intended to. Instead, all three men will vie for the ten pounds of gold at Final Resolution. More Russo ADHD on display there; he tells the fans that a match will have certain consequences, and then with no reasonable explanation, it doesn't. That's really poor storytelling and continuity.
Looking at the above evidence of Vince Russo's influence on the current TNA product, you'll notice I only supported one item, the fleshing out of characters for undercard performers. Everything else he does usually winds up hurting whatever company he writes for as far as I'm concerned. Hopefully Panda Energy and the Jarretts will keep Russo on a short leash, and let him do what he does best: contribute lots of crazy ideas to somebody who's strong enough to keep him in check and separate the wheat from the chaff.

I see TNA as now the pre-nWo WCW...a distant second to McMahonland. And if TNA is smart, they'll realise that themselves and let the company progress naturally, and maybe eventually they'll become real competition someday. But they're so far from being competition at the moment that it's almost sad.
- The George Michael Sports Machine television show will air a story on TNA’s Kurt Angle this Saturday. Check your local listings for air times in your market.
- TNA superstar Konnan is scheduled to undergo his hip replacement surgery today in Mexico. He currently does not have medical insurance; therefore donations are being accepted for his future kidney transplant. Donations are being accepted through PayPal at the email address GetWellKonnan@aol.com. Get Well cards and letters can be sent to PO Box 140573, Howard Beach, NY 11414-0573. On behalf of the entire LordsOfPain.net staff, we wish Konnan the best.
- SpikeTV will be running a preview for Final Resolution Saturday night at mindnight, following the replay of iMPACT.
- Chris Harris will be making his first storyline appearance since the breakup of America’s Most Wanted during an interview on this week’s iMPACT. We could possibly see a match between Harris and James Storm at Sunday’s Final Resolution pay-per-view.

TNA is competition to ECW. But...that's not what they are aiming for me thinks.

- As reported elsewhere, TNA management made a decision recently to stop paying for hotel rooms for their wrestlers. This decision was announced at the last TV tapings before the holiday break and it reportedly caused outrage among wrestlers.
BG James was one of the only wrestlers who spoke out about the decision. James reportedly called Jeff Jarrett, Dixie Carter and Terry Taylor over the matter and threatened to quit. James has had a history of doing this before with TNA and people within management didn't take him that seriously.
This new decision by TNA was done as a cost-cutting measure, which will end up saving the company around $120 per wrestler for a two night stay at a hotel in Orlando. TNA wrestlers are required to fly in a day early so flight delays can't cause a problem. What makes this situation interesting is that wrestlers who are paid $300 per shot with TNA, they will now have to pay out of their pocket for a hotel room that will usually run them $100-$120 a night. While some talent may opt to stay at a cheaper hotel and take a shuttle to Universal Studios, it will still take at least $100 out of every wrestlers pay. This definitely wasn't good news to those talent who are only getting paid $300 to begin with. It should be noted that some within TNA management pointed out that WWE wrestlers are required to pay for their own hotel rooms. In response, some TNA talent noted that the only difference is that WWE wrestlers get paid much more and can afford it.

Maybe they should focus on the product, thus getting higher ratings and the two hour show from Spike. Then go on the damn road for PPV's at least. Why does TNA even have to have free tapings and PPV? Can't they charge at least 5 bucks per person? I'm sure the 900 peeps that go to the tapings could afford that. TNA would make $4,500 if they did this.

They can't charge for the attendance.
Since they are all done in Universal Studios, people already paid for admission to get into the park.
Recap of TNA’s January conference call with announcer Don West.
- Don said her prefers calling the live PPV events as opposed to the taped Impact shows. On the live PPVs he says he can kind of settle down and tell more stories. Where as on the taped 1 hour Impact shows where you don’t have as much time you can’t really do that since your trying to get over so many things including the next PPV all at once.
- He said getting on primetime TV was always their goal.
- Don mentioned that there were times back in 02 and 03 that they would be off for a few weeks and they would all wonder including himself if the company was dead or not. So to see how far TNA has come is just amazing to him.
- He didn’t see last nights Raw because he was watching the BCS game. He read about how bad Raw was online and hearing that the fans chanted TNA during the show makes him smile. He said it not only sends a message to the WWE but it makes fans who have yet to discover TNA ask questions and wonder just what exactly is TNA.
- He was pulling for Florida last night because he got sick of how biased ESPN was being towards Ohio State.
- He said The Rock N Wrestling era in the 80’s is when he started getting into wrestling. But what really got him into it was the Monday Night Wars in the late 90’s. He said when he worked at Shop At Home they had their own cliques there behind then scenes. One for WWF and one for WCW and they would all argue back and forth about which brand was better. Whenever he would watch wrestling before he was involved in it his wife would always make fun of him.
- He called Kurt Angle the MVP of the WWE for the last 4-5 years that he was there.
- He thinks the Chicago Bears have a good shot at making it to the Super Bowl.
- He says he was literally scared when he did the angle where Scott Steiner attacked him once. He knew it was all a work but he had heard so many stories from the boys about how nuts Scott is and he let all of that go to his head. He was also scared the time when Ken Shamrock broke from the script after being eliminated from a battle royal and started going nuts tossing chairs and trying to dismantle their announcers desk.
- His favorite moments in TNA history are Elix Skipper walking the cage at Turning Point 04, Jeff Hardy’s dive off the set onto Abyss at Bound for Glory 05, AJ Styles dive off the cage at Bound for Glory 06, and the reaction that Sting got when he made his return at last year’s Final Resolution. He said the reaction to him was so loud that it sounded like 20,000 people were in the Impact Zone that night.
- He said Ed Ferrara left the TNA announce team because he was very skeptical about the companies future. Ed did a lot to help him as an announcer but him leaving was better for the announce team.
- He loved the moment in TNA when Brian Urlacher tossed Johnny Fairplay out of the ring so much that he could watch it on a reel that plays it over and over again.
- The guys who directed and produced the James Bond commercials that Don did were huge fans of Don’s work on the Shop at Home network. They actually came in and pitched the idea of using him for the commercials having no clue that he worked for TNA and Spike TV.
- He laughed and said his ankle is still a little sore from being put in the Ankle Lock but he’s tough and refuses to show pain.
- He has no idea if Scott Steiner will be back in TNA or not but he hopes so. He has been a big fan of Scott for a long time and really enjoyed the Steiner/Joe feud back over the summer.
- There are still plans to hold a PPV event in the St. Louis market.
- The screaming that Abyss did in front on the prison on last week’s Impact really creeped him out.
- He would love to see Christopher Daniels become a top player in TNA.
- He’s really excited to see Jerry Lynn back in the ring on Sunday.
- He says Vince Russo 2002 and Vince Russo 2007 don’t even seem like the same person. Russo was a big fan of him on Shop at Home and actually got him his job in TNA.
- He loves the story telling that has been going on in TNA since Russo was re-hired.
- When announcing they have the freedom to do as they wish. They don’t have anyone shouting in their ear telling them what to do and say.
- He really enjoyed last week’s Impact. He said it was the prefect balance between wrestling and story telling.
- He thinks TNA can improve on advertising and getting their name out there to those who don’t even know that TNA exists.
- He loved the 3 way match at Unbreakable 05 between Joe/Styles/Daniels. He says he will remember it for a long time to come.
- Vince Russo tried to bring him into WCW but it didn’t work out. He’s glad it didn’t for many reasons but mostly because he had no idea what he was doing and going straight in calling a company that big would have been a total fiasco. He was then contacted right before TNA started by Jeff Jarrett and was offered the job as color man. He turned Jeff down numerous times but he just wouldn’t take no for answer so he finally accepted. He tried to quit during the first month because he knew he was awful but Jarrett wouldn’t let him.
- He would love to see Chris Benoit in TNA. He’s been a huge fan of Benoit since his days in WCW and can picture in his mind AJ Styles and Chris Benoit facing off in an Iron Man Match. He would also love to see RVD, Edge, and Rey Mysterio in TNA.
- His favorite matches he called in 2006 were Angle/Joe 2 from Turning Point and LAX vs. Styles/Daniels from Bound for Glory.
- Don said he had no idea that Kurt Angle was coming to TNA. He said 3-4 people knew and he was not one of them. He found out about 5 minutes before they made the announcement.
- He can’t imagine anyone who’s a true wrestling fan not ordering the PPV on Sunday. He thinks Joe/Angle will be amazing and he can’t wait to see it.
- There is talk of doing a live TNA event in the UK.
- He’s not sure how or if the VKM skits can and will go on now that Triple H is injured.
- He said Kurt Angle explained to him personally how awful the WWE schedule is and he just can’t see how they do it.
- He says being a part of a company that is growing and being a big part of that is so much fun and he thinks that’s a big reason why Angle is really glad to be in TNA.

Enterthemadness, they do NOT charge you for rides and attractions. TNA wrestling is considered an ATTRACTION at Universal Studios.
TNA charges people for merchandise, food, and other things at the Impact Zone, and if they had games there they would charge for that too.
All they could do was for BFG 2005 charge for the fan fest event as well as a guaranteed seat at the PPV. Other than that they can NEVER charge for seatings at the Impact Zone.
I'm sure they want to, but Universal Studios simply will NOT allow it. If they could, I imagine they'd have done it already. They've been there 2 and a half years.

Konnan will undergo hip replacement surgery this morning in Mexico. His surgery, which was postponed two weeks ago when doctors went in to operate only to find out his kidneys were severely damaged. The damage is believed to be from an infection that Konnan’s immune system failed to recognize. Doctors told Konnan that his situation is fairly common.
Since then, Konnan has been going through kidney dialysis three times a week to help clean out his blood. It appears that the dialysis has been successful thus far and his surgery for this morning will take place as planned.
Konnan will need a kidney transplant in the near future, which is a costly procedure. The transplant procedure is an estimated $100,000 here in the United States. In Mexico, however, it was estimated at around $35,000 with a one-year wait. In addition, Konnan is in need of a kidney. His blood type is 0 positive, if you’re interested in donating a kidney for Konnan you can contact him on his MySpace account by clicking here.
Konnan is also in need of money to help pay for the cost of his surgery and future kidney transplant. If you are interested in donating a few bucks to Konnan you can send him money by clicking here. You may also include a private message for Konnan when donating.
Column: Perspectives Of The Common Fan
Report by Jimmy Eaton on 01/09/2007 at 11:18 PM
Welcome one and all to Perspectives of the Common Fan! All you jabronis just for kicks and giggles are getting an extra edition of this fantastic column. Now that you’ve stopped jumping for joy at this exciting news, on with the show!
I’ve been writing for a little over a month now and I want to settle some issues that I believe people have had with me and my views on a few things in today’s wrestling world. First being the fact that while I admit I am biased towards TNA and hate the current product of the WWE, I have not always despised them as I do now. There was the Old WWE, and the New WWE as I see it, and don’t worry, while this is a TNA site everything will tie into TNA, I can assure you.
People always put the WWE into eras, whether it’s the Attitude Era, the Mid-90’s Era, or the Crappy Era. Whatever the case, I see it as the Old and the New. I was a fan of the Old, period. It was the first wrestling I watched next to WCW when both companies were competitors who gave pure wrestling on a weekly basis with side Saturday morning shows that were taped in advance. I couldn’t get enough but as the nineties progressed, things changed as everything does over time. I saw myself watching WCW in the NWO days as the WWE moved on to its Attitude days or as I call it, the New WWE. With me so far? I just found myself not interested in the product they had. I didn’t want to watch teams like the Head Bangers or watch sleazy stories. I wanted the wrestling and creative story lines. Isn’t that what wrestling is about? Isn’t WRESTLING in the name? WCW unfortunately for me went down the same path which included switching titles to where they had no meaning, and had actors win the prestigious gold. Why? Why was this all happening? I decided to give WWE another shot and while it was bearable, it still wasn’t what I remembered, but WCW was much, much worse at the time. I never was able to catch ECW unfortunately and didn’t hear about it much until after its demise. I found myself with no choice but to stop watching all together on a weekly basis. This brings me to TNA. While I found myself following both companies online, WCW and WWE, and periodically found myself tuning in off and on to see what was going on, I couldn’t help but want a change. I wanted things back to the old days, in my eyes, and I know I’m not as old as some fans but hey, this is just my opinion and how I see things. I didn’t learn about TNA until two years ago but once I saw it, I was hooked. I always tried to watch and have gotten to the point where I’m a passionate fan again of this great sport. I’m biased because I’m a fan, not that TNA is without its flaws, I feel that WWE is at the point where it’s as bad as WCW before Vinny Mac bought it out, and the fact they bring in celebrities for garbage like Rosie vs. Trump and K-Fed, and it reminds me of the junk WCW pulled at it’s last stand. TNA to me is like the old school WCW and even WWE before it changed in the late nineties. The interesting story lines and pure wrestling is back and I hope it stays that way. Now, WWE has its high points, while very few in my eyes, but I’m not going to lie. There are some guys I respect but don’t like, and others I like all together. Some things happen that I laugh at, and I give them props for it. I just choose not to openly because this is not a WWE site, it’s a TNA site, and I’m trying to be positive about the company I hope succeeds and I will support them as long as they keep up what they’re doing. Sure, part of me is sore on the inside because of what I feel Mr. VKM did to me as a fan. He tried to make me feel stupid and took away what makes the sport great. And don’t get me wrong, while I respect what he has done for the business, I don’t have to like him or fully respect him as a person and while I don’t know him, I don’t want to know him at all. If anyone thinks I’m just full of it and thinks I can’t talk my way out of anything related to wrestling, then YOU get on here, and write about whatever the crap you want to write about. This is how I feel as a fan and why I write about what I do and don’t do, as well as what I like and don’t like in my columns. Once again, TNA is my passion right now, and I don’t watch WWE, not because of who they are, but because I don’t like the product. If it changes, then that’s great. It will give me an alternative but if not, then I have the right to watch what I do. Because while I wouldn’t mind if the WWE as of right now at this very moment died, I feel if it were better, then competition would be great for the sport. I know I’m not Vince McMahon, nor can I do what his staff does and wrestle how these athletes do; I just am stating how I feel. Love it or hate it.
This brings me to competition in the business. It’s good. There, I said it. If WWE can shape up, I WANT them to succeed as well. But not at the expense of TNA, no sir, I feel TNA with more money can be like WCW was before they turned to the dark side. A great company to rival the great beast known as WWE! It would prove to be great for ratings, and for the fans which is what it’s all about. I want to see that happen, but it’s a shame to see all the bull crap and trash talk between the two about how one is worse then the other. I try not to entirely bury a grave for WWE, but even I am guilty of that to where I shoot off my mouth, when in reality it comes down to this; I’m a TNA fan, so I won’t watch WWE. If you like WWE, fine. But if you haven’t seen TNA, give them a shot, that’s all I’m trying to say here. Good riddance to WWE in my eyes if they keep up the things that they do. I wish the best for the guys who do bust their butt and try to keep the business fresh, yet keep to its roots with morals, and integrity. It’s a fine line to walk for some people. As I’ve said though, I am someone who has bashed WWE myself, and I hope others can heed my advice by agreeing with me in saying it’s not needed and is just childish, not to mention a waste of time. Fans of both companies can act like kids from time to time and we need to sit down, shut up (Yes, a columnist saying shut up, go figure) and enjoy whatever we watch. With most TNA fans, enjoy it while you can if things don’t happen to work out, instead of wasting time talking about the crap WWE does, and of course it goes the other way too. Some things go unnoticed of course with both companies, and some things will always get attention, but it’s just the pettiness of it all you know? I live in Kissimmee, Florida and I hope TNA in a way doesn’t tour so I can just watch what they have now and be content, but I know someday it’s bound to happen. Note to TNA; for the love of all that is good, PLEASE keep Lockdown in Orlando 8>) but as I don’t want to get off topic, I just feel this has been needed to come out for a long time. Sometimes the fans are just as much at fault as the companies themselves.
Now, I have two more things to yap about before I let all you little goobers go back to living your lives. I’ve noticed a lot of fans feel TNA is ripping off WWE, and vice versa. Again, I’m putting both sides at fault, because the fact of the matter is, NO ONE OWNS ANY IDEAS. Sure, WWE copyrights up the butt, but still, every company has a right to have their own type of matches, storylines, whatever. Hey, maybe they’ll improve it. Maybe it will suck. OH WELL. Just deal with it and quit the griping, whining, and complaining that WWE stole this, or TNA stole that. While it may be true, it can in turn possibly be good for the business. Look at things like King of the Mountain, King of the Ring, Survivor Series, and the Royal Rumble. While I loved the latter three as a kid before TNA, if these companies want to mix things up and use one or the other, why not? Hey, I’ll be able to laugh if WWE makes a mess of the awesome match known as KOTM or; :: gulp ::, anything X-Division related. I can’t see that happening but with the WWE, you never know what they’re going to pull. I know once again I’ve been guilty of these squanderings myself, so sue me. Go ahead, I mean, I’m sure half of you may want to blast me out by now as it is, but hopefully that’s not the case 8>P Heck, I really don’t even care. I think it’s wrong to steal other people’s ideas and try to make a mockery of something. But I still like VKM because it’s funny, and entertaining, and that’s what I watch. I’m not a hypocrite, while I sometimes can be and I admit that, I will always have my opinion. Bottom line is, I loved the old school WWE PPVs back in the day, and ultimately wouldn’t want TNA to take them away because of the memories I have and same goes with WWE taking away what makes TNA different. Yet we need to keep an open mind; wrestling is not sports entertainment, but fans DO want to be entertained with fresh wrestling and fresh, new ideas.
Lastly, it’s funny to see people who love certain wrestlers when they’re with one company, and then HATE them the minute that they jump ship to another promotion. Heck, most of the time you can say it’s a personal decision or something within the company that no one knew about. Sure with the media now-a-days we find out a lot more then we would have years ago with that lovely tool called the Internet, but that doesn’t mean we know everything. You either like someone, or you don’t. If something about them changes, that’s your choice on how you perceive them, but just to say I hate this person because their in TNA or WWE is ludicrous. Please, give me a break fans. If you’re going to do that you might as well just call yourself a Band Wagoner because I’m sure you’re the type who only cheers for the sports teams that always win.
Phew, a lot of things to cover but my mind was spinning this last week and much kudos to my friend Sam who helped spark these topics in a heated discussion that lasted a good few hours. I am a TNA FAN folks. DEAL WITH IT. I will be biased, but instead of being ridiculous about it, just watch what you want to watch. If you want to read my material, go ahead, if not, I don’t care. I love what I’m doing. I hate the WWE right now, at this point in time, so I don’t watch it. We all can get carried away but the fact of the matter is, these wrestlers make the sport what it is, as does the backstage workers/writers at TNA and WWE. Let’s get a grip as fans and enjoy it. Love it. Live it. Whatever floats your boat is fine with me. Yet if I think I’m right and you’re wrong, I’ll tell you. To close this column up, if someone can improve on something, then that’s great. But still, I hope these companies can also stop their wrong doings on both sides that include backstage politics, spreading rumors, or anything like that. And that fans can learn not to look so negative on aspects of this great sport, which includes myself, because that should be the goal for all of us all because I’m sure there are things going on that we don’t know about, aside from the things we read about on sites like this. Maybe this will all make sense to you readers and maybe to some, you won’t get it or care, but all of this is what makes this sport great. Everyone can help the business and I look forward to seeing what happens in years to come!
As always, feel free to send me feedback at jeatonbucfan@gmail.com. I’ll reply to as much as I can thoroughly and whether you hated it, loved it, didn’t read it and just want to screw with me, do what you please as long as you don’t send me a virus. I love wrestling and until next issue, which will come earlier then normal as I review Impact! and give my thoughts, same primetime, same channel! Later peeps!

Jimmy
This reminded me of those CZW fans that put the "shoot" video on youtube during the ROH feud.

Haha, totally. I can't believe that any TNA mark could have the gall to say that TNA is "pure wrestling", when the Rosie vs. Donald fiasco on RAW had more wrestling in it than every match on Impact put together.

.....do you even watch TNA? Maybe they don't have wrestling every week, but c'mon.Dude, the average episode of Impact has like, 10 minutes of wrestling total. That's like four or so matches that never exceed three minutes. The Rosie/Trump horror was 17 minutes long. One horrible spectacle on RAW outlasted every "wrestling" match on Impact, the show that supposedly has more "wrestling" than its "competitor".

This is the first iMPACT I've watched in about two months. The only things I enjoyed were the PCS segment, Samoa Joe, Mitchell's promo, and Christian's awesomeness as a heel.
Nothing's changed though.
I love Abyss's entrance music.

Wrestling bailed out troubled Homicide
By Alex Marvez, South Florida Sun-Sentinel
January 12, 2007
Total Nonstop Action Wrestling and Ring of Honor star Homicide said he is lucky he didn't become the victim of one before becoming a pro grappler.
Nelson Rodriguez Erazo was admittedly involved in gang activity while growing up in Brooklyn, N.Y. But when his son was born nine years ago, Erazo decided to focus on pursuing a career in an industry based around faux violence rather than remain around the real thing.
"I didn't want my son growing up the way I grew up," said Erazo, 29. "I was hanging out with a bad crowd, robbing people and selling drugs. I was doing things where I deserved to be in jail. If I didn't change, I would be six-feet under or in jail."
Instead, Erazo finds himself as a dual champion for two up-and-coming wrestling promotions. Already one half of the TNA tag-team champions with Hernandez (real name Shawn Hernandez) and manager Konnan (Charles Ashenoff) as the Latin American Xchange, Erazo recently defeated "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson to win Ring of Honor's world title.
Because TNA places greater focus on story lines and eccentric personalities than Ring of Honor - a Northeast-based group whose emphasis is on in-ring work - Erazo has incorporated his own checkered past into his LAX character.
"I have two different psychologies with two different companies," said Erazo, who is frequently joined on Ring of Honor cards by fellow TNA standout "Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels.
"Ring of Honor has more of a Japanese (wrestling) style where it's very athletic and you have to pace yourself. In TNA, there are millions of fans watching so you've definitely got to be on your 'A' game."
Erazo said his Ring of Honor matches led to getting noticed by Konnan, who pushed for TNA to hire him.
"I'm aggressive," Erazo said. "I'm only about five-foot-eight but I wrestle like I'm six-foot-10. I can do every (wrestling) style, and I'm a team player. I'm very happy that Konnan saw that in me, not some short Puerto Rican guy who is a wanna-be."
TNA champion for four of the past five months, Erazo and his LAX partners will have the chance to further enhance their reputation on Sunday night's Final Resolution pay-per-view show emanating from Orlando. LAX will be facing the duo that is generally considered the top U.S. tag-team of this decade in Team 3D, known as the Dudley Boys in World Wrestling Entertainment.
"When you think of the great tag-teams, you think of the Road Warriors, the Steiner brothers and Team 3D," Erazo said. "We want that kind of legacy."
Other matches at Final Resolution include Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe in a 30-minute Iron Man match, Sting vs. Christian Cage vs. Abyss for the National Wrestling Alliance heavyweight title and Rhyno vs. A.J. Styles in a "Last Man Standing" bout.

Well, I was mistaken about Homicide's length in wrestling. I was told by multiple people that he had over 15 years in wrestling, but I've been informed wrong. It's only around 10 years now. Sorry about that. Great to see an article on a TNA wrestler not named Kurt or Steve.

Notes for the TNA Final Resolution PPV tomorrow night:
- Chris Harris may interfere against James Storm in Storms' match against Petey Williams to further the AMW break-up storyline.
- Bob Backlund and Glenn 'Disco Inferno' Gilberti had been scheduled to be two of the judges for the 10 minute time limit match between Austin Starr and Alex Shelley. For those who don't know, Shelley got his job in TNA based on a match with Austin Aries (now Austin Starr) in ROH.
- Lance Hoyt is expected to drop the dancing moves.
- VKM will cut an in-ring promo on the PPV bashing WWE, Triple H's injury, the end of D-X, TNA chants on RAW, etc. etc.
- Several people within TNA are going to be watching the interaction between Brother Ray and Hernandez during the LAX/Team 3D match. Both men work very stiff and are not afraid to voice their opinions or strike back with harder shots if they feel they are being treated to rough.
- Samoa Joe's knee has responded well to some recent physical therapy and should be okay for the Final Resolution PPV this Sunday. Joe wrestled Kurt Angle at both of TNA's events in Portugal last weekend and also made an appearance for the PWA promotion in Canada as well. Whether or not Joe will have trouble working the full 30 minutes of the Iron Man Match against Kurt Angle remains to be seen, and even the same could be said for Angle considering his health.

* So Cal Val blew us a kiss
* Pyro went off
(1) Last Man Standing match: AJ Styles vs. Rhino. Match starts with Rhino going after Styles on the outside chasing him back into the ring before referee Earl Hebner rang the bell to start the contest. During the match, they showed the spanish announce table, with both announcers wearing LAX t-shirts. Styles scored a pinfall at the four minute mark, but Rhino answered the 10-count to continue the bout. Styles did his running dive over the top rope landing on Rhino on the arena floor. At 7:53, the War Machine scored a 1, 2, 3, but once again, Styles was able to answer Hebner's 10-count to continue the action. Rhino hit two gores, and at 13:47, Styles laid flat on the mat. Rhino set up a table on the arena floor as Hebner counted. Styles didn't answer the ten count, which ended the match at 14:42. Rhino wins. Rhino cut a promo, and went after Styles after the match.
* As the announcers talked about the card, Rhino hit a rhino driver on Styles on the entrance ramp. Rhino set up a table behind him, and went for a gore but Styles got up and Rhino went through the table into the entrance zone.
* Backstage, Cline interviewed Jerry Lynn. Lynn admitted he was taking a risk by agreeing to the match at age 43. Lynn said he isn't going to waste his time teaching Sabin everything he knows, and after tonight, Daniels will call him teacher as well.
(2) X-division title match: Christopher Daniels vs. Jerry Lynn vs. Chris Sabin. Fans chanted "Jerry, Jerry" as the bell rang to start the match. In text voting, TNA fans have Joe winning tonight's iron match over Angle by a 61 to 39% margin. All three did a spot from the corner, which earned a TNA chant. BME by Daniels, but Lynn made a save. Powerbomb by Lynn, but Daniels made the save. Lynn hit Daniels with a cradle piledriver, but Sabin sneaks up behind Lynn and rolled him with a handful of tights at 11:42 to win the X-division title.
* Backstage, Borash interviewed a gray haired Kevin Nash. Nash introduces tonight's head judge - Bob Backlund. As the segment ended, Eric Young wanted to go shopping with JB. Young said it was an honor meeting the "president" (Backlund) as he voted for him in '95. Backlund said it was 2000, as they shook hands.
(3) PCS finals: Alex Shelley vs. Austin Aries. Before the match, the masked Samolian Joe came out as a judge. Big Fat Oily Guy is judge #2 (yes, the big Dick Johnson look alike). Guess they couldn't get the Disco Inferno. Backlund came out as judge #3. The judge's table is positioned in front of the announcer's booth. A loud chant of "Alex Shelley" from the live crowd started the match. The Big Fat Oily Guy appears to be eating Doritos at the judge's table. As the match progressed, fans continuted to support Shelley. The oily guy rubbed oil on himself. Starr went over to the judge's table and scored a point for himself on Samolian Joe's scorecard. Shelley added a point to Backlund's score sheet. During the match, Starr grabbed a drink of water and spit it into Shelley's face. One minute to go. Starr put on the camel clutch with 20 seconds to go, but Shelley didn't tap and it ended in a ten minute time limit draw. Borash brought the scorecards into the rings. Samolian Joe judged it for Starr. Big Oily guy voted for Shelley. Backlund came into the ring, having the deciding vote. On the mic, Backlund went through his scorecard category by category. Backlund scored it a draw, which brought big Nash to the ringside area. He told Borash to re-start the match with a five minute over time period with Shelley quickly winning the match. Senshi, Jay Lethal, and Sonjay Dutt came out as Shelley received his trophey. Starr was not happy, and argued with Nash. Nash pushed down Starr. Starr got on the mic and said he didn't come here to play second fiddle to Nash and the others. He said he only respected Senshi, but Senshi didn't want to leave with him. Senshi and Starr got into it. Starr left the ring and went after the judges. He struck Backlund, and Backlund put Starr into the chicken wing!
(4) James Storm (with Gail Kim) vs. Petey Williams. Kim is in Storm's corner, but played up she isn't happy about it. Fans chanted "kill the Cowboy" at Storm. Storm hit the eye of the storm, but fans weren't impressed. In text voting, fans have Joe still up on Angle, 60% to 40%. Fans started a "lets go Petey" chant. Storm blocked the Canadian Destroyer, and grabbed the ropes for the victory at 6:39. Rudy Charles asked the fans if Storm used the ropes, and Gaik Kim. Storm put the handcuffs on Williams. Storm went for the beer bottle, but Kim blocked it. Storm was going to hit Kim with the beer bottle, but Kim low blowed him. Kim grabbed the beer bottle, but Jacquelyn (former WWE Women's champion) ran in and went after Kim. Jacquelyn hit a leg drop from the top rope, and afterwards, Storm hugged Jacquelyn!
* They showed VKM video highlights.
* Outcomes VKM to waste some time. They are armed with steel chairs. BG said tonight they came out to declare victory over WWE and Vince McMahon. BG said they didn't do anything about their antics. He told Triple H to heal his wheel, as he doesn't like to see any of the boys get hurt. BG called WWE cowards and stupid. He said if they had acted, WWE would have increased their ratings. BG talked about K-Fed beating the WWE champion. He talked about the Rosie-Trump match on "Raw," and said fans started their "TNA" chants. BG said WWE insults the intelligence of their fans. BG encouraged the fans to sing "We aren't going to take it," and lead the "TNA" chant. BG said their is a new sheriff in town, and its TNA. Outcame Christy Hemme.
The FallenAngel

She said she has something to say. She said Shawn and Hunter need a little respect. She said what about Chyna? Just because she's just a woman in a man's world? She said "what about Lita?" She asks about Val, Tracy, Gail, etc. Hemme said she wants to wrestle, and will continue to fight because she loves it. "Women deserve respect," said Hemme. Fans chanted "we want wrestling" and "boring" during Hemme's roll. BG said there is plently of room for women. Kip grabbed the mic and called Hemme a "****." Kip encouraged her to go back to the strip club she got fired at. Kip said women are only good for two things and crotch chopped her. Hemme slapped Kip and walked away.
* Backstage, JB interviewed Team 3D. Bubba said tonight its old school vs. new school. Bubba said they took out Brother Runt, so they took out Konnan. He pointed out that Konnan has yet to be in their corner. Bubba said they are jealous of what LAX has, the world tag team belts. Sting came out looking for someone.
(5) NWA World Tag Team title match: LAX vs. Team 3D. Moody Jack is back, and introduced LAX. Tenay noted that Konnan had hip replacement surgery in Mexico, thus he's on the shelf. Fans chanted "USA" as the match started. Match started with Devon and Hernandez doing a series of power moves. TNA text messaging fans have Joe now up 57 to 43%. Brother Ray is sporting a black t-shirt, seems to have spent time recently raiding buffets. It appears Ray is bleeding from his forehead. Fans chanted "we want tables." Devon hit his flying headbutt on Hernandez on the mat. Runt came out in his Santa Claus outfit, drinking. He jumped off the top rope, but caused Team 3D to be disqualified. An upset Ray tossed Runt out of the ring.
* Final text message voting: Joe 57 to Angle's 43%.
* Backstage, JB interviewed Samoa Joe. Joe said Angle made this personal, as in the beginning this was about who was the better man. He said Angle stands in his way of the NWA world heavyweight title. "You will be broken," said Joe.

* Backstage, JB interviewed Sting. Sting said the devil is pulling Abyss's strings. In comes Jim Mitchell and Abyss. Mitchell said tonight Sting's attempt to win over Abyss stops. He grabs Mitchell by the neck, but Abyss doesn't act.
Three Way Elimination match for the NWA title: Abyss (with Jim Mitchell) vs. Christian Cage vs. Sting.I don't remember any ironman match having that many pinfall/submissions apiece. And it seems like their finishers alternate between working instantly and not working.
Well, that VKM skit sounded productive.

I think the numbers went that high with the Angle/Lesnar match, but that was 60 minutes. Also, with the Angle/HBK one on the RAW Homecoming in '05, but those were done at the right times, and were set apart properly. These just all seemed to happen in a short time.
Tomko came out with Cage, but Jim Cornette came out to assign Tomko to a cage near the ring to avoid outside interference from him. On the outside, Cage bulldogged Abyss on the entrance ramp and slams Sting on the floor. Shock treatment by Abyss, but Cage barely kicked out. Cage went for the frog splash, but Abyss catches him and chokeslams Christian. Blackhole slam by Abyss on Christian, but the referee attended to Tomko who had a hold of Sting through the cage. Scorpion death drop by Sting, and Abyss is eliminated at 5:35. We are going to have a new champion tonight. Abyss chokes Sting, and leaves him lifeless in the ring. Cage worked over Sting, but Sting hulked up at the 8:30 mark and regained control of the match. Gorilla press, stinger splash, but missed a follow up. Superplex by Sting, as Mitchell returned to ringside. Sting's attention was focused on him. Mitchell opened the cage door as Sting applied the Scorpion. Tomko came in and dropped Sting with the referee distracted, but Sting kicked out. Tomko comes in again, but Sting flipped him over the ring. Abyss came out and went after Tomko. He throws Tomko back in the cage. Cage missed a belt shot. Unprettier by Sting, Cage kicked out. Mitchell hit Sting with the cane, but Abyss came in with the referee down. Sting puts Mitchell in the scorpion, but Abyss hit Sting with his chain. Cage hit the frog splash to win at 13:15 and capture the NWA World title. Tomko puts Sting on his shoulders as the PPV ends. Tenay says next month it will be Angle vs. Cage.

This is like, the first time in months that I'm happy about something that TNA did! I'll actually watch this week...Thank the Gods Christian finally got his title back after all of that bull****.
Other than VKM, this reads to be a pretty entertaining PPV. Will have to give this one a watch.
60 Minute Iron Man matches have had some high scores at some points. I believe HHH/Benoit was a 5 - 4 score in the end.

Angle vs. Cage could be a great match, thanks for the run down of the PPV. It sounds like they botched a few matches, but sounded good overall. To me tho it sounds like they didn't know what to do with VKM with DX possibly being gone now. K, my guess now is Joe gets his first title shot by winning it from Angle and coming full circle to avenge this loss and the loss of his winning streak. Only downside is how long will they let Joe hold the belt compared to how long he would have held it before Angle came over? Also it sounds like Cage may only hold the belt for 1 month :(. I like Cage, but I can't see him winning over Angle unless they have a 3 matcher with Cage being disqualified the first time by Tomko interfering, Angle winning the second, and Angle winning the third with Cage trying to win it back.

Shocked to see Joe/Angle III go all the way. It was good.
:csad: I wanted Sting to win. It's nice to see Double C with the title again...but Sting wrestled nicely...and I want Sting/Joe for the title (also it may get more buys than Double C/Joe for the title)
Hope the AJ/Rhino feud isn't over. And I want Starr/Shelly to continue. BS way to end the tag title match.

All of the stuff that happened in between CC's title reigns has totally killed the cred of the belt...hotshotting it illogically from one person to the next...if I were Joe I would be pissed that psychotic drug addict Angle waltzed in and stole my spot in a matter of months.

-At the Olympics, he realized that he was the smallest guy, but he was the best conditioned, which helped him beat the giants he faced.
-He has never been in a sport that he's risked paralysis and death (referring to pro wrestling. He's injured just about every bone in his body.
-He had a pill problem. He won't go into the amount. Hes says it ws caused by his neck problems and his sister OD'ing on cocaine, as well as Vince McMahon not giving him time out.
-He wants to do UFC, but he says that one fight he does could destroy him. He still has to make that decision whether he'll do it or not.

- Mike Johnson is reporting that Kurt Angle (http://www.gerweck.net/kurtnangle.htm) suffered a concussion in his 30 minute iron man match with Samoa Joe at last night's Final Resolution PPV. Angle was said to be in alot of pain and was helped to the back by TNA employees. According to the source, Angle told people backstage that he didn't remember parts of his match.
- As a result of last night's Final Resolution PPV, the 2/11 TNA Against All Odds PPV is expected to be headlined by new NWA champion Christian Cage defending the world title against Kurt Angle. In addition, Dave Meltzer said Sunday night that the angle involving A.J. Pierzynski, Dale Torborg and Lance Hoyt would lead to a match at TNA's February PPV pitting Hoyt vs. Dale Torborg with A.J. Pierzynski in Torborg's corner, and Hoyt having St. Louis Cardinals Dave Eckstein in his corner. TNA is taping Impact tonight in Orlando, so we should have a pretty good idea of the Against All Odds PPV since its only four weeks away. We'll post Spoilers later this evening.

It is possible that Samoa Joe reinjured his knee during the match with Kurt Angle last night. Joe is good at selling overall, so he may have been doing that with his knee last night. No confirmation has been made yet. As noted earlier this morning, Kurt Angle suffered a concussion during last night's match and claimed he didn't remember every part of the match.
TNA will be taping two weeks worth of iMPACT! for Spike TV tonight in Orlando, Florida at Universal Studios. Already confirmed for the first taping is LAX vs. Team 3D for the NWA World Tag Team Titles in a rematch from last night's Final Resolution PPV. Also scheduled is newly crowned NWA World Champion Christian Cage addressing his title defense against Kurt Angle next month at Against All Odds, what Samoa Joe will do next after losing to Kurt Angle, a sitdown interview with Christy Hemme and an update on the brawl between Lance Hoyt and A.J. Pierzynski & Dale Torborg.

Part of tonights taping, to air 1/18:
- Sting threw Jim Mitchell into the trunk of a car.
- In a promo, Team 3D tells Brother Runt to not get involved in their match on the show.
(1) LAX defeated Team 3D when Spanish announcer Moody Jack interfered.
- Backstage, Abyss was upset about Mitchell missing; Jacqueline and Gail Kim were brawling.
- Christy Hemme does a sit down interview until Kip James interrupts. BG James tried to keep the peace.
- New NWA champion Christian Cage cut a promo. Kurt Angle came out. Cage said that he has an "Anger management," and drops the names of Bill Goldberg and Brock Lesnar.
- Sting took Mitchell to a prison that Abyss once occupied.
Sting demanded to know Abyss' secert, but Mitchell refused to say and was handcuffed to a fence.
(2) James Storm d. Lance Hoyt. AJ Pierzynski interfere.
Afterwards, Kim and Jackie continue to brawl until Storm lays out Kim, bringing out Petey Williams for the save but received a superkick for his trouble.
- Backstage, AJ Styles calls Kurt Angle a baby.
(3) Kurt Angle pinned AJ Styles. Angle wins with an olympic slam on a steel chair. Tomko and Cage come out for a 3 on 1 beat down of Angle. Rhino comes out and chases away AJ. PWinsider.com reports that Samoa Joe came to the ring and stared off with Angle as Cage and Tomko backed off. Cage asked Angle if he had a clue yet, insinuating he had hired Samoa Joe.
- Sting arrives to the Impact zone and wants Abyss to tell him the secret. Abyss refused to say, and Sting vowed to find out himself.
Hour two results:
Samoa Joe came out to the ring to speak to the fans and Kurt Angle. Joe said it seemed like everyone has a burning question, why would Samoa Joe help Kurt Angle? Joe said he wouldn’t save Angle from a car accident or fire. Joe said Angle didn’t win at the PPV Joe ran out of time. Joe said he would be the ring enforcer at Against All Odds. Joe said he wanted Angle to win so they could fight for the NWA World Heavyweight title. Joe was joined by Kurt Angle who also had a microphone. Angle said he thought they were done after the PPV. Angle ran down Joe about who the “anger management coach” was. Angle was fine with Joe consulting Cage. Joe said at the PPV he would be Angle’s best friend. This brought out NWA World Heavyweight champion “Captain Charisma” Christian Cage and Tomko. Cage said Angle didn’t have the puzzle solved. Cage said Joe wasn’t good enough to consult him on anything. Cage said before the show ends there would be a second hint, someone who has been closer then Angle thinks. Angle and Joe had words but once again TNA security broke it up. Cage and Tomko looked on from the safety of the announce table. Tomko said there would be some changes coming, maybe even in Mike Tenay and Don West’s chairs.
“War Machine” Rhino came out to face who he thought was Raven. Serotonin (Frankie “the Future” Kazarian, “Maverick” Matt Bentley and “Hotshot” Johnny Devine) attacked Rhino as Raven came to the ring. When Rhino got rid of Serotonin, Raven hit him with a kendo stick shot and revealed himself to be “Phenomenal” AJ Styles. Styles blasted Rhino with chair shots and cut open Rhino’s forehead before TNA referees and security got him to leave.
(1) In a non title match, Jerry Lynn defeated World X Division champion “the Future” Chris Sabin, Senshi and the Austin Starr
Senshi was so focused on Starr he nearly got pinned by Lynn. Lynn and Senshi continued to trade moves but Sabin tagged himself as Lynn was backed to a corner. Sabin stomped on Senshi and Starr demanded a tag. Starr got Senshi wedged in a corner and dropkicked his neck. Sabin tagged back in and continued the multiple minute attack on Senshi but a move backfired and Lynn tagged in. Lynn got two after a TKO but Starr stopped the pin. This sent Senshi over and he brawled around ringside. Sabin set up the Cradle Shock but Lynn countered out and pinned him sunset flip style.
Sting returned from the public records office to reveal Abyss’ past atrocity to the public. Sting said Abyss needed to die to have life. He couldn’t believe what Abyss did ten years ago. Sting wasn’t sure why he got involved but he believed this was meant to be. He said he was willing to take another beating from Abyss to set him free. He said Abyss put three bullets into the back of someone’s head. That person laid in and survived a coma. Sting said the man in question was Abyss’ dad. Sting wanted to know why this happened. Abyss came out to the ring and jumped Sting. Abyss tossed Sting out of the ring and dragged Sting all around the Impact Zone; throwing him into anything he could to administer punishment on Sting. That included a chokeslam through a folding table and a trip out of the building. But the cameras cut away for what I guess was a commercial break.
(2) NWA World Heavyweight champion “Captain Charisma” Christian Cage (w/Tomko) defeated “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels.
Cage went on the attack but Daniels hit a hip toss and a slam to set up a slingshot elbow drop for two. Daniels went for a second rope move but Cage got in front of Earl Hebner and Tomko shoved Daniels to the floor. As Cage went after Daniels, Samoa Joe came out with a chair of his own to watch the match. The match came back to the ring where Cage kept the offense going in his favor. JB came out and talked to Joe as the match went on. Daniels fought out of a chinlock only to be hit with a dropkick for two. Cage hit Daniels with a Rude Awakening but didn’t go for the pin. A suplex attempt was blocked and Daniels got an inside cradle for two. Joe and Tomko traded stares as Daniels hit Cage with an STO. Daniels hit a leg lariat and a running knee to the chest and got two. Daniels escaped an inverted DDT and hit a floatover moonsault for two. Daniels went for the BME but Cage moved, so Daniels landed on his feet and attacked. Cage got a school boy for two even with his feet on the ropes. Daniels locked Cage in the Cobra Twist as Tomko and Joe argued again. Daniels let the hold go and it backfired as Cage hit a low blow before winning with the Unprettier. Angle came out to have words with Joe once more.
For Xplosion we saw Alex Shelley defeat Jay Lethal in a wrestling clinic. It ended with Shelley avoiding Lethal’s top rope headbutt and getting a chain wrestling style pin. It was joined by Chase Stevens vs. Sonjay Dutt. “the Franchise” Shane Douglas came out towards the end of the match and attacked Stevens. Rudy Charles called for the bell as Douglas tried to strip the “franchised-Naturals gear off Stevens.
The only announced for Against All Odds PPV was NWA World Heavyweight champion “Captain Charisma” Christian Cage (w/Tomko) vs. Kurt Angle. Guesses for PPV matches are: “War Machine” Rhino vs. “Phenomenal” AJ Styles (possibly a cage or other violent weapons involved), Chris Sabin vs. Jerry Lynn, LAX vs. Team 3D, Gail Kim vs. Ms. Jacqueline, Chase Stevens vs. Shane Douglas and Dale Torborg vs. Lance Hoyt

TNA's PPV seemed pretty solid. I'll catch a replay tomorrow.
Despite his concussion at Sunday night's TNA PPV, Kurt Angle appeared on NBC Monday morning on the TV show iVillage Live. He cooked a wheat burrito and talked about how he is extra careful with his heart due to his family's history with heart problems. In regards to wrestling, Angle said that TNA has the best and fastest moving wrestlers. He did mention his concussion, but only in passing.
Angle also appeared on NBC Sunday night on George Michael's Sports Machine show. Apparently when the interview was taped, he was asked one question and he talked for 35 minutes on it. At the end of the segment, he claimed that he wanted to do MMA, but he had an awful lot to lose as one fight could destroy his reputation. Angle said, "Am I willing to put my rep up for one fight?" He dreams about the one match that could make or break his legacy. Also, he talked about having a major painkiller problem in 2005.
TNA had its biggest crowd in history at the 1/5 show in Lisbon, Portugal. They drew 5,000 fans in an 8,000 seat arena. SmackDown had a house show in the same arena last month as well, and they sold out the place. Furthermore, even though TNA airs on Eurosport, the majority of the fans aren't too familiar with product as aside from Kurt Angle, they don't know most of the wrestlers. For instance, when Samoa Joe put Kurt Angle in his patented choke hold finisher, hardly anyone in the arena knew what he was doing.
It was TNA's decision to discontinue airing TNA Xplosion on Sun Sports. They told them in early December that they would no longer be supplying them with tapes of the show. Sun Sports was their only U.S. outlet for the show. However, they'll continue to produce the show because it's cheap to produce and it's profitable for the company to sell it to international markets. Also, they'll continue airing the show on The Fight Network in Canada.
Just days after announcing a mobile deal with New Motion Inc., TNA incorporated cell phone texting for the first time in the company's history at the Final Resolution PPV Sunday night asking fans who they thought would win the 30 Minute Iron Man Match between Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe.`

from Strong Style Spirit:
President Simon gave an interview today to discuss what is now Kurt Angle's official participation on the 2/18 Sumo Hall show. Simon is glad he's finally been able to acquire Angle's services, after negotiating with him since November. Simon said that Angle is very interested in the pro wrestling of Japan, especially former amateur stars like Nagata, Nakanishi, and Nakamura. Simon believes a tag match will be set up (well, thankfully its not a three way dance this time!), and is expecting many New Japan wrestlers to introduce themselves as candidate. Naigai Times says Nagata and Nakanishi may both be involved in it, which isn't too surprising. Simon promised that New Japan will think carefully about this match, as they want to satisfy the fans and give Angle a suitable podium on which to show his ability. Simon also announced that he's considering dispatching wrestlers to TNA again in exchange, so long as they are interested in using Japanese talent.
(source link: puroresufan.com)
Kurt Angle was apparently feeling much better yesterday following his concussion on Sunday. He'll wrestle AJ Styles this Thursday night on iMPACT! in what was apparently a great match. For those wondering, his New Japan match on 2/18 will likely be part of a tag team bout.
The latest word is that Samoa Joe wasn't injured at the PPV afterall. Joe has always done a great job of selling in the ring.

He needs to stop blaming WWE and start blaming himself.

Exactly. And the TNA defenders were like "well he had two weeks of rest!"
WTF?!
It's another TNA quick fix. They don't care if he's not healthy, they want the ratings. And at the moment, to them, it's a successful one, pulling yet another 1.1 for their thursday showing again last week.
Who knows, perhaps they did in hopes of him dying in the ring on a PPV hoping for a ratings spike.

If Angle had gotten six months of rest, stayed away from TNA, and not gone all crazy all over the wrestling media, I would've loved for him to go to Japan and wrestle, and I actually would've been excited. Now I'm disinterested and can only assume that he'll die in the middle of the ring.
I'm looking to see him get knocked the **** out in the middle of the ring about 6 minutes into the match.

TNA doing damage control with Joe is a complete and total failure.
Angle TOTALLY beat Joe and made him look like his ***** on PPV after Joe promised he would punish Angle and get retribution and end things.
Like I said, if TNA had to choose between Joe and Angle, they would choose Angle in a heart beat and they have.
Not to mention that Angle was the one that forced Joe into the rematch in the first place.

There has been a lot of talk within TNA about how to improve their major weakness, which is believed to be their TV shows. The feeling within the company is that they can have better wrestling matches on TV than WWE, rather than ’saving’ their best matches for PPV rather than having them on Impact.
TNA is still pursuing Chris Jericho, who has yet to accept or decline the offer. Jericho has also been brought up by Vince McMahon for WWE WrestleMania 23.

I'm hoping that means they're gonna be putting on longer matches on TV but still have great matches on PPV, sorta what Smackdown does.
Hopefully that's what their thinking, but who knows with TNA these days. Better qaulity matchs on Impact would be ideal.

WWE is guilty of that too.
- Despite Christy Hemme bringing up Joanie "Chyna" Laurer during her Final Resolution PPV promo, it doesn't appear she will be coming in. In fact, In a Lifted magazine interview, Laurer stated, "I will not return to wrestling. I am very proud of what I have done, but I have grown and I am looking forward to future endeavors. But no, I will never go back."
- TNA continues to make a play for Chris Jericho, and according to Dave Meltzer, has neither accepted nor turned down their offer.
- Apolo was recently spotted backstage at a WWC show in Puerto Rico. He is trying to get his spot back in TNA, and possibly join LAX. His IWA Puerto Rico contract is close to expiring.
- AAA in Mexico is attempting to put together a Kurt Angle vs. Cibernetico match.

- Mike Johnson reports that there are currently heavy negotiations on going between Spike TV and TNA for a number of reasons including the possibility of a 2 hour primetime special on Monday Februrary 12th when Raw is pre-empted for the dog show. If the show does happen it will most likely be an introduction type show of sorts for fans who have yet to see the TNA product.
- Johnson reports as well that Scott Steiner has signed a new long term deal with TNA and should be back on TV very soon. (YES!) The plan is for a Steiner/Angle feud sometime in 2007. (NO!)
- Lastly, Johnson reports that TNA is still trying very hard to sign Chris Jericho who has shown some intrest in the company as of late.

Steiner coming back is awesome. Feuding with Angle, not so awesome. Although, the craziness of the promos should be entertaining.
I don't really want to see Jericho go to TNA. I'd rather he go back to the WWE, instead of burning that bridge.
I've missed Steiner's pressense on TNA. He actually added a lot more than expected, hell, even put over Joe, and was consistantly in the main event without ever really getting in the way. Lets ust hope Russo doesn't take this a way of pushing him into a title run that will just, well, blow.

Steiner back in TNA is good. He's good on the mic and is entertaining. Him feuding with Angle is a WTF moment...but at least he is back.
I expect TNA to get at least a 1.5 overall rating for the 2 hour show Feb12th if they do indeed have it. Their last 2 hour special was actually good.

Last week Konnan had hip replacement surgery in Mexico and is now back home. He is in alot of pain, but no complications have surfaced from the hip surgery.
Now Konnan prepares himself for his biggest battle, Kidney Transplant Surgery. As you heard in our audio interview with Konnan, doctors told him he would have gone into cardiac arrest in a matter of months if his kidney ailment wasn't discovered addressed.
Since his last appearance on TNA Impact, Konnan has lost over 40 pounds. His illness is literally eating away at his muscles.
To the credit of many caring fans, some have offered their Kidney for transplant. If you are O Negative which is Konnan's blood type, or even O Positive, you could be a donor. Unfortunately, the cost for Kidney Transplant surgery is in excess of $35,000. Konnan does not have any medical insurance.
Konnan is planning on having the surgery in Mexico because of the lower cost. In the United States, Kidney Transplant could cost $80,000 to $100,000.
With Konnan's blessing, Georgiann Makropoulos and myself started a drive worldwide to raise money to pay for Konnan's kidney transplant. As of this writing, a total of $3,000 has been raised. All of us are touched with the amount of support the wrestling community has shown towards helping Konnan.
Konnan is too weak to do any type of audio interview at this moment. But he sends along his thanks and is very grateful for the help. To quote Konnan, he said that the love and help he is receiving makes his 20 year wrestling career worth it that much more.
$3,000 raised in two weeks is excellent. But we have to raise so much more. Obtaining a donor for a kidney transplant is critical. But without raising the $$$, the surgery cannot be done. We are talking about something that needs to be done very soon. We ask everyone out there to please take the time and assist in any way you can NOW. Whether it's a financial donation, a donated item towards our Ebay auctions, or even just spreading the word.

DONATION INFORMATION
TNA made a very generous gesture to Konnan by loaning him the money for his Hip Replacement Surgery. However Konnan is on his own with his Kidney Transplant.

They could be fixing the X-division by having some good or classic matches and feuds.
The reason the PCS happened was so the X-Division guys could maybe get a rub from Nash on the charisma side of things. Besides a select few, the X guys are bland "indy kids" with pretty much the same look and repetoire. Sure the high spots are good, but those guys could in no way get over with the casual fan if they are lacking character. That's just mainstream U.S. wrestling.

A reminder. TNA airs Wednesday at 10pm this week.
- TNA have been wanting to do Team 3D vs. The Steiners for a long time, but due to Scott's contract issues the timing's never worked out.
- Kevin Nash is claiming he's the reason Jeremy Borash is back doing the interviews. Nash was fed up with interviews having to be done over and over again as Leticia Cline didn't know what she was doing.
- As things stand, Kurt Angle will likely compete in a tag team match at the 2/18 New Japan Sumo Hall show.
- The booking team is trying to come up with a shoot concept to be different from WWE. The vague idea is to have all X Division matches have time limits but have real judges deciding the outcome based on who gave the best performance in the match.
- There have been more office cut backs. Staff have been told to either double up at the Doubletree hotel or stay at a cheaper hotel as long as TNA continues to pay.
- TNA's 'Big Fat Oily Guy' is Tiny the Timekeeper from the Nashville days.
- Expect to see a women's division in TNA sooner or later.
- 900 hundred fans packed the Impact Zone for the Final Resolution PPV, with a few hundred more turned away.

Good news!
We received a press release earlier tonight confirming that TNA Lockdown would be a PPV held outside or Orlando, FL. The event will take place in St. Louis, MO at the Family Arena on April 15th.
http://www.sescoops.com/artman/publish/article_6372.shtml
TNA announced last night in a press release that their Lockdown PPV on 4/15 will take place in St. Louis, Missouri at the Family Arena. This will be the company's second "on the road" PPV after their 2004 relocation to Universal Studios Florida as their homebase. This will also likely feature the climax of the Baseball storyline as well.
Expect at least 3-4 more PPV's to be held outside of Orlando, FL this year as well.
http://www.sescoops.com/artman/publish/article_6376.shtml

The arena seats 9,643 for hockey, 9,755 for football, 10,467 for basketball, 6,339 for half-house concerts (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concerts) and up to 11,522 for end-stage concerts. What seemed to sum up TNA at Final Resolution is that in the VKM segment at the Final Resolution PPV they mocked WWE for having people chanting "TNA" during the Rosie/Donald skit, but later in the same segment they had their own fans chanting "We Want Wrestling". Everyone backstage knew that segment was a complete disaster but they had to do it to further the upcoming Women's division.
As noted earlier by TNAWrestlingNews.com, Konnan had his hip operation on 1/11. Just the fact he had it is very good news as they felt he was healthy enough to survive the surgery thanks to the dialysis he's been on. The doctors have told him that in four to six months he'll be moving better than he has in years. He flew back home to San Diego on 1/17 and there has even been talk of him being back on the 1/29 tapings next week.

I thought overall TNA's show was pretty good. When I saw the spoiler's of Abyss's secret it had me thinking it'd be stupid, but instead of putting the emphasis on who he shot, they were making the real secret why he did it.
I do think if TNA would just give in and take the money for the 2 hours show and not hold out for more money they'd improve so much. I liked tonight, but you can tell it would have been so much better if matches weren't cut down to 5 mins, and could go a good 15 mins.
Christian also showed again why he's a great heal with good mic skills. If they hype Christian vs. Angle more, and don't keep talking about Joe vs. Angle, this could be a really good fued, both are good on mics and could have good hype.

One thing that didn't make sense tho, wasn't Raven given an ultimatum to wrestle and earn his check? I was actually looking forward to Raven vs. Rhyno, not that AJ didn't pull off a good segment.

I agree, they need that 2 hours to fit in all that stuff Russo overflows with,he can get his never ending backstage skits in better if they had 2 hours and it would allow at least the main event of each show to have 15 minutes match time

More proof the Kurt Angle has, infact, lost his mind:
Angle on Bubba Highlight Points:
- He makes more money with TNA than WWE.
- Dixie Carter is a better business person than Vince McMahon could ever be.
- TNA had their highest rating ever last week and that their ratings are better than Smackdown (?) and ECW.
- Hopes to have Big Show and Hogan in TNA and said Big Show was the hardest worker in WWE and Vince did not appreciate him.
- Nash cannot wrestle for a year and he would like to have him wrestle when he is ready.
- There are rumors about Jericho coming in.
- He talked to a doctor about Vince and Vince "looks like a heart-attack waiting to happen".
- WWE got their business deal with China because of him. He then clarified he passed a number onto Shane and he never received credit.
- HHH is a "slimeball" but has great ideas and great psychology and will be best for WWE after he retires.
- Again stated TNA had a 1.5 last week and beat Smackdown (?).
- Hogan, Goldberg might come in and then they will beat RAW.
- The three top free-agents for TNA are Hogan, Show and Jericho.
- Test is a multi-millionaire from real estate.
- Jericho was drunk and started a fight with Test in WWE and held his own.
- Test has nothing wrong with him and should have been pushed better.
- He brought Bobby Lashley into Pro Wrestling.
- Christian needs to change to be a true heel and that is what they (Angle and TNA) are doing with him and that he hopes Christian has a long run as champ, but needs to change his style and take direction better. Angle will have a match of the year with him soon.
- He does not know if he is a babyface or not currently in TNA, but likes his character.
- He is doing commercials for Bald Guys - a grooming company with shampoo for bald men.
- Undertaker stiffed him in the ring after Kurt told him he did not understand the "carny speak" in the ring during their first match.
- Talked briefly about his concussion and said he has no idea how the Iron Man match wound up being that good. He apologized to Samoa Joe and claimed Joe will take a month off soon because of injuries.
- He had a 5-star match with Hogan at King of the Ring and said he has a lot of respect for Hogan.
- Admitted he is an agent and writer and said if Big Show comes in, he would be undefeated and Kurt would make sure of that.
- Talked about his heat with Shawn Michaels over the fact Michaels did not go to Smackdown when asked. He claimed that McMahon lied when he said Angle was his top choice to switch brands. He then admitted that Michaels was the one that said he would put over Angle at WM. This was right after he said Michaels did not put people over.
- RVD admitted to Angle that he had no idea how to work and that he only hits highspots and points to himself and says "RVD".
- He wants Bubba as a manager in TNA.
- He wants Tito Ortiz on the phone next week live on Bubba's show to talk to him about fighting.
During the course of the conversation, Bubba claimed:
- Hulk Hogan told him Dixie had her sh** together and her backers could buy & sell Vince ten times over.
- Hogan has talked with Dixie Carter about coming in.
- Turner/WCW went with well known names to combat Vince and how TNA should do that. Angle agreed.
- He and Kurt should put the Hogan/TNA deal in motion.
- He will contact Dixie about making TNA appearances.

As noted on Tuesday evening here on the site, NASCAR driver Hermie Sadler's UWF (United Wrestling Federation) wrestling promotion has a Team 3D vs. Steiner Brothers match booked on 2/3. As noted earlier by the TNAWrestlingNews.com website, this is something that TNA has been wanting to do for a long time, but due to Scott's contract issues the timing's never worked out. Not good rating at all.
I...will probably just skip the Monday Special...since it isn't special at all.
TNA is planning on holding a special which will air on SpikeTV on February 12th. This is the night that WWE Monday Night RAW will be preempted due to The Westminster Dog Show. The special will be comprised of recent pay-per-view matches as well as introductory features of the company.
The first idea was to hold a live special since it will be the day after the Against All Odds pay-per-view, but in way to accentuate all the different positive ends of the company, a taped special appears to be the best way of doing this.
TNA’s announcer, Don West, made a note on his Nashville, TN radio show yesterday that the special will feature five pay-per-view matches.
SpikeTV and TNA are still negotiating the exact length of the show; they are contemplating two or three hours. They don’t expect to get the high rating that WWE RAW gets each week, but at least they will gain a lot of attention from fans looking for a good filler for their normal Monday night timeslot.

Ya, obviously they didn't, either Angle doesn't read the actual ratings or is a bit delusional. I mean I like TNA a lot, but their not beating ECW or Smackdown. Only once has TNA beat ECW for the week, and it's when ECW was aired on a Saturday and drew like a .8 or .9, and TNA drew a 1.0 or 1.1 for the same week. Which was a special case.
However that's bad news for ECW, very bad. With TNA it's expected to build up as they started low. ECW however started pretty high and has gradually dropped off, a 1.2 is their second worst so far right? Looks like the rumors posted in the Rasslin' thread might be true.
I can't say I'm entirely sad to see ECW go as I hated the route they took my former favorite promotion, but there are still a few good ppl like Punk left who might get lost in the mix. On the plus side they already fired most of the ECW origionals, so it's not like ECW being canceled will affect them any.

A 2 or 3 hour timeslot? Woot! (If it goes thru that is).
My main complaint on TNA atm is that every match is cut so short compared to how they used to be. I mean 5 mins is not enough time to do a decent AJ vs. Angle main event or something. 2 hours would be great. 3 hours reminds me of WCW, and how some ppl would watch the first hour of WCW, then watch the 2 hours of WWF, and switch back and forth to watch the main events. I wouldn't mind a 3 hour TNA, but not sure if it would help ratings.
Hopefully if they finally accept the offer they'll use the time wisely and lengthen the matches again.

To me it looked like Tenay and West were surprised when they looked up from the script with the camera in their faces.
In reality WWE commentators have ppl whispering in their ear on what to say, the difference is looking down and reading a script looks unprofessional.

:wow: BIG TNA NEWS!
http://www.sescoops.com/artman/publish/tna/3-Hour_TNA_iMPACT_Special_to_go_Head-to-Head_With_RAW.shtml
Because of a pre-emption due to the Westminster Dog Show, WWE RAW will not be airing on Monday night, February 12th. Instead, a taped episode of RAW will run later that week on Thursday night, February 15th.
SpikeTV and TNA are siezing this opportunity and going to war with WWE. TNA Wrestling has announced they will air an unopposed 2-hour special on Monday night, February 12th featuring "TNA's Best PPV Matches of 2006".
Old news...but this is what is :wow: and smart.
Now, the Wrestlinig Observer Newsletter reports TNA will also air a 3-hour primetime special on Thursday night, February 15th to go head-to-head with the taped off-night episode of WWE RAW.
TNA is looking to expose hundreds of thousands of WWE RAW viewers to their product on Monday night 2/12, when RAW is off the air. That momentum combined with a 3-hour primetime special 3 days later against a weakened off-night RAW is the best chance TNA's ever had to post a big number against WWE's flagship show.
This is a tremendous opportunity for TNA. Its been reported for months that TNA and SpikeTV have discussed a Monday night timeslot for iMPACT! If TNA does strong numbers for the unopposed Monday night special and their 3-hour Thursday night special against WWE RAW, a move to Monday nights might happen sooner than anybody expected.

- Before the Final Resolution PPV there was a showdown of sorts between Bob Backlund and Kevin Nash backstage. Nash tried to get over on Backlund by making jokes about 'gimmicks' (wrestler terminology for getting high on somas or other forms of downers) and other drug references that he thought Backlund wouldn't get. Backlund threatened to walk off the set and insisted on the material being removed from the script else he was going home that instant.
- Kevin Nash was said to be instrumental in getting his friend Jeremy Borash back on the interview segments instead of Leticia Crane. He was one of many people to complain about Crane, who held up numerous tapings because they had to do numerous reshoots of her segments. Nash made a few cracks about whether her boobs were good enough to warrant them filming until 1am because of her errors. Jim Cornette has also been taking a greater interest in producing the interview segments.
- The morale in the TNA locker room is said to be worse than ever. There has been a divide created between the star group (Jarrett, Sting, Angle, Christian, Nash) who make the most money and get a separate dressing room from the rest of the roster. TNA has also cut back on the shuttle bus they used to get people from the airport and hotel to Universal Studios, although the five main guys still get plenty of perks.
- Konnan spent nine days in a Monterrey hospital after his hip replacement operation. The doctor doesn't want him wrestling for at least six months, yet Konnan is already planning on wrestling in AAA in three months time. He still needs the kidney transplant, with his mother as donor, and has lost about 40 pounds in weight so far because of the limited diet he must maintain. AAA are planning a benefit show for him in February, with WWE agreeing to Rey Mysterio making an appearance (although he won't be wrestling due to his knee surgery). Konnan's kidney problems are said to have been caused by a combination of heavy usage of anti-inflammatory drugs, pain killers and a high protein diet and not due to heavy steroid use.
- There is heat on Brother Ray for Team 3D's match with LAX at Final Resolution. Terry Taylor spoke to all of them after the match, which was agreed to be the worst on the PPV, and told Ray he didn't sell enough for Homicide and that LAX are the tag champions and hottest home-grown act in the company. Ray thought he had been selling plenty but Taylor told him otherwise. To smooth things over Ray then volunteered to put Homicide over on TV.
- The booking team still wants to add new members to LAX. Konnan wanted Senshi to join but Senshi's attitude means TNA don't want to push him that much. They want Apolo and Machete, both former members, to join but some people feel they would water down a hot act too much.
- Mike Tenay is back on the booking team, alongside Vince Russo, Dutch Mantel and Jeff Jarrett. They have also asked Cornette to join but they are still negotiating financial terms about it.
- The current plan is for Scott Steiner to be the 'anger management coach' Christian has referred to, although Ken Shamrock is another option. There is no chance of Goldberg or Lesnar joining at this point.
- ROH is still in talks with Bruno Sammartino about him making an appearance at one of their Detroit shows over WrestleMania weekend, most likely on the night of the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony.

This year, Trish Stratus will be participating in one of these parties and there will also be a post WM dinner date with Trish for the lucky winner of a contest. All of the details for this Trish Stratus appearance and contest will be released on Showdown.net in the days to come.
Kip James walked into the studio. Here are the highlights (the full 30 minute interview can be heard for free on the Showdown.net site).
Kip commented on Cena using the Fame-Asser on the Rumble PPV. Kip said Cena steals a lot of stuff but it is okay since Cena "is limited."
Most of the VKM material is from BG James and Kip themselves. Vince Russo, who is writing at TNA basically lets VKM do their own thing without getting too involved.
The hosts reminded Kip that their airwaves are Internet-only (every Sunday night live at 11PM EST. on Showdown.net) and he was free to curse, this was when Kip seemed to really get comfortable.
Kip made some bold statements. Kip said "When you've seen one X Division match you have seen them all."
Kip says he is a huge General Hospital fan and that [WWE] wrestling has gotten away from the cliffhangers that make people want to watch week to week. The hosts take WWE's side and say TNA drags their angles out too long. Kip says TNA has a much smaller fan base so it takes longer for the mass of fans to grasp the storyline. Because of this, it is important for TNA not to move their angles as fast as WWE.
Kip says Vince McMahon's ego will not allow himself to comment on VKM on WWE TV. Kip says Vince probably "loves" the angle since it was Vince's own original ideas being reversed on him.
Kip puts over LAX.
Kip says TNA gives the fans too much in one hour and they are not leaving the fans wanting more the following week.
Kip says TNA is wasting Bobby Roode. Kip says Roode is going to be a HUGE star and it WON'T be from TNA because "they don't know how" [to push a guy]. Kip jokes that he is probably going to get fired tomorrow at the TNA tapings for what he says in this interview. {Note to TNA officials: Kip's attitude towards TNA was much more friendly than how Kid Kash was in that "other interview" I recapped two years ago that seemed to cause a lot of trouble in your office}.
Kip says he has heat with Rico (former WWE wrestler).
Kip says he would "leave TNA in a heartbeat" if WWE offers him enough money. Kip says he actually left WWE on good terms and was just victim of WWE wanting to refresh the locker room. Kip said he was in WWE for 13 years.
Kip said he won a lot of things in WWE but it didn't mean ****. Kip talks about his feud with The Rock and jokes about being mad at him because he didn't get his copy of Gridiron Games in the mail yet.
Kip says women have no place in the wrestling ring. Kip said Miss Texas and Luna are the only two that could wrestle like guys. Kip said he didn't like Lita after the hosts put her over. Kip says adding the "ugly ass" girls of TNA to a new women's division would be a big waste of TNA's already limited time.
Kip says the addition of Kurt Angle to TNA is a good thing for TNA. The hosts mention the upcoming "all WWE main event" of the TNA PPV and Kip said he really doesn't want to see it and that he will probably drive home before the match even starts. Kip said he doesn't even remember when the next TNA PPV is taking place.
Kip talked about an encounter earlier that day with the local cheerleaders from the Arena Football League and a funny road story about an auto accident involving him and BG James that Ken Shamrock and Vince McMahon got involved in. The interview ended and Kip jetted out of the studio for his flight to Florida for the TNA tapings the next day.
The full interview can be heard for FREE in streaming Real Audio right now on Showdown.net.

This will either be a good idea or a bad idea...hopefully good.
Several weeks ago we reported that TNA was considering changing the format of the X-Division to be more like "shoot" fights. TNA has now confirmed it is going through with that "shoot" concept.
According to a press release from TNA, they plan to unveil a new concept match at March's Destination-X pay-per-view. The vague idea is to have some X Division matches have time limits but have real judges deciding the outcome based on who gave the best performance in the match.
We'll have more on this interesting story as it develops.

TNA is trying to get Chris...but I think he's using them for his singing career.
http://www.sescoops.com/artman/publish/tna/Chris_Jer.shtml
Chris Jericho's band “Fozzy”, who was featured in a music video for TNA prior to “Bound for Glory”, has given TNA permission to use the band’s song "The Test" off their album "All that Remains".
TNA will be featuring the song on our upcoming two-hour Monday night special on February 12th on SpikeTV.
When will AJ Styles win the NWA World Title again? I think it would be best for the company to give it to him in late 07 or early 08. He's a homegrown talent.
Kurt defeats Christain for NWA World Title in February 07 or March 07.
Joe defeats Kurt for NWA World Title in July 07 or August 07.
AJ Styles defeats Joe for NWA World Title in Feb 08 or March 08.
Joe deserves a title reign of 6 months at least. AJ has won all titles many times...but he hasn't won the biggest title while the company has been on SpikeTV.
Other people who deserve a title run. Rhino...The Fallen Angel may get a title run after last nights segment. I just hope when new talent comes in...it doesn't affect the title reign of Joe.

RUSSODIMY
I know I do this a lot but I am about to go on another TNA rant. I didn’t want to but I got so worked up and angry after watching this week’s show I had to get this off my chest. I can however promise that this will be my last TNA rant for a while because I am now officially boycotting TNA until Vince Russo is removed from the creative process. How a company with such an amazingly talented locker room can produce such an unwatchable show is beyond me. Actually it isn’t beyond me I watched Vince Russo do it in WCW. There is an old expression: “Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” Someone needs to explain the history of WCW to Dixie Carter.
I have come to the conclusion that TNA is to Wrestling, what Scary Movie is to Horror Films. It has become a comedic spoof of a wrestling show. No sane rational person would act the way people do in TNA. Chris Sabin in an effort to make fun of Jerry Lynn’s age shows up in a bathrobe, using a walker, and wearing depends. Is he six? Who would do this? It felt like a bugs bunny cartoon. Why would Jerry be mad that Sabin is making himself look like an idiot?
Ron Killings stuff looked like a bad SNL skit. He said he was going Hollywood and going to be a big star so we now get to see him doing bad movie trailer spoofs. What is meant to be accomplished by this?
Counting Cornette and valets there were 39 people on this Freakin show. How are we supposed to remember any of it? What purpose did Bob Backlund serve? Why is Sonjay Dutt now posing? Has Big Kev convinced him that he is on the gas?
The LAX thing was beyond unbelievable.
Mike Tenay is handed video footage of a horrific violent crime against innocent people he decides to:
A: Report said violent crime to police and hand over the video evidence.
B: Air the footage and act disgusted and mad.
After having close family members viscously attacked and assaulted, Team 3D:
A: Reports said violent crime to police sending the people who assaulted their family to prison.
B: Become so enraged that they track LAX down immediately seeking revenge.
C: Sends D-von to the weekly TV show to vow revenge next week.
Are we to believe that Sting now has magical powers, since he disappeared out of the back of the ambulance leaving only his “trade marked” baseball bat behind? That tiny cage behind James Mitchell during his promo, does the prison yard match take place inside that tiny thing? What was the point, was that incase we didn’t understand the concept of jail?
There were three matches on the show. All of them had outside interference and brawling after the match. We got a total of maybe 10 minutes of match time on the entire show, and they didn’t even bother to announce the result of the main event. Do finishes not matter? Doesn’t anyone care who won? I used to. To plug a PPV caliber main event then deliver a 3 minutes match with no finish is asinine. If that is a PPV caliber match I will never order a PPV. It is also insane considering the PPV caliber Main Event match that Edge and HBK delivered on RAW just over a week ago.
The show is called Total Non-Stop Action yet we get almost no action and when we do get some it is over shadowed by endless run ins, outside interference, and non-finishes. I am officially at wits end and will not watch another TNA show until they replace Vince Russo. Hopefully this will happen before TNA goes out of business, because if they do Vince McMahon will just end up with another video library and we will have to see all this nonsense again on 24/7.

By all accounts, the show last night was "Ed Wood bad". Because it gets a 1.1, that means it's not totally confusing and unwatchable? It gets a 1.1 because you and others will blindly eat up whatever garbage the company turns out, and as such you're TNA's only audience. TNA's audience has been the same since day 1, and it shows because it's obviously not growing. People don't care about the ****ing company because TNA never gives anyone a reason to. In fact, they do the opposite. They take gold like Samoa Joe, a guy that could help them get huge, and instead of making him someone that tons of people want to tune in to see, they kill his heat and aura dead by bringing in a delusional drug addicted cripple. At this point, the product is so pathetic, that it's not even fun to watch it for comedic value. I couldn't sit through it last night when Sting came out in an Abyss mask and Tenay yelled over the headset like an idiot "IT'S STING IN AN ABYSS MASK! BUT IS IT ABYSS' MASK?!"
I mean...Jesus titty ****ing Christ. I just turned it off. And Lance Storm, one of the most respected workers and minds in the industry, did the same, and with good reason. The company and the product is a complete joke.

Well I like the current product. It should be much better...but I don't find it unwatchable.
I don't have a nielson box on the tv's...so when I watch TNA, RAW, ECW, Smackdown or anything...it doesn't go into the ratings.
I do feel TNA is being lazy. They could be writing good shows or great shows...but they rather wait until a 2 hour show comes there way. Jarret should man up and tell Russo to write more action. At least have 20-25 min of action in the 40+ min show (TNA minus commerical breaks runs 40-49 min I believe)

With the people they have booking and writing, I don't think a good show is possible. You take Russo, Mantel, and Jarrett, throw them in a room, and you get......exactly what comes on your television at 8 p.m. every Thursday. And what is it that comes on your screen at that time, well, that sir, is pure crap.

I wouldn't call it crap. I'll call it watchable, but sad when you know they can do much better.
I'd call the product crap. I've followed TNA for a long time now, as long as they've had non-PPV televised programming, and the show had been at it's absolute worst since Russo's return. There is no doubt about it. I'll be watching out of habit and nothing to do on a Saturday night, but I'm about ready to give up on the company and just hope to catch Joe, Danielson and the like in the indies or old dvds.

I wouldn't call it crap, but it def has went downhill over the past few months. Before I thought it had a great chance, after it's 2 hours special tho (which itself was good) it's just been getting slowly worse.
Only thing I will say tho, is while Lance's complaints are valid, what wrestling program that's had TV air time hasn't done those stunts? Complaining Sting might have 'magical powers' when Undertaker has been vanishing out of vehicles and graves for years (tho Taker is the best at it). Or saying TNA is the Scary movie of wrestling because Sabin wore depends when HHH humped a corpse.
Worse things have happened. It's not good for TNA however that so many bad things have happened in such a short time. I think we're getting our answer on whether Russo will ruin TNA or not. They just need to fire him already, and start back to what they were like before, then improve from there. Put the action and wrestling first, and until they get a 2 hour show they need to cut back on the goofy stories surrounding these fueds.

So what if he never ****ing won a world title? The man was in the business for years and held titles in WCW, WWF, and ECW. He worked in Japan. He's booked matches. He knows what he's talking about.

According to sources, TNA and Spike TV are said to be very close to completing negotiations for a new two-hour timeslot for iMPACT! on the network.
An announcement about a new two-hour timeslot could be coming as soon as this week or sometime next week following the company's two-hour Monday night special on February 12.
We've been told that Jeff Jarrett has been pushing SpikeTV for a 2-hour timeslot on Monday nights while Spike is open to 2-hours but does not feel the time is right to compete directly with WWE RAW.
