It was classless, he could've said nothing and went on. But to imply that Stackhouse is a wimp? You know that's what he was implying, quit playing dumb and just call it for what it is.
Now Dallas better use that and just beat the living **** out of Miami.
Ooooohhh. Somebody's touchy after Game 4. I didn't realize the proper response to on-court thuggery was "no comment". Now, I'm playing dumb. Ayyyeee, ayyyeee!!
Stringer's right. People have gotten suspended in these playoffs for less. Posey just ran into Hinrich (without flailing his forearms at his head) and he got tossed out of the game and suspended.
And if you think a joke is going to help Dallas, you're delusional. No one, with perhaps the exception of you, is going to be thinking about that quote come Sunday.
The league has already helped Miami enough; they don't need anymore help at this time.
Are you serious? With all those crap calls Nowitski drew and some of the other garbage called against Miami. Please.

They asked him about it. He answered. He said it jokingly. Don't get your panties in a bunch. Sheesh. I've heard worse.

Going off of whats happened in these playoffs Stackhouse should be suspended for that flagrant foul.
It could go either way. He'll get suspended or a hefty fine. There have been suspensions throughout the playoffs for less than what Stackhouse did, so it's up in the air.

Right, so Shaq being knocked down in Game 3 by Stackhouse wasn't a flop? I didn't know someone who weighs less and is smaller than Shaq could knock him down so easily.
Face it, the league is trying to help Miami and it's pretty obvious now.
@ Mister J- It's obvious you'll support a piece of crap like Shaq. I didn't see Kobe resorting to joking insults when Raja Bell took his head off. So again, it's quite obvious Shaq has no class and doesn't know when it keep his mouth shut.
It's thuggery when someone gets physical with Wade or Shaq; but if Shaq does it to someone then it's "fair play". You Heatians are bias and want to win a series by hook or crook.
I said once and I'll say it again, this series being tied is a living example as to the lengths Stern will go to make sure he gets his money. So **** Stern and **** the NBA for being greedy capitalists.
I also find it hilarious how so many Dallas "fans" were talking **** and now that the series is tied, they're nowhere to be found. Guess there's only one true Dallas fan here and it's me.

The majority of your post is too hysterical for me to respond to it all. I can only reply to my favorite target, Mamba. After Bell clotheslined him, Mamba made several ridiculous comments, including settling things in the Octagon and saying Bell was insecure and wasn't hugged enough as a child.
You were fairly civil in this series before tonight. I beseech you to put down the bottle.

They're not trying to make it obvious with that, but it's definitely obvious with me and a lot of people. The problem is they'll give Dirk shooting 15 fts to make it look like it's not a conspiracy, but it really is one and it's one that is trying to get Shaq to win a ring.
As I said, the league isn't about competitiveness anymore. It's all about money, commercialism, and going for the most popular team. I bet half of these Heat "fans" weren't fans until Shaq came and led them to the finals, they're typical bandwagoners and will dump them in a heartbeat should Miami lose this series.
As I said, this series is fixed and the fact that it's 2-2 proves my theory.

You know, after reflecting on it for a while, Sunrise has truly stumbled on to something. It's clear that Stern instructed his menacing army of officials to allow Dallas to advance to the Finals, while carefully crafting the Heat there as well. Now the stage is set for the Godfather to embarass Mark Cuban (who we know he deeply detests). Cuban will pay for his insolence, arrogance and Dairy Queen shenanigans.

But, hey florida fans never show but when its teams wins.
The Marlins don`t even make it past 10, 000 fans per game and the heat didn`t do so well before O`neal signed with them.

Dallas got out played simple. The bummer for you Dallas fans is. It appears that Miami has found the Mavs Kryptonite. I would not be surprsed if Dallas doesn't win another game.

Shaq was in the air. I really don't think that Shaq could fling himself that far right in mid air. You do know he really isn't Superman right? Oh wait you probably think Stern invented some sort of gravitational thing to fling shaq right.

Typical unintelligent post from an unintelligent fan of basketball.
I stated my opinion and belief, then all of a sudden so many people have a problem with it and it appears to have struck a nerve. Did my beliefs really get under your skin that much?
I said what I said and I believe that it is a fact. It is a conspiracy by Stern to make sure this series goes longer, or to desperately make sure Shaq gets a ring(Since he brings in a lot of money and is a lot more known).
For example, the year the Spurs won defeated the Lakers in 2003, the ratings went down and the Spurs won the championship to low ratings.
2004, the Lakers signed Karl Malone and Gary Payton, ratings go on the increase, and then the Lakers make it to the finals. But Stern knew he couldn't help the Lakers then, for everyone knew it would've been too obvious so he pulled a fast one.
2005 it was the $terns and the Pistons. Ratings were low for this one, as fans didn't appreciate defensive minded and unbiased officiating games.
Now it's 2006 and Shaq, lo and behold, has made it to the championships. If that doesn't spell conspiracy then I don't know what does.
Shaq and Wade are household names, they bring in a lot of money and sell a lot of merchandise. I wouldn't say it's pre-scripted like the WWE, as you can't force any player to make a jump shot, free throw, or a dunk for that matter. However, to deny that its fixed so the series can go longer just shows how bias and ridiculous you are.
Again, you don't like what I say? Tough luck. I speak my mind and I speak the truth.
On ignore you go. Now go back into your hole newbie. For someone with a 144 posts you talk a lot of stuff, you need to establish yourself before jumping in any conversations with anyone.

Since Sunrise has so artfully countered my posts with the dreaded 'ignore' feature , can someone explain a few things to me?
In a playoff season, plagued with such an obvious and insidious conspiracy, how did Dallas manage to escape Game 7 @ San Antonio? It seems to me the '$terns' were a lock in that one. Yet, I recall Dirk getting continuation on a questionable Ginobili foul when Dallas was down by 3 with about 20 seconds left. They forced OT and then prevailed. Did the refs have their checks held before the game?
Also, how did the mighty Cavs not beat the Pistons after going up 3-2? Sunrise has astutely pointed out that Detroit is a low-ratings team. Godfather dropped the ball by not having Lebron and D-Wade featured in the conference finals.
As long as we're on marketable players, let us not forget about the Almighty Mamba. How do the Bryants not get the duke after going up 3-1? It's freakin' Mamba! He's clearly near the top of the list for a ratings draw. How sweet would that Clippers-Lakers 2nd round series have been? Two same city teams competing to go deeper in the playoffs and they just happen to be in one of the world's largest media markets. That could have been some serious CHINGA-CHING-CHING!!! A surefire money-maker missed right there.
Godfather Stern is slipping. There was potential to have Shaq-Mamba in the Finals and it wasn't taken advantage of. Who wouldn't have wanted to see that? Damn all the naysayers for forcing Stern's plan off its course. Heads will roll!
Ghostvirus
06-16-2006, 10:35 AM
Maybe some one can answer this as well. When did this little fad of ever fan blaming Stern for everything start? Because back in the day you just blamed the refs. When did it get upgraded?
Mister J
06-16-2006, 10:45 AM
All flagrants are reviewed, and this case is no different.
It was a hard foul. I mean, he was going to the basket. In fact, when Shaq is going to the basket, we want to make him go to the free throw line and earn it.
My impression was my daughters tackle me harder when I come home. You know, I'm one of the last players from the old school, and you know, you just have to take a hard foul like that and keep on moving. It actually felt pretty good to get hit like that. Thank you, Jerry, I appreciate it.
You've got heroes like Antoine Walker coming up feeling like he's got to say something. For what? He hasn't fought one time in this league. All of the sudden you're getting brave?
MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! In me power! In me power!! Dance puppets, dance!
Wait, why are they interviewing Armstrong?

Actually, I wouldn't say that we're bandwagon. It's just that our expectation levels are now higher. Back in early 2000s (pre-Shaq) we didn't kid ourselves about winning a title. We supported wade when everyone else was on the lebron/carmelo bandwagon and knew we had someone special. when shaq came, we knew that our chances of reaching an nba finals were realistic. And as a fan who likes to attend games in person and used to live in LA, it actually sucks having Shaq on your team bc he has this power to turn once decent and available seats into ridiculously outpriced seats that you can no longer get unless you know somebody, who knows somebody, who knows somebody. So after he get's another ring and retires, the seats prices will go back down and all of us "bandwagoneers" will still be here, supportive as always.

Stackhouse being suspended is proof that the league wants to help the Heat now.
Shaq can elbow Nowitzki with no consequences, he can elbow Stackhouse and draw blood in the process, but Shaq who is 330lbs is somehow so easily fragile that he makes it look like Stackhouse threw him to the floor.
I said it once and I'll say it again; it's nothing more than a conspiracy to help the Heat win.
So congratulations Heat fans, you have David Stern on your side and have a bigger advantage now.

Did anybody here Shaq's quote about how he was Jor-El's other son or something?? :D :D
"Win or lose, I am programmed to do more," O'Neal said. "That's because I am the other son of Jor-El, Superman."
Remember, he does have Superman tattoos, plus had the distinctive 'S' logo on the grill and adorning the rims of some of his cars.
In basketball speak, I'm wondering what type of adjustments Dallas is going to make on defense. Avery has hinted at switching up the approach on D-Wade, after their scouting report initially billed him as 'a slasher with an inconsistent jump shot'. Wade has hit that outside shot with regularity, as well as getting to the hole. I'm anticipating something along the lines of a halfcourt trap to force the ball out of Flash's hands. He's more than capable of making the pass then to the open teammate for a perimeter look and guys like Williams, Walker and Posey will have to knock it down. They could lessen the double/triple team on Shaq to provide more outside help in accomodating a trap, but I don't think they're going to dare the Diesel to beat Dampier/Diop one-on-one.
In other more pressing news, I could have sworn I left a dollar on my nightstand before I went to sleep and when I woke up this morning, it was gone. I smell a conspiracy and I blame Stern!

Wade said his knee was sore after the first half of Game 4, but after the game he said it felt a lot better. He said that he was kind of forced to shoot in that first half, and his shots were just falling. To me, he looked a bit less explosive in Game 4, but if he's healthier for Game 5, watch out.

Can't wait till game 5 Sunday, I'm hoping it be one of the best games in the Finals.

There's a difference between elbowing someone while reaching for the ball and tackling someone in midair. Conspiracies are for morons.

I bet half of these Heat "fans" weren't fans until Shaq came and led them to the finals, they're typical bandwagoners and will dump them in a heartbeat should Miami lose this series.
Who`d blame them?
They`re from Florida, the badwagon state.
First they jumped on the 2003 Marlins bandwagon which is a shame, because they beat the Cubs, the team with the greatest fans in sports.
And now the jump in the Heat bandwagon.
I still remember how the 90`s Bulls wiped the floor with them each time they faced in the playoffs, and this year they were perhaps the team which they had a harder with time to get to the Finals.
Yeah, harder than Detroit.

Not really, they had hard times with New York and Indiana.
And it was hard for them to win those 6 titles, especially the ones against Utah.
And the one against Phoenix, when they took the first two at Phoenix but surprisinly couldn`t clinch at home,
I hate the heat, but I wouldn`t go as far as to say there`s a conspiracy.
But, it was so obvious how much the NBA needed the Lakers or Shaq`s team to succeed after the horrible 2003 finals.

the 90's knicks were the most overrated, overhyped team in the history of basketball. The bulls beat them everytime, except in 94 where hugh hollins cost the bulls their shot at going back to the finals.
As far as the pacers they were a reggie miller push off foul call away from being dispatched in 5 games.
Utah played us tough but we had some blowouts against them oh well.

I like our core deng, noc, kurt and ben. We shouldnt paid tyson all that money, now he a lazy (cuss word) and doesnt play like he did with curry. We really need a big man that can give us 15-20 points 10-12 rebounds a night on a consistent basis who can block shots and pass the ball. We also need a bigger 2guard so kurt doesnt expend his energy trying to guard guys like dwade in the east. Hopefully we can package our 16th pick and some guys and get Jermaine O neal or KG, but i doubt it though.

I was stoked about the Prospect of KG coming to Da Bulls, until I realized he has been in the leagu for 10 years. He is more or less heading down the other side of the road. I think they would be smart in picking up a younger PF, or Center. I just hope they don't give up Gordon, Capt. Kurt, or Nocioni.

He was quite overrated in tonight's game. 43 points isn't as amazing whenever half of them come from free throws. Miami winning the series is going to be from free throw points, not talent.
Wade is talented, however I do not care for Shaq (because he just sucks, lol) or Posey. I am not worried about the next game because the Mavs still played strong without Stackhouse (although if he breathes Shaq's air in the next game he might be suspended again) and only lost because of free throws. Dallas had 25 chances, while Miami had 49 and only managed to win by a point.
The next game should be good, although I do have to watch the game muted somtimes, because I grow tired of the Dwayne Wade Kiss-Ass-Athon.

If they were anywhere near decent as a team, the game wouldn't have gone to OT. Dallas was exceptional from the line and only missed in the crunch, including Howard blowing two.
Dallas brought the free throw disparity on themselves. They fouled Shaq everytime he got good position and got it the penalty earlier than they would have normally. That combined with the Heat getting good penetration set it up like that.

As for the ugliness on both sides, I have seen some, but the majority I have seen that has been called has been against the Mavs. Personally I didnt watch the first 2 games and only started watching the last few because they alternated days with the Stanley Cup Playoffs, so perhaps I missed some things in the first 2 and I am sure there will be some in the next one or two.

The Wade "foul" was him driving and not even being touched by anyone.
So you're proven wrong once again.
I was talking about games three and four, not seven. Where the phantom foul on Bowen iced the game for the Mavs, and Tim fouled out by Dirk stepping on his foot. But they were great calls when they went the Mavs way
LastSunrise1981

Which one is it? An opinion or fact?
Both actually. The NBA isn't fixed like the WWE where the ending is pre-scripted and the match is scripted, however, due to the popularity of the Heat, Shaq, and Wade in general, the league itself will go to severe and questionable lengths to further illustrate that the most popular team gets the calls and the respect of the officials.
I knew something was up when Shaq elbowed Dirk and elbowed Stackhouse thus drawing blood, and wasn't suspended for his actions.
This is nothing more than an elaborate conspiracy to give the Heat a title so Shaq can have an advantage on Kobe. Nothing more and nothing less.

See. You're normal. You say "hope we shut you guys up" and :p - no harm done. The "other" guy starts whining, complaining, and claims the league is out to get the Mavericks. That annoys me and the other posters that may be rooting for the Heat, therefore, we want the Mavs to go down even more. BLEH!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2005_NBA_Finals#Schedule
The Finals were played using a 2-3-2 site format, where the first two and last two games are held at the team with home court advantage's (San Antonio's) home court (SBC Center). This has been used in virtually all Major League Baseball best-of-seven playoff series since the founding of the league. The NBA, after experimenting it in the early years, only restored this original format for the Finals in 1985. As of yet, the other playoff series are still running on a 2-2-1-1-1 site format.
Dude, I can understand being upset that your team has dropped 3 straight, but you're talking like a raving loon. Calm down. Did you mortgage your house on a bet for this series or something? It's not that deep.

Dude. Last year the Pistons and Spurs went through the first 4 games of the series much like Miami and Dallas are doing now. 2 wins for the Spurs at home, 2 for the Pistons at home. Spurs win game 5 in Detroit, Pistons win game 6 in San Antonio, Spurs close out the series at home.
Secondly, ever hear that there was only one team in NBA history to win the 3 middle games of a 2-3-2 format? Detroit in 2004. Come on, bud. You have to come strong with your arguments and quit typing with your buttcheeks.

The Heatians will have to man up and continue to play well to match the Mavs' intensity in Game 6. Avery's cursing out everybody in sight, Dirk's throwing balls in the crowd and trying to destroy stuff and Cuban and Jason Terry are *****ing with fans. Throw in the whole Stackhouse thing and they'll definitely be embracing the "us against the world" vibe. Outside of the first quarter of Game 1, Miami didn't play worth a damn in Dallas. I'll give it up to the Heat they didn't crack under the pressure and they showed that they wanted that game more. Though I wish this were the Wizards I will say that the Heat are putting on a very good show and the calls in the game are fair. As I said before Dallas can't play D. Their way of playing D is slapping your hands. Dallas is more of a team that lives and dies by the 3 and trys to out score you reather then play an all around game. Also if the Heat hit their FT this game wouldn't have even been close they would have won by about 15.

Look, I am a die-hard Mavs fan and i am just as disappointed as anyone with what has occurred. I'm not ready to jump ship and claim this series is over. I fully expect the Mavs to win the last 2 games at home and claim the championship. I don't believe Miami to be the superior team, think they have just been the more poised team down the stretch. I don't necessarily agree with that last foul call on Dwayne Wade but that's life in the NBA - superstars will usually get the benefit of the doubt. I also don't agree with Stackhouse's suspension but i'm not going to cry about it and say there's a conspiracy. Anyone who says there is a conspiracy is delusional and a moron. The Mavs have done enough bonehead things on their own to lose these games. Any team that wins a championship has to overcome obstacles. Miami has had to overcome Shaq's poor free throw shooting, and Wade's injury. The Mavs have to overcome suspensions, Dirk's mediocre play and Dwayne Wade's ascension to legendary status if they are to win a championship. These last two home games will show exactly what the mavs are made of. This is the same Mavs team that went on the road in Game 7 and beat the champs on their own home hourt so I definitely believe they can win 2 home games in a row from the Heat. It has been a fun ride and I'm enjoying every minute of it and i believe it will end with Stern handing Cuban the Larry O'brien trophy on Thursday night. : )

You just cant make that kind of call in that situation.yes you can if it has game changing effects like the foul they did had. I mean they mugged him for the ball. Look at the photos one is pushing him in the back the other has his shooting arm. That is a cause to call for the foul because you know Wade would have made the basket if not for that. Hell he almost made it even though they fouled him though Shaq was at the other side and had everyone boxed out waiting for the rebound.

No way is this series over yet. Miami will need to play way better than Games 1 and 2 to close this thing out. They're not going in over-confident. They just experienced, first-hand, what a home court advantage can do. The Heatians will need to defend the perimeter with big-time intensity (somebody, please do something about Jason Terry :() and make some free throws for cryin' out loud.
This has been a hell of a series and I don't expect Dallas to just fade away at home.

Greetings all,
Where do I start? Well, I apologize for snapping and just losing my cool entirely. I know it made me look like an idiot, a child, and just gives the perspective of someone who is not getting paid at all for this at all.
I apologize to Mister J. Go Web Go, Maximum Carnage, the mods, and Cmill for snapping and calling them profane and obscene names. It wasn't mature of me and I realize it made me look like a moronic fool.
I was wrong in snapping and allowing my emotions to get the best of me. I don't own the Mavericks, I don't play for them, and I'm not the coach. There's no reason for me to be acting the way I did.
Although, I do stand by my belief that the series is fixed, and I will not be backing away from that notion until I'm proven otherwise. I looked at the calls and Miami, as a whole, went to the line 49 times and Dallas 20. Half of those calls going to Wade and him getting his points from the line. I still believe that he is the new poster child for the NBA, and that $tern, the league, and the officials on the floor will do anything to make sure he looks like a superstar.
Wade only had one foul the entire game, which is outright sad and laughable. A foul is not jumping into another player, a foul is not having someone breath on you, and a foul is not running into the lane throwing your arms up and acting to get a call.
I'm not letting Dallas off the hook either. They had chance after chance to close it out and they choked when it counted.
Do I think it's over? I'm about 50/50 on it to be honest. One says that Dallas had their chance and they're collapsing at the wrong time, the other half says that two are in Dallas and that it's possible for a victory. But the pressure is on Dallas and the Heat will come out strong this Tuesday.
I long for the days when the NBA was about competition, integrity, and dignity. Where both respective teams played their hearts out and the league officials didn't determine who won or lost due to popularity.
I believe that the games in Miami were about playing favorites and the three games prove it.
But again, I apologize for my actions and I understand they were created out of stupidity and immaturity.
PS: I don't understand the Hasselhoff picture? What is the meaning of it?

[I]It has been a fun ride and I'm enjoying every minute of it and i believe it will end with Stern handing Cuban the Larry O'brien trophy on Thursday night. : ):down
It's always good to see people stay positive in the face of overwhemling odds.it's only been a fun ride these last 3 games. I agree with some of your points. Yes, if a team wants to be considered the best, then they have to prove it no matter what. Last year, i hated the fact that some of my fellows heat fans said that the only we weren't in the finals was bc dwayne wade was hurt. No we weren't in them bc detroit wanted it more. They kicked our a**es! But this year we got payback. Yeah, the stackhouse suspension was questionable (especially in a pivotal game 5) but i'm sure that was the last thing on dirk's and howard's mind when they choked on their free throws. Speaking of Dirk, at first i thought he was the best player overall in the playoffs. But look at him now. He stunk it up just as bad as wade did in FG%, but wade did something he didn't. HE ADJUSTED!! His shot wasn't fallin, so he took it to the hoop and tried to create. It's just good basketball. Given that i don't think any of the heat can guard dirk 1on1, he should've been going strong to the hole like he did in the spurs series. Although he did hit crucial shots at the end, he's not living up to his rep. He's the star of the team!. I laughed when Hubie said that in his opinion the finals MVP during the 1st 2 games was Dirk. WHAT ABOUT THE JET!! Jason Terry has been damn near unstoppable from beyond the arc, is going right in at shaq(with that crazy floater) and is making ALL his damn freethrows. That's who we're afraid of down here on south beach. We got dirk's#. I'll be glad to see stack back in the line-up tues, it'll make beating the winning that much sweeter. It will be a great game to watch, but i think we all know now who's the better team. H-E-A-T!!!

Sunrise, I'm still not buying the conspiracy theory, but it's cool of you to come back like you did. Welcome back to sanity. :D
Btw, the David Hasselhoff thing is in reference to Dirk. Apparantly, ol' Knight Rider's music is big in Germany and Nowitski has said he hums/sings Hasselhoff songs when he's at the free throw line. As a result, the Miami crowd chanted that name when Dirk was at the line and people have been showing that hideous picture of him (DH) in a speedo or whatever. *blech* :down
In other news, Dirk got fined $5,000 for his impromptu tryout as an NFL punter. Cubes would seem to be next in line to contribute. I knew he got into it with some fans, the refs and some reporters, but apparantly he was screaming at Stern and some other League officials.

I just finished watching a bit with Stephen A. Smith's "Quite Frankly" and he had Cutino Mobley, Damon Jones, and Mark AcQuire(spelling?) on there as his panelists.
All panelists said that Stackhouse shouldn't have been suspended and that the foul wasn't a malicious or dangerous foul, as Shaq has done that all of his career with no punishment.
But they did mention one thing that I agree with. Dallas needs to get into the paint, get calls, and make their free throws. It doesn't help that Dirk and Howard are clanking clutch free throws. Let's face it, every point counts in the finals and whether you can get them by three pointers, two pointers, or free throws, those shots are vital and are very necessary to make in these situations.
I'm still 50/50 on whether or not Dallas will win tomorrow. They can either completely meltdown tomorrow and be embarassed, or they can return with a hunger that shows they really want the trophy.
I will say this. I hope the $tern and the league let the players play tomorrow. I don't want to see any ticky tack or phantom calls. Let the players decide who wins or goes home tomorrow.
If Dallas wants it they'll win; if Miami wants it, they'll win tomorrow as well. Either way it'll be an interesting game.

As someone pulling for the Heat, I have to say that I was surprised by the suspension and thought it was unnecessary. This is the f***in' NBA Finals. The Mavs should not be penalized as a team for one single hard foul. Maybe a fine (at the maximum) but suspending him was the wrong thing to do.

Dallas did not even get to the line in the 3rd quarter (which is bad), however they did hit, like, 19/19 before the choke job misses by Howard, and the misses by Dampier and Dirk.

Golf, Amateur Wrestling, College Basketball, and so on and so forth.
College Basketball seem to have refs who don't play favorites, which is why I tend to enjoy it a lot more than the NBA.
I'm not saying there are never any bad calls, but the officials shouldn't determine who wins or loses. That's something, even you, have to agree on my friend.
In the end it should be the players decision.

See, I think the other way. Miami has the series lead. They can go into that hostile environment and give it everything they've got to try to pull off a win in Game 6. But they know in the back of their minds they cannot slip up and let Dallas win, take momentum, and carry it into Game 7, which will of course still be in Dallas. So now, not only is it all up for grasp now, but Miami has to try to win in a place they have proven they can't.

College Basketball? Even in high school basketball the refs can make questionable calls. There's a great deal of room for error. Maybe your team just never makes it to the tourney so you're impartial =)

The pressure is on Dallas. They can pout all they want but after a couple games of practice, Wade is making them look like high schoolers out there on defense. I won't say it's going to be anything but difficult for the Heat, but Dallas is on the chopping block here. Can't stop The Flash!

Miami needs to win tomorrow nights game. I'm not saying that they're not capable of winning a possible game 7, but they need to end this series now and send the Mavericks off on vacation. Winning in Dallas is no easy task. They need to get off to a quick start and suck all the air out of that building tomorrow and maintain their lead like they were unable to do in game 1. Get it done, boys.
Mister J
06-20-2006, 09:07 AM
The Heatians definitely need to win tonight. They could potentially win Game 7 @ Dallas, but seriously, who wants to deal with that. They've seen how the Mavs feed off that crowd and how quickly the game can get ugly.
It'll be important for Miami to be deliberate early on; execute the halfcourt offense, get good shots and (please) get back in transition. Dallas is pissed right now and playing up the "everybody's against us" thing. Good strategy on their part. Miami can't get into that run-and-gun crap with them early. Gotta try to take the crowd out of it and control the tempo.
The boys can and need to get this done tonight.

Damn skippy, Shaq needs to hit the phone booth. He's been productive ('cept at the line; that's gotta change) and shot a high percentage, but the best duo in the League has to set the tone tonight. He needs a lotta touches, especially if the Mavs are just to grab him like they did in Game 5 and help put themselves in the penalty early.
I need 'Toine to step up tonight too.

06-20-2006, 05:30 PM
I expect the Mavs to put all the pressure they can on wade. When that happens, jwills need to hit the 3 or drive bc he CAN make his FTs. Shaq has got to step up an become a force in the paint. He and haslem need to dominate the offensive boards. Walker.......just needs to pass the ball (wisely) and asked to be benched so my man posey can hold it down. The HEAT cannot.....I repeat....CANNOT.....lose this game. It will push all the momemtum back to Dallas. If they can play at least a great half and get a considerable lead, then all theyb have to do is feed the big man and slow the game down. It's going to be very intense tonight, can't wait.

The 2 things that have killed Miami throughout this series are free throws and turnovers. As of this moment it's no different and they're STILL up at the half - be it by the slimmest of margins. They closed the half out well, but need to be careful with the ball and knock down their free throws...that and they need to stop passing the ball to Antoine Walker. :(

Dirk was pretty good, but he didn't get the ball enough. That foul they said Dirk did on Wade was mess. Mourning and Haslem were beast. Howard and Harris got in foul trouble way too early. Miami natives everywhere better soak this one up b/c the Dolphins will NEVER win a Superbowl again...EVER! I doubt they'll ever make it to the Superbowl for that matter.:down
...but go Heat!

Beating the upstart Bulls, dominating the rising Nets, finally exorcising those Pistons demons, and pulling off an amazing comeback against the Mavs. An IMPRESSIVE playoff run.

Yes it was, next year should be even better. I kinda expect the same teams back in the Finals. Looking forward to the Draft.

Man its got to suck losing 4 in a row. But the Mavs have nothing to be worried about, theyll be good for years to come.

Congrats to the Heat and their fans. While I am disappointed that all the hard work and determination the Mavs went through means nothing now, I at least take comfort in knowing that critics have to respect them.
No one thought they'd beat the Spurs or the Suns. Either way, it was a great journey and this looks to be a decent rivalry.
While I stand by my belief that the series was rigged and that they intended it for it to be this way, nothing can be done and the Mavs just have to look to get better, work out the kinks, and possibly get a better more physical center or defensive minded guard.
I will say this though, I think Dallas will be there again next season. I don't see the Spurs or the Suns beating them in the playoffs, so either way congrats to the Heat and their fans.

Oh yes, Dallas will be back.. but one thing we really need is a solid center.
