View Full Version : The 'Paul McCartney is dead' phenomenon

This is one of the most intriguing urban legends I've ever come across, and the fact that it lives on today is testament to how wel-concieved it was.
But the inescapable fact is that Paul McCartney is the same guy in all those films from the 60's.

Although it was apparently "Cranberry sauce".

Technically Tomorrow Never Knows would have been recorded before Paul's death, but eerie nonetheless.
Apparently Paul's replacement was Canadian... which raises the question of his accent.

One issue I have with it is that to pull this off, a LOT of people would have had to have been brought in. Surgeons, cops, family members, studio workers, all the people who knew the replacement... and yet no real solid evidence. No one immediately went to the press with it.

this myth confuses me
I'll summarise it:
On a Wednesday morning at about 5 o'clock (The day and time given in the song "She's Leaving Home") Paul McCartney was out for a drive and got in a crash. He was decapitated, face destroyed, whatever(From "A Day in the Life". So, rather than allow the Beatles to die, a replacement was found. He had surgery done to make him look more like the real Paul. John slipped clues to the truth in albums.
However, a lot of people add stuff like the KKK or the Illuminati killing him:confused:

You'd think that if Paul really was dead way back when, there'd actually be some kind of definitive proof at some point, don't you think? Rather than crackpot theories over the Internet (and there are a LOT of crackpots on the Internet), you'd have some undoubtable, definitive proof that he died what - almost FORTY YEARS AGO?!
Paul ain't dead. If he was, somebody, anybody, would have offered some definitive proof instead of ridiculous postulating.

And even the Paul part breaks up under close scrutiny.
Apparently this same George Harrison "interview" from 1992 is being passed off as his death bed confession, which proves to me that somebody just made all this **** up. The part about going to India to put Paul's spirit into William's body is also ridiculous, apparently magical powers and resurrection are real as long as it's only as ridiculous as the rest of the rumour.

The first one is actually pretty disturbing though.
Not only that, but the cover of Sgt. Pepper spells out "Be at leso", which I've been told is an island where Paul's remains rest. Look at the cover to Sgt. Pepper. One of the items on it is described inside as a "Rugby trophy", but it looks a hell of a lot more like an urn. I've also been told that Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds is a list of instructions on how to get to Leso, where the urn rests.
Not only that, but I've seen pics from Germany of the Beatles early days. Upon first look, everything looks fine, but if you look at some recently discovered originals, Paul's face is DOCTORED in several of the pictures... even though nothing else has been changed.

It contains several comparisons between Paul pictures pre-Sgt. Pepper and post. The face doesn't match when they are scientifically synched up, and when you match the guitars in two of the pictures, it's clear that "Paul" is a lot larger post-Sgt. Pepper. The second one also brings up what I mentioned earlier, Billy Pepper and the Pepperpots, a Merseybeat group that exploited the Beatles success back in Liverpool. The Sgt. Pepper cut-out in the record album looks suspiciously like one of the people on the Billy Pepper album cover.

Some people have brought up that John denied any involvement, and John wasn't one to lie or sugarcoat... he admitted that they were saying "tit" in Girl, for instance, and John wasn't one to maintain the myth of the Beatles after it was over, so I can't really see him keeping it a secret. On the other hand, this all came to light shortly after the Manson killings, so admitting that there were ANY hidden messages in Beatles songs would have been EXTREMELY bad publicity.

Because he had died in a car crash (some say an accidental one, some say a car crash caused by the KKK in retribution for the "Bigger than Jesus" comments) and the marketting people weren't about to lose the Beatles money intake.

There are so many conflicting versions that it's hard to get down to the gist of it. The essentials:
Paul died late in 1966, in a car crash.
He was replaced by a lookalike who underwent surgery to look more like the real Paul.
They placed hidden messages in the songs to tip off the public.

Shhh, I'm trying to make people more scared. I've seen one pic that is perfectly lined up, between a teenage Paul and Paul from the 90s, and it basically syncs up.

Abigail Folger, Manson family victim. At least, I think that's who he's talking about:confused:
yeah, I forgot that they not only killed Sharon Tate but other people as well, but for some reason I thought Jhonn was directly responsible or something.

There are so many conflicting versions that it's hard to get down to the gist of it. The essentials:
Paul died late in 1966, in a car crash.
He was replaced by a lookalike who underwent surgery to look more like the real Paul.
They placed hidden messages in the songs to tip off the public.
I guess the main question would be
"to what end?"

Abigail/Manson was just the warm-up.

So if he was replaced why would they let on to us that he was...? And who the hell are billy and the pepperpots? was that a side project of theirs as well?

billy and the pepperpots might just be made up. not hard to fake a band that dissapeared without trace.

The Beatles didn't want to replace Paul, but were being forced into it, according to legend. Before Revolution 9 on the White Album, you hear a discussion in which someone apologises to George Martin for something. Believers have said it was one of the Beatles apologising for slipping clues into the songs.

It was basically just a really bad British Invasion exploitation band that happened to have a member who looks a lot like the Sgt. Pepper cutout.

No, not that we know of. But it's how the whole "Billy Shepperd as the replacement" thing came about.
Frankly, the whole thing makes no sense once you start to work your way through it logically. Most of it is extremely surrealistic, and dumb speculation becomes part of the myth in minutes since the advent of the Internet.

Mostly derives from the badge on Paul's arm on Sgt. Pepper and the line "And so I quit the police department" on "She Came in Through the Bathroom Window".

But most of the time, when I'm on the Hype, I'm getting paid.
As I often get paid for sitting many hours in a chair and deploying the fake-smiles like no one else can....I'm disturbed to see you on the Hype:
1) First thing when I get to work (I mean after I get done opening)
2) All through my workday
3) When I return from my luxurious break
4) When I'm trying to avoid tasks that must be completed before I "punch out".
5) When I'm home and me loved one/s 're "otherwise engaged" and I must drink kegs of whiskey, watch obscure films and check back at the Hype to stay sane.
You seem much too cool to waste your youth on making text-based strangers laugh.
Are you.....going out and getting any? :(

those letters turn up in many mirror images just not in that order normally. i'd be more impressed if you could mirror the top of the center bit and it apearred to say something aswell. but it's probably gibberish so they ignore it. lots of letters have partial symmetry to other symmetrical letters so these things just happen. are the so called ones really ones or Is. are the Os 0s they pick and choose as fits their idea. rather than having an idea based on the evidence. it's the opposite of science and it's the same way apologetics works. then they all call each other loons even tho they are making the same mistakes. i guess they wouldn't make mistakes if they weren't blind to them tho.
