here's a quick helpful hint for your quest:

you don't need to beat Johhny Storm's 4th race to get the Black costume... :up:

you have to beat the 4th race, not the FINAL one. There are 5 races total, not 4 like the guidebook says.

now I'm stuck on the FINAL human torch race, any help would be amazing

Answer: Nope...just looks super slick, no heightened strength or nothing....and he still shoots the webs the same, not out of his fingertips like in the comic.

My hypothesis is 36 Combat Tours, All Tokens, and 100 City Events. Am I right?

Answer: This i'm not sure of....i did all the races except the Final Human Torch race (which is the 4th one...i'm only counting the ones from the Baxter Building, the first race that is part of the actual plot doesn't count in my book), collected all the tokens, and defeated all the combat tours before i finished the 100 city events, and that is when i got the costume.

3. Wait you don't have to beat the HARD Storm race or the insane one? I'm stuck on the hard one and hard races.

Answer: once again...not sure. But it is worth a try to just stop doing the races, focus on the tokens, city events, and combat tours and see where that gets you.

4. Do you also have the Peter Parker costume? I can't seem to get that one.

Answer: I don't have the Peter Parker costume cause i haven't finished the 4th Torch race...Complete 50 City Events, Collect 50 Tokens & Win 4th Race against Johnny Storm. Those are the requirements.

5. I cant find the 2 johnny race does the game tell me when it available?

Answer: more Torch races become available as you beat the races.

I hae all tokens combat tours and street events and no black costume I can't beat the Johnny storm hard race or other hard races. This is the only thing I don't like about this game is the frustrating trick races. They aren't fun and neither is racing storm.

here are some tips for ya:

-Get to know how to run up and then jump off of walls in one smooth motion

-Get your webslinging/boosting/climbing up your weblines down smooth

-never crawl on walls during a race...EVER...and don't wallzipping. Learn how to replace wallcrawling with webziping to a very high jump, rinse and repeat. and remember...the longer you hold down "jump" the higher you go.

-and finally....repetition and persistance is key...do it till ya get it, or you won't :down

By the way...it took me 25 hours on a new file to get all the tokens, combat tours, and races (minus 4th Torch race)...the reason i started over was because i used my token map on my file that i had already completed the game on and i was missing 2 tokens...and there is no way in hell i would go over that check list again.

if you have the same dilemma...start the game from scratch and save yourself the time.

P.S. to give you guys a little help with finding the secrete tokens if having trouble, give the camera up on Spider-man like a police chase camera that way you can see into those alleyways and such, I just need to find 6 more tokens and I beat the game 100% and for the people who are having trouble with the races i'm surprised? The only race I thought was astonishingly hard was the 5th Johny Storm race WTF that one took me three hours to beat. Oh well I;m off to try and find those blasted tokens.

here are some tips for ya:

-if he ever passes you during the race...EVER...you ain't gonna win.

-never walk...at all...don't walk, don't crawl...it's all none-stop webslinging/zipping.

-learn the course the best you can and be as smooth with your slinging as you can.


that's all that can be said about beating Torch...asides from that it's all repitition and your own skill...there's not magic about it.

You will begin as Peter Parker on the roof of his house with MJ.

Thank You! But, it is going to be challeging a little bit and I am have trouble getting past the 2nd Johnny Storm race. Those spheres you have pass through are too high! I got through the first three, but the rest are not easy to go through. Got any tips? And by the way I started a new game on another file and I focused on getting all the tokens during the story mode. So far I have I found all 100 Secret Tokens, all 15 Landmark Tokens, and I have 17 Comic Book Cover Tokens left to find. When you collect tokens for the first time it says "Collect more tokens use them to unlock costumes" or something like that. I read somewhere that you can collect all of the tokens and complete whatever else is needed to get them(costumes) during the story mode, but you will have to wait until the story mode is beaten to get them(once again costumes).I hope by doing this I will get the black costume with out having to do 59/60 races. I hope I am right!

I just got the PC version and used a cheat patch. No way in hell were I going to do all that ridiculous stuff to get the suit.

And in the end I didn't even like it. Too much damn purple. And I like purple.

They should make USM 2 and have it take place in the clone saga. Like Peter and Jessica will be the two playable characters. And have it take place a bit before it, during it, and after it. People might complain and say "Well what's the point of playing a game directly based off of the comic, you'll know everything that will happen?!" But I'd rather know what's going to happen and have fun and say get to my favorite part....Then do a lot of crap and be sent on wild goose chases.

DBZ games are the exact same story every game..Yet they have fun gameplay. In fact, fans enjoy getting to their favorite parts. So why not do a game that is CLEARLY official and taking place in the story, rather than one they say is but none of it is true.

You can't even play any of the bosses with the black costume unless you do like Nathan said and use a cheat patch. At least in DBZ, you can go ssj3 any time once you unlock it.
