I don't think she'd go with the Brotherhood...I mean, her home is with the X-Men. I don't know what to make of that one. Maybe she finally realizes her home is with the X-Men and she never realized that before? Well...maybe. lol.

Its good to see that they are updating the Ultimate guide. Maybe they will add in new character profiles. And update the book to coincide with the history of the X-Men in 2003-2005.
On the Rogue thing, the Brotherhood must be the new home. Out of all of the characters in X3, I'm most curious to see what happens to Rogue at the end of this film.
I believe it will have reprecussions on where the franchise goes from there.

Synopsis
Wolverine, Storm, Rogue and all your favourite mutants return in the third installment of this amazing series. Brilliantly retold with all the excitement and tension of this action packed movie, this movie novelisation brings the world of the "X-Men" to life. Vinnie Jones and Kelsey Grammer join an already star studded cast, under the direction of Brett Ratner, to bring to life this amazing third part in the "X-Men" franchise. Wolverine and the team are back but how will they cope with the death of Jean Grey and mounting attacks from the non-mutant and mutant population! I wouldn't be so sure about that.http://www.superherohype.com/forums/images/icons/icon6.gif
If there is a new set of X-Men films like X4-X6, I would believe that Psylocke is too big of a character to not include.
Plus, she is still considered by most of fandom to be the "sexiest X-character ever."
Drooling at the possibility of some hot actress getting to play this part............

X-Men 3: Rogue Finds a Home - April 2006
by Tbd, Mark W. McVeigh, Harry Lime

Since there's no synopsis and the fact that it comes out before the movie, I'd bet anything that it has to deal with the time between when she ran away from her original home until she came to live with the X-Men, from back in X1. There's no way that they would release something that would have major movie spoilers in it before the film came out.

Rogue possibly going to the Brotherhood huh? Could be interesting...
And the thing with that "Gambit with braces" pic is, where it was taken from...coz if it's taken from the Ultimate books, then doesn't really change matters much (as it's not the Regular 616 Universe Gambit) as the Gambit there has a perm. :p and he's dead there anyways.
That is of course if this pic was taken from the Ultimate books.

It must mean Rogue is joining the brotherhood in this one. I can't think of any other place that would be considered a new home for her. Besides, I remember the AICN script review gave away things about her going to brotherhood meetings. If that's what happends, that's great news for me. This is a sign of accuracy to the 616 Rogue's early years.
Meh, it's probably nothing.I highly doubt this is exactly what's going on in the movie. With the script unfinished and filming yet to be completed,I wouldn't look too far into this as so many of you have.

Unfinished script? They have filmed half of the film. There wont be any drastic storyline changes now.
uhh, i dont consider this a spoiler... like someone else said, its probably going to be just an 'old' new book, i .e her finding her home in the x-men... why would she join the brotherhood if magneto tried to KILL her?
I thought it was pretty clear they were coming up with ideas as they were filming.Sure it might be a late now,and hopefully that's not the case.
But still,I'm not looking into this info hard. You guys are only going to give yourselves headaches!

Are you blind? Did you even bother to look at the release date? April 2006. A month before X3 comes out. There is no way on this earth that they would release a story about her leaving the X-Men and joining the Brotherhood if it was a point in the movie. What it does suggest is that it is a story about the time between when the ran away to when she arrived at the Institute in X1.

The major plot points would probably impossible to change at this stage. Only minor changes will be made throughout the rest of the filming.

It's the theory that this "Rogue finds a Home" title means she is joining the Brotherhood that we find impossible. Again, the book comes out about a month before the movie. It would be a rather dumb move to put something that would be a rather decent sized plot point out that early and would completely kill that part of the movie as far as suspense was concerned.

The prequels for X1 already show what happened to Rogue since she ran away from home. A huge chunk of that never made the movie. She was captured, held with various other mutants and escaped.
This book will *probably* show how she comes to learn her home is with the X-Men as a mutant accepting her abilities.
The books always seem to come out just before the movie. I always buy them before, in case they sell out, but put them aside until after the movie so that I don't spoil myself with too many details.

You're all saying how they wouldn't release a spoilerish book a month before the movie comes out.
Umm... I bought Star Wars Eps. I-III in the last week of April, and those all came out in May.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the X2 novelization came out at the end of April as well. I recall reading it, getting all pumped about seeing Gambit, Psylocke, and Bobby's ice form, and then being kind of disappointed by the movie.
If you recall, they altered the ending of the X2 novel so as not to spoil the movie.
considering that book is for ages 4-8, i dont really think its going to have spoilers. Its going to be a kid friendly book where rogue joins the x men and finally has a home

It's so nice that they took the time to mention Cyclops in these . . . oh wait they've completely ignored him, big surprise. Which begs the question again have any of these people read an X-Men comic?

If there is a new set of X-Men films like X4-X6, I would believe that Psylocke is too big of a character to not include.
Brett said he will be doing 3, 4 and 5 and Apacolypse will apear in 4 or 5.

Scholastic does the "Pre-Release" for every movie. Batman, X-men 1 and 2, star wars 1-6, spiderman 1 and 2, daredevil, electra, hulk, punisher. They had the big version and the little version containing photos in the middle of the book (thats why I bout star wars 3 in the little version because it came with 6 pages of colour screenshots in the middle of the book) So I believe it will come out a month or two before the film.

well anyway back on topic...
Claremont is writting the novelization again eh? looks like this book too is going to veer off into comic-book-land again and screw with the movie continuity.[/QUOTE]
I was thinking the same thing. I guess that means that Wolverine will be a short ugly troll, Rogue will be a 15 year old, and Jean will keep reminding herself and the readers that she's a DOCTOR!
Why Claremont? A chimp with a laptop could write a better novelization.

Storm will have long flowing hair, be six feet tall, and have blue cat eyes.
Rogue will be a red head, with bright emerald eyes, and a thick as all hell Southern accent.
random mutant cameos will occur that won't happen in the movie - i'm excited.

I hope no one's expecting either of those last two books to be any kind of hardcore stuff. Look at the stats for it. Ages 4-8. 24 pages. Most of the author's past work is Disney books, and all the rest aren't much better. These are just kiddie books. Heck, a good chunk of those on the first page are the same way.

Unauthorized X-Men : SF and Comic Writers on Mutants, Prejudice, and Adamantium (Smart Pop series) - April 1, 2006
by Len Wein (Editor)
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1932100741/qid=1132482961/sr=1-26/ref=sr_1_26/103-6293845-6267801?v=glance&s=books
Book Description
Uncanny. Extraordinary. Astonishing. The X-Men have been called many things over the years, but whats truly uncanny, extraordinary and astonishing about them is their endurance. Since the X-Mens arrival on the comics scene in 1963, the Marvel series central conceitmutants fighting to protect a world that fears and often hates themhas remained fresh and timely through multiple generations and multiple reinventions, as well as multiple mediums (including the latest summer blockbusters, X-Men, X2: X-Men United and the upcoming X-Men 3, due out May 2006).
The essays in The Unauthorized X-Men show why. In it, contributors trace the series evolution and challenge its metaphors, and draw from its stories truths about human nature and human society. From real mutant subcultures in our world to the reality of racism and heterosexism not so different from that of the X-Men, The Unauthorized X-Men takes on the intersection between fiction and truth in a volume perfect for the long-time comic readers and cartoon fans and Johnny-come-lately movie fans.
About the Author
The Unauthorized X-Men is edited by Len Wein, co-creator of the New X-Men. In his work for Marvel, Wein had a hand in the creation of such classic X-Men characters as Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Colossus and Storm, as well as writing for Amazing Spider-Man, Fantastic Four and The Incredible Hulk. In addition, he has worked as Editor-in-Chief of Marvel Comics, Disney Comics and Top Cow Comics, as well as Senior Editor at DC Comics. Found details on a brand new X-Men book thats in the works as we speak. A real must-have for the fans is coming this autumn!
From The Official Homepage of author Michael Mallory:
I have spent a good part of the year in the company of mutants. No, I'm not getting into politics, I was researching and writing a new book titled X-Men: The Characters and Their Universe, which will be published by Hugh Lauter Levin and Associates in October 2006. It is another coffee-table sized book (attach four legs and you've got a coffee table!) that provides the history of the X-Men from their inception in Marvel Comics through their various media adaptations, up to and including the upcoming feature film X-Men 3. Doing books like this one is always a delight because I get to meet and talk to the people behind the comics, cartoons and films, and this time around the list included the likes of Stan Lee, director Bryan Singer (who is contributing the book's foreword), and actors Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Famke Janssen, Rebecca Romijn and Sir Ian McKellen. This book is a follow-up to my 2001 tome Marvel: The Characters and Their Universe, which came out in a new Barnes and Noble edition last fall.Source: http://www.michaelmallory.com/news.htm

She had been depowered in the comics but apparently allowed Sage to 'restart' her like she did Gambit. Makes ya wonder.

I searched but didn't find this surprisingly here? If it is somewhere else merge it.
The novelization of X3, written by Chris Claremont and based on the screenplay by Zak Penn and Simon Kinberg, is scheduled for release on May 16 from Del Rey.
Here's how the 352-page book is described:
"The X-Men, mutant heroes sworn to defend a world that hates and fears them, are back! This time, with the help of new recruits The Beast and Angel, they must face evolution itself in the form of their former teammate, Jean Grey! Possessed with the cosmic power of the Dark Phoenix, the resurrected Jean Grey has become a danger to herself, her mutant comrades, and the entire planet! To stave off this imminent threat to humanity, a potential cure is discovered and processed to treat -- and ultimately eliminate -- genetic mutations, once and for all! Now, as the battle lines are drawn, the X-Men, led by Professor Charles Xavier, must contend with both Jean Grey's world-consuming powers, as well as the malevolent Brotherhood, a band of powerful mutants organized under Xavier's former ally, Magneto!" http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/0601/21/xsoundth.jpg (http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/0601/21/xsound.htm)
Claremont, who also wrote the X2 novelization, make a non-speaking cameo in X3.
In other X3 news:
* Fox UK has released a new image of the film, featuring Professor Xavier (Patrick Stewart), Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Storm (Halle Berry) and Beast (Kelsey Grammer). Click on the image above for a larger image.
* The X3 Junior novel is written by Danny Fingeroth and will be in stores on May 1 fromer Harper Kids. * HarperKids also will be publishing the Official Movie Scrapbook. The 48-page book is set for release on April 1. There will also be a Deluxe Sound Storybook.

About the Kids book
http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/0601/25/index.htm
Boyd Kirkland and Steve Gordon, who worked on the X-Men: Evolution animated series, have returned to the characters in a line of books from HarperKids based on the third X-Men movie.
"I'm doing illustrations for a couple of their early reader books for children based on the movie, following character designs by Steve Gordon," said Kirkland, who was a producer, writer and director on X-Men: Evolution, which ran four seasons on Kids' WB!.
Kirkland said the books have kept him busy the last few months, but he looks to get back into animation soon.
Kirkland worked on X-Men 3: Rogue Finds a Home and X-Men 3: Teaming Up.
Gordon, who designed most of the characters in X-Men: Evolution and did designs for the Ultimate Avengers movies, worked on X-Men 3: Meet the X-Men, X-Men 3: Beast Chooses Sides and X-Men 3: Coloring and Activity Book and Crayons.
Both of the covers above were by Gordon.
The books were written by Harry Lime and Catherine Hapka.

My bet is they'll just take a lot of liberties on the actual film and put in a lot more dumbed down stuff, or even tell stories of stuff that supposedly happen off screen.

I don't get how they'll have children's books with all the suppossed death/carnage in this film.
Once upon a time there was a group of homosapiens and a group of mutants. The homosapiens didnt like the mutants very much so they told them to go away.
A man woke up one morning and discovered he had found a cure for the mutants so that they could turn into humans and everyone could live happily ever after. A man with blue hair called Beast didnt know whether he wanted the cure or not. "Hmmm" Beast thought to himself. Beast decided to go round to his friends house and ask him what to do.
Meanwhile a lady with long red called Jean fell into a lake and then jumped back out. A man called Wolverine took her home and they looked after her. Jean woke up to everyones suprise, however she was very angry because she didnt want to go into the lake.
A man with no hair called Xavier asked Jean why she was angry. "You blocked my powers and that is not a nice thing to do" she replied. Jean then ran away to her parents house.
A lady with white hair called Storm went with Wolverine and Xavier to say sorry. However, a group of naughty mutants were there aswell. They wanted to take Jean because she had lots of power and they wanted her to fight the humans.
The naughty mutants won and took Jean with them. After a nice sleep they walked to the big bridge and saw that the humans were at the other side had guns and many dangerous weapons. A man with a helmet on called Magneto accidentally made the bridge fall into a nearby prison. CRASH! The prison had many other naughty mutants so Magneto was happy.
The mutants and humans then had a big fight. They fought and fought until they could fight anymore. Suddenly, Xavier, Wolverine, Storm and many other nice mutants appeared. "Were sorry Jean!" they bellowed. "Okay" said Jean. The nice mutants went home with Jean and the naughty mutants were put back in the prison. Everyone lived happily ever after.
The End.

A real must-have book coming in October. Info and description from the publsihers and authors official site.
X-MEN The Characters and Their Universe by Michael Mallory
http://img95.imageshack.us/img95/2382/xmen8vo.jpg
They are more than simply humans...they possess something extra...they are the X-Men. Among the most popular superhero characters of our time, Marvel Comics' "X-Men" are also among the most distinctive teams to emerge from the plethora of costumed crime fighters. "Sworn to protect a world that hates and fears them," the mutant X-Men face not only against diabolically evil villains, but also the bigotry and prejudice of those for whom they fight. X-Men: The Characters and Their Universe tells the story of this unique band of comic book heroes from their creation in 1963 by the dream team of writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby, through their late 1970s re-emergence as a platform for socially and politically relevant storytelling, and up to the present as one of the globe's hottest franchises. This colorful, lavishly-illustrated volume also traces how the characters have been adapted into the media of television and film, including the groundbreaking 1992 animated series and the blockbuster feature films.
Through exclusive interviews with many of the key creators and contributors to the X-Men Universe from all media—among them Stan Lee, Chris Claremont and John Romita from the comics, and Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Sir Ian McKellen, Bryan Singer and Brett Ratner from the world of film—X-Men: The Characters and Their Universe tells the complete story of how these strange and often unlikely heroes have transcended the illustrated page to become part of our collective consciousness.
For fans of the comic books, this volume also provides a unique one-source catalogue of every major character that appeared from 1963 to the present, including all the various teamings of characters, the significant comic book series, the various character relationships and evolutions, and the classic storylines that have all woven together over the decades to create the dazzlingly complex and fascinating tapestry of world of mutants. X-Men: The Characters and Their Universe is a book that no fan of Marvel Comics, of super heroics, of animation and action adventure filmmaking, even of popular culture of the late 20th century itself, will want to be without.I have spent a good part of the year in the company of mutants. This book is a follow-up to my 2001 tome Marvel: The Characters and Their Universe, which came out in a new Barnes and Noble edition last fall.

Hmmm....Beasts sounds the best....
Rogue could just flat out leave, and not find a new home with the brotherhood, as wondered about before when we heard the title....

I hope she doesn't take the cure. I can imagine it must have been very difficult for the filmmakers to decide (like Shuler Donner) who dies and who takes the cure.

It seems that way, but I guess they assume nobody would just read the books.
Just see the books as a good read an extra, then enjoy the movies seperatly.

Hey guys,
I was just looking everywhere online
And it appears X3 will not be released as a Graphic Novel.
That is what I was looking forward to.
Am I wrong or was there a reason they did not do a Comic Book version of X3???
If they are going to release it, does anyone know when will it come out??
Thanks.

This should probably be merged with the thread we already have about the books.
The world has acquired a lethal new weapon against X-gene mutants, whose superhuman powers separate them—for better, for worse, forever—from ordinary mortals. Now, for the first time, mutants have a choice: retain their godlike abilities, though their powers may isolate and alienate them, or surrender them and become human. The mutant antibody is called a cure, but its invention may trigger a struggle that destroys every living soul on Earth.
As Magneto declares all-out war against humanity and its dreaded cure, the U.S. president mobilizes the military. But it is Charles Xavier and the X-Men who truly must brace for the ultimate battle, for they alone are powerful enough to determine the outcome.
Lessons of the past are useless in the coming life-and-death conflict, as new players—mutants possessing unprecedented, unearthly skills— take center stage. With so many joining forces with Magneto’s evil Brotherhood, the X-Men will face their ultimate test against an enemy whose forces far outnumber their own.
Now, as the world trembles, the Phoenix slowly rises. . . .
:)
I sort of like the first one.
