My choice for a name for the sequel is "Batman Stands Alone"....obviously eliminating any chance of a Robin!! Little F**ker..hate him...

you are correct sir, it is the name of one of the most beloved Joker tales around.
If WB dares go outside the rhelms of two word titles, The Killing Joke would be number one in my book.
I also like Batman: Dark Knight, Batman: The Man Who Laughs and Batman: Joker's Wild (probably my favorite).
I think Batman:Escalation makes perfect sense, maintains continuity and has a nice sound to it.

What's wrong with Robin? Is it the guy who played him in the movies, or the actual character you guys hate so much? The character I like, and I like the movie interpretation. Batman and Robin was good, except for George Clooney. He could not play Batman if he tried, and he did try. Val Kilmer did an ok job.

B&R sucked- period. but not because of robin. because of schumacher....and clooney.
anyways, i like robin. hes just as much a part of the batman history like joker or alfred. i dont think he'll show in these films, cuz there only gonna do three MAYBE four with this cast/crew. i think WB should wait 5 maybe even 10 yrs so they can make a new trilogy with a brand new cast and continue the story then. they could do Batman/Robin trilogy or somethin and there (for all those who hate robin so much) do a "Death in the Family"-type story and have him killed in the end of the trilogy.
but to get back to topic, i dont mind Escalation, but id rather see Batman Dark Knight....something along those lines

I like Clooney, and actually I liked Clooney more then Kilmer (I hated Forever), however Schumacher gave him crap to work with. Best thing is, Clooney - unlike Schumacher - appolgized and took the blame for B&R.
My biggest reason for not wanting is Robin is that he really lightens up Batman, after all thats why he was added to the comic - to draw CHILDREN into the series. I agree with Bob Kane who later regretted adding Robin to Bats.

How can anyone be a true Batman fan and hate Robin? He's there. It's truly inevitable! Not that I agree with bringing him into the franchise, but I mean like I said it's there. But this Thread truly serves no purpose whatsoever, it's just adding fuel to the fire.

well if they do something "Death in the Family" related, im sure readers who hate the robin/jason todd will enjoy seeing him die, and mainstream fans will see robin can be as serious a character with flaws as batman is. its jus up to the writers.
interested fact about Clooney though. i was wondering what the cast thinks about the movie after i tanks.

By the way, the sequel choice for me. (As of right now). Would be Batman The Dark Knight. Only because it shows what Batman has turned himself into over the course of time. First movie Batman Begins, second Batman The Dark Knight, third Batman Forever! haha. (That was a joke!) No one take that serious and flame me! Anyway, if not Batman The Dark Knight. Maybe Escalation or The Killing Joke (In respect of The Joker, of course).

I thought Vla Kilmer was better than George Clooney. He seemed to serious as Bruce Wayne, who really isn't serious, at least not to the public. Plus, in BF, they had that cool flashback when Bruce was a kid, and fell in the cave. Kinf of like BB.

On the issue of Robin, Robin wouldn't necessarily turn the franchise into a Lucky Charms commercial or a Sesame Street episode or anything. If the partnership was written similar to Bruce and Carrie in DKR then the franchise will still be dark enough that you can't see where you're going.
Name? I saw in another thread "Batman Strikes". That's the best one I've heard so far.

By the way, George Clooney as Batman seemed too normal, he didn't feel like a loner, not like he wanted to become a vigilante. Michael Keaton. Yes. Val Kilmer. Yes. Christian Bale. Yes. Clooney. No.

According to Sir Michael Caine the name of the second Batman movie is:
Sir Michael Caine on favourite films and actors
"One of my favourite films of all time is Point Blank. I love Lee Marvin, he’s another one of my favourite actors. I never met Bogart but I knew Lee very well. I thought Point Blank was a knockout gangster movie, really that’s the one I loved. That’s why I wanted to do Get Carter, I wanted to try and do a movie like that.
I’ve been an actor for a very long while, 52 years. I’ve always been a leading actor in a movie rather than a movie star based on one personality. You get some movie stars who refuse to do thing saying [affects a pompous tone] “Michael Caine wouldn’t do that”. In my case I would do anything, change my hair, my voice, looks whatever.
My definition of the difference between a movie star and a movie actor is that a movie star gets the script and says how can I change this to suit me? Whereas the movie actor gets the script and says how can I change me to suit this?
You don’t retire from the movies, they retire you. The scripts stop coming or the money is too small to make it worthwhile getting up in the morning. The way I work, I regard myself as retired; I only come out of retirement for offers I can’t refuse. I haven’t worked for a year but I wanted to play Batman’s butler, I wanted to play Nicole’s dad in Bewitched and there’s another film, The Weatherman where I played Nicolas Cage’s dad. They were all parts that fascinated me. I wasn’t ready for a lead after The Quiet American, which was a tough role for me and cured me of playing leads for a while.
Now I will do something there are three pictures I want to do, small parts. One [Children of Men, released September 2006] is with Alfonso Cuaron who directed Y tu Mama Tambien, I wanted to work with him and then Christopher Nolan who directed Batman is doing a smaller film called The Prestige about magicians and it’s very interesting. And we’re going to make The Joker next year. "

Batman Reigns
Batman Endures
Batman: Devolution
Batman: The Killing Joke
Batman: Mantle of the Bat

I've always liked the idea of naming it after the villain in a subtler type of way, which is why I would have rather had Intimidation Game for BB, then The Killing Joke instead of The Dark Knight, and then something like Duality for the third film. Using The Dark Knight as the beginning of the title would be a nice alternative to using Batman. So:
The Dark Knight: Intimidation Game
The Dark Knight: The Killing Joke
The Dark Knight: Duality
