^ Basically... if you love the debut album, and you love Jack Black... you'll love this movie, basically a song every 5 minutes and an hour and half of Jable's flaunting his talents.
Tim Robbin's cameo is so f***ing funny, Ben Stiller's isn't bad, Colin Hanks is a blink-and-you'll-miss-it and Dave Grohl's devil is so gooood!
And thanks, I absolutely adore BTILC!

There was was a married couple with their teenage son behind us talking to their young couple friends and said Jack Black films are great because everyone can see them. He doesn't swear etc. So he wasn't aware of his other appearences outside Nacho Libre, School of Rock, Shallow Hal etc. Plus the couple that joined them didn't know what the movie really was. So when the movie started of course they were in for a surprise.
It perhaps wasn't as epic as one would hope but it gets the job done. If you're a fan of JB and KG you'll enjoy the film.
I was disappointed that The Greatest Song in the World wasn't performed or at least heard over the credits. The film needed something like that for the ending. Some great one liners. I don't know how non-fans would think of the film but you could see worse.

Dave Grohl reprising hi role as the demon was freaking fantastic. Bezzlebos is the D best song. *sidenote. I read there interview in MAXIM. KG and JB seem like really cool and funny guys and what I thought was cool is that they dubbed Grohl and honorary third member of the D. Coolio.
Okay, Bezzlebos was cool but master exploder is not chop liver. best is when JB comes out throws the mic away and starts to sing. Kg's doubles were really funny. Just the look on his face and the way he delivered those lines was just glorious.
Oh and what about the awesome ben stiller cameo? give him some props. he wasnt that funny, but he did do a good job on convincing me.

I loved the movie...my only gripe was they perfectly set up "Tribute" at the end and didn't go for it.
"How did that song go?"
"I can't remember..."
(as "Tribute" goes..."and the song we sang on that fateful night, it didn't actually sound anything like this song"...perfect set-up.)
Alas...but aside from that, it was awesome.

One of the best comedies all year. I absolutely loved everything about it.
1) best dream sequence (master exploder)
2) best trip out (sass)
3) best break in enter rock out.

If you're a fan of Jack Black, Tenacious D or both yes.... 100% yes.
If you don't have an opinion or are a newcomer, it's still worth a watch as it's still a really funny film.

Copped the D on DVD last week. Watched in sober and then watched it on acid. Good the first time. Great the second.
The opening musical sequence was brilliant.
Best line of the movie: "You're my Baby Sass, JB." :woot:
