I agree on the shoes. But she probably thought it would work better with the earrings. *shrugs* I didn't expect Kristin to get it right for once. The girl sometimes lacks a bit of fashion sense. She is lucky she is such a beauty. :p

For once I would love to see her hair with curls. Much like Erica always does. Cause Kristin looks so damn good with curls. And maybe a form fitting dress. But she usually downplays her body so I don't expect she will change anytime soon.

It's no big surprise that I think KK is the most beautiful, if only because she is the most natural beauty, and I think that's a rare thing to find on TV these days. But it's almost like they are purposely dressing her frumpy. AM is always dressed in bright, cute, tailored jackets that flatter her figure. And ED, can wear just about anything and make it look good, but they do make a point of playing up her most obvious assets.

I know KK is said to be pretty modest in RL. I wonder if she gets some say in what she wears on the show, and in promos?

Erica is only that beautiful with a rocking body because she had help there. If you know what I mean. And if you look at an HQ promo of her from Season 6 you will see just how they photoshopped the wrinkles from her face. Because she got them.

I always thought Allison fits into the cute category. Now her face looks thinner and they have her wear something classic. It suits her. I think those are her best promos yet.

I'm a fan of natural beauty. So when it comes down to it KK first. Hands down. Then Allison. Then Erica.

I have resigned myself to the idea that Clana is as done as Disco. But I still love my show, and I still love seeing KK. So I'm looking forward to seeing this season, even the Lexana. After rewatching Vessel tonight, I was really impressed with their scene towards the end when he told her about himself and shot his hand. I think they both want this to work, and he is giving something to her that Clark never could - a promise to never lie to her.

Of course, he won't keep that promise.. he is Lex Luthor after all :), but I do think they both want this to work.

I also think that KK gets a kick out of MR. She's mentioned in several interviews how crazy he is. I bet he's a lot of fun to work with.. and he obviously thinks she's beautiful, I remember interviews where he's said so.

I hope I'm not the only Clana fan left watching.. but from what I've seen, I think I will be. :(

yea their is a near 0 chance of the show going past a 7th season IMO. Im stillnot sure how they are gonna drag this show out to a season 7, how much longer can Clark ignore his "destiny".Also Can you blame Kruek and Rosenbaum for being tired of the show? Then you make a reply posting saying how hopeless it is, and I come back and reply to your reply saying it isn't hopeless and then you reply and so on and so on....

This might be breaking news but 95% of the pics I get of TW go to James. He also has bigger versions of al the new promos I happen to have bigger. It's up to him to post them whenever he wants.

We've had this convo before, I think, about that other place where posting back to back is considered spamming, but you can post back to back to back to back to back, ad infinitum here.

I don't totally disagree with you avid. But there were a few specifics you made in your post on SDK's blog that I did disagree with. I don't want to copy your comment here without your permission though.

I think the gist of it was that it was hard to feel sympathy for Lana when Clark broke up with her in Hypnotic because we had seen her break up with him in Reckoning. I disagree that she even broke up with him in Reckoning. She needed a break after once again having her hopes built up that he was going to tell her everything, then having them dashed with no explanation. But as of the very next episode, Vengeance, she was out hitting all the pawn shops in Metropolis to find Jonathan's watch for him. Couples fight, take a breather, and resume the relationship all the time. I never saw that scene in Reckoning as a "break-up" and I'm always surprised that so many people did.

The episode right before Hypnotic was Cyborg - and they were very much a couple in love in that. That carried into Hypnotic, where in that opening scene you had Lana telling Clark - what so many Lana-haters had been *****ing about for so long - that he didn't have to tell her anything until he was ready.. and that she'd wait as long as it took. I mean.. damn. What more could she do?
And then, she sees him about to do another girl. The pain of that alone would be almost too much to recover from.. but she does. She tells him it's okay and she understands it wasn't him. Then he doesn't just break up with her, he tells her that he simply doesn't love her anymore.

I don't know how you can't feel sympathy for her after all that. (Not "you" just generic "you.").

This takes nothing away from the realization that Clark's motivations are all because he's trying to protect her. That's a given.. it's just not something that she has any way of knowing so it's not fair to factor that into judging her reaction.

Anyway.. did I address your comment accurately?
I do agree in general with your assessment though - Lana is the most inconsistently written main character on that show. I'm not sure why that is though. In general, I'm not very fond of how they've written any of the female characters on that show. But that's another long ranting post. :)

I was with you on the break up in Reckoning. She did need a break after she felt like she had been let down, AGAIN. But that "break" had such a huge impact that we the audience couldnt help but carry it over to subsequent episodes without thinking that it was something that had been playing on her mind. Her comment at the beginning of Hypnotic was so out of wack with her previous thoughts and conversations that it didnt have the impact that it was supposed to have by episode's end when Clark broke it off with her.

I dont want to argue the merits of Clark's decision, as we both know that even though he was hurtful he had the right intentions and it pains me to no end to see Lana believing that she's living a life of bliss with Lex when he was behind that hypnotic bimbo in the first place. :cmad:

This takes nothing away from the realization that Clark's motivations are all because he's trying to protect her. That's a given.. it's just not something that she has any way of knowing so it's not fair to factor that into judging her reaction.

You're able to see things from her point of view, but she's not written that way and yet I think they, the writers, expect the audience to sympathise with her, but they cant because of some of the instances that I've pointed out. I think that's where the frustration with the character lies.

This season they seem to be trying to write her ambiguously the way they do Lionel, but it doesnt work with a character like Lana because her character has never been given that much depth before. However, this whole thing is very strange in light of the fact that she's been so strong in the past... kicking butt in Precipace, heading off to Paris alone at the end of the 3rd season in Covenant, leaving Smallville last season even though her boyfriend didn't like it. She was strong in doing that because she was persuing what she wanted to persue despite what Clark wanted....

I think it's cool you are being fair. I like that. But I still think you give them too much credit. I wouldn't ever say they know where they are wanting to go. In S4 AlMiles admitted that they just started it out and knew the end but had no idea how to play it out through episode 2-21. And that's sad really. It's no wonder the witch stuff was such crap in the end. I have seen good theories and storylines about that too. A lot of stuff is usually started on this show that gets nowhere. And at the end of the season you will scratch your head off thinking wth just happened. But I guess that's Smallville for you.

But as to make this about Kristin. I still want her out of the show. For good. Neither producers nor writers (and SDK admitted to that) care for Lana or want to write her. What does that tell you? The treatment of her character is the worst I have seen on television yet. All they make her be is the pretty face and the prize tag to hang on some guy arm. And when they actually do put her into the good storylines for once...into the action...it's not good either. Because action for Lana usually means being stabbed with something, getting thrown at/in/against something or being choked. There is a reason Lana was labeled 'most abused female character on television'. Because it's becoming obvious. And I hate it. I rather they write her out of the show for good.

Makes the Lana haters happy. The Clana haters happy. The anti-shippers happy and us Kreuk fans they would make extremely happy. I know they would make me happy. I would write Kristin a card with big letters on it 'Congratulations for finally being free of this crap'. I really would. Because Kristin lets everyone know how she feels. You learn to read between the lines. Because that's how she does it. She is subtle but it gets the point across. And she ain't happy. Hasn't been for a while. Stupid contract.

I can't wait for February to come. Partition will be out. And I can enjoy KK as the female lead. As a strong woman. A strong loving woman.

I understand what you are saying, Jana, and I do know where you are coming from regarding KK's frustrations. But I'm honestly not ready to give up. As annoyed as I am about Static, it's still just one episode. We have a lot more episodes to go this season, and I'm hanging on to hope that they are going to do right by her character eventually. I could be just a blind optimist, but so be it.

I still enjoy watching her on the show - Witch, Vampire, Lex's arm candy, or just as Clark's first love - I'd rather have her on my favorite show than not have her on at all.

For a character with a strong sense of self, no, but for Lana it seems to fit a pattern she's had since the beginning of the series. In Void she was literally killing herself to see her parents because of an incurable loneliness she felt even when she was with others and even when she was in a relationship with Clark. What type of stable and well balanced person does that? She offered sex to Jason to hold on to him when she misinterpreted something he said. She initiated a break from Clark, yet kept coming back for reassurances from him. Asking if he loved her.

Lana has always displayed xenophobic tendencies and perhaps for good reason considering how often she was the victim of the meteor freaks. In Extinction when she saw the photo of the boy who attacked her and took a look at the gills on his neck, she said it was disgusting. She also didn't want the Kryptonian device destroyed that Zod had used because she felt it was the only thing that could be used to destroy them should they return.

I'm not saying she's so xenophobic that she'd call Newcomers from Alien Nation 'slags' if they heckled her at the Laugh Factory, but she might carry a bottle of sea water in her purse just in case. Lana has been all over the map. She offered sex to Jason to hold on to him, but then turned around and staged a robbery scene, complete with ransacking her own apartment to test his loyalty to her. What normal person does that? She told Lex to hold onto the device, then wondered if it was more important to him than she was. She called the mutant's gills disgusting, but in the exact same episode she told Clark it would be OK with her if he was a mutant. Which of these Lanas is the real Lana?

If they've seen the same Lana through the years that I've seen, they're not scratching their heads at all. She's acting true to form, but I have a feeling this arc will finally wake her up and she'll realize that the relationship she needs most desperately is one with Lana Lang. Instead of trying to contact her dead parents, or finding fulfillment in a doomed relationship, or even in being a mother, she'll concentrate on finding herself. I can see her recouping a friendship with Clark and possibly even knowing his secret and realizing what it took Chloe a long time to realize too, that friendship with Clark, not romance, is their best destiny.

I know she's been other things (a cheerleader, a coffee shop owner, an art student, a witch (literally LOL)), but the most common lay concept of Lana Lang is "Clark Kent's childhood sweetheart." That's how I described her for YEARS (long before SV), and yet, even after six years of exposition on SV, I still fall back on that description because nothing else really fits.

Y'know, some people have said they think Kreuk is unhappy with what the writers have done with Lana. Gee... I can't imagine why? LOL [sarcasm] So if Kreuk is unhappy with how Lana is being written - and she should be in-the-know to some degree on why Lana is being written the way she is - it kind of tells me something's amiss.

But I don't need Kreuk to tell me that because I see it myself. As a character, Lana is a sweet human being who's just looking for happiness and her place in life. But her "destiny" isn't that special to warrant (IMHO) six seasons of meandering just so she can learn to accept herself for who she is. That works GREAT for Clark Kent, and maybe even Lex, but Lana? I dunno.........

Well that's true, but in Smallville's story Lana is playing a bigger part than usual. Since we know she ends up being left behind and playing out her days in Smallville, or whatever it is she does, I think we need to understand what makes her want to do this.

Her "all over the place" character kind of sets those wheels in motion. I dont think its all deliberate on the writing front, it does have a "make it up as we go along" feel to it, but its still fitting with the character. She doesnt and cant find any real purpose in life, and probably wont be able to until she at least learns about Clark and Lex.

Remember her mother's wish that her children might make a difference. I somehow feel that this is going to play a part in the bitter-sweet ending that we get between Clark and Lana and after that she may be content to live out her days as a small town girl, running a coffee shop.

It not exactly being my favorite episode I haven't watched that since season 4, but at the end of the episode after Jason left I thought she had taken the stone out of the drain pipe, I presume, to see if it was still there.

That wasn't how I interpreted that scene. I thought she staged it the break-in to throw Jason off about where the stone was. She hid it from him and pretended it was taken. I don't think she was looking for his reaction, although that may have been part of it, I think she just wanted to hide the stone from him at that point, but keep it safe.



I think it was a bit of both, but there was no doubt in my mind that she set it up.

Why would she do that if she staged the break-in?

If you keep up with KK's interviews (and I'm sure Jana has much more than I have) it does seem like she's more than ready to move on. That combined with comments she's been overheard to make - the ones from Thirst come to mind - add up to the suspicion that maybe she's not very pleased with things.

But it is mostly speculation, that's true.

Kristin is a very subtle person. Of course she has to be. Coming flat out with her opinion would be breaking contract rules after all. With consequences. But if you keep up with interviews, be it written or video you learn how to interpret what she says. Just an example. If I remember it right lol. I'm getting old so my memory isn't always the best.

Kristin mentioned in an interview she didn't agree with the wardrobe choosen in Spell. Then in a german interview that was done around the time Mortal was shooting she said the same again. But she admitted that she was ignored. When asked about Thirst she said she didn't even put up a fight with the outfit. She just did it. That does tell you something. Somewhere along the line she just stopped fighting for herself. Gee I wonder why. If they don't even take into consideration how she feels about something as meaningless as wardrobe I don't even wanna know how they treated her when it came to ideas she had about her character. And it must be a real slap in the face when you consider that Allison admitted she sits down with the writers to tell them her ideas and they actually consider them.

It's kind of hard to to describe it but if you get to know the way she talks and her facials you can just tell what she means. When you see interviews you can tell by her eyes, or the way she smiles. Small stuff like that.

Aww I'm flattered. But I think you have too high of an opinion of me.

I love Beeman. Always did. Even his F bombs lol. But he is spot on about Kristin. I'm a perfectionist too. And believe me it ain't a good thing. People trash the character you play the first thing you do is blame yourself. Because you think it's your acting. You suck at your job. That must hurt a lot.

I don't think Kristin would be unhappy with how things are going if they at least made sense to her. She has to play Lana convincingly. Try to do that when you get a script for episode after episode and each time your character is someone different. You could see Kristin was majorly thrown for a loop end of last season. It showed on screen that she didn't know what the heck she was going on. One might argue...she is an actress she is paid to do her job. But in Kristin's case you virtually play a different character each episode. It always depends on the writer. And while all other SM characters usually get written in character most writers don't care much for Lana (again I say SDK admitted to that). Lana with someone, be it Lex or Clark, they like to write her. But Lana as an individual...everyone just comes up with whatever they want. Not neccessarily what the character should be like. As a perfectionist that has to make it a thousand times harder for you. And when you don't agree with it...but no one cares about your opinion...you know people (audience) don't like it...all you get is hate. How would that make you feel? I doubt happy is a word that comes to mind.

But I guess to each their own. If people don't agree then it's their right. I certainly don't tell people what to think. I only judge by what i see or read.

The only person who is ignorant is you. Just because you or others don't enjoy how Lana is being written, means nothing in regards to how KK feels. I am enjoying Lana is this season and know other fans who are as well. You can say as much as you want how you think she feels, but all you're doing is hoping that she feels the same as you just because you don't like how she's being written. That is just your interpretation. Because the interviews I've read with her recently don't sound like she's unhappy at all.

I like how you do the white outlines on a few of those. I keep meaning to try that. I don't like the one way I was doing it, but I know there's a better way.. if I just make the effort to find it. :)

Well the first one is from the Fashion 18 pics. And that shoot was done years ago. 2002 to be exact. But the agency just 'bought' the photographer middle of this year. So that's why her photos were released so late. It's the same person who did those S2 promos in the barn. Kharen Hill that's her name.

Ahh that one. I actually posted that on Sweet. And it was reposted on the DFN KK Forum in the request. It's not exactly an official pic. But I wouldn't call it unofficial either lol.

I think I have most of the KK promos though from this year. At least I would hope so. About 160 (solo pics) should be enough for anyone. So my friend probably has two times more Tom. Since she is a bigger Tom than KK fan.

Canada actually has a fairly large film industry that does more than churn out cheap American product...

However, I think you're right: when the Canadian film commission subsidizes production, I don't think any film can truly be called independent.

Thanks Serene for posting the interview with KK. She is such a "Vancouver girl" and so down to earth which is very refreshing!

And thanks for letting us know about the release times too since I'm a Canadian and the story sounds great! There is a large Indo-Canadian population in Canada so the movie will probably get a lot of "play" here. I just read on IMDB and someone from Toronto posted in December that they saw the movie poster up in a theatre too.

Thanks Triplet! The funding list of alot of CDN productions is usually a mile long but it's still amazing that they get to produce some great stuff.

It's too bad that "Partitition" couldn't have premiered at the Toronto Film Festival this past September and that way they would been able to display the film to all the film distributors from the US and worldwide and garnered alot of press. The Toronto Film festival is the most prestigious one in North America now. Hopefully more art house movie theatres in the US get a chance to play it for you folks!
