And for the record I think Erica looks alot like Lois Lane from the comics. Muscular arms (for a woman), big boobs but not too big, gorgeous, and a strong jaw-line.

Its because we really never got a proper take on modern postcrisis Lois in live action yet. L+C was essentially a romantic comedy.

The same can be said for Lex Luthor.

The upcoming film has the potential to give us a definitive version....

The bar to top for Lois is quite low.

Superman, however, is a different story. Reeve set the bar quite high and is regarded as an icon whos image drives most visual interpretations of the character.

She also looked much noticeably older than Welling. Its probably why they conveniently tried to de-age her from S8 onwards when they paired the two up romantically.

I dont mind the botox and heavy makeup, but it is what it is. IMO there LOTS of room for her look and interpretation of Lois to be topped.

The difference is obvious. Bags, lines and wrinkles from the earlier seasons have been fixed and/or covered up. Makes her look 10 years younger.

While I still prefer natural beauty, I commend the makeup dept for trying to make her look more Lois-like. Plastic surgery is fine, it fixes God's mistakes. It certainly improved her bustline.

Nevertheless, IMO she can easily be topped.

Yeah I agree with that definitly. I think they finally allowed Erica to look the best in the cast because apparntly when Lana was there she had to look the best so they made Lois dye her hair so that Lana had the natural hair.

I mean, I don't know about make-up because I think Erica/ Lois has always been beautiful but I think her make-up does look softer.
I think she may have had a slight amount of botox around her mouth but all it did was make her look younger tbh.

I've never watched a live action Lois Lane that I could understand Clark falling in love with. Erica balances tough & confident without making herself out to be a *****. She's perfect.

Once again where did I say she was overweight, i just said she put on a few pounds which helped out her face(I would argue legs as well), but at the same time she probably won't be able to pull off a swimsuit like she did in Aqua(you have to be super toned to pull off a bikini and an extra 15 pounds can make all the difference). I still think she has a great body but if you notice all her outfits lately are one piecers

Just because she is covered more in recent episodes doesn't mean she isn't as fit as she was before.

There is no better version of Lois than Durance's. She is leaps & bounds above any other incarnation in terms of characterization & looks. Not even the great Teri Hatcher could compare. Durance looks mature, she can act the tough military brat angle with ease & her comedic timing is great. The TAS Lois looks like crap. Looks more like Kreuk, all wrong for Lois. For me Durance is for Lois what Reeve was for Superman. Can't be topped.

Also Hatcher wasn't as hot as people thought. She had a good body but her face was meh, She had these almost lazy eye looking thing going on as evidenced by the second pic you posted of her & DC. She has almost these dark circles around her eyes, a clearly surgically enhanced pinched nose & a Lesbian haircut. plus she looked italian, I didn't know Lois was italian :whatever:.

but even this durance's lois broke up with clark because of the blur, and being with clark was not enough for her. until she finds out clark is the blur. so i don't get your argument there either.

it's like when people say that they J Nick's joker was goofy and heath ledger was more psychotic. but burton's joker is actually closer to what the joker is supposed. a complete psychopath who laughs with no remorse.

i don't think hatcher is as beautiful as durance, but kidder was better than both, and well, we all know how she looked. i think the prettiest lois is kate bosworth, but she was a terrible lois (not her fault).

That now certain aspects from Smallville that have had a profound affect on me have a similar affect and I now related to the Superman comics with Erica & Tom either by their voices in the dialogue or by how I interpret an artists depiction of the character in the comic panel to somehow find a connection to "Smallville" .

Durance: I think it would be really great for her to be able to have that. I think that is what the writers are trying to create, is their partnership. He has all these great abilities and those kind of things, but she's kind of the human version of him. She would do anything for truth, justice and the American way. She just has her human limitations. I think that you'll see this really wonderful partnership.

And with that I know beyond a shadow of any doubt , TPTB know exactly how to handle Lois's role in Clark destiny. They totally nailed why Lois is the right and only woman for Clark.

Yeah, Chloe was actually Smallville's leading lady in those seasons because she was in every episode. Her storylines may not have been all that great, but having Lois, who was only in 13 episodes tops, wouldn't have been right.

And yeah, Lana stopped being important sometime in season 3, definitely in season 4. Michael definitely deserved that second spot, though I guess they cared more about maintaining Clana angst that they kept her second.

Erica Durance: Yes. It's a power shift and it gives me the chance to show the kind of love she has for Clark, which is, "I accept you where you're at. I accept you, even though you are keeping a secret from me, because I know that you have a reason and it's difficult for you." And that's pretty huge.

And she has some fun with it too! She gets to jab him a little bit and there's some great situations the writers have created.

If it wasn't for Lois's advice to Chloe in the first place. Chloe would've probably told Clark instead of waiting until he told her himself in "Arrival" . Lois is just taking her own advice now .

Also her previous relationship with Oliver helped her get to this point. As well as the fact she's had a crush on Clark from the moment she first met him and the friendship they developed over the years just strengthened their relationship even more to the point that the romance naturally began to blossom in season 9.

The Flickcast: What do you love most about Smallville fans?
Erica Durance: You know, it’s just neat to see how many people love the show and are so excited about it. Thank God. I know that’s why we’re here 10 years later, or me only since 7. They’re so supportive and so excited and initially they weren’t with me.

So they’ve come around. But in fairness I wasn’t part of the mythology, Lois wasn’t, so that makes sense, so I can understand. It’s a beloved story and I kinda kicked in and invaded it, but they’ve been really, really positive now.

TF: What was it like to work with Michael McKean who played Perry White? Do you know if he will be coming back to the Daily Planet this season?
ED: I enjoy Michael very much and he made me feel at ease. You know, when you’re around people that are so gifted like that and they’ve been working for so long and you’ve seen all their stuff and all of a sudden you’re sharing a scene with them, it can be pretty intimidating.

But, he’s just a very amazing guy, and he’s great. I’d love him to come back as Perry White, that would be great and it showcases a different side of Lois. But, I think it’s dependent on the powers that be and probably his schedule.

TF: Are you excited for Lois and Clark to move towards their true destiny in Smallville’s final season?
ED: Oh, absolutely and that’s what we were talking about, the executives were talking about. It’s the 10th year so put everything in the mixing pot and get to the payoff we’re looking for. So, I’m really hoping that that will happen.

TF: Can you give us any hints as to your path this season?
ED: I haven’t been given a glimpse into their future, but I kinda don’t want to know. I want to do it while I’m doing it, you know? In fact, I’d probably like to go to the last scene and not even know what it’s about and they would just hand me my pages, that would be fantastic.

TF: How does it feel to embody not just an iconic character, but one replete with depth and crafted with fully developed idiosyncrasies?
ED: I just feel really humble and thankful that it went that way and I’m grateful to have been part of it and to be given this role and this opportunity. She’s rad basically, this character, that is real. She’s a woman, but she’s real.

She messes up, and does some stupid things sometimes, and she says some crazy stuff to boys, and whatever it is- she’s just human and she’s real. I’m so glad to be able to be part of that.

Erica: I believe that this tenth season is going to be our best yet, and it's because the writers are unbridled. They are able to really explore this mythology, and go for it, and go out with a bang. And I know the fans will like it.

Space: Why do you think that the Lois and Clark relationship is so timeless and so compelling?

Erica: Hmm. Because I think it's the perfect partnership. She is the human version of his - his superpowered version. She also believes in the same things he does, and she'll do anything to get that, and she'll do anything to support him. And it's just this - it is, it's an idealistic relationship, partnership, and I think that's what people look up to, and that's why they embrace that whole mythology. And yeah. So I love being a part of it, I love supporting that, it's just been thrilling.

Space: It's really undeniable that Tom Welling is a very special actor and has a very special claim on the character of Clark. What do you think it is about Tom - what do you feel he brings to the role?

Erica: He just brings himself to it. He's an incredible person, he's incredibly gifted, and it's been a blessing to work with him.

Space: What would you like to say to the fans who've supported you for all of these years?

Erica: Thank you, so much. Thank you for embracing me, we wouldn't be here without you, and I hope you love what ends up happening this year with it.

i didn't really like that specific reaction. ilike dthe scene overall but if i were the director, i would have done a more subtle sweet romantic way. still the same dialogue, but instead of running and jumping on him (it felt off), i would like her to walk over her (with those same eyes as she was listening), and give him a passionate kiss while both are standing.

i really liked last weeks episode, and feel that the reaction would have been more appropriate.

I think they wanted to show more excitement on her part, as though she had been waiting for him to finally spill the beans like many of us had. It was almost a child-like joyful reaction. Plus, that subtle but passionate kiss is the same way Lana reacted in Phantom when he finally told her, even though she knew he had powers, so I guess they wanted to show how different the two are by their reactions. Lana's reaction was more like acceptance, while Lois was more of excitement, which fits the character more.

I loved Lois' reaction. It was very fitting to her character and their relationship. I also loved how she let him no that she already knew. No more secrets & lies, lol.:awesome:

i don't know. that's just the way i pictured it. this is a serious secret, the child-like joy just didn't work for me.

in general i loved the rest of the scene, and even the beginning of the episode. i absolutely love the last episode, especially the future, but the past too. i just felt it was out of place. if it worked for you, then it worked for you. In general, i really like their handling of it.

it felt too goofy, and took away from the meaning of what just happened.

not in those words, but come on, you can't deny it. i said i didn't like it, and 8 people said, it was the most appropriate response, it was exactly how this lois would react, she should have been more excited. i loved the last episode. i thought every minute was perfect. but based on that episode and 10 seasons worth of data, i honestly didn't like it.

i mean, you say you like teri hatcher and people go bat-**** crazy over it.

and yeah i don't get that second part either. he has the purest heart I've ever met in real life and fiction.
