As I mentioned before, here's the pics of him getting in shape for his role for Angel in X3 on VH1's "The Fabulous Life of... Fabulous 40 for 2006". Oddly enough, the crappy quality is due to me having to do exactly what Lightning said, in that I had to take these with a camera phone. Also, the trainer he's training with, Harley Pasternak, is the same one that Halle Berry uses.

This makes me feel so much more confident in this casting choice--I always knew he'd be the best choice as far as acting prowess, but I was wondering how they'd tailer him to capture the characters physical look. Looks like prayers have been answered. :cool:

i never doubted he could play the role, and i was ALWAYS rooting for him. i'm a big fan of him as an actor - he can transform himself into any character...but now...he's hot to boot...it's just odd...

I always knew that he would pull it off...I mean, after seeing many of the transformations that previous actors (in general) have made in the past for roles, this was going to be no surprise to me..

This just goes to show you that he is great for the part... sure, he doesn't look like your average "pretty boy" but he certainly is getting there! I'm glad we didn't get a squeeky clean pretty face that could have easily been forgotten... Foster, as well as Page, is a casting choice that is original and great! Not only does he have exceptional acting skills, he is now looking like his own, individual depiction of "pretty boy". This is great casting, in my opinion. :up:

i think that ben and ellen , people dont like to much them at first , but now that are more picutes of them, recently pictures people start to like them!!! the casting director doo a great jooooob!!!!!

Despite my not liking of the character, I always felt that Ellen Page was perfect casting for Kitty Pryde, on the looks department alone (as I am not familiar with any of her acting)

As far as Ben Foster as Angel is concerned, well, I was never too thrilled with that casting. However, seeing these pics, he does look a lot better suited to the role now. So perhaps all the pieces will fall into place in the end afterall.

I love his face -- not his body. He gives me a vibe, but I shouldn't go there. But overall, he's not the best Iceman in terms of comic book -- since in the comic books he's kind of a Ryan Reynolds type guy (who's hot!), but he fits the bill and is cute and endearing.

Goldeneye came out 10 years ago. Famke looks...different now. While she is still very pretty I just can't get into her physique...she has an awkward, almost gumpy build IMO--just doesn't suit my taste. I know some men like that all-legs look but...I'm not one of them.

no.. they prefer to do much smaller films... blockbusters usually are what define when someone is big... sadly most blockbuster suck compared to the smaller films that no-one seems to see

Maybe, but there are other factors to take into consideration with those two.

With James, soon after X1 came out, he had his first child with his wife. Just like with almost any actor or actress, they're gonna want to take time off to raise his new family. However, he has had a regular role on a hit tv show during that time, and starred in a critically acclaimed movie, The Notebook, so it hasn't been all bad. I think you can just chalk any lack of interest in him in the lack of development of his character in the movies. Hopefully, X3 will rectify that.

With Anna, she hasn't been doing much with the big movies period. Since doing X-Men, she's started college, and began acting in stage plays. Either one of those would take a star away from the big screen for a good amount of time, so we've been lucky to see her as much as we have over the years.

I don't think it's that they get looked over, it's that the actors themselves have decided not to participate in them.

I don't hink so at least not in james case.He seems nice but he does come off as a bit of a media whore.I think if he was offered bigger roles he'd take them-which is what he is doing working on supes at the same time as x3.With anna you could be right she comes off as loving acting but not all the hype,so I guess he would sometimes pass up bigger roles for smaller indie ones,but it's a shame-i'd like to see her in more.

I believe the exact quote was, "rough and tumble bad-boy". What I think they meant was more his personality, so that means they won't be making him a toned down wussy like in Ultimate, but more of his playboy type that is in the normal comic continuity.

I really like those hips in the picture - it looks like the pants are practically riding on the hips now.

Before, I was neutral about Ben Foster and his portrayal of Angel. But as time went by, and especially peaked by a bit viewing of The Hostage with Bruce Willis a while ago, and having watched Foster's dark, moody and integral performance - it did endear me to the versatile chops that Foster is able to convey.

Well done, Ben.
