Noted. It did have great lines, and Bale did a great job in some scenes, but I don't know, I had a few problems with it:

1. When Christian Bale talks to people (if he's not mad at them), he sounds like Jim Carrey doing a voice-over for a commercial. He really goes overboard on this when he's talking about Phil Collins.

2. He's kind of gay in the movie. I understand he's not alright up-stairs, but he clings to such small and pathetic things. And he uses way too many cleansers in the shower. Paul's apartment was more expensive, but he was dead anyways.

3. Everyone's a huge phony in the movie. For the most part it's funny, but it's just overdone at some points.

4. The end of the movie doesn't make sense at all. He never killed anyone? Maybe he killed some but not others? Nothing's made clear, and it makes you wonder what the movie's actually about.

In the commentary the director and the writer said they made it so Bateman was obsessed with perfection, hence why his apartment had to constantly be clean and everything had to be in its place, he needed to keep most things in order, because they believed people keeping their things meticulously clean was creepy in a way because it seemed like they are hiding something.....I dont think its creepy its just why they had him use so many cleansers and soaps and stuff.
They made the ending the way it was so you would question the movie, like, was he imagining everything, was everyone so obsessed with themselves they couldn't pay attention to the fact that Patrick is utterly insane.

In the beginning of the story (the end of the movie) you find out that he lied to himself, knowing he'd forget, and would at least have another John G. to chase. So the whole movie is just him going after, and getting, the wrong guy.
