Those are the only two she been really hearing about if memory serves me correct.

I got online just now and saw 3 pages of new posts since last night. I got excited and hoped that we finally had info if Welling was cast or not.

Those actors listed for testing are way too young.

Also, isn't Emijay from CD away for 2 weeks?

Miller is seeing about four or five actors for the parts of Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Flash, Aquaman, Green Lantern and the Martian Manhunter, with a few overlaps. A few nonhero parts might be testing as well.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/film/news/e3ie1bcfaee594e25d9888f18a137c49bcdThe "few overlaps" part is intriguing. Hopefully, that explains it, so to speak.

I don't get the overlapping thing, two actors doubling over from their roles to play The Flash and Batman, the masks concealing them?

Are the talking Batman - Bruce Wayne, Superman-Clark Kent and being cute about it.

I'm pretty sure that just means that certain actors are reading for multiple parts, similar to how during the Spider-man casting James Franco read for both Peter Parker and Harry Osborne.

As Robert said...prepare for the worst folks.

Much like everyone else on the net, my vacation has been getting interrupted with random emails and calls about JLA. One would think this is good news since things got quiet. Well, no news was better in my opinion. The names on the list that hit the net are all wrong in my opinion. Too young. Too inexperienced. Certainly not good enough to be superheroes.

As it stands right now, multiple people have informed me that the front runners for the big 3 are Scott Porter as Superman, D.J. Cotrona as Batman, and Minka Kelly as Wonder Woman.

What happened to Welling? There will be an exclusive interview which myself or Robert will direct people to within the next 24 hours that will answer that.

Unfortunately, the studios did in fact leak varying degrees of false info to a number of people and we fell victim to this. I may still be a victim of this. What I do know for a fact is that Miller will be meeting with WB execs on Weds to present his cast choices and a press release will follow shortly after. So the official word is finally coming whether we all like it or not. I, personally, already know that if this newest info is the truth we have been holding our breath for, I will be waiting until network television to see this film. I'm thoroughly and completely disappointed by this news and would rather see Routh in tights again. And we all know how much I hated Superman Returns.

You can count out Brandon Routh and Tom Welling, George Miller is bringing his vision of Superman and his fellow super friends to his new Justice League film.

How does Scott Porter for Superman and DJ Cotrona for Batman sound? I know what you‘re saying…WHO? I had to google these guys myself. Scott Porter just finished up his role as Rex Racer in Speed Racer and DJ Cotrona is hot off of…nothing.

We have been hot on the trail of Justice League info recently calling everyone we know and trust for info. Early today, we heard that Brandon Routh, Singer’s Superman, was never offered or even considered for the role whatsoever. He wasn’t a thought on George Miller’s penguin infested mind. We’ve also learned that while in the early stages, WB execs had Tom Welling, Smallville’s Superman, on the brain and he is who they wanted BUT, and this is a big but, things changed when George Miller came aboard, he had all new ideas with how he wanted this cast to round out.

So again, Porter and Cotrona anyone? Yeah, this is sounding about as good as JJ Abrams Star Trek right now. Apparently, Porter has read for Superman and Miller reportedly loved him.

Now, are these guys cast? No, but they are leading contenders alongside Adam Brody for Flash and Minka Kelly for Wonder Woman.

Has there been a campaign of misinformation from the WB/DC side? Anything is possible with this recent news.

Along with the audition info posted last night on the trades, that confirmed IESB’s mention of Adam Brody, this is turning in a Romper Room League of America film rather than the Justice League that it should be. Not they aren’t old enough age wise, but they’ve all dipped into the “forever young” Hollywood facial and have the look of a couple of 16 year-olds.
Take it or leave it people, at this point, I think I am leaving it.

I can't answer for Carol, (although, I'm pretty sure what her answer will be) but I can answer for myself.

Reeve was without a doubt the embodiment of *my* Superman back in the 1970's when the film was released and even in all the years following. I was there to see that film premiere, and I wasn't a little bitty kid either. :O

Tom is my Superman NOW, suit or no suit, tho' obviously, I would love to see him get the chance to wear it on the big screen and bring that same feeling of awe to other teenaged girls that Reeve gave me way back when.

In the movie isn't Flash supposed to be young with a crush on Wonder Woman ?

That said all the women in that list are fairly young too .....

You have to imagine that whilst there will be some unknowns or lesser known actors in this surely WB will want some star names or established actors to even it out ?

From emijayine posting on iesb.net:

I know it sucks, but I (and I'm sure Robert too) won't be adding to the casting rumors without being 100% sure about what we're told from here on. It appears we jumped the gun on things because so much was happening and I know I got caught up in the excitement which I apologize for. I have one source who in 18 months has never been wrong, not even once, and she contradicted almost everything I reported today, and did so after I posted it. Who's telling the truth? It's hard to say right now. So everyone will just have to sit tight until one of us gets solid confirmation that is basically written in stone. I wish I had better news.

I'm glad to hear that emi is really upfront about admitting when she's posted something that's completely wrong.

Okay...I know this isn't much and I wish I had better news, but a very solid source that I never thought in a million years would tell me anything has discounted much of what I reported. I apologize for that completely and take full responsibility for jumping the gun before confirming everything. However, the same stuff is being posted on a number of sites so I though it was legit.

Anyway, Scott for Superman, D.J. for Batman, and Minka for Wonder Woman appears to have been fabricated and just made up by someone trying to add fuel to the already raging fire on the net. They were at the auditions, but for what part I've gotten no word on yet. There was more to the conversation but off the record so I can't say anything.

From this point on, unless I personally get someone from WB, DC, or Miller's crew to confirm something that's passed to me in an email, I'm not posting it.

...The question is, would you want Welling as Superman based on the trajectory of this film, or wait it out for a better circumstance? Now that is the question I have been waiting to hear...Pat's answers:

A bird in the hand...
Tom Welling isn't getting any younger.
JL's Superman IS the role for him. SV got the ball rolling and audiences loved it. *I* loved it.
Tom Welling staring in Justice League is better than Tom Welling guest appearing in KaraVille.
Everything about JL sounds amazing - the director, producer, cinemaphotographer, FX house, story, and yes, even the timing (film unspools right after SV ends). Is there time to change this inane kiddy casting approach if true? Absolutely.
JL is happening NOW. While not completely out of the realm of possibility, a SV movie wouldn't happen for years, if it happens at all. And even if it does happen, think "Clark Kent" not "Superman," think low profile DTV, no name director, G&M script, and maybe a $30M budget, IF they're lucky. Yeah, my brain hurts from too much thinking too.
JL is a potential new franchise. If successful, it would lead to more films, and the actors cast would likely continue their respective roles. It is in fact, the whole point as I've come to understand the big picture. But maybe that was misinformation too, I dunno?
Having two Supermen was a gamble to begin with. It split the fan base of Superman fans in a way I don't think Warners could have imagined back in 2004. Now they want THREE? Pass the crack pipe please. :)
Final point, yes, it IS just a movie. Nobody is being forced to see it. But I have my doubts about how many people will *want* to see it given the horrendous cast Miller is allegedly pushing for. I certainly am not interested in Friday Night OC Justice League if that comes to pass. Is that what they really want to make? Is that how they want DC's flagship characters introduced to the public? Seriously?

G'luck and Godspeed, Warner Bros. I thought you had learned from BB, but I guess that was just a fluke. Oh well. [waves]

<- goes back into lurk mode until this nightmare ends with the dreaded casting announcement.

LOL.. no seriously, because if this guy is well respected in the business as they say (& as he says) I think he could have gotten a hold of Tom in one way or another, or someone that's very close to Tom & knows what's going on, apart from Gough.

I would highly doubt it. The guy does next to no interviews anymore. I'd be EXTREMELY shocked if this guy was able to score an interview with him.

That being said, I'm making my peace with the thought of Tom NOT being the JLA Superman. I highly doubt this interview will be good news in that regard.

You can't cast just anyone in such iconic roles, you got to cast the right someone and the rest of the pieces will fall into place.

WB just blew it. Every new rumor is incredibly BAD buzz for WB.

JLA with Welling and Reynolds and a smart and perfect cast for the other roles = the biggest film of 2009 and one of the highest grossing films in history.

JLA with YOUNG looking actors from the OC and FNL and Sky High = SR but WORSE.

As I've stated before, there'd be nothing with a black man as Superman as long as he looks the part & can act the part.
