The CountDown Game 3 ...

Well, here it is.... the begining of the CountDown Game 3.

As some of you may know, I did this for Spider-Man & Spider-Man 2. So in keeping up with tradition, I'll be doing this for Spider-Man 3.

With all due respect, this game was originally started by fellow Canuck Reader, who started the first one 441 days left til Spidey 1. Unfortunately, he stopped (or got lazy) with 347 days left. So I carried on for him and I've been doing it since (a little Hype history for you)

It's now 526 days until Spider-Man 3, so I'll be posting the covers and credits of each regular continuity Spider-Man comics begining with amazing Spider-Man #526 and working my way down to issue #1, adding on the other Spidey titles along the way. As I've stated, I've done this for both Spidey movies and it was fun, so hopefully, we can enjoy the ride a third time.

This thread helped the time go by quickly while waiting for the movie, so maybe it'll do it again.

I will not be including, like last time, mini-series nor Ultimate Spider-Man.

I began with the comic/ covers section and have drastically improved the quality of the Cover scans (Jpeg quality, touching up, and centering, etc.), jazzed up the pages a bit better, and all the covers have been given new names...I am through #130 of Amazing already, as I have been only doing this a couple weeks right now.

I will eventually get to the #500's and the cover image names will have changed by then, even the smaller (thumbnail) images...They will be titled AmazingSpider-Man501.jpeg instead of whatever there is now,

I will be posting more on new stuff hopefully in a short time,

Loved this issue. LOVED IT! Probably one of the most heart-felt endings in a Spidey comic. Just well-done.

I agree. It was definately one of JMS's high points. Only prob I had was that Dr. Strange had such a big part in Spidey's 500th issue.

It was a very great issue. It felt like they weren't trying to just cash in on it either, it felt like they truly thought that this event deserved an issue in itself, due to the tragedy.

I bought the "Best of Spider-Man" Vol. 1 & 2 Hardcovers, and they had a nice article about tha tissue in there.

They talked about how it wouldn't hav emade much sense if Spider-Man, the everyman and resident of New York, didn't have to deal with this tragedy. JMS actually put off finishing the issue on which he was working to do this entire issue (hence, why the issue resolving the entire Aunt May situation was late).

JMS has done alot of bad things in this book, but this was definitely his crowning achievement. And JR Jr's two page spread of ground zero was absolutely terrifying. It was captured perfectly. And the scene where the young boy sees his dad's body being carried out was just heartbreaking.

Still, my favorite bit of imagery from the entire issue was of Captain America...Awe-inspiring, to say the least.

That's one of my favorite "recent" covers. I loved the idea of Pete becoming a teacher. I wish they'd stick with it. People complain so much about this or that taking away from his "everyman" quality, and I thought that this adds to this aspect so much. Plus, it gave Pete a "heroic"(at least, I think so) identity in his civilian life.

And sadly, no, I didn't vote. I'm pretty sure that's one of the things that would come back and bite me in the ass if I would ever run for President.

I agree, the whole onslaught story, and all the side storys all made sense. They fit together and nothing contradicted. Plus it all tied together the main mission of Onslaught. That is how you do an event.

I even enjoyed Heroes Re-born, even though many others didn't.:)
