good stuff man glad you started your own thread. I've been thinking alot about the movie version of namor and his costume (cause i'm more a marvel guy) but that first one make me think of aquaman movie duds. Both of tragically underused and misunderstood by the way.

Thanks Ramore, I completely agree that they are underused and misunderstood. Out of all the characters I really think aquaman has more potential than any of the rest of the characters, especially in terms of cinema. I really want to see an epicly(not a word)-spectacular Aquaman movie sometime in the future.

CyberMonkeyTron, I tried using a very contrasting background with something green or the final one blue. I might go back and try a more fiery background. I guess I never thought to do a yellowish color.

As for a little background, the comic is in my school's paper, and its a little parody of our principal this year. This most recent one plays off the fact that our principal is involved in some sorta problem with a student who threatened to kill him on his xanga.

Mmm. Polar Bear girl managed to gain the porportionate strength of a polar bear. Also blessed with heightened agility, and a sense of smell better than an average person.

Her gloves and shoe-boots resemble polar bear feet and paws. The claws are very sharp, and the boots provide efficent protection and the like.

Aquaman redesign. Basically gave him tatoo-esque skin colors. I figured that if there's a race of man who've lived underwater for thousands and thousands of years that maybe they've evolved a little more than just good swimming, so the different colors on the skin are kinda like camoflauge. DIdn't draw 'em but I thought maybe gills. And This Arthur is the son of the king and queen. He's a lot more humble and calm. Not a warrior or leader. Just another atlantean with a heart of gold and he saves the world from time to time.

Here's a character I though of called The Parisan. He'd be kinda like a mix of Batman and Captain Amerca, but obviously a french superhero. He doesn't techincally have any superpowers, but is at peak human everything. He fights for justice in the streets of Paris.

Mr. Claus is the mechanic on the ship. He's pretty mysterious and not alot is known. I thought it could be funny if say, every so often they'll run into someone that knows Chris Kringle by a different name, like Saint Nicolas and Santa Claus. He's also got a special vehicle called The Sleigh.

Easter Bunny. Since the story for the leprechaun character is in space, the easter bunny is from a planet called Easter, where the dominant species is a humanoid rabbit race. The character, who is nameless at the moment, carries easter eggs, which can vary in use. Either a bomb, or a light, or a first aid kit.

I'm really proud of this picture. Earlier I sat down and was drawing PBG over and over, just doodling really, and then i sketched this out. The scan makes the shading in look a little rougher than it really is, but there's not much I'm willing to do about that. What do ya think?

This is an 8 page fairy tale that I did for a french project. We had to do either a comic-esque thing or a childrens book. I chose the former, just 'cause...well...thats what I do. Basically its a fairy tale about two twins born on the moon in a futuristic moon city. THeir parents die, the wizard has to take care of them as their godfather and he seperates them so they both dont turn out corrupt. Obviously one becomes corrupt and a brat, the other is nice and works at a fast food restraunt. An astroid threatens to destroy the moon city, the wizard is the only one who can stop it, and the brat is not letting him 'cause she's crazy and selfish. Eventually the good twin goes to the castle, figures out she's a princess too and has the wizard stop the astroid, and the brat is left working at Moon Burger.

Prolly not. I don't think I've grasped inking, and I really like the pencils for this one. And besides that, there's no simple way other than just inking over the pencils, which I would rather avoid.

As for the big-man's son, I posted some designs on page 2 I think. He's very egyptian-pharoah influenced. I don't really like those designs too much anymore so I think I'll re-do 'em. I thought it would be interesting to have him be his son from ancient egypt. Basically, he grows up and eventually his powers surface(something to do with being able to create practically whatever he can think of. its kinda vague, but since most mutants don't know how to control their poweres very well it could be really interesting) and with these powers of creation his followers from ancient egypt call him Ra. Eventually he manages to figure out when Apocolypse is to confront him. Apoc has no real idea who this so-called son is has Sinister run some tests him and thats when he practically flips out and kills Sinister. Thats about as far as I got. Not sure how to actually connect the x-men, but it prolly won't be too hard.

That's understandable.. I suck with inking and coloring myself.. But Im learning as it flows.. I know i ll probably make so much mistakes from learning it! ha..

Most books on comic art have sections on inking and lightsource, I use How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way and Joe Kubert's book Superheroes. If your interested you should check them out, they've both helped me alot.

That idea sounds cool. I was actually thinking that it'd be interesting to see how Cable would fit into that. Since Cable's live is based around killing Apocalypse, how would he react to Apocalypse's son and the X-Men's idea of taking the child in.

I think its just a distinguishing mark of a superhero. It doesn't have to be practical. Its a costume. A disguise. I think it makes a character look somewhat like a lot of classic characters...ie...batman, superman, robin. It adds to the Superhero persona, imo.

Thanks. In the past year or so I just sorta thought that if I could re-do the Star Wars universe, I'd do several things differently.

I like the Strong, Silent Darth Vader...very stoic and Frankenstien meets Dr. Doom. However, it doesn't really refect the way Anakin acted before he turned, or made his way over to the darkside.

Basically...he'd be a lot less solid and more fluid. Acrobatics, very fast, yet still strong. Having the odd helmet sort of detracts from articulation and such, so I just sorta got rid of that.

I'd also change the origin of Darth Vader. Instead of the suit being a life-support system, it'd be more of a choice. He'd fallen and was injured. But technology and the force managed to heal him a lot better. Instead of hanging out on a star destroyer or the death star, the imperial base would be located on Mustafar. I figure a final showdown between Obi-Wan and Vader once again on the same planet that ended their friendship would be totally kick-ass. The deathstar would also be a lot smaller, more powerful, and sort of a satalite, controlled from Mustafar.

As for Anakin, he'd still have character. He'd be a lot more talkative, and angry. The helmet/mask would be removeable, though he'd still have scars. He'd wear it for intimidation purposes. And maybe for some sort of reason a la an ancient sith style or whatever.

And I had thought about the reasons why he was such a solid figure, losing limbs, and having the replacement ones. It was shown really well in his 'first appearance' in ep. III when he tore himself free from the table and obviously had difficultly using the robotic replacement limbs.

I'm a definate fan of the original Vader, however as someone said in the SW redesign thread, the coolest thing about the prequel trilogy(IMO) was the dueling. And with my ideas for a redesign of the universe and characters, I'd love that to translate as well.
