Will Smith and director Jonathan Mostow have committed to Tonight, He Comes -- a development that has Columbia Pictures eyeing a production start in Los Angeles by next summer, reports Variety.
Vince Gilligan rewrote Vincent Ngo's script. Sony (http://comingsoon.net/news/topnews.php?id=12184#) Pictures Entertainment's Amy Pascal acquired the project earlier this year in a bidding battle.
Smith will play a disaffected and underappreciated superhero in a mid-life crisis. Akiva Goldsman and Michael Mann will produce with Smith and his Overbrook Entertainment partner, James Lassiter.
Smith just completed starring for Columbia with son Jaden and Thandie Newton in The Pursuit of Happyness (http://www.comingsoon.net/films.php?id=11056), a Gabrielle Muccino-directed drama (http://comingsoon.net/news/topnews.php?id=12184#).
Mostow will push back two projects: Swiss Family Robinson, a film he rewrote with Sam Montgomery for Disney (http://comingsoon.net/news/topnews.php?id=12184#) and Mandeville's David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman, and Terminator (http://comingsoon.net/news/topnews.php?id=12184#) 4.

Mostow did Breakdown w/Kurt 'Kurt Rusell' Rusell, which was great, and Terminator 3, which wasn't.

Muccino Reteaming with Smith on Tonight
Source: The Hollywood Reporter (http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/)
April 28, 2006
Helmer Gabriele Muccino is reteaming with Will Smith (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=14306#) for Columbia Pictures' action drama (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=14306#) Tonight, He Comes, says The Hollywood Reporter (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=14306#). The two recently wrapped the drama The Pursuit of Happyness (http://www.comingsoon.net/films.php?id=11056) for the studio.
Writen by Vince Gilligan and Vincent Ngo, "Tonight" centers on a tortured superhero who crash-lands in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, and tries to transform himself by romancing an alluring housewife, causing chaos in the city.
Akiva Goldsman and Michael Mann are producing alongside Smith and his Overbrook Entertainment (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=14306#) partner, James Lassiter. Jonathan Mostow, who previously was attached to direct the film, and Richard Saperstein are executive producing.
Muccino will begin pre-production on "Tonight" after he finishes post-production on "Happyness," which is scheduled for a December 15 release. The studio is eyeing an early 2007 start date for "Tonight."
That's so interesting given mention of Muccino in the first post, when Mostow was supposed to direct.

They won't, he'll do this and then I Am Legend after that (Although it makes much more sense to do I Am Legend 1st and then this one, but what do i know).

Berg in Talks to Direct Tonight, He Comes
Source: TMZ (http://www.tmz.com/2006/10/11/exclusive-friday-night-tights-for-pete-berg-will-smith/)
October 12, 2006
TMZ (http://www.tmz.com/2006/10/11/exclusive-friday-night-tights-for-pete-berg-will-smith/) is reporting that Columbia Pictures' Tonight, He Comes is about to get its fourth director. The site says that Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights, The Rundown) is close to making a deal to direct the Will Smith (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=16955#) superhero film (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=16955#).
The movie (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=16955#) was originally set up at Artisan Entertainment (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=16955#), with Michael Mann directing and producing. When Mann decided to make Miami (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=16955#) Vice instead, Artisan dumped the project. Mann and producer Akiva Goldsman took it to Columbia, and promptly hired Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines director Jonathan Mostow and Will Smith. Mostow exited the project due to creative differences, and Smith's most recent director, Gabriele Muccino (The Pursuit of Happyness (http://comingsoon.net/films.php?id=11056)) would attach for several weeks before splitting amicably.
Writen by Vince Gilligan and Vincent Ngo, the film centers on a tortured superhero who crash-lands in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, and tries to transform himself by romancing an alluring housewife, causing chaos in the city.
Goldsman and Mann are producing alongside Smith and his Overbrook Entertainment partner, James Lassiter. Mostow and Richard Saperstein are executive producing.

Why is Columbia pictures pushing so hard for this movie? I swear, they went through a billion directors already!
Obviously it's to capitlalize on the superhero craze but because of the studio's effort, this better be a friggin' good movie when it comes out.
Berg has come a long way since Very Bad Things, a film that could have been a career killer for any up and coming director (I've always had a soft spot for it, though). The Rundown was fun action old-school action romp, and Friday Night Lights was a solid and earnest sports drama. I'm looking forward to the film, and if Berg stays on to direct, I'll be optimistic. Will better be bulking up again. He looks like he's back to his Fresh Prince frame in Pursuit of Happyness.

Why I have feeling that this movie with every new day turns into another Indy 4? Seriously, they both have the same situation (the only difference is that Indy 4 has problems with screenplay, not with the director).

Berg Confirmed for Tonight, He Comes
Source: Variety (http://www.variety.com/)
October 16, 2006
Variety has confirmed that Columbia Pictures has set Peter Berg to direct Tonight, He Comes, the long-gestating film (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=17014#) that will star Will Smith (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=17014#) as a superhero in existential crisis.
The film begins shooting in May for a summer 2008 release. Akiva Goldsman, Michael Mann (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=17014#), James Lassiter and Smith produce.
The quartet of producers have supervised myriad Vince Gilligan rewrites that accentuated the superhero's love affair with a married housewife. That has turned the latter role into one coveted by actresses. Charlize Theron (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=17014#) is the favorite to take the job.
Berg's name surfaced two weeks ago, but his deal took time as Sony (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=17014#) labored to keep a fiscal rein on a film that will have as many visual effects as any superhero movie but a storyline that's far less predictable. Smith's character is a drinking, smoking womanizer whose lifestyle is closer to rock star than do-gooder. The public is as sick of him as he is of them, until he finds a special connection with the married housewife.
The script will be further honed while Will Smith shoots I Am Legend (http://www.comingsoon.net/films.php?id=11189) in New York until March. They will jump right into Tonight, He Comes, which will be set in Los Angeles.

Smith plays a down-and-out superhero who has a bad image with the public because he causes a lot of collateral (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=18101#) damage while he solves crime, and he's an alcoholic. Bateman plays a corporate public relations consultant, who after being rescued by Smith tries to repay him by revamping his image. I'm looking forward to this film, because it sounds unique for a superhero picture. Plus, we haven't seen many original non-comic superheroes, so it'll be interesting to see a original creation. I just hope it's geared more towards drama, than comedy. The fact that it'll have as much visual effects "as any other superhero film" is exciting as well.

Michael Bluth joins the Fresh Prince in TONIGHT, HE COMES!!!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint (quint@aintitcool.com) here with my first Jason Bateman related post since I finished the last season of ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT!!! Of course I loved it and wish I wasn't so Tardy McLatepants when it comes to 99% of TV, so I could have joined the fight to keep it on the air. But I can talk about Bateman's career upswing. I've covered him in MR. MAGORIUM'S WONDER EMPORIUM a few times and now he's just been added to the cast (http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117956942.html?categoryid=13&cs=1) of the best dirty title big studio movie ever, TONIGHT, HE COMES, alongside Will Smith. Charlize Theron is also still in talks with Columbia to co-star, which would mean a mini-Season 3 reunion for her and Bateman.
The flick is about a middle-aged superhero (Smith) who's down on his luck. His fans are disillusioned, his life crumbling. Enter Bateman as a PR man who works to bring Smith's superhero character back to his prime, all the while Smith is putting moves on Bateman's wife.
Peter Berg (FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, VERY BAD THINGS, THE RUNDOWN) directs.

Exclusive: A Look At Tonight, He Comes
Date: May 9, 2007
By: Kellvin Chavez
Source: El Mayimbe (http://www.latinoreview.com/news.php?id=1969)
Jonathan Mostow was attached to direct "Tonight, He Comes" (http://www.latinoreview.com/filmpreview.php?id=889) but dropped out of the picture (however he's remaining on as a producer). Mostow was followed by Gabriele Muccino, the director of the Will Smith (http://www.latinoreview.com/news.php?id=1969#) drama,"The Pursuit of Happyness." Now comes word that Muccino is out and Peter Berg is in Columbia Pictures' "Tonight, He Comes." (http://www.latinoreview.com/filmpreview.php?id=889)
The film (http://www.latinoreview.com/news.php?id=1969#) also stars Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman.
Smith plays a down-and-out superhero who has a bad image with the public because he causes a lot of collateral (http://www.latinoreview.com/news.php?id=1969#) damage while he solves crime, and he's an alcoholic. Bateman plays a corporate public relations consultant, who after being rescued by Smith tries to repay him by revamping his image. But while Bateman is trying to repair Smith’s reputation the superhero is secretly romancing Bateman’s alluring wife played by Theron.
Tonight, He Comes (http://www.latinoreview.com/filmpreview.php?id=889) is scheduled to begin shooting in May with Columbia eyeing a 2008 release.
Berg recently completed filming The Kingdom starring Jamie Foxx (http://www.latinoreview.com/news.php?id=1969#) and Jennifer Garner.
Our own loquito for coquito, El Mayimbe takes a look at the (long-in-development-hell) screenplay (http://www.latinoreview.com/news.php?id=1969#).

TONIGHT HE COMES
By Vincent Ngo and Vincent Gilligan
El Mayimbe here with a look at Sony’s Will Smith superhero movie which comes out next summer. And you all thought I’d be tackling Iron Man this week…for shame.
“Tonight, He Comes”, is one of those movies titles that made me laugh. The title makes you immediately think of a porn film. Unfortunately Sony doesn’t do porn unless you count having to sit in the movie theater for 2 ½ hours as Sam Raimi ass ****s you with his stupid Spider-Man 3 script. [El Guapo here. Sorry, I had to get my two cents in. —Ed.] Speaking of comic book movies, Tonight, He Comes may seem like a comic book hero story but do not be mistaken, this is not your ordinary superhero.
The story takes place in present day Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn NY. The story opens up to three of the several main characters: HORUS (30 something, unhappy man, mild and quiet), MARY (30, married to Horus, vibrant and full of spunk in search of something to liven her life with), she is also the mother to AARON (8 – good kid but very witty). The marriage between Mary & Horus is questionable. Horus is a man who gets up everyday for his nightshift to work as a security guard. He’s a pained man due to his lack of feeling to fulfill his life and those of his family. Mary longs to get close to Horus but he just shuts her out. Aaron on the other hand is smart but not tough. His father Horus hadn’t been much help telling him violence wasn’t the way. But living in Brooklyn as a kid you have to be tough; this is something Aaron lacked. Everyday Aaron would go to school and get bullied…
Next we jump to the crucial character. We’ll call him HANCOCK; like John Hancock. His character at the beginning opens up to showing a man who looks lonely. He goes to differently slimy hotels (the kind where you can hear the ladies of the night doing their thing). He even takes his shot at getting prostitutes but he can’t get his “best friend” below up for that. You see Hancock is not your Superman, with the nice hair, gentleman like. He’s maybe like many guys you see and know except he has exceptional abilities such as super strength, but he’s also ill inside. He’s quick with his words so much he sounds like an adult version of Dr Seuss. Shoot, he can even fly!
The story continues onto Mary. She takes her kid to school. She ends up doing her daily duties which takes her to the bank. However, Mary’s fate is somewhat twisted. While inside, little does Mary know the bank is about to be robbed. Thugs come into the bank and try to take over. However not for long. Hancock comes to the rescue. This superhero is actually checking out the chicks during the bank robbery. One in particular that catches his eye is Mary. Mary is in awe with a real life superhero. Meanwhile the day is passing Aaron is waiting for Mary to pick him up from school. However he runs into his daily problems of bullies. He gets into fights and because he is taught not to fight he gets a nice shiner to match with his passiveness.
We now see scenes of Hancock running around town saving cats, stopping fights, robberies, you name it. He definitely has thing for the ladies or maybe that’s just a cover-up for his real loneliness. I mean it can’t be easy to have a girlfriend if you’re a superhero (chuckle). One night, as one of Hancock’s abilities or flaws for him sometimes is his hearing. It’s impeccable. One night out on the prowl he nears Mary’s building (coincidence we do not know). She is singing a lullaby to her son..This is a start of something interesting. Mary ends up inviting Hancock into her apt. Meanwhile her husband a night security guard for a large store is not there that night. Aaron can’t sleep neither. Instead Mary & Aaron entertain Hancock. They’re in love with this hero. He’s witty…he’s strong. He’s everything her husband isn’t. Flash-forward a few scenes, Hancock, Mary, and Aaron all become close. Even coming over for dinner while her husband is there. Horus can only stand there and watch as his wife has an emotional fling with this man. And as his son looks with admiration to this hero Hancock. Hancock takes it upon himself to teach Aaron about being a man & stepping up to bullies in school. Within time the hero becomes a fixture in the house and all Horus can do as he does every night; go to his job.
Now things get a little interesting. Horus comes off as this passive man and as some may call un “pariguayo”. He has one partner at work named Roheim. Roheim always tries to play it off as this old man that’s always tired. Horus is actually a real sympathetic man and always took Roheim for nothing else but old. Little did Horus know what was about to happen. One night Roheim claims he locked himself out. As he appears at work he looks all beat up. Supposedly the neighborhood gangs caught him outside. What we don’t know till later but I’ll spare you the way too many scenes that Roheim has a son named Scarpo that’s the leader of this alleged gang. On the same day weirdly enough Horus gets a warning from local cops that there has been a string a burglaries to be careful and not too brazen. Well what really happened is Roheim had his son Scarpo beat him up on purpose. Roheim would take the day off and tell Horus that he wouldn’t be able to make it in the next day because of his pains. Little do we know this is a plot by Roheim to have his son rob the department store on the day that Horus is the only one covering.
Meanwhile, back in la-la land… Hancock, although he is superhero, he is not all there. Perhaps it’s the years of being a superhero. All the crimes, the loneliness, but also the abilities he has can be an impairment. But Mary has a thing for Hancock. And why not? Her husband ignores her like’s tomorrow utility bill payment. One night, Hancock flies to her window. He asks her to go with him.. He whisks her to some deserted area in Brooklyn, He has food, lights (well they’re flares) and music (really a boom box; this is NYC you know!) She doesn’t know what to think. She does like him, but inside she loves her husband. She tells Hancock she cannot accept his advances. But he is having a hard time accepting and this is where Mary gets nervous. What they both don’t know. The police have been searching for Hancock. Why? Well we see him as a superhero but you know cops siempre metido en what they don’t need to be. In minutes we now see SWAT team closing in. And Hancock starts to feel anxiety!?
We go back to the large department store. Night of the robbery attempt. Horus is doing his usual surveillance. Just when it seems quiet. BAM! Comes in several thugs including SCARPO. They start taking stuff ransom. Horus doesn’t know what to do. Remember he is the passive type. What we don’t know till later is one of reasons Horus’s issues is that he went to the police academy and failed. This has stood with him since. The thugs start to careen the area. Taking whatever. Horus gets the opportunity to run. He actually leaves. But something inside him builds up. At the very same time Roheim who said he was hurt is waiting in the getaway car. Horus goes back in with all his anger, is it towards Mary and her flirtations with Hancock? His son not respecting him? Or is it the respect he lost in himself? With all that inside he takes on the gang…including taking down Scarpo. Roheim can tell by the clock something is not going right and decides to check it out. He gets in and to find his son Scarpo is dead. At the same time not faraway is Aaron in his house. Aaron realizes his Mom has left with Hancock. But where can his Dad be? Well Aaron decides to get his dad to tell him what’s happened. He makes it to his Dad’s job but before his dad can find him, Roheim does first. Roheim is pissed his son is dead. Roheim takes Aaron hostage. Right then Horus comes and this starts the struggle to save Aaron.
Back to SWAT picnic scene with Hancock & Mary. Mary can tell he’s not all there. Hancock can hear voices from afar which are why he is able to know when people are in distress because of their cries and his innate ability to hear things from far away. The SWAT team moves in and tells Hancock this is it. Mary can only console him and tell him things to make him strong as he had told others he’s saved in the past. With that he tells Mary he can hear a cry. Trying to break through his nervosa, he can tell its Aaron and find the strength to fly off into the night right there an then the cops start their bullet thrash. But bullets are no match for Hancock. Right there in the dead of the night he goes. Mary can only imagine and she follows him.
We arrive to the rooftop to where Horus works. Roheim is holding little Aaron on the roof tying him up and getting him ready to hang and die from the rooftop. Mary arrives to the building. Hancock’s gets to the top. Roheim hangs Aaron off the side of the building with the rope but doesn’t kill Aaron just yet. Horus with all his might fights Roheim. Right there in darkness like a shadow, Hancock SWOOPS Aaron off and puts him into Mary’s arms. What a day! With that, Hancock flies off….
Horus, Mary, and Aaron happy to be home. Sometimes in life it takes a tragedy or something bad to happen to realize what you have as it did in the end for this family. Even when they thought all their love for each other was gone, itcomes back like it never left. Go to the next scene at night on a dark street in Brooklyn… we see Hancock alone again. Right back where he started.
The story is definitely filled with action scenes and never boring. Sure to be interesting, the only thing I hope is they don’t put some corny ass shiny suit on this superhero because he is almost like every other man; human.
So ya’ll think big Willie got a shot at next summer’s crowded superhero slate? You think he got a shot against Batman, Iron Man, and The Incredible Hulk? As long as Will don’t come out with a rap album to accompany the movie it’s all good!

Tonight, He Gets Retitled
Will Smith superhero pic renamed.
by Stax (http://uk.movies.ign.com/email.html)
US, June 20, 2007 - IGN has confirmed that Will Smith's forthcoming superhero-themed movie Tonight, He Comes has been retitled John Hancock. And, no, it's not about the Founding Father with the big signature or the insurance company that bears his name.
Smith stars opposite Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman (http://uk.movies.ign.com/articles/751/751839p1.html) in the Peter Berg-directed action-drama. Michael Mann is producing the film via his Forward Pass production shingle along with Smith's Overbrook Entertainment. The screenplay was penned by Vincent Ngo, Vince Gilligan and Oscar winner Akiva Goldsman.
John Hancock reportedly follows a down-and-out superhero (Smith) with a bad image who gets aid from a corporate public relations consultant (Bateman). Theron plays Bateman's wife.
Columbia Pictures has slated John Hancock for a July 2, 2008 release.

John Hancock is the new title?
Here's an article on a filming location the crew are eyeing.Wonder what the costumes will look like in this movie?:hyper:
FORD ON 11TH: Crossing over into May, St. Mary Medical Center was back in the film biz with "Crossing Over," an automatic blockbuster starring Harrison Ford, Sean Penn, Ray Liotta, Ashley Judd and what have you. Ford was the only one of the batch to be filmed at the med center, using the, you know, morgue again, plus some driving shots adjacent to the hospital along 11th Street.
Reportedly the ICU nurses, who could holler out the windows along 11th and wave at Ford, did just that and, just as reportedly, he waved back, not being one of those snobbier guys that you sometimes see at film shoots. We're looking at you Tom Cruise and Michael Jordan.
As for the future? St. Mary's has been getting looks from scouts for another big-money production, "Tonight, He Comes," an inter-racial relationship pic starring Will Smith, as an unpopular superhero, and Charlize Theron.
If the advance scouts (mostly stunt people and F/X guys and a physician technical adviser) like what they saw in their recent trip to the hospital, they will return to shoot in July or August.
And just exactly what was it they were looking for at St. Mary?
According to hospital rep Kathleen O'Guin, "They were looking for something at the hospital that could be turned into a weapon."
We're no McGyver, but whenever we go to a hospital, everything there looks like a weapon.Source:http://www.presstelegram.com/ci_5897270?source=most_viewed

1st John Hancock pics
BELOW are a couple of the first pictures snapped from the set of the Will Smith superhero movie JOHN HANCOCK, formerly titled TONIGHT, HE COMES. Based on these shots alone, with Will strapped into a harness wearing a shabby outfit, oversized shades, and clutching a bottle of the good stuff, you can tell this isn't going to be your average superhero movie.
Smith plays a tortured hero, who's been shunned by the city he once protected, and who falls in love with the wife (Charlize Theron) of the public relations expert (Jasone Bateman) who is trying to repair his image. With such an unorthodox story, I still can't imagine how they're going to pull this off, but Peter Berg (FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS) is the man behind the movie camera, which is a positive thing. This might be the first dramatic superhero in film history that isn't taken from an already-existing source. This character was created entirely for the screen. The movie is scheduled to be released next July 2nd, and you can catch Smith next in the last-man-on-earth epic I AM LEGEND.

I'm so confused. The script review that Latino Review doesn't jive with anything else we're hearing. Supposedly Jason Batemen is a public relations agent, but the script review talks about a nighttime security guard. Did they just change the guy's job, because the script review makes it seem like it's also a rather big plot point.

To me it looks like the glasses are part of the whole look of character he's playing.Nice pics though.
Smith must be thrilled to finally be playing a supehero.Since he's still kicking himself for turning down the role of Neo in The Matrix years ago.
Side note: I wonder what kind of powers Hancock has besides flight? And does he have some kind of secret identity?

Will Smith (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=37143#) and Charlize Theron were spotted filming superhero action drama Hancock (http://www.comingsoon.net/films.php?id=17162) on Hollywood (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=37143#) Blvd yesterday, September 10th. Opening July 2, the Peter Berg-directed film centers on a tortured superhero (Smith) who crash-lands in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, and tries to transform himself by romancing an alluring housewife (Theron), causing chaos in the city.

The teaser looked more like Coca-Cola commercial ad than a usual theatrical trailer. It even reminded me most of The Incredibles stuff (positive) and some moments from the Super-Ex (negative).
I still think Columbia tried hard to make it look like a comedy to get more people buy it, although I belive it still has something from a strong drama.
The trailer overall looked funny and exciting, so I will give it a chance.

A lot more humorous than i was expecting, The action looks cool and the concept is fun, they sold it totally on Smith with not even a mention of Theron, I thought it was a fresh looking flick, the effects need a tweak though.

This looks way better than Super Ex....Will Smith is back at doing some comedy. He's at his best when doing that. Right now...he seems unstoppable in terms of movies. I mean...he's he like the most successful actor EVER now. This will do very well...and I really liked the direction here too. Peter Berg needs a blockbuster. He's pretty talented, but he's never had a blockbuster.

The comedy aspect sure is the most 'commercial' part of the film together with the special effects. The movie will be much more mean-spirited, and will have lots of drama - IF THE MOST RECENT REWRITES DIDN'T TURN IT INTO A STRAIGHT COMEDY.

I have high hopes for this film, I do enjoy realistic takes on superheroes and i think this one is going to deliver
the fact he has an agent to deal with his publicity stunts and personal image is genius
the fact that he sounds like he learns and gets nothing at the end also sounds quality (i.e. everyone else around him learns a moral about their normal lives).
ps, in a strength and durability competition, he's already proved himself stronger and more powerful than
hulk, juggernaut, thing, everyone from incredibles, everyone from heroes and all interpretations of superman except returns.

Yep. One of the best, until now, unproduced scripts in Hollywood. This script was written in '94, with Tony Scott set to direct. He was then replaced by Michael Mann, who was going to do the pic with Artisan, which was then unfortunately bought by Lionsgate and the movie was dropped. Michael Mann set up the pic at Sony and signed on as producer. Mann told Smith about the project during the production of Ali, and he joined to produce and star. Sony hired Jonathan Mostow, but he was fired from the project one month before filming. That's why they switched I Am Legend's release with this one's. Fresh from 'Pursuit of Happyness' Smith offered the job to Gabriele Muccino, who left after a couple of months and, finally, Peter Berg was hired. Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman joined and after 14 years of development the movie is being released next summer. :D
I hope the rewrites by Akiva Goldsman (< HE'S THE ONE I WORRY ABOUT), John August and Peter Berg didn't harm the script. We'll see.

they should really limit things to the size of buildings..
lifting up a skyscraper or the white house or something of that nature gives you the strength you wanna see without going overboard. a growing planet the size of an island is too much...

Wow...that was pretty damn good. I to like the whole idea of the film, very original. Will Smith is very likable on screen, and has tons of charisma.
The Whale throw was hilarious btw, good to see Jason Bateman getting tons of work

Hancock, looks like a great fresh property even though Smith is attached.

I know very little about the comic, or the history of this project's lore, does anybody have a link? Wil Smith is such a HUGE actor that nearly anything the touches is gold...kinda like Tom Cruise, before the "Oprah Incident". Will, stay off sofas...I'm somewhat interested in the film, but next summer is getting crowded...
It's kinda sad we've gotten to a point where someone sees a trailer for a movie and immediatley assumes it must be based on something.
Really though, if this movie ends up good, and has a more serious overall tone than the teaser suggests, this could be the first good, dramatic superhero movie not based on a comic book. It's nice to see some originality for a change.
