I hear ya, guys.
After what MSJ said recently, I'd settle for a brief bit of Ghost Rider's voice. Of course, nothing would beat a proper, fully finished shot of HIM.
Topless Eva does come close though.

I keep checking the board everyday, hoping for some new info. I hate this part, the waiting....the release date change was nice though.
I'm still watching the con footage once or twice a day, hasn't gotten old yet.

The waiting is killing me actually. I know it'll probably be a while yet before we see some real news but it sure would be nice to have something to talk about. You're right about the con footage though, it does satisfy me a little when I'm feelin' down for news.

Well, this is nothing new, but I just saw Eva Mendes in Stuck On You and thought her performance was delightful. I'd only seen her in Once Upon a Time in Mexico and the Comic Con footage (both of which don't give her much time), so it came as a real pleasant surprise.
Lovely, ain't she.

Lovely Indeed. I haven't seen her in anything but Hitch, which I though was pretty good. She's not untalented...

On a completely different note, I was just wondering what James Cameron thinks of Ghost Rider. He's got a penchant for leather clad skeletons who ride bikes. Funny that he was attached to Spider-Man for a while, but not Ghost Rider.
Does anyone know if he's ever talked about GR?

The fact that there hasn't really been a good biker movie in years will hopefully draw that crowd... not that I see a lot of biker dudes bein' movie fanatics as well and especially not comic fans. However, if any movie is gonna draw them out, it's this one.

It isn't stupid its cool if your curious. Ghost Rider is going to have a very lengthy post production considering the main character is a guy with a flaming skull for a head. And the first trailer wasn't even supposed to be released. Mark Steven Johnson himself said he didn't want it released because it didn't have any effects or actual footage of Ghost Rider. Just be patient...we should see something before the end of the year.

Welcome to the hype Ewok. Good to see new faces in our GR section and I hope you return often.
I'm pretty sure that they'll be doing special effects work up until the the movie is actually released. That stuff takes a long time to do and there will be a lot of it in this movie.
Also, I'm positive that everyone whose attached to this movie are working on their own little aspects. The sound people are doin' thier sounds stuff and MSJ and his editiors are doing their editing stuff. It's likely the final cut of the movie wont come until very close to it's release date as it's a lengthy and tiring process with many people having to approve on it.

I agree. The Elektra movie failed to tell a good story about Elektra. I mean, they skipped the whole dark assasson coolness and instead told a story about how she becomes humane again. Stupid mistake.
As for Ghost Rider, I am a little concerned about how long it's taken for news to come out. The studio should really be promoting this thing now by way of a website that is updated regularly at least... or news of any kind.
RedIsNotBlue
11-14-2005, 07:32 AM
The Elektra movie should have been similar to the Punisher. But they HAD to turn her into a hero.
And I am not worried. The lack of updates to me just shows that they are hard at work at on post production. Superman Returns is releasing its teaser with the New Harry Potter movie and X3 is with King Kong. So with Ghost Rider my best bet is that the marketing and promotion should kick into gear sometime in December.

Jeez we got screen shots what seems like months ago and nothing since. Considering filming wrapped long ago and they're in post production they could at least give us an update of any sorts. There hasn't even been an interview with MSJ in quite some time. I guess he's busy working out those F/X that must be a real pain to get perfect considering Ghost Rider's head will be the focal point of the entire film. You do that bad and the whole movie goes in the toilet. I have faith in MSJ and Sony but c'mon already give us something with or without pics.
Is the trailer going to be attached to Superbowl like X3???
Anyways...Begin:
Thumb Twiddling
The ancient art of thumb twiddling is a subject that has many nuances, and a depth which is not seen upon initial contemplation. A twiddle is defined as the rotation of an object around a similar object in varying velocities and rhythms. Its origin is in the word 'fiddling', which is used to describe the unorganised maintenance of different things such as hair, papers, etc. A twiddle's main purpose is to pass the time. Similar methods of twiddling include finger tapping, hair splitting, foot shaking, and tongue clucking.
The Psychology of Thumb Twiddling
It has been suggested that the study of personal thumb twiddling preferences can be used as a way to define a twiddler's personality traits, similar to the study of handwriting. Twiddle analysis is in its infancy however, and more research needs to be done before it can be accepted into mainstream psychology.
Contact vs Non-Contact Twiddling
There are those who avoid any thumb contact at all while twiddling, and those who derive satisfaction from the full-contact variety. It's rather dependent on one's mood. Sometimes there's a great deal of joy to be derived from avoidance of contact and other times it's rather soothing to have the intimacy of the full-contact sort, and comfort to be found in the gentle 'shushing' noise one can generate by colliding one's thumbs together once per rotation.
It is important to remember that a person should not be judged by their twiddle alone. Judging a person solely on their twiddle without observing their good qualities would sadly brand one as a twiddlist.
The Basic Steps to Twiddling One's Thumbs
Step One - Clasp Your Hands
This may be done in any way that is comfortable for the individual twiddler. The hand clasp is the proper positioning for the 'classic' twiddle. Hand clasp is by personal preference, defined by which index finger is on top, as the thumbs will be busy twiddling. Experimental evidences suggests that index finger positioning of left over right vs right over left makes no discernible difference in twiddling capability when using a Reverse twiddle.
Alternative Hand Patterns - Simply having the fingertips touching can also allow adequate mobility for thumb twiddling, especially for those with long thumbs. Alterations include how the fingers are curved, and the loosening or tightening of the finger clasp.
Twiddle Rotation - twiddle rotation is, again, a personal preference. Experimentation has concluded however, that a reverse twiddle is preferred over a forward twiddle for the average, right-handed twiddler. A reverse twiddle is defined as a twiddle where the topmost thumb at the apex of the twiddle is headed toward the torso.
Step Two - Commence Twiddling
Take one thumb, twirl it over the other thumb, take the other thumb, twirl it over the first one.
Repeat as necessary.

I have to roster people who know how to handle themselves onto freakish interlock shifts with both of those films running on concurrent interlocks (where you take one print and thread it through two or more projectors via a series of connecting rollers).
And to get away from the organisational chaos I head online . . . and . . . talk about work . . . Um . . . yeah.
Damn, I almost wish I could just twiddle thumbs. :(

There hasn't even been an interview with MSJ in quite some time.
Yeah, but the last time he answered questions, he answered a lot of important questions, and I thought, divulged a lot of info and We're lucky to have seen the comiccom stuff.
I'm just glad that I'm actually waiting for something now, instead of waiting for them to decide to do the movie, before this past year was hell.
I don't expect anything before January, but after January, its all downhill :ghost:

Twiddling thumbs indeed. It's quite hard to come on here everyday and search for GR news to find absolutly nothing. It makes me sad most of the time but, soon enough we'll be havin' the same problems in this section as everywhere else with people excited and posting the same topics over and over again. News'll be flyin' in that fast we won't know how to deal with it. HOpefully anyway.
I expect after this year is a good call Riding... or anytime after X3 has their trailer released anyway. We may get something before the new year but, it's highly unlikely at this point. Either way, 2006 with be exciting for us all.

Yeah but Ghost Rider was doing all post production as normal...after filming whereas X3 is doing it as they compmlete each scene. They send the reels off to post production on the fly. :) This saves time for editing and everything else though it costs more...it's worth it.

If you guys are interested where I've been spending most of my time, check out the Blog I created: http://newfoundlandgreenparty.blogspot.com
I've truly found something inside me that I probably knew I had but didn't let it out. I've become as passionate about the Green Party of Canada as I am about Ghost Rider... and you know how crazy I am for him.
Please, if you're Canadian (actually, if you anything, because the Greens are the only worldwide party), know all your choices and choose with your heart, not stratigically. It doesn't make sense. If you vote for Bad government to rid a worse one, you still end up with bad government. If you want GOOD governement you have to vote FOR good Government.
Either way, get out there and vote, no matter who it's for. It's important for your country.

yup...Summer is a really good bet. the San Diego Comic Con will be held in July so its almost a sure bet there will be something GR related. maybe the teaser trailer will be released that month as well.
I'm hoping for an innitial simple teaser to be released around the time of X-Men 3 leading towards a second teaser during the summer, which in turns leads to a full advertisement sometime around Oct. 31st. Although, that is just a hope of mine, I don't expect it happening.

We're just shooting the breeze since the film wrapped what seems like years ago and we still have 8 months before it hits the screen. It'd be foolish for Sony to reveal too much too early. In fact Sony should be real careful not to spoil this one after all the spoiling of X3. Sony's did pretty good with SM3 until Dunst and a few set workers had to open their mouth. I like digging for facts but I also like it when it's hard to find.

Agreed with the Doom assessment.
Dr. Doom was not Dr. Doom, he was... um... Electro?
Being one of the people behind www.Fantastic411.com (http://www.Fantastic411.com) , I followed Fantastic Four through the entire process, just as I have been doing with Ghost Rider, and when that movie came along... I just wanted that extra inch which fell off the F4 ruler.
Dr. Electro-Goblin-Doom.
They did a great job with the costume, being electro should have been just one of his many powers, he had some evil lines that I really liked but he needed more, and his acting was great.

Doom's movie costume looked good because him wearing the comic costume would have been too freaky. That costume has to take awhile to put on, while the movie costume just takes a few minutes. So that made sense.
I was with Fantastic Four too. I read the novel and it said his costume was given to him by his father.

I'm pretty sure that it will be a similar thing to what Hulk was except that Blackheart will not be completly digital. From what we've seen, it looks like they are just layering Wes with digital effects. So, essentially, it's Wes with some extra crap on him.
Having said that, I have no idea what they have planned for the final version of BH and whether or not it'll be a fully digital creation, a la motion sensor balls and such.

This forum I say, isn't dead. It just isn't as popular like Spidey and Supes are (especially now). GR's fans visit daily, and that's all it needs to survive. But if you're wondering why there isn't over a 100 people here is because everyone's busy discussing the disapointing Superman Returns right now or ******!ing about GG2's costume or Venom is Spider-Man 3.
When GR hits theatres, I imagine people will flock here to discuss the movie, and that's when the fun really begins. I am also waiting to see it before I give my final judgement. I have some issues with it already, but I've been wrong about movies before, and I'm not making that mistake again.
