For reasons which I will disclose [if asked about them in private], I will no longer be posting in the original Carnage thread, or contributing scans there. My reasons are good, trust me. Although I worked long and hard to achieve the post-count shown by that thread, it's time for that one to die and a successor take it's place.

So.... Carnage never dies. Very true. Even if his old thread does.... And to make the transition a little easier, I am reposting some of the artwork shown at the beginning of the old thread. Most of it is extremely old news, but since we continually have people coming in begging for Carnage pix, perhaps they will serve some purpose.

Also, I have the Seperation Anxiety game. Brilliant, not quite as good as Maximum Carnage but still a fun game. Carnage wasn't as hard as he was in Maximum Carnage though :(

I have the Wizard "Villains" book that top picture on post #45 is from, it's on the cover and strangely enough, Carnage hardly gets a mention in that book. I think even Venom got like, half a page. Wow. I think freakin' Gorilla Grodd got more discussion than that... that's Wizard for you though, they hate symbiotes and as far as I can see, they always have.

First off is the meeting of Carnage and Shriek.Every good villain needs a woman by his side now and then.And Carnage is no exception.He couldn't have found a better lady than Shriek even if he tried.

May his testosterone levels fall to undetectable levels so he has to go on hormone therapy.... and then the therapy doesn't work. May his larynx atrophy overnight so once, just once in his miserable life he has to STFU. Hong-Kong flu comin' your way, pal. A nice whopping case with one of those whooping, agonizing coughs that lingers a month after the other symptoms; one of those coughs where you have episodes so bad you nearly cough yourself into emesis. May the transmission fall OUT of Bendis' car.... in rush-hour traffic, and his cell-phone [which we all know is welded to his head... blabblabblab] battery goes dead at that exact moment too. May he eventually lose his job, and I mean that sincerely. I want him fired, like they did to Mark Waid for no reason, but this time there should BE a reason. Decimation, conflagration, hellivation and damnation: all just for him wrapped up in a nice little package with a big shiny red bow liberally sprinkled with Joker Venom.

Having got that off my chest, I remind myself that no one stays dead long in the comicsverse - nobody. I really am starting to hate this pompous jerkoff, an attitude fuelled by the 4-way interview between him, Millar, Loeb, & Johns in the last issue of Wizard. Nope.... really don't like him.

So, is there any point to your post other than an attempt to sow discord? [Sorry if that wasn't your intent, but that's definitely how it came off.]

These threads are clearly labeled, tucked in a fairly-obscure corner of the Hype, and consist of fans sharing their collections of comics, etc. featuring favorite characters with each other. Everyone usually gets along in them, which for this place is a rarity. How are they a problem? All you have to do to avoid them is... stay out, just like I stay out of the "Post your hottest Latina pix EVER!!!" threads, which if you want to discuss real "picture spam" might be a good place to start. At least these threads are on-topic.

Guess people quietly talking amongst themselves is somehow just not "cool" enough; perhaps we'd gain more esteem if we were slogging through the vast popularity-contest sewer-system that is Community. No thank you.

As I recall, that Web of Carnage arc was hilarious. It was one of the first Carnage arcs I ever read. Those symbiotes do get around; I think half the Marvel U. has had encounters with them.
That's great if only for the number of symbiote-hating people it infuriates; you either "get" Marvel-version symbiosis or you don't. The humorless rarely do.

That was one thing that bothered me in Venom Vs Carnage.When they settled their differences and teamed up to take on Toxin.

Like Venom would form an allegiance with Kasady,the master of murder.It was pretty weak.A few quick sentences and they were partners.

Surely it would take more than that to make those two fight side by side.No arguing,no threatening eachother........nothing.

It's like overlooking a vast, empty plain where a huge battle ought to be taking place, and seeing nothing but space. Every now and then Marvel used to throw us a bone, but not here lately! GG1 and Octavius are still alive, so I hang around. But both of those people got a lot of mileage on them due to their respective movies, so we probably won't see them for a while. Leaving me with.... not much, unless I wanna read about Black Cat.... which I don't. Sheesh BC is still around yet V. & C. are "dead." What kind of justice is that.

I think it's not meant to be literal. Eddie's probably seeing just what we would see- the old man begging- just as we see it. However, for Eddie, the emotional value of those scenes is most similar to the emotional value of the distortions we are shown to illustrate his thoughts. I think it's the artist's "visual" simile. It's also how I take things like the elf-boots on Carnage in IAWL- they're visual similes meant to suggest the suessian flavor of his insanity, the childlikeness of the psycho. I love love love ***** like this in sym artwork when it's done well, having a visceral veracity.

From what I can see of it,your collection looks mighty impressive there.Space is indeed a problem.My shelves are ready to fall down under the weight of my figures.I wouldn't even dare put my statues and busts on them.

It is a modest collection, but growing :)

My rule is to only buy stuff I cannot live without; this cuts down on overcrowding somewhat. It also makes it to where you can't enjoy each piece, if you have too many. I know people who literally own 1000+ dolls. That is just *way* too damn many. Even they will tell you thier collection is crowding them out of their houses and they don't even know what they HAVE, they have so much stuff. How is that fun?

I can speak from experience about shelf-collapses; I have endured two, neither having to do with my Spidey figures [thank God!] Both instances involved the shelf below the one in the picture above collapsing due to the brackets not being inserted correctly into the track mounted on the wall. I put the fashion-girls down there these days - they're vinyl, and if they hit the floor no real harm done. Model horses used to live there, and they don't take being dumped onto the floor real well. :( Shelf collapses suck!

And thanks for posting this Venom comic Symbiotica, i'll have to say it's my most favorite interpretation of Eddie and the symbiote in any of the comics I've read (I especially like the last 2 pages of the final issue! :D)

I'ts really the definitive version of Eddie's personality and his relationship with the symbiote in my opinion, and it really does a good job of characterizing Venom as both a protector of innocents and administor of justice, as well as a bloodthirsty, sadistic, psychotic engine of destruction.

That's the thing. Chances are you'll never 'see' it (unless you raid eBay) 'cos these lil things come wrapped in chocolate & sealed in a box. So unless you smash 'em open in the store you won't know which one you're getting.

Times are hard on all symbiote folk in general lately.I wish I had more to contribute.But anything Carnage related I own,all you guys own too,and alot more besides.

hello everyone.

its been what? like 6 months since i've last been here and my favorite thread is *poof* gone. this one seems cool enough though.

speaking of mindbomb, i was just rereading that the other day and thats when i decided to get my butt back on this site. I think i have finally managed to wrap my consciousness around the contents of mindbomb and IAWL. great great stuff. post away. question though: is there a certain degree of what kind of violence we can post here? cuz mindbomb makes me nauseated when i read it. ew... so i was just wondering if they could make you take something down for having too much blood or something like that.

anyway, i'm back for the time being and i thought i'd say hello. :)

P.S. nearly every pic that anyone posts shows up as a red x for me, and it never used to be that way. is there anything i can do to fix that?

I have posted Mindbomb out here in its entireity in the past, with no repercussions over violence. If you do post it, allow me to suggest you not put a link to this thread in your signature or anything like that. It draws the attention of moderators, and that is a negative thing because they start preaching about copyrights and threatening bannings, etc.

I like Mindbomb and its companion book because it unflinchingly shows exactly what Carnage is really like; at least a little bit. Most other books fudge around, give hints that he might be unbalanced.... they hint that he's a sociopath, but we never SEE anything. This guy is seriously FUBAR, and Mindbomb makes that very clear...

You are seeing red "x"s usually because I pull stuff down after its been up a few days. I do THAT because I either need to free up that hosting-space, or because I'm not interested in keeping stuff up so people on *other* boards can post it hither, thither and yon. I don't mind hosting for friends, but strangers on the Internet can host their own stuff :)
