- Fastball special, anyone???
Thats exactly what I was thinking when I read that part.

What's up with a possible Wolverine spin-off?
I'm into it. We're actually working on a script. X-Men is an ensemble movie, even if some characters are in it more than others. It's about the X-Men. I love playing the part. I think it's the best part going around. I may be biased, but I think there's so much still to be mined, still to be learned from that [character]. I think it will stand up to a feature-length movie. And we've had some really amazing interests from some great filmmakers and great writers also really intrigued by the character.
Would you consider writing it yourself?
I will always put my input in from the actor's point of view. At this point I feel like I know the character, from some perspective, incredibly well, so I will always have a lot to say. But no.
:down I would prefer a fourth x-men installment, instead of a wolverine spin-off

I don't know who's top 25 they're listing then. It clearly doesn't reflect public, and indeed, most critical opinion.
Exactly that was waht I thought when I read it,I quess it's the editors choices.

Yesterday I saw a 6 Site Special (4,5 Site's without Teaser Poster and commercial) in the german magazine called 'Widescreen'. But there are no new pictures (or information) in it, only Promo Shots and screencaps from the Trailer.

Here in Brazil, the SET Magazine has an article about X3! And some things Avi Arad said in Interview, just look:
About the doubt of the fans:
"Our fans are more cautious, but they need to understand that it doesn't have anything to worry about. The X-Men are bigger than a person"
About Brett Ratner:
"Brett knows how to deal with films with this scale and he's a fan"
About a future X4:
"When we are in doubt we always come back to the comics and the histories are infinite"
"What it will decide the future of the series it's the reply of the fans"
ABOUT STORM:
"Finally you'll see Storm using your powers to the maximum"
Electrix

So if were still shouting after a successful X-Men 3 then there is a good chance we will get an X-Men 4...

The most recent issue of Entertainment Weekly makes a quick but very encouraging mention on X3's box office potential. It's in the 2006 preview edition and for highest grossing movies of the year, their analysts predict that... drum roll... The Da Vinci Code will take top honors. They go on to say that other notable blockbusters will be X-Men 3, Pirates 2, and the new Bond film. That's it! And in that order, too! This redeemed EW enough in my eyes to give them a second chance and renew my soon-to-be-expired subscription. After the obviously biased and undeserved C+ they gave the teaser, I wasn't gonna give them anymore of my hard earned $! ;) F them I said; good thing they came to their senses, huh? :D

It's interesting to note that Superman Returns didn't get included, yet Bond did? I mean the prodigal son's return isn't even expected to beat 007's latest incarnation?! That's just sad! ;) Baiting & waiting! :D

The Superman bashers should have a field day with the latest Premiere. The cover story is Superman Returns (budget - $250 million) and it has a few pages devoted to it. Then there is the movies of 2006 rundown. X3 is shoved into a table of sequels, one 1-inch row is devoted to it. Nothing new except Brett saying the action is nutty (he meant this in a good way) but he delivers on the emotion as well. Also Halle Berry saying she loves playing Storm, she just didn't want her whole character to revolve around "flying the damned jet". That must be Halle's line for the press junket, similar to Hugh's "my son is going to need therapy" line that he told on every damn talk show.
In the entire Superman Returns article, James Marsden is not mentioned once. They actually refer to his character but not the fact that he's playing him. I just want to give that man a big hug and let him know he has fans that support him and actually look forward to seeing him in films.

EMPIRE MAGAZINE (UK) - #200
Bought the magazine in the weekend.
Heres a clip from the 2 page article already brought up by CapBeerCino and Storm22 but not posted here ( i think). Will post scans when i can.
RETURNING CHARACTERS
The old gang return, with Halle Berry's Storm and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine the focus of the plot.'' For Wolverine, there's very much a theme of reluctant hero,'' says Jackman."This movie deals with... is he an X-Man, or just a mutant alligned with them?''

SUPERMAN RETURNS
Okay kiddies, jot this down: I despise SUPERMAN. Clark Kent has always been my least favorite super hero, so consider me blown away by the best teaser of the year. Bryan Singer is a cinematic genius who understands comic nerds better than any other director in Hollywood. The use of Marlon Brando's voiceover gave me chills. The only other time that's happened was when Han Solo says "You're all clear kid. Now let's blow this thing and go home."
The visuals are strong in this trailer, but not overwhelmingly so. The short length just leaves a taste in the audiences' mouth. Unfortunately, the full length trailer now has a lot to live up to.

Superman Returns teaser at number 3 is a joke! I'm sure it'll be a great film but the teaser was a snore-fest, Marlon Brando voiceover - big deal!! An even bigger joke is the X3 teasr at number 28!!!! It should have AT LEAST been in the top 10!!

That used to be my interpretation until as recent as a little more than a year ago, I've come to better understand who he is, and because of that, he has significant layers perhaps only known to me.

You guys are funny.....I gotta say, love all the conspiracy theories. Everyone from 'Fat Harry' to this guy on JoBlo is on the WB payroll obviously. I don't know why the SR 'hype is bothering anyone here so much. It won't affect how good of a movie X3 is. It just shows pettiness for something that in the end, won't matter one bit.

their Top 10 is really wacky.
Jarhead is number one.
Narnia isn't in it.
Marie Antoniette is, so is The Island, and Hustle and Flow.
none of these trailers were all that great to me. and why were Narnia, Sin City, X3, or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory NOT in the Top 10? don't get me started on the lack of Corpse Bride.

I'd say a good few people think X-Men is a cooler franchise than Spiderman. As good as the Spiderman films were there was a noticeable corny aspect to them - "God Bless you Spiderman" etc. I think the first 2 X-Men films had a cooler sense of humour, the use of the odd swear word helped aswell I'm sure!

I saw in Antena 3 news a report about the comic book movies in 2006 and talked about 1) X3, 2) Superman Returns, 3) Ghost Rider and 4) Aeon Flux in this order. They didn't say nothing interesting: the director, the actors and the trailer.

Superman needs more coverage than X-Men 3 to build anticipation. People have been waiting from when the credits rolled on X2 till now for X-Men 3. Lots of the general public havent a clue Superman Returns is even being made, therefore they need to get it in as many magazines as possible before they start getting it on TV.

I wouldn't say alot of the general public doesn't know Supes is coming out soon (Superman has a massive following, like X-Men), but yes, I do agree that Supes needs more coverage than X3 right now. It's been years since the last :supes: movie came out, whereas the X-movies are no more than 5-6 years old, and is still very fresh in audiences' minds.

Well, it's doing a hell of a job so far...Maybe only Star Wars had this much coverage 5-6 months before it's premiere in magazines/award shows/TV. I can't count how many magazine covers we've had in the last 2 months.
Hell, Routh is going to PRESENT at the Oscars & Golden Globes! He ran the Olympic torch. HBO is doing their 'making of' thing like Harry Potter.....the word is definately getting out.
At this point, they are surely getting the word out. (More pics of Routh as Supes) Which is why what X3 is doing has me kinda scratching my head. I KNOW they've got good stuff, hopefully they don't plan on dropping all at once. When you do that, the 'buzz' is high for a few weeks, and that's it. The X3 production really should be letting out pics by now to get fans interested...it shouldn't have to be fans keeping fans interested with what they feel is 'Going Right' for the film.
They should have thrown more things at you guys by now, and let you judge for yourselves. At least, that's how I feel.

I'm sure HBO will do a making of X3... they did one for Elektra and Spider-Man and other Marvel movies.
I'm pretty sure Halle, Kelsey, Hugh and other cast members will be at the Oscars doing something special, too.

I wouldn't be surprised, those are 'big names', and Berry already has an Oscar. Everyone's gonna be like, 'Who's this Routh kid?'
I don't expect anyone in that place to know who he is...should be pretty funny.

Well, it's doing a hell of a job so far...Maybe only Star Wars had this much coverage 5-6 months before it's premiere in magazines/award shows/TV. I can't count how many magazine covers we've had in the last 2 months.
Hell, Routh is going to PRESENT at the Oscars!
Exactly, Superman is getting as much coverage as it can get.
X-Men 3 being secretive will work in its favour. It is doing the opposite of Superman Returns. Superman released an imagine or Routh as Superman which made quite an impact. People either loved it or hated it. Whatever was said the Mods were busy over in the Superman forums.
X-Men 3 released its first pictures when people wanted them. We had NOTHING throughtout filming, apart from pictures of cars and extra's and possible filming locations. We got them and it was overall a positive reaction.
I can remember when they were releasing video blogs from behind the scenes of Superman Returns. We were just sat here with nothing, thinking you were spoilt brats!
They recently gave SHH two pictures as we hadnt had anything since the Announcement Teaser at the beginning of December. Again fans were ready for something. The plot hasnt been revealed, only hinted at. Extras had to sign a contract so they wouldnt say anything or take pictures. The cast arent allowed to say anything in interviews.
When you see a door that is locked you have an urge to go through and see whats in it more than one that ajar.

While I think that's true..I think SR has the overall bigger fanbase to begin with. That's why people are so enamored with him, you love him or hate him, but you damn well know WHO he is.
X-Men hits a specific audience. It's more adult oriented in context, which I personally love. But, only so many people want to go into a movie that isn't as bright and shiny as say an 'Incredibles, Spider-Man, Shrek, or Superman'. That's just how it is....those little rascals we call kids, have a MAJOR impact on BO.

That is true, you also gotta remember that the public has a love affair with Superman....Everyone knows him. All they are doing is reminding people, I think.
X-Men 3 being secretive will work in its favour.
I think they should release some new stuff asap. It's like their are sitting on their collective hands waiting for something. (Which they very well might be)
The trailer was fun, but even here it's not a hot topic anymore....there's nothing new about a 2 month old trailer.
It is doing the opposite of Superman Returns. Superman released an imagine or Routh as Superman which made quite an impact. People either loved it or hated it. Whatever was said the Mods were busy over in the Superman forums.

Again, I refer to my previous post. You gotta keep that positive buzz going. Or else, people get bored and wander.
I can remember when they were releasing video blogs from behind the scenes of Superman Returns. We were just sat here with nothing, thinking you were spoilt brats!
I know. And people over there were complaining because they weren't showing enough in the blogs.

This is what I mean. They give SHH 2 pics that have pretty much already been seen. (but cleaned up) And SHH gets 18 new SR pics, that has everyone over there, supermanhomepage and on bluetights buzzing. You gotta keep fans interested. I'm sure they have a plan to drop quite a bit all at once though. That's more their style.
When you see a door that is locked you have an urge to go through and see whats in it more than one that ajar.

I think Superman will have a "father-son audience" feeling to it. I bet there'll be many dads [who grew up with reading Superman comics, and watching the TV show and movies] who will want to take their sons to see this movie, so that they can get the same feeling out of Superman that the dads did.

I dont think Superman will be a PG. I dont even think we should be talking about Superman. I dont think Superman fans should come to our forum and start comparing, making us talk about Superman. It isnt competition. It comes out a month after.

January, 13th 2006.
Press: We’ve got Superman fans who are 8 years old up all the way up to 80 years old. Are you trying to make this movie something with broad appeal, something family friendly?
Singer: Yes. Absolutely. It will not lack in intensity, it’ll probably be PG 13 but at the same time, unlike “X-Men 2,” which had issues like Lady Deathstrike carving into Wolverine, things like – in this movie there will be no lack of intensity but at the same time the violence, the tone of it will be much broader. This will be something older people will be able to visit and people will be able to take their kids too but at the same time I don’t think you’ll be disappointed at all in the level of intensity. It won’t be a soft Superman but it will be a much broader- it’ll be the broadest, most romantic and funny movie I’ve ever been involved with.

And X3 isn't getting more magazine covers because Superman is a new thing, it's the first Superman movie in 20 years, so people are more curious about it. It doesn't mean it'll make more money of that'll be a better thing, it's just that with X3 people know what to expect; with Superman, it can be good or be ridiculous bad.
Superman doesn't need much exposition because it's Superman, but it is getting because it's the first movie in 20 years.
X-men doesn't need much exposition bc there were two recent X-men movies. People know what to expect, so even if there's no marketing campaign at all, people will go see it because they liked the other ones.
That's my view on the subject.
If Superman is indeed a PG that I doubt it will attract as many teenagers.

Yeah, but if you have all these summer action blockbusters like X-Men 3 and POTC and then you have Superman who has a similar rating to a kids film it shows it wont have as much action or wont appeal to you as much that the others. If they are your types of films.
POTC was Disneys first PG-13 movie. That didn't stop children of all ages from seeing it and enjoying it, thus warrenting a sequal.

Woah, wait....SR is going to make money, no matter the rating. It could be rated R and be huge. It could be rated G and be huge. No, it wont make as much money as if it was PG13 (the best rating for it) but no matter the rating, it will make money. I think people forget that pretty much anybody can get into a PG13 film. I got into them when I was 9 without my parents. Its Superman! The people working in the BO will let you in....

Télé Star Magazine (FRANCE) - Shoreh Aghdashloo Interview/17 – 23 Dec 2005
http://www.irandokht.com/images/Awards.jpg
SHOCKWAVE: 24 Hits France
Darius Kadivar
Introduction & Translation
Interview by Télé Star's Frank Ragaine.
Loved or hated Shohreh Aghdashloo seems to equally push the boundaries of provocation and glitter particularly for her bold film choices but also for being a staunch supporter of Iranian actors and artists of the Diaspora. She was to surprise and even divide Iranians with her frequent critical attacks on another exiled compatriot, the Iconic Diva Singer Googoosh , whose Star Status is hardly deniable but who she accuses of belittling the LA based Iranian Artist community. While the debate has mostly amused her fans or her detractors it may be interesting to try and understand her approach as an actress whose Life and Art represent that of a new generation brutally confronted to the turmoil's of history and exile.
Born in Teheran in the 50's she was to achieve stardom in her native country before the revolution. She was noticed by photographers like Daryoush Radpour for her good looks and personality and was to work from an early start with such future greats as Abbas Kiarostami (Gozaresh) or Ali Hatami (Sooteh-Delan). Like many other Iranian rising stars of the 70's some of whom she befriended and worked with like the confirmed Behrouz Vossouhgi, Aghdashloo's career came to an abrupt halt with the 1979 revolution and the fall of the Shah's pro-western regime. Very much like during the French Terror under Robespierre , a cultural purge was unleashed against anything deemed as Taghouti aka Royalist. Night clubs and bars were shut down, beards became mandatory and many wearing ties or Eau de Cologne were often absurdly suspected as plotting against the new Islamic regime. American TV series were banned and the movie theaters were burned or shot down. Pop singers like Googoosh ( who stopped singing for 20 years before being allowed by authorities to leave the country in 2000), Dariush, Aref , Vigen or Hayedeh to name a few were to stop performing and if lucky enough were to leave the country towards an uncertain future or second career in London, Paris or LA. Others lost themselves in political idealism during the revolution either to protect themselves or by militant conviction like singer Marzieh who joined the unpopular MKO (Peoples Mujaheddin Khalg) in Iraq to resist the Islamic Republic.
In the midst of all this chaos, little place was left in Iran for an aspiring artists like Aghdashloo. After studying international relations in London, in the early eighties she decided to migrate to the US appearing in plays written by her husband actor Houshang Touzie . The latter was noticed by Parviz Sayyad ( Samad, Daiee Jan Napoleon) a popular actor/director before the revolution and who proposed him to play opposite him in Ferestadeh aka The Mission about an IRI agent set to assassinate a former SAVAK (The Shah's Secret Police) refugee in the US. Shot in 1983 the film was a fairly critical success for revealing issues of moral ambiguity of a pious Muslim who is faced with the dilemma of how to serve Islam and yet be forced to assassinate a man he gets to know and appreciate. This courageous film was also distributed clandestinely under the veil in Iran on copied VHS tapes.
Aghdashloo and her husband have struggled hard to enhance the Iranian theatre in the US and particularly in California. She was also to host shows on Iranian TV stations in LA. She also participated in some of several films dealing with the Iranian Diaspora in the US such as Ramin Serry's Maryam or Babak Shokrian's America so Beautiful which also were well received by both critics and viewers alike. However Shohreh Aghdashloo only got noticed outside the Iranian community for an Oscar nomination in 2003 for the screen adaptation of Andre Dubus III best selling novel The House of Sand and Fog . She plays the wife of a former general of the Iranian Imperial Army (Ben Kingsley) caught in a tragic and dark conflict with an emotionally unstable American woman ( Jennifer Connelly ). Ever since she has succeeded in different roles in Hollywood films with a taste for dark portraits or morally ambiguous roles like in the Horror film The Exorcism of Emily Rose or the upcoming Sci-Fi film X-Men 3 . She has also narrated the Audio Version of Carmen Bin Laden's (half Iranian sister in law of the notorious hunted terrorist) auto biography Inside the Kingdom: My Life in Saudi Arabia .
Fortunately in real life Aghdashloo also has a good sense of humor that drove her to do the voiceover's of the successful children cartoon Babak and Friends: A First Norooz with other Iranian stars like Parviz Sayyad and Catherine Bell.
Through an eclectic yet coherent filmography Shohreh Aghdashloo is certain to seduce film fans worldwide in a competitive profession where beautiful women are often typecast.
France is now discovering her as the infamous Terrorist Dian Araz opposite Kiefer Sutherland on French cable TV Canal Plus. Below is her interview with France's Top TV Magazine Télé Star (17 – 23 Dec 2005) http://www.telestar.fr/ :
TELE STAR: Was playing a terrorist knowing that you are Iranian a problem ?
Shohreh Aghdashloo: Yes of course it did. All the more that I did not wish to represent people from the Middle East as terrorists. It does not correspond to the reality. However once I agreed to do the role, I invested myself entirely.
TS: How ?
SA: By watching several episodes of 24 (laughter). I have to admit I didn't know the series. I wrote a small story and tried to imagine Dina's (her character) past, how she met her husband, there trips …
TS: Yourself you fled Iran …
SA: Yes, at the time of the Islamic republic. It was unsupportable, I could not accept a religious regime. I was a modern Women born in a family of intellectuals. It was out of the question to live suppressed. Back in 78, I took a car with two friends and we headed for Great Britain
TS: You were already an actress then ?
SA: Yes and even considered a Star. But when I came to Europe, I abandoned my acting career and studied political science. I wanted to help my country to get out of the mess. I got a degree in international relations. I was about to work in a newspaper in England when a friend gave me a part in a play. We came to the Us to present it and it was an immediate success. So I thought to myself that I could also be useful to my country by simply being an actress. I landed in Hollywood in 1987.
TS: Do you feel good here ?
SA: Yes I do, and I live with my husband (Houshang Touzie) also an actor and our daughter Tara. I love making movies. I played in this Fall's box office hit The exorcism of Emily Rose and in X-Men 3. I also played in a movie which will be released next year with Keenu Reeves and Sandra Bullock.
TS: You still didn't say anything about Kiefer Sutherland …
SA: He is an excellent actor and a gentleman, and Jack Bauer is an extraordinary hero. Since we know he will never die, everything is perfect !

Source: http://www.cinemagsonline.net/

He does an X-Men style voice-over for the trailer. Impressed me anyway. ITV trailers always impress me that said. They've got awful good at them recently.
I'm kicking myself for not keeping up with the chat shows this week. He was appearing on quite a few. I might have got a few titbits had I watched them.
I just bought february´s Empire and there is quite big article about X-Men 3. It has pictures from trailer. (they are not very good though.) They have interviewed Lauren Shuler Donner (she is descriping what kind of characters Beast, Angel and Magneto are)
And something from Ratner: "The action is much bigger. But it´s not action for action´s sake. There´s a lot of heart and lot of emotion, a little bit of sex appeal and romance. This has much bigger scope."

I don't know if this has been posted before and I didn't know where to post it but I was watching the TV a few nights ago and this show 'The Bigger Picture' came on and it was discussing air rage stories. It said Vinnie Jones told a flight stewardess he could "have the entire cabin crew murdered for £3000" Thought it was quite funny

It's already out - you have to scroll through a few movies to get to X-3.

With Brett Ratner's massive cast still ballooning, there's no telling what array of colorful mutants we'll see on screen come summer. ''There's a ton of characters,'' laughs Kelsey Grammer, who endured hours in blue paint and prosthetics to play the woolly brainiac Beast. ''There may be more or less, depending on how that final cut comes together.'' As the winged Angel, Six Feet Under's Ben Foster (pictured) also joins X-Men regulars Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, and Famke Janssen for the trilogy's final act. ''Who said this was the last one?'' snaps Foster. Um, the guy from Frasier. ''I think you caught him when he was just peeling out of that big blue suit.''

Just got Empire there, thanks BB. Had quick scan through it and there doesn't seem to be any X3 stuff in it. On a side note - X2 made it into the Top 201 Movie Countdown, number 174, a bit low I would have thought, but twas a public vote.
Thats funny considering the X-Films were voted 5th best movie franchise in a recent poll
"A moving story of redemption and the power of love. But not in a gay way. Probably." Now THAT´S an article! :D

X-MEN 3
Superman Returns !

http://babelfish.altavista.com/
IN COVER With that of Spider-Man, the X-Men frankness proved to be most lucrative and the most appreciated adaptations of Marvel Comics. A third episode was thus inevitable and, in May 2006, will arrive on the screens of the whole world X-Men 3, new misadventure of the secret war confronting the joined together heroic mutants around professor Xavier with the henchmen of the Magneto disaster. We will find there the supermen high-speed motorboats of the two preceding parts, which it acts of Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Storm (Berry Market), or Magneto (Ian McKellen). And we will discover new mutants which had not appeared yet with the cinema: Angel or Beast in particular. Pascal Pinteau reconsiders the production of this X-Men 3, signed this time by Brett Ratner and either by Bryan Singer, creator of the first two episodes. This last being currently with the orders of... Superman Returns!
It's never perfect though...:)

The biggest problems Spanish magazines have are the translation and where they look for information... Have you read the magazine that comes with Canarias 7 newspaper on Sunday? I can't believe a "journalist" could be so inaccurate: he did a review about Bryan Adams concert and made up the songs Bryan sang. Just one of the songs was Bryan's and I know he didn't sing it because I was in the concert in the very front of the scenario.
At least they used good pics in that review. Thanks for posting it!
