I had quit reading DC before either of these characters came along so I am not familiar with either of them. Since I have always liked the Daxamites and slightly disliked the Marvels, without any particular reason for either, I will choose Andromeda.

I'm gonna go with Hector, and I'm gonna assume that's Hector, because while the T-Bolt may be powerful, it's only as powerful as the person telling it what to do. Jakeem has come a long way, but I gotta figure Hector has a better chance with Nabu telling him what to do than T-Bolt does with Jakeem.

I honestly don't understand why "There is a new Dr. Fate, his name is Kent Nelson, HE IS NEW HE IS NOT THE OLD ONE" has been so slow to get around. :O I swear, ten years from now everyone's still gonna be wondering why there's a NEW DR. FATE.

Well, come on, there's obscure and then there's obscure. Diana of the New Olympians? You could easily read DC comics for years and have no clue who she is. I know this to be true because it's exactly the situation I find myself in. :oldrazz:
Anyway, since all I can go on is Wikipedia and what others have said, I'm gonna go with Shado. Diana doesn't seem to have any particularly potent archery powers, and Shado's proven that she's among the best archers in the DC universe, and not too shabby in the martial arts department to boot.

Well Diana is suposed to be named after the goddess of the hunt and is suposed to be an extrodinary tracker and archer. The problem is she lost an archery competion to Katana. Archery isn't even Katana's main skill. In fact I don't know if she's ever picked up a bow any other time. I mean she's a samurai so kyudo should be one of her skills but not to the level of being one of the best in DC's universe.

Superman. Yellow or Green ring Sinestro would still eventually have to recharge, Supes has gone quite a long time without being in direct sunlight and he's nigh invulnerable. Worst case scenario... Sinestro gets tuckered out and Clark punches him... really hard in teh face. Match over.

Sinestro could create an energy field around Supes that absorbs solar energy from Supes own body and uses the energy to constrict. Invisibility and intangibility would provide complete protection. If Sinestro fights smart there should be no way for Supes to win.
TheCorpulent1
08-17-2009, 03:49 PM
Invisibility and intangibility don't seem to be part of the standard GL/Sinestro Corps arsenal since Rebirth. Or even the Silver Age, since I don't recall Kyle using them (although I could have missed issues where he did). GLs pretty much live and die solely by their constructs now, and I wouldn't bet on Sinestro conjuring an energy absorption field that could completely drain Superman before Superman could close the distance and smash through his defenses.
Silicon Surfer

I've seen a scan of Hal and Kilowog explaining to Thomas Kalmaku about the ring and it refers to both invisibility and intangibility in the explanation. Then Hal lets Thomas Kalmaku try out the ring. I don't know where the scans came from but they do not appear to be Silver Age.

Kyle has turned invisible (and inaudible) several times, most notably in Identity Crisis when he and Wally spied on the mindwipers, and also in JLA/Avengers when he and Aquaman spied on Dr. Doom. Sinestro could hide from Superman if he wanted to. 'Course, that wouldn't win him the fight.

I highly doubt that Superman could get past power-ring induced invisibility, unless the wearer was dumb enough to make himself invisible only to the human eye and not to all alien/physiological detection. That would defeat the whole purpose of a power ring usable by, y'know, every single species in the universe. The Guardians' tech is light-years beyond almost all other tech. I don't know about the soul vision dickery, but I assume there must be a physiological way to get around it.

That's true hands down, about the power and durablity, but it's the Intelligence that handicaps him. It's been shown in the past that against someone of Kryptonian power level will power is drained quite quickly even among the strongest ring wielders so Stewart isn't going to have very long before he has effectively no power left. Possibly only seconds if Bizarro is in the mood to truly unload from the very beginning of the fight. It doesn't take much brainpower to know that if you hit someone really hard they don't like it.

So Stewart, who's oen of the most focused Lanterns they've showcased, is strategic about it and needles him at the outset. He knows Bizzaro, he knows his weakness, the primary being his low intelligence and he exploits it to the fullest. He doesn't have to kill him, he's just got to knock him out lon enough to constitute a victory.
Stewart's going to lower the boom on a very dim Bizzaro and then it's lights out.

If Stewart is being at all subtle and strategic that is relatively new. For the first 25 years of his existence he was as far from subtle as a character could get. He was all about raw power at first. That is why Hal had arguments with the Guardians about his ever being given a ring. Still my knowledge of Stewart is even more out of date than about most DC characters since it has been a long time since I have seen more than an isolated scan. Oh yeah..I totally understand where you're coming from on this, but I think if he saw an opponent with the red/blue/cape outfit (even if they are dumb as a freakin' post), he'd play a smarter game, rather than going mano a mano on him, (and possibly wearing the ring out).
