Hmm... I wonder did Blaze get hurt as Ghost Rider and it was transferred to his human body or is that something that happened as he was in his human form. The reason why I ask is because I'm wondering how much they are keeping this as separate entities. In the comic when Ghost Rider was hurt, Dan/Blaze wasn't.

Like the rest of you, I like that graveyard pic a whole lot. If nothing else, the mood of this flick should be perfect.

I've gotten to the point where using the comics for the basic design (even though to this point I have never really stuck to any of the Ghost Rider's comic outfits) is just losing it's appeal. Just want to see something new to inspire new Ghost Rider work from me.

i dont recall Whistler in the 70s Tomb of Dracula w/ Blade but Caretaker did appear in GR #34 which i think was around 1992. Whistler didnt show up in the Nightstalkers comic (at least i dont remember if he did) but he might have shown up in the Blade ongoing series.

okay guys i know that this is not the thread for this and maybe this is not important to you but theres something that's really bothering me since i saw the poster and the long chain GR's carriyng. being the chain the most important weapon that he carries action wise this is, i was thinking how are they going to make that chain work. My fear is that it ends up being all cg, and i know that in the comics the chain is long but maybe it should have been a little shorter for the movie, so the action involving it could be a real chain been used by a stunt for nic cage or nic himself. on a second though what the hell does it matter right? as long as it looks like a real chain in the movie. what do you guys think? oh maybe you dont care.

i think its been pretty much understood that they will have to use a cgi chain. there is no way to get around all of the tricks that the chain will do w/out using cgi and having it look cheap.
im sure though there will be some scenes where GR will use the chain w/out having to rely on sfx...maybe strangle or beat one of the demons to death.

Whistler never appeared in the comics until the Blade movie adaptation. He was a character created by Goyer and first appeared in the Spiderman animated series in the 90s as Blades helper on an episode he guest stared where they teamed up to fight morbius.

I think as goyer was probabley writing the script for Blade he thought of the Caretaker character and thought his Blade could use a character like that.

In the old Tomb of Dracula comics its said in Blades origin that he was raised by a black Jazz musican who was also a vampire slayer and trained blade.

There are going to be comparisons made by non-fans regardless....personally i dont care. ill set them straight when necessary but in the end it doesnt matter to me if the majority of the movie going public thinks GR is a rip off or copying another character. you, me and all of the fans that have been following GR know better. im not expecting GR to be hit w/ the mainstream audience...it can flop at the theaters but it really doesnt matter. As fans we already won....the fact that we are getting a movie based on GR is amazing. added to fact that it will be faithful to the story and character (w/ some minor changes of course) even more so.

He look's awsome and i know cage alway's thin and stuff but for some reason, as thin as he look's, his kinda messed up hair, his serious face, the way he stand's in that pic in the graveyard and the way he lookes tired and kinda confuse and the close up pic of him on the cycle he remind's me alot as he did in the 1997 action hit Face/Off and is one of my fav. film's..anyway for people who have seen it, he look's like cage as shawn arshor when he is already transformed but with leather pant's and a big cool leather jacket

There seems to be two kinds of characters Cage does well. "Tired and kinda confused" is one of them (Leaving Las Vegas, Bringing Out the Dead, most of Face/Off etc.). The other one could be described as "insane maniac" (Kiss of Death, beginning of Face/Off).

Seems to me that is exactly the duplicity you need for Ghost Rider.

Cage is perfect for Blaze he may be geting older but he still look's to be in top shape and he definatly is the intensity/drama/action type and is a good formula for a character like blaze/GhostRider..I just hope is dark enough i mean a movie like should be dark like spawn the live-action film but im about 80%(other % is untill i see the trailer/pic's/more info) this film will rock and will be faithful to GhostRider and people will prob want a part 2 or a trilogy-which would be so awsome,..next summer is to far to what next july? when does it come out?? i just forgot

Sorry to steal your thunder, Supersebas, but that's a shot from the ComicCon footage and it is definitely not what Ghost Rider will look like in the finished film. Mark Steven Johnson himself has confirmed that. It was a very brief shot and hastily cobbled together.

I'm sure he'll look ten times better in the finished film. God willing, we'll get a glimpse of the finished product soon.

For some reason, I'm more impressed with stills of Ghost Rider than the moving footage. And the more I look, the more impressed I am. Three cheers to MSJ for sticking true to the classic Ghost Rider look and the guys at Sony Imageworks for this mouth-watering work.

Atleast in the clip where he is using the chains to punch the camera I thought he didn't have the gloves on because it was an earlier transformation and he didn't have gloves at the time. I was thinking he got gloves when he got a spiked jacket because he isn't wearing one when we see him punching with the chain..

Ahhh...now i finally had some time to watch the domestic trailer at 1/2 speed...
and i saw some beautiful things:D
1) the scene where Grace morphs in the Hellcycle you can see the stylized long skeletal hand(wich grasps the gas tank on the hc)slowly coming out from the gap between the saddle and the gas thank!!!! Not to mention the various elements of the engine chainging position, it seems the pistons change by at least 90°, and the obvious shifting of the exhausts:D
2) For the first time in the successive scene we see GR movie gloves close. They appear a pair of normal leather gloves(still i dunno how we can still se the knuckles on the fingers a little protunding out.. if this is a good stunt hand casting or fx the result is still excellent) but we can see on top of them what seems a leather band covering only the back of the hands and partially the initial knuckles, in this part resembling pre-formed biker protections, with a spike for each knuckles, enabling these four to protrude forth when the fist is closed...Ouch! Until now it is really faithful to the comic! It really seems we will see some painful GR II signature punch :D
This covering back hand part seems to me one thing with the arm bands, that are still three for each arm, with each one a line of spikes, like in the comic, but in the movie it seems they have gone with a formula of four spikes line, againste the six of the comi. Also the spikes are distribuited not all around the arms but only on the upper and side parts(probably the spikes on the inside of the arms were against actual mobility of the stuntman)
3) The more important(to me) of all. The firing up of the chain sequence itself. I saw at least 30 times at 1/2 speed now. Someone could wonder how 2 loop of chain around GR torso can become so long in the various scenes...
It seems they have choosen what i defined time ago the "autoforging system". We can see the two hand near each other keeping tightly the chain.
Then GR pulls the hand apart, but he still keep the chain tight! No ring slipped between the two hands!:D In there we can see instead new chain formed, red hot from the insta-forging with hellfire:D After that we see the red hot hue and the flames extending over the sides, so we can imagine all the rest of the chain elongatin in the same manner. Still is a great way to do it, starting the process between the hands. You know, it reminded vaguely of how Voltron created his sword :D

Ghost Rider's creators are unknown?

Yeah, I'm like the only one in my school that knows this stuff. Any Marvel related thing. I mention Ghost Rider and they're like "What's that?" so I have to explain it.
I just do it very fast though. People say it sounds cool so maybe I'm getting people interested so they will see the movie.:D:ghost:
