She didn't get banned, she's only been given probation. Due to some picture that was posted which she was against, I believe.

Probationary Ban

She was saying that she was "marked" after this, I've never seen her act so freaked out (and I've told her some freaky things).

Probationary Ban

She was saying that she was "marked" after this, I've never seen her act so freaked out (and I've told her some freaky things).

She was bothered by the fact of threads getting closed for no apparent reason, along with some people not obeying the rules and posting pictures that weren't allowed.

I'm going to have to wait for her to continue our interation in the Ultimate DC RPG...

I'd rather be doing it than that.

What am I talking about? I have no clue either.

It's not my fault Deathstroke is cool.

I'm neither starting an agument or in the mood for one. But I will say this.

You conplained about wanting to play Superboy and now you're moaning about wanting to play someone else. If you want to change then do so.

You keep moaning about wanting to play other characters when you pushed so hard for your current one.

What do you guys wanna do with Beast Boy?

The Question
05-07-2006, 09:48 PM
Maybe he could shot up to help with the riots, and help Superman fight Lobo. I mean, Beast Boy is pretty power ful. He could turn into a bug, fly over Lobo, and then turn into a whale and slam into him. Or, he could turn into a bug, crawl into Lobo's ear, and turn into a whale. Or, since he's turned into alien speicese before, he could turn into a Kryptonian. Or a Czarnian.

wiegeabo
05-07-2006, 09:54 PM
Maybe a female Czarnian. That would distract him.

Or Beast Boy could head over to Star City and help the cops out with the explosion of crime and mob war. (Watch out for the corrupt cops. Lieutenant Mitchelson of the 101 is ok though.)

Trigger I found the last mention of Rose for way back in season III for ya

As soon as Slade reached the end of the alley, the Unity transported him to his hotel suite in Metropolis. The building was 10 stories high, filled with Unified guards ready to die at Deathstroke's beckon. He pulled off his mask and grabbed a towel, wiping the sweat and blood from his face. Then there was a scream from the other room.

"Daddy!" Rose came running out the bedroom, "I thought you were never going to come home!"

Slade hugged his daughter then walked over to the bar, pouring out a glass of scotch. He pounded his first one down then instantly began filling up for round two. The warm liquid burned his throat as he gasped out, "I missed you too sweety. Now that those boy scouts are running around playing our game of cat and mouse, you and I will finally have some time to catch up."

Its not much.

But when wackos start to make idiotic threads proclaiming how CINO was "sooo" much better than the actual comic book Catwoman, or how brilliant the acting and special effects were in the movie, then we have to call in the rest of Haturz League to put those crazies out of their misery.

It had to be the only board on the Hype where the movie's actual supporters filled the position of the forum's resident trolls. Man, there was one guy named 'roy' who was banned for being an idiot. A few days after we breathed a sigh of relief in his absence, roy came back under the new alias of 'royisback.' Wouldn't you know it? He was banned again not long afterwards.

When did she wear BC..? Or Batgirl..?

The BC thing was a mistake (I was thinking of the bit with Mia), but here's the Batgirl post:

The woman crouched on the rooftop, deep in the shadows.
It was late and the wind nipped at her cheeks, unprotected under the hood of her long jacket. She was waiting. It had been two nights. She’d spent most of them on top of roofs, without a reason or thought. She had no purpose other than one.
Soon that purpose arrived.

The slender figure dressed in black landed lightly on the opposite side of the roof. The jagged edges of the cape rippled onto the rooftop, creating a stark contrast between the jet black fabric and the white of the snow.
“No, I haven’t seen anyone.” came a muffled female voice from the figure as it turned its head. It was hard to hear the voice through the cowl which covered the females face like a ski mask. Two little points of fabric rose from either side of her head, a poor imitation of what nature gifted bats with. The figure turned till her profile was visible, making it possible to see the soft lines of a teenage girl. The yellow outline of half a bat was visible on her chest.
Batgirl.

The woman in the shadows pushed down any urges she had. This wasn’t the time or the place.
Right now it was just surveillance. Close proximity surveillance.
The childish voice came again, “Alright, I’m on my way.” Before a line shot from her hand and she was gone.
The woman stayed hidden for a moment before emerging from the shadows and walking to the edge of the roof. She reached it just in time to see a small black figure disappear behind a building in the distance, the girl’s cape fluttering behind her.

The woman turned and gazed up at the sky. Clouds covered the skies over Gotham City. The bright moon light shone through them creating a soft blue toned glow which varied in intensity as it shone through different layers of clouds. Unlike the clouds that had been covering Gotham for days, these clouds brought no snow. Only cold, cold which seemed to burrow it’s self into the bones of the city’s populace. Pulling her hood off the woman allowed her dark hair down, the barely perceptible breeze pushed the cold air at her.
She turned and disappeared into the night, the large symbol of a bat behind her on the clouds.

ANNOUNCEMENT

My birthday is Tuesday, and (since you're my friends) I just want to let you guys know that I don't want a thread made for it. Seriously, I don't. This is not a reverse-psychology hint that's telling you that I do want one. I don't, and if one is made I will request that it be closed. I will, however, still appreciate any Happy Birthdays thrown my way in these threads. Thank you for your time.

Why is the letter that Lex sent to the Rogues still in one piece? I actually planned (http://www.superherohype.com/forums/showpost.php?p=7691265&postcount=212) specifically to counteract the possibility of blackmail when I had them sent out. They'd be destroyed after ten minutes exposure to oxygen once its envelope is unsealed.

Q's interpretation is the closest to the Denny O'Neil comics that I've ever seen. The one on JLU isn't really like the O'Neil one or the Ditko one. JLU's Question reminds me of Milton Dammers from the Frighteners more than anyone else, and it's not just because it's the same actor.

I expected that after 52 if he survived, he'd atleast get a new mini series of some sort. But Johns sounded confident in his words about him getting his own title, we'll just have to see if it actually happens. He is a great character, I was glad to see that JLU reintroduced him to people who didn't even know who he was.

Hey guys, we could realy use some players over in the Amalgam RPG. We are getting realy good storylines going, very dramatic and realisitic stuff, I suppose because we don't have to use much of a backstory and we have created a realy grounded one of our own, but there are plenty of characters from the comic series yet to be intoduced, aswell you may create your own amalgam of a marvel and DC character. So please, if your interested visit our thread,

I almost forgot; a while ago, in my post where Rudy first began talking to Lois, I had him wonder if she'd be giving the same treatment for "Jack." Jack, of course would be the Joker. And Rudy called attention to him because of his involvement in Lois' original death.

I remembered that when the Joker first encountered the Unity, Keyser had his character referred to as Jack since the Unity called everyone by their real names. And now, if anyone would currently know the Joker's real name, it'd be the Parasite because he tried to drain the Joker in the first Season.

Just a little trivia. I love referencing little known details of past exploits in the game whenever possible. Few people seem to catch those sneaky devils. :D

Twilight, sorry for the extensive bunnying. I thought with your OOC note at the end of your post you were kinda giving me free reign to do a little bit of a back and forth battle. Feel free to respond in kind, and we can take the fight from here...

For everyone wondering about the THEY, it's a plot point that will be really important some time next year. If it works, it'll be the biggest, most epic story I've done yet. I'd ideally like to involve the Western Legends, the JSA, the JLA, the Legion of Superheroes, the Legionairres, and the Justice Legion A in the THEY arc.

What this means for all the players is that I want all the heroes to be involved fighting this threat outside of time and space. If anyone has any huge issues with this, please tell me now before I really get rolling and plotting this out, I want to know who wants to be involved and who doesn't want to be involved.

Well, I'm working out something big with Sinestro that will probably require a good number of heroes to be involved with. It might not interfere depending on how long the THEY arc is going to take. If it's only going to be the first half or two-thirds of the season, it should actually work well with what I want to do.

In all honesty I've never been that much of a fan of large scale arc's They are great and all when they aren't used so frequently. If this one's going to on such a great scale as you say it is LT, it might have the same weaknesses as previous arc's have had, such as non-powered character's and villians having little to do.

If you do that, I might consider playing Robin, The Toy Wonder. :o

Also, Q... You're our escort to the Gotham TV Station. Figured you'd want to know a way back into the game.

From a purely personal perspective, I'm not really a fan of these epic, inter-galactic arcs. It means that lower-level characters like The Joker are left with nothing really to do.

I actually loved the part of the Unity arc where the Joker rolled up his sleeves and stood up to the Parasite to save Batman. Even to this day, I'm still tempted to make pictures of some of my favorite moments throughout the RPG's history, and that moment is right near the top of my list.

I understand your worries, X. And I did learn a lot from my Darkseid Invasion arc from the One Universe RPG (namely, to do exactly what I'm doing right now, seeing who wants to be involved in the arc, etc.).

As to non-powered characters and lower-tier villains having little to do, there will be plenty for the non-super heroes to do. Without saying too much, the beginning of this huge event that will tie into every DC timeline will be an assault by THEY on the 21st century DC Earth. Havoc, chaos, explosions, and most importantly, people that need to be saved. Superman and the Justice League may be going to treat the source of the problem, but it will be up to the lower level heroes to make sure that the Justice League have an Earth to come back to!

As to the lower level villains, you can't tell me that a mind like the Joker's or Thaddeus Bodog Sivana or any one of another dozen villains won't revel in this chaos, confusion, and death. Just as a sort of preview, the world will finally become like the Joker's always wanted it to be: everyone is seemingly as mad as he is.

Epic arcs, these massive universe spanning stories are great for guys like Superman because they get to flex their muscles and we get to see a side of them that we don't normally see. For the street level heroes (and villains!) these Crises give them a chance to prove themselves, a chance to step up and stand shoulder to shoulder with the biggest of the big heroes. At least, that's how I see it.

Still comes back to something I touched upon earlier in the OCC thread, if there is an epic arc that eclipses the whole RPG, it kind of none and void's all other schemes by the villains.

I’m sorry if in any way I’m coming across augmentative, because I’m not trying too in the slightest. I'm just giving my opinion on the matter.

I have to admit even though I've designed the current path I've placed J'onn on to be flexible in regards to the arcs of others, this seems like it will be too big for those who don't want to be involved in the story, and they'll get left out. Even the Unity arc, which was able to accomodate lower powered characters, had times where some of our players stopped posting altogether. Plus, on the heels of the Deadly Alliance arc, the Unity arc, and this past season (which seemed to mimic Villains United in a way) I'd personally like it if next season was just the establishing of the Justice League and some small personal arcs.

Though, seeing as how the THEY arc occurs out of space and time, maybe those who want to be involved can go and play through it while the others are left on Earth (somewhat like a DC Secret War) to cope with both their personal stories plus the loss of the other heroes (with Superman missing there will be a huge vacuum to fill there).

Just my $.07.

Although I'm not currently involved with the RPG, I was a part of the Dark Alliance (or Deadly Alliance as it was sometimes referred too) during season 2, which most on here will probably consider one of the first few epic stories we held in this RPG (heck, me and Blaze were even discussing it today). Thing is, things never got to rest after that one. We had the Unity in season 3, which really tied together plot elements from those first 3 seasons and pulled every character and story together.

This season though, originally as a renewal and reinvigoration seems to have gotten a little thrown to the wayside. Heck, the Justice League was supposed to reform in this one. I think it'd be best to have season 4 to finally be that down-time season, at least, in the beginning anyway. Really define the RPG again.

I might be coming back for season 4 by the way.

I personally, and this is only my opinion, think this is a good idea, especially since we never got to do the Secret War thing over in the Marvel RPG.

My point exactly. All these "world-shattering" storylines get boring if there's no down time in between.

Selfeshly speaking, I was hoping next season would be filled with little to medium arcs that brought the League back together. With something big at the end to 'seal the deal' and prove to the characters that breaking up was the wrong thing to do.

And since our seasons don't run for a full year anyway, if the THEY arc started in season 6, and we time it right, then the attack by THEY could literally happen 365 days 10 hours after the Waverider post in which he said it would happen at that time.

The Waverider quote was actually a reference to when I wanted to start the THEY arc. Keep in mind this is an arc that will happen early next year. This is not something that will happen next season, or even the season after that (most likely). I will slowly build to it in my Superman posts, yes, but the arc and THEY event itself is a long ways off yet.

Also, the League has reformed this season, but due to all of the other arcs going on there hasn't yet been time for the League to construct a new HQ or even invite more members than those it currently has.

The reformation of the League, when it's finally done, will require a big event. The JLA, in my mind, should be very much like Grant Morrison's run on the series. Big villains, big threats, bigger heroes.
