Hello!
We’d like to welcome old and new players to Season IV of the DC Universe RPG.
A World of Heroes!
In a moment of nostalgia we’d just like to say that this RPG has gone through three seasons, and a little over one year.
Hopefully this season will exceed all expectations, but that depends on you as players.DC in the last year has made great leaps and bounds in storylines, now it’s your turn as players to do the same.

This RPG is based off of post-Crisis on Infinite Earths and pre-Infinite Crisis.

RULES

You can choose to be any superhero or supervillain in the DC Universe, as long as they:

Are to be established on Earth, as in, if Lobo is to be involved, he has to reside in a DCU Earth city...

Are NOT deities, gods, or people such as Shazam the Wizard. People like Superman and Captain Marvel are okay, though...

Are true to the personality and abilities of the character, such as NO Pre-Crisis Superman, no moving planets, sneezing away the Milky Way, no amnesia kiss... EVERYTHING is set POST-Crisis, and Post-Zero Hour, in the current continuity of the character you are/wish to play/playing.

You can reside in any city in the DC Universe; anywhere is fine, as long as it's on Earth. YOU CAN NOW ALSO TRAVEL OFF-PLANET...

This is a working environment, so you can travel to different places using your powers or vehicles. Don't miraculously pop up unless you're a teleporter or such.

Don't do anything RANDOM like chopping off board user's heads or what not, unless your a villain chopping off inanimate victims heads, then whatever, go with it, as long as it's not technically RANDOM.
Don't be killing people without reason.
Don't randomly kill NPC's.

You know your weaknesses and strengths, what you can do or can't. Black Canary will lose against Superman one on one, but may be able to use her allies to help her out or she can run away. (HA! Yeah ri-ght)

You should have a ‘home base of some sort, at least in the beginning when you’re not traveling...

Don’t kill a PC unless you have a plan to bring them back.
Don’t kill your character when you quit the RPG, this rob's a person from playing that character.

If there is a problem between you and another player,

There will be NO By-passing the censors. This is a Hype rule, and NO exceptions will be made for the RPG.

What to do in the RPG-

Act like your character; ASSUME their traits and personality...

You can form super villain gang’s superhero teams, alliances, the works.

There can be a number of stories (or arcs) going on at once, using different people.

There are endless places to go and endless things to do: ENDLESS possibilities so get creative...


People who disobey these rules, some more major than the others, will get BOOTED a la DEW K. MOSI. As she said about the first thread...


The game is closed. It will start again and the first person to screw it up will be booted.

1) I played him last season, and people seemed to like it.

I wrote Guy for most of season 3, and I think I kept to the spirit of the character. I also write in three of the other rpg's that are running at the moment, and I think you can tell from those posts that i'm pretty good with the characters I choose.

Screen Name: Johnny Blaze

Character you would like to play: Mirror Master (Evan McCulloch)

Powers: Evan is just a regular Scotsman, but is a skilled hitman with training in hand-to-hand fighting. The government gave him the weapons and identity of the first Mirror Master, Sam Scudder, and tried to use him as an agent. He eventually turned on them and set out on his own, eventually joining the Rogues. McCulloch can travel through any reflective surfaces using his mirror technology and can trap people into other dimensions, some worse than Hell. He has been shown to be able to interact physically with people through their reflections (slitting the reflection’s throat is mirrored by the real person), he can turn people to glass with his gun, create life like illusions and copies of himself, and has a variety of other mirror related gadgets and weapons at his disposal.

Three reasons why you have chosen that character: The Mirror Master is my favorite Rogue, just beating out Cold. I’ve wanted to play a Rogue for a while; there different than other rogue galleries in that they’re more of a family, and I like that aspect of them. Mirror Master’s skills and devices make him a deadly opponent for anyone to take on, and it’s about time the Flash’s Rogues started getting some more respect in this RPG.

Write two complete sentences using proper English grammar explaining what you think you can bring to the RPG: I bring experience in RPing, having played in RPGs on the Hype and having played D&D for many years prior. I’ll be adding another great villain to the mix, who will be a foil for all the heroes to worry about, not just Flash.

Character you would like to play: The Question

Powers: None. Skilled hand to hand combatant and detective. The gas he uses to adhere his mask to his face can be used as a defensive weapon. Also, last season in the RPG, he got a grappling gun and a handgun.

Group your character is aligned with (if applicable): He was a member of The Sentinels of Justice and L.A.W. (two experiances he'd be happy to forget), but currently, he runs solo. For now.....

Three reasons why you have chosen that character: He's one of my favorite DC characters, and I've been playing him for the past two seasons.

Write two complete sentences using proper English grammar explaining what you think you can bring to the RPG: Well, I'm a good writer. I can build on the iseas of others well.

How many times do you intend on posting a DAY IN the RPG: As much as possible. Probably one to six times if the RPG's moving bat a good pace.

Color and font you plan on using for your characters speech (Might not be applicable but it makes the roster pretty): Blue palatino linotype when he's just talking to people all social like, dark blue itallic palatino linotype when he's trying to be creepy (which is most of the time when he's in mask).

Powers:
The Joker has no superpowers. However, he has various comically-disguised weapons at his disposal, the most deadly being Joker Venom, a fatal poison - often in the form of laughing gas - that leaves grins on the victim's faces.

Group your character is aligned with (if applicable):
The Joker is not a member of any groups. However, he has been known to loosely align himself with other villains when necessary. The closest thing he has to a partner is Harley Quinn. And on that note, I have been using Harley as an NPC. If anybody wants to join as her, I'd be happy to work with you.

Three reasons why you have chosen that character:
1. The Joker is not only my favourite DC villain, but also my favourite comic book character.

2. I have now been playing as The Joker for two seasons. I feel comfortable with the character.

3. He's The frickin' Joker! If I dropped him for a second, he'd be snapped up by another player!

I now have a good deal of role-playing experience, having played in this RPG for two seasons, the Marvel RPG for four seasons (over a year), and various other RPGS, including the recently-started One Universe RPG. I also feel that I am skilled at giving depth and nuance to villains.

At least once. But of course, if I'm involved in a fight, I could post 5, 10 times in a day. However much is necessary.

I was already established in the Marvel RPG when I was contacted through PM about taking part in the DC RPG. I briefly toyed with the idea of joining as Jim Gordon or Ra's al Ghul, but when The Joker was freed up by Spike, I jumped at the chance to play The Clown Prince Of Crime.

Powers: None, except for his olympian physice' (I butchered that word), his advanced gadgets, his stratagic mind, and the fact that he's just about as crazy as a fox.

Hey guys, something I noticed. When Tropico stopped playing, Superboy just kind of disapeared. Same thing happened with our Azrael. We should make it a rule that if the player disapeares and the character made any interaction with another character, then that other character should use the character as an NPC until he/she can think of a way bto write that character out.

I'm not sure if i will hang on to Red X for long next season would it be ok if did a short arc as him while playing another character?

So I play as Red X for a short time, while playing as the other character. Finish as Red X then continue with my other character?

- Normal human with excellent marksmanship skills.
- Excellent hand-to-hand combatant.
- Shielded uniform which includes infrared sight and compact wrist-rifle with interchangeable barrels firing items from bullets to grappling hooks.
Three reasons why you have chosen that character:
- Because I love Deadshot (and the Suicide Squad)
- It's time to be a villain again
- He's a badass through and through

Powers: None, Scarecrow uses fear gases that invoke a person's greatest fear.

Three reasons why you have chosen that character:
1. One of my favorite DC villains
2. It would be fun to write as him
3. I believe that I'm doing a good job with him in the One Universe RPG and I want to continue the character.


Write two complete sentences using proper English grammar explaining what you think you can bring to the RPG: I think that I'm a pretty good writer. Also I'm bringing an intresting villain and make him not just a threat to Batman but also to many other DC characters.

Three reasons why you have chosen that character: 1) I have several stories that I want to tell as the character.
2) He has connections to almost everyone in the RPG in some form or another and I look forward to trying to manipulate some people for my own gain.
3) He's freakin' Lex Luthor! It is not the DCU without him around, planning something evil.

Powers: None, but he's got lots of nifty weapons, gadegets, and gizmos. Plus, he's a great fighter (what crime fighter isn't?)

1. I played him last last season.

2. The Question asked me to play as him.

3. I feel I can make this character evolve in ways we'll never see now that he's been killed off in regular continuity.

However, his spirit lingered on, infused with the mystical energies of the fear gas. He then began driving people insane all over the country. The Question (that's me), figured thos out, and with the help of Dr. Fate returned Cran back to the land of the living. He retained some of his powers after that, but they soon faded (although, you could make it interesting and have him discover that he still has some psychic abilities). He was last seen with The Joker, having set a bio weapon off in Bludhaven with him that killed most of the citozens. He is currently at large.

Back in season 2, Scarecrow teamed up with Mordru, Black Adam, Deathstroke, and the Shade to form the Dark Alliance and make war against the heroes. Mordru gave Scarecrow a mystical scythe which unlocked his inner monster (the Scarebeast). In the final battle in Keystone City, Crane was stopped and seemingly faded away. Turns out he became a fear demon who was stuck "haunting" the section of Keystone where he faded away.
Long story short, the Question was able to stop him with a little help from Fate, and he became normal again.
During the Unity arc, he teamed up with the Joker and a few other of Gotham's rogues to help stop the Unity in their own unique way (lots and lots of killing). He was responcible for creating the massive bomb of Joker Venom that wiped out the population of Bludhaven, leaving all of the city's people dead with a hideous grin on their faces.

Not sure if he did anything after that as it's all I can remember off the top of my head.

Hey guys, something I noticed. When Tropico stopped playing, Superboy just kind of disapeared. Same thing happened with our Azrael. We should make it a rule that if the player disapeares and the character made any interaction with another character, then that other character should use the character as an NPC until he/she can think of a way bto write that character out.

Just a few more notes on Scarecrow. After being seperated from The Joker during a battle at Blackgate Prison, The Scarecrow began to once again work on his own. However, he was found by Nightwing, who proceeded to beat the hell of him and send his ass to jail.

Since Arkham Aylum was destroyed by Wonder Woman last season, I assume Scarecrow is currently being held in custody in Blackgate Prison.

My goals for season IV:

1) Make Superman relatable and believable. Many current comics take the role of Superman as god amongst men, whereas what attracted me to the character was how mentally he is very much a man, who was gifted with powers and abilities far beyond those of most mortals. Yet he is still, essentially, a man, and his struggle is unifying his dual existence as both a mere mortal and a demi-god.

2) I want to do something unexpected and surprising with the Man of Steel this season. I've already told some people what it's going to be, but I look forward to showing the Man of Tomorrow in a different light.

3) Steel and Superboy will make appearances, as will Jonathan and Martha Kent and most of Superman's other supporting cast. Yes, even Bibbo Bibbowski. I want to tie the mortal to the immortal, essentially.

4) At the end, I want Superman to make a choice, and reclaim who he is.

I'd highly suggest doing some research on Darkseid before RPing him. THe Darkseid Respect Thread that was up a bit ago should suffice. Darkseid is capable of taking down Superman with a single punch (though that might be too powerful for the Man of Steel). A properly RPed Darkseid is something I'm having trouble with, even though people apparently like my take on him in the One Universe RPG. If you want to talk about it, feel free to PM me.

Most of the time he's like the Hulk. Childlike in motivations. I plan to play him along those lines. The rhyme just comes in when he's kinda dazed. Plus, I'm sure all those bad guys out there will find evil ways to motivate him. Heh.

During Season 1, Sinestro unleashed an army of Quardians (sp) onto the Watchtower and eventually sent it crashing into one of the poles (if memory serves me correctly).

During Season II, the Parasite destroyed it by taking remote control of many other orbital satelites and smashing them into the Watchtower (killing 2 birds with one stone by removing the Watchtower and also preventing anyone from detecting the Unity's arrival).

Well, his personality and manner of speech and inteligence varies every time he's reborn, just like with his strength level. Some times, he's completely midless, only spouting that nursury rhym over and over. Sometimes, he's like The Hulk, all "GRUNDY SMASH PUNY HUMANS!" Sometimes, he's like a kind yet retarded child. And sometimes, he's very inteligent and well spoken.

I see so many RPG threads where the people are just screwing around...but in this RPG and in the Marvel one...I see a geunine repsect for the characters that people are playing and that usually translates into respect for the other people as well.

Sorry, the thing is, that frankly I feel very disjointed.
The only way to communicate with the AGM's we (I) have now is through PM's which for me is very bulky and time consuming. Especially since I like to pass the application approvals past a GM besides me....*hint hint to the AGM's* ;)

Also, once the RPG actually get's rolling, very few GM's are needed.

Anyway..so far everyone who's posted an application is accepted.

The roster..I got lazy and I was going to wait till monday when I signed onto the RPG account.

Ok, what I've been saying through the past, from the beginning is this. The RPG should be alot like comic books. For example, Batman has his own multiple mysteries going on at once he has to find time to do all of them. Then he also needs to find time to do League stuff, which might fall in the middle or after one of his arcs. The Leaguers need to balance their jobs wisely, making the comics in reality terms, like time.

And the more people we have, the more like the comics it is...
