Hmm, if that's the case then I see some sneaky plotting by STAR labs involved. But this time hopefully Lex will leave him the F alone :(

If Lex Luthor leaves him the F alone, it won't be the same Conner. The Luthor side of his personality was still a part of his personality.
Here's something I thought of. Everybody knows that Nightwing was supposed to die, not Superboy. Remember "Titans of Tommorow"? Conner telling Robin that he made him(Conner) that way? I wonder what the original meaning of that statement was? A lot of people add that statement to Tim's attempted cloning experiment and get to the ToT Conner is the clone that Tim made. But at the time of ToT's writing, was Superboy's death in the cards?

Colossal Spoons

Of course he'll still have that part of Lex's personality. I just meant for Lex to stop contacting him and trying to take him over.

Good Question one that should be answered. Although I do wonder if Nightwings death would have had a bigger impact in the DCU then Conners??? I mean Dick was the first Robin, was friends with just about every superhero and everything so would his death have a bigger impact or not? Because so far Conner's has had little impact expect for Cassie.

Colossal Spoons

Robin's pretty shaken up about it too.

So much happened to the Titans, that Conner's death just kinda godd "added to the list"

Well, there's Robin, who's been obsessively trying to "re-clone" the boy of steel, there's that Cult of Conner, that made Ralph go loopy over a doll with his wife's face, the Titans have been disarray for a year...

Robin has given up on clone Conner and Cassie well she is sane again. If it was Dick who died I think Batman would still be feeling the effect of this as well as the outsiders as well as Superman and The Titans and JLA as well as JSA as well as Donna. I mean ***** death would have had a long lasting wider impact. Look at Superman he cares more about Boosters Death then Conners. The only people who really care about Conners death was Robin (thats untill he gets some wonder ass) Cassie and Lex. The impact it should have had isnt shown thats all.

I mean remember the first crisis Barry's death is still felt to this day. Supergirl's death until the reboot was still felt Conner's on the other hand isn't I mean I would have atleast expect the Flash to say something about it or deal with it but he hasn't.

Emerald Knight

Superman has never really shown that he cares much of what happens to Conner anyways...all Supes did was give him half his DNA, a home with the Kents and a superdog.

Well, after the first Crisis, we didn't see things jump ahead a year. A year is an ample amount of greiving time for the world. So the world's kinda moved on, I guess.

If Nightwing would have died, it would kicked the whole "light-hearted" Batman idea right in the nuts. I mean, damn. He adopted Dick, loved him like a son. Imagine how dark and driven he would be now. And not just Batman I think the whole DCU would have been more affected than with Conners.

I think the reason many people are that to shaken up about conners death, becasue he was just Conner. He spent 100 issues of his own comicbook doing nothing of any major importance, he was irresponsible and reckless for a long time. Superman cared about him, but he could only care so much for a clone that was created becasue he was "dead". Besides the new super-girl more then fills in for "super-boy". Superman just found his long lost cousin, not some plot device clone, but his actual blood cousin, he was just to busy makeing sure Kara is settlted in, that conner kind of got left out.

Very true, it seemed there was more character development in Teen Titans than there was in his own series.

The nineties sucked, but the new millenium made Superboy cool.

I just got the new issue of TT and i want to gouge my eyes out! This was horrible art. The story is moving so slow too. And ive kinda lost interest, anyone think this book should be bi-weekly? I just think it would be perfect book for that.

Why wouldnt I be allowed to? I voiced my opinion on a book that I have come to expect good story telling from. Is that wrong or are you ticked that im just messing with you in the JLA thread? In anycase I just think that the story is moving to slow and the art was fairly stinky. I also happen to enjoy seeing these characters together and feel that bi-weekly would be cool because I would love to see these characters more.

Well it was bad when you compare it to the other art that we have seen preceed it in this book. Liefield is the worst of the worst. This was just not a nice change. When you read a book that usually has consistenly decent artwork and it has a crap issue it bothers you sometimes.

The 2 issues liefield did were absolutely horrible like he always is. I speak of the other artists that have worked on this book and produced quality work. Art holds me to a story, if the pacing is off or the quality is bad then i see it as stinky.

Actually I thnk Liefield starting too look half decent, not great but better. Look at his cover for the ONslaught special from marvel it's actually bearable. My main problem with the art is the guy didn't know how to draw hair and Teen Titans has always had good art so it was a bit of a downfall that amlified the suckiness.

Just read the issue. I bet the "Secret" Raven was making Ms. Martian look for is well...Secret remmber the chick from YJ? Yeah whatever happen to her. I like Bombshell I hope they give her a cool origin and not just a Captain Atom rehash. I think a White Martian as a good guy is a cool concept but they'll probaly make her the traitor. Ravager would be cool as the traitor just because she was cooler as a bad guy.

Tropico

I could be wrong but there's slim to no chance that Bombshell's origin is different than Capt. Atom's. She's in the military, she mentioned the alien metal and she mentioned quantum field; that's practically the same as Capt. Atom. Heck, the only difference between Cap and Major Force is that they used more metal and a bigger tonnage for MF's explosion.

It was a bit cryptic but I think she was scanning for Raven because she might be the traitor and Raven's the only one who knows. And maybe she made Bombshell think Ravager was the traitor but that's only a theory and I really hope it's not true. :( I kinda digg a good white martian.

I was talking about this with a friend of mine yesterday and if you take into consideration Kid Devil's desperation for the Titans to stay together, his fake calls to BD and his visit to Azarath where he (presumably) turned into a real demon makes him a good candidate. For every 1 interesting teen hero, I read about 3 more than put me to sleep.

The only teen heroes that need to exist IMO are:

Speedy
Kid Devil
Captain Marvel Jr(yeah i'm reading ToS)
Bombshell
Robin

The premise behind the Teen Titans relaunch was that after the events seen in Graduation Day some of the older ex-Titans felt that the newer generation still needed training, guidance and a place where they could be with others like them. Apparently enough time has gone past that these young heroes' mentors have forgotten what happened on that day(s). I liked these new TT's then, much more so than what I do now. After the Titan massacre in IC I'm surprised the older heroes didn't ask for adult heroes to supervise the younger ones again. I've seen many posts here saying that they should do away with the older Titans, but I always liked this balance of young and old. Both could learn from each other.

I don't see how it could be Silver Age since there were characters that were clearly after that era and into modern stories. Steel was there but with a Batman motif, Lobo, Wally as Flash, etc. People read too much into artists' decisions to swipe design elements from KC. I think the only kid character of those you mentioned that was around then was Tim; the others didn't exist yet.

It's great that KC has that timeless feel for people to forget that this was done around 10 years ago; but they have to start keeping that into perspective when they start with these crazy conspiracy stories. I laughed myself silly when people started posting "Alex Ross teh suxxorz fer steeling teh Hawkman desing frm JSA, LOLZ!!!!1!111ONE". It was the other way around, LOL! Ross has a preference for Silver Age characters, but this was a commentary on the 90's heroes.

I think the traitor is Zatara - Mostly just because he lied to the Titans; Maybe thats why he tried to call them back, he was regretful and didn't do it of his own will.

Zatara's log to Vic suggested that he cared about a female.
52 suggested that he was into Raven and it was him that was bugging her for alone time not the other way around.
In TT: OYL he says that she was bothering him? No - I didn't get that from the small interaction we saw in 52 - 21. Sometimes it's the small things that add up and become important

No.

The original Martian form was that of the Burning Martian: utterly evil fiery beings of insane power. The Guardians were like, "oh, f*** that s***," and edited a fear of fire into their genetic codes.

As a result, the Martian form was "evolved" into what it is today (or at least, what it was until the Martian civilzation was wiped off the planet Mars thousands of years ago). From there, two types of Martians evolved, White and Green. Green were the peaceful, thoughtful half of the race, and the White were the war-loving, "we gonna f*** yo' **** up" half.

You might ask why the Guardians stepped in with the Burning Martians and not the White Martians. The answer is simple: the Burning Martians had no easily exploitable weakness, whereas the White Martians piss their pants at the sight of fire.

When J'onn started banging Scorch, he had her "therapize" his fire weakness out of his mind, in an attempt to make himself a better hero. However, what he did was inadvertantly undo the genetic block the Guardians installed and he reverted to his natural Burning Martian state.

It would appear that Miss Martian is a true White Martian.

Let me get this strait, the Guardians were afraid of Martians because they were flamers?

sethcohen

they didnt mind their sense of style though... who do you think picked out those fashionable robes?

Hellstormer

Hey, guess what? I knew that so you can get of you high horse.:p I was saying that I recall pages where MM was using his telepathy and he turned into is native pointy head green martian self instead of the constant humanoid appearence he usually has and since Miss Martian is younger and maybe less expierienced maybe she has even more trouble.

Do you think the traitor will be someone obvious like the "sidekick" of a bad guy like Joker's Daughter, Riddler's Daughter, Talon (i heard he was supposed to be Owlman's sidekick), and Osiris (dont know what he would want with it though).

I'm currently a subscriber to over 30 DC and Marvel comics, direct from the publishers. (including Teen Titans) I am having some very serious problems with DC, and was hoping some of you kind folks might be willing to give me some advice on how to come to some sort of solution. Let me give you some background first:

My friend Dave, who lives in another city across the State, got cancer a few years back. It left him paralyzed below the waist, and now he is back living with his parents. His elderly Dad takes care of him, as well as his Alzheimer's afflicted Mother. Needless to say, he can't get out of the house much. He used to have a lot of friends stop by who were active into comics and card gaming. Now not so much any more.

A couple of years back, I started sharing my old comics with him. I would mail off each month's worth of comics to him at the end of each month. It was a way of helping bring the world to him, since he can no longer walk, or drive out to it any more. Eventually, I just got him the subscriptions, and he sent them to me after reading them. Nowadays, we subscribe to quite a few more in his name, some 30+ titles. We go in half and half on the cost, and he sends about two months at a time to me after reading them.

We get them quite cheap, at less than half the cover price. This is from a combination of going through several online websites, and ordering through a friend who sells magazine subscriptions. The downside is that we can't get any refunds if we go through a middleman like that, if we decide we don't like a title. Our only recourse is to switch remaining issues to another title. Also, only certain titles are offered through magazine sales places, so if we want another one, we have to order several years of one of the offered titles, then switch it. (using DC customer service folks)

I've done this for the past year or more, and now we have up to 3 years on a number of the titles. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not doing this every day or anything. Once or twice a month, I contacted their email and asked for a change at first. Later, as we learned what artists and writers we liked, it was more like once a month. (out of 35 titles)

A couple of months back, I got a snail mail letter from DC, saying that Swamp Thing was being cancelled. The letter further said that I could contact them to let them know my choice of a replacement title. I misplaced the letter, and only recently found it again and contacted them about it to let them know what title I wanted to switch to. They refused to let me do so, saying (and I quote:)

>
>Dear David,
>
>We have been through this before.

I know that I will never get a refund, if one is truly issued. The wholesaler simply has a policy of never passing it along to the sales agent, so it can't get to the person who ordered in the first place. That was why I asked for it to be switched over to another sub, which was an option on the letter they sent to me. They started refusing to make ANY changes back around July. Marvel doesn't have any problem with me making changes on their end, but evidently DC has some sort of "magic number" of changes that if you exceed, they stomp their foot down. They won't tell me what the limit is, or how long it will be until I can combine any titles. From the sound of it, they will let me place new orders, but not switch anything.

So, here are my problems:

1) Basically, where can I find the written guidelines for DC customer service? I have the feeling I'm being screwed around with here. They have a single customer service rep doing all the email support, and I have the feeling she just doesn't like me, and that's the only reason she won't make the changes. I want verification that what she is saying is their official policy, and not just her wanting to do less work.

2) From the written policy, I'd like to find out what the yearly limit on changes is, and how long everything is "locked" once that threshold is exceeded

3) Even if they want to limit changes that I might request, shouldn't they still be bound to let me switch a cancelled title if they offer to let me do so in writing? I mean, if THEY are the ones who contact ME about a change, I don't really understand how they can view that as ME instigating a change, and then say they are going to deny me. Seriously, if they are going to be like that and enforce it, then they shouldn't send out the invitation to me in the first place.

4) If this "lock" on me making any changes is official and correct, then I was wondering if that would include me giving away any of the subscriptions, or receiving new subs from others. Because, of course, there are a number of forums online where people trade comic subs around.

No, I'm not switching to a mail order service, because I don't want to pay twice as much for my comics. Comic shops are out of the question, because my friend needs them delivered directly to his door.

If anyone out there has any suggestions that might help me resolve this, please email me at fuzzhead72@yahoo.com with "DC Comics problem" as the subject heading. I am going to look over the emails I get and pick the most helpful to receive a free comic subscription as thanks for your help.

The character has potential, but his costume really sucks ass. Even within Teen Titan standards.
