Ok I just downloaded the program and it ripped a dvd then it said you have to use a burn program. So I use Nero and ripped the file into a dvd-r but it can only play in my cpu not my ps2 or dvd player? Is there another burn program that I can use instead of Nero?

Im trying to copy a dvd into a dvd-R. I already rip the dvd from dvd shrink. It said I have to use a burn program so I used Nero but when I burned the rip dvd it can only play in my Computer. It says disc error in my ps2 and dvd player:(

I think DVDs from DVD shrink can only be played on computers, because neither of my DVD players load the disc.
Any one else know aonther way of making self-copies of DVDs that can be played on DVD players?

Why don't you just use the backup feature on DVD shrink, instead of faffing around with another program like Nero?

What are you trying to do?

Hey Malice, do you know how to compress a DVD(s) so you can fit two or three onto a single DVD? I am almost there but I am missing one or two steps or I just can't figure them out. I have all the software. DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink and even VIrtual Dameon Manageer to create a ghost drive to store one of the compressed dvds.

You said the same thing last time in the other thread that I created and I gave you the same response. Wiccan is capable of doing it. But he hasn't been on so I haven't been able to ask him how he does it.

Okay. Listen up.

This has NOTHING to do with DVD Shrink, or your computer. It's the DVDs themselves.

If you use a ****ty DVD player, and cheap DVD-Rs, then you are going to have a ton of problems.

Memorex, TDK, and Fuji are the best brands in blank media, and if you buy some off brand, you're not going to get a decent burn, and if you do, the disk will probably fail before too long.

Also, if you're using a PS2, you NEED to be using one of those three disk brands, because you can't let the PS2 know you're using a burned disk, or it won't play.

I recommend using Ritek media.

The Philips DVP-642.

- Plays DivX video
- With a simple and LEGAL remote code, you can make the player DVD REGION FREE.
- Has a BUILT-IN PAL to NTSC CONVERTER.

One problem, Phillips dvds have been known to crap out and not play random dvds for some odd reason.

Platinum are the best dvd's there are, I never had any problems with them.
They play anywhere anytime!

Anyway, did you burn the dvd in the dvd "video" format, or did you just drag and drop the files in it and clicked burn?

Dvd Shrink will compress your 9 Gb dvd, into 4,6 GB. It'll create Vob, Ifo and Bup files. these'll play in every dvd player. And in my experience the cheaper the player the more brands of dvd's it takes.

This is what I use and I have yet to have any problems.

I rip the dvd using dvd decrypter. I write it in ISO form to the hard drive. I then burn it using dvd decrypter at 4x speed, using wither TDK or Memorex dvd-r's. If the dvd data is to big for a regular size dvd and I don't want to waste a dual layer dvd, I then use shrink. I've used it once so far because I've been lucky enough to find stuff that fits on single layer dvd.

Using DVD decrypter, what the hell am I doing wrong?

It says that the source for the file can not be found when I try to shrink it after I have created an ISO file with Decrypter. If I try to use shrink first, it can't even read the dvd.

Help

Here is the best way to backup DVD's using free software.

Download DVDFabDecrypter (DVD Decrypter is no longer updated)
Download Vobblanker
Download DVD Shrink or use Nero Recode if you have it.

Rip the DVD to your HD with Fab
Create a folder on your desktop name it something you'll remember.
Open the ripped DVD into Vobblanker, make the folder you created as the output folder.
Vobblanker should take like 10 minutes.
Then just open your folder in Shrink and burn.
It workd 99% of the time.

Tell me more about that?

Ummmm, they are the best thing ever for DVD/CD scratches. I mean EVER. I bought one when they first came out years ago (something like 4-5) and it was a manual CD Dr. The thing was/is amazing. It was $20 or so when I got it but let me tell you it is by far one of the best investments ever. I honestly would have to say that out of everything I have ever bought in my life. For what the specific item was/is meant to do. I would say it is one of if not the most satisfying purchase.

They are of course have been updated and changed but are phenomenal. I had cds that were so scratched they wouldn't even play. After using the Skip DR. on it BAM! Worked just fine. Of course there is a point of no return, it can not fix all scratches on CDs or DVDs, but I would say 90% or more of the scratches you have or find in discs are no trouble.

They have several types, manual and motorized. I have not used the motorized one or know if it is more efficient than the manual or if it is simply automated. But I would highly reccommend investing in one

I give it a 10 out of 10. 5 stars out of 5. 10
