not going to lie...watching them preform, the only person i can see doing it on a real stage or see in some sort of muysic video..is paris. all the guys are just too old looking...katherine comes in second and would win cept paris has a much better stage presence and comes off more likable. i dont want to my igol complementing their own looks at the mic. it comes off as arrogant and i think thats bad. id much rather see some young humble 17 year old raw talent get famous and flourish before our eyes then i wuld see some blonde who is a look and sound a like for about 1000 other female artists out their right now, plus is can come off as arrogant, win the prize and just act like she deserved it the whole time.

This one was more than normal. Every Idol had 2 minute long videos from their home. Also, 3 people sang today, which is 2 more than normal. Factor in the normal half hour they take of dragging out the vote, and commercials, and you've got an hour long voting off Idol.

Most folks just couldn't relate to Bucky. But he is able to sing and maybe he'll be offered a small deal to get of NC.

Insults are just opinions. As for taste in music, yes people do have different tastes and judging from the crap that is popular today the majority has HORRIBLE taste or at least the recording companies do.

As for Katharine's performance, they didn't overrate it. It was really the best. Paris will probably be that good when she is Katharine's age (5 years more can do that easily), but as of now she just isn't. I don't know who you think was the best the other night, but I definitely put Katharine at the top and Taylor right behind.

I was referring to the fact that she has stayed around long enough after winning American Idol to not be considered a fizzle. Carrie Underwood doesn't reach as wide an audience because many people have a serious distaste for country music, however there are a large number of people who are into it. Not to knock her talent, because I think she is a good singer and all, but country music is less competitive than pop music because of the fact that pop is so static and country music tends to center around the established singers/groups and the newer ones. I have no doubt that Carrie will be fine and all, but it is harder to stay afloat in the mainstream pop kind of music (Which I hate by the way, lol.)

Clay Aiken's only success has really come from the christian music, more power to him, but that really isn't a competitive genre. As for Fantasia, she is overrated and I can see why nobody paid attention to that year of Idol, considering that she won it must have been a ****ty season. Ruben was my favorite one in season 2 and I wanted him to win, but I expected more from him than little bull**** songs. I expected something good. His album sales only reflect the fact that his Idol fans are just supporting him no matter what, hey good for him.

How does Carrie Underwood's debut album beating Kelly Clarkson's debut album prove my theory wrong? Kelly had a very slow start, and her last two albums have sold far better now that she's singing music that she wants to sing, not the crud that American Idol told her to sing.

As for the previous winners, Clay and Kelly have the largest audience to promote to, the pop audience. Ruben has released generally to an R&B/Gospel crowd, Fantasia to an R&B/Hip Hop crowd and Carrie Underwood to a Country crowd. Bo Bice just released his album, and it might do ok....but it's too early to tell.

Also, please look beyond sales to how many hit songs they've had...Carrie Underwood has only had 1 top 10 hit, that is "Jesus Take the Wheel". The success of Idol artists is spotty that's for sure. The only one who has broken out into superstardom is Clarkson because she actually had a mind to break out of the Idol system and do the music she wanted to do. Obviously, in a year's time we'll begin to see the long term fates of CU and FB, but the Season 2 guys have fizzled out.

What this proves (if Clarkson remains the only one to breakout into true IDOL status), is that no matter how much talent these Idol winners have and how much money they get poured into their first albums, a great recording artist also understands how to work the music business system. Clarkson is a great recording artist. The others...well, I just don't know.

Kelly Clarkson only has two cds, her debut (right after Idol) and the new one. Both were hits and went multi-platinum.

Kelly didn't have a slow start, if anything -- she had a greater start than Ruben, Fantasia, etc. because she was the first American Idol which kept the interest in many. I'm pretty sure she was a hit ever since her debut single came out.

Chris was fantatic, but Eliot had to be my favorite of the night. Katherine was solid, although her performance was kind of all over the place. But it was still strong. Paris was probably at her best, while Kellie ( :down :down :down ) and Taylor ( :( ) were off. Taylor is in jeopardy, but I expect Kellie to FINALLY go.

Catherine - Amazing performance. It takes a hell of a singer to make me enjoy ANOTHER person singing a Whitney Houston song, and Catherine pulled it off. The judges are f**king idiots (not that THAT'S any big news). And damn, did she look beautiful.

Elliot - Not as bad as usual, but halfway through, his performance totally went south.

Kellie - I've always hated the song "Unchained Melody," and congratulations Pickler, you made it even worse.

Paris - Very weird performance. It was like she tried to make up for the lack of emotion in her voice by trying to physically act out the song. Also, if the judges wanted to trash Catherine for "not being as good of a singer as Whitney Houston," why didn't they get on Paris's case for attempting to take on Barbara Streisand and not even coming close.

Chris - Great song, great performance. His voice has a vibratto that occasionally makes his performances shaky, but last night, that wasn't evident at all. He was very solid.
