I think Taylor needs it more honestly. He's strictly a music man, while Kat is lookin more toward Broadway. AI winner would be better for Taylor's career than it would for Kat's, because she's already shown she is frickin amazing. Besides, Taylor is a really good performer too, and the fact that Kat's into acting in such kinda throws her off how to perform on stage without a script or direction.

I've said it before and I will say it again. Elliot, who sounds the same every night (boring), and Taylor, crazy every night (lol), have been consistently mediocre with a few bright spots. Then they have had extra ****ty performances too. Kat, on the other hand, has had some real **** ones too, but has had great nights that have outweighed the bad.

The fact is that Taylor is the most fun to watch and Elliot is the most boring. Elliot should go tonight, if not it's just crazy.

A lot of people keep saying that Taylor is more popular than Katherine as evidenced by the turnout at his homecoming. That is terribly misleading and a bit unfair. Katherine is from L.A., a city that hosts the Oscars and a thousand other celebrity events. There's no way she could get people who are accustomed to seeing Halle Berry, Jennifer Aniston, and Reese Witherspoon walking down the streets were going to turn out the way they did for the other contestants.
Now if you wanted to argue that Taylor is more popular as evidenced by the fact that he has still never been in the bottom (Although we don't know about this week), I think that might be more fair. Even with that said - I have to admit that I've been coming down with McPheever and "Over The Rainbow" really increased my symptoms. I like them both though.

yeah i was crushed when Chris got the boot :(. of my original 4 favorites, only Chris and Kat made it to the top 5. now Kat's all thats left.

Yea I thought they were pretty even until the third song. The fact is, they sing 2 different styles of music and then the 3rd song tried to turn them into little cardboard cut-out pop stars which went horribly wrong.

As for Chris being in the finals, I would definitely have to say no way. The only reason he went so far is because people listen to "rock" today that blows hard and he was the "rocker" of the group. Fuel is trying to capitalize on free publicity by trying to make him the new singer.

Gamma, you have just proven to be an idiot. They both sang songs that they did great on during the season. That's like saying....well is now taylor gonna sing that one song....DURRRRR.

As far as my personal liking or disliking of the two, I honestly feel that Kat is just a tad bit too "pop star cookie cutter" for me. She's cute, she can sing, so what?

Taylor is one of those singers who can bring something different to the table. Now, that doesn't mean he's ":eek:!" unbelievable, but he's a great entertainer and a guy who has the potential to make some great albums. He knows his music, and that always helps. ;)

Carrie Underwood's song "Jesus Take The Wheel" wasn't that bad plus she scored a #1 with it on the country charts. I wonder who the supposed professional songwriters were who wrote Kat & Taylor's songs? I agree that Kat does try too hard a lot of times, and she is much better when she is relaxed. I was hoping that she would play up her fun, flirtateous, sexy side to counter Taylor's energetic antics. She tried that with the first song, but I think she was nervous or something. Plus, the song did nothing for me. I would've rather seen her do Aretha Franklin again.

I like Taylor better, and I still think he will win tonight. However, Kat does have talent, a great look, but she's not using all that she has. She was way too buttoned down last night, and taking the safe route. The first two songs felt like I was watching a Kat McPhee's greatest hits, and she ain't even dropped the first album yet.

Taylor definitely came on strong with "Livin' for the City", but he also toned it too far down with the sedate Elton John song. What got Taylor this far was his amped up performances.

I really wish they had let the contestants pick the third songs instead of pushing those singles on them. They could've saved those for tonight, after the decision had been made already. If anything, the third songs hurt both of them...though I think it hurt Kat more.

Yea and while they do that, they need to teach Ryan to not make stupid comments/jokes. He thinks he's such a celebrity, when the fact is, he's just a hack who "hosts" American Idol because Simon doesn't feel like talking, although I am sure he'd like the extra attention.

I say keep Simon, keep Randy (but teach him another word besides "Dog" and "Pitchy"), give Ryan another season, but definitely get rid of Paula. She has done nothing for the show but act retarded and kiss everyone's ass.

Oh well, I'm a diehard Kat fan, but if she has to lose to someone, I don't mind it being Taylor, as he was my second choice since way back in the top 24, lol.

Taylor was my favorite since his audition. I was always pulling for him. When I saw his performance my only thoughts were that Ray Charles was reincarnated with this white guy. Simlar soulful voice, same movements, and at that, he's a guitarist and song writer. So all this hate kind of makes me wonder if people like Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, Hank Williams, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison, or anyone from that mold would make it in American Idol.

What do ya'll think about a change in the show's personel? I think it would be good to get rid of Ryan, Randy and Paula. Keep Simon, but add two new judges and a new host.

As long as they got rid of Paula, I'd be happy. I can take or leave Randy and Ryan. They should just announce that they're going to let America vote off one judge at the end of each season. It would be bye bye Paula. My suggestions for a replacement would include Olivia Newton John or Tina Turner.
