Halo-Alien Corridors

What are your's?

MOST OF THE 'SILENT HILL' GAMES
MANY OF THE LEVELS IN 'THIEF: DEADLY SHADOWS', PARTICULARLY 'THE SHALE BRIDGE CRADLE'
'CONDEMNED'.......PRETTY MUCH ALL OF IT, AFTER THE FIRST COUPLE LEVELS
'THE SUFFERING'

THE MUSIC TYPICALLY ISN'T WHAT CREEPS ME OUT ABOUT SUCH GAMES. USUALLY, IT'S THE AMBIENT NOISES AND THE LIGHTING WHICH SET THE OVERALL MOOD.

Metal Gear Solid 2.
I can't remember which part, but it was when Raiden breaks for of the lab table area and runs around naked. Not only is that freaky, but then your codec starts going funny and your boss starts saying spooky stuff to you.

I was playing that part at 2am one morning and i had to turn it off. Mainly because the boss in the game told me too. "Turn off the game Raiden." he said something like that.

And it continued like that spooky stuff for about 10 minutes.

For me I though Doom 3 was pretty scary in the first bit where you walk around and talk to people and then I talk to this professor and the whole place is shaking. I turn around and suddenly I get slashed by zombies. :( I was only 12. But still  It was flipping amazing.

Haven't played Condemned yet, but I saw some parts of the game when I occassionally dropped in while my little bro was playing. There was one part of the game where he looks around and then all of a sudden sees that he is completely surrounded by mannequins on all sides. Amplify that effect with the fact that the levels are extremely dark and spooky which sometimes tend to throw you off balance by making those mannequins seem like real (for a split-second at least). Makes you feel as if you're trapped to death.

I was all like "Holy **** " when I saw that and I wasn't even playing the game. What shook me even more was that my brother goes totally berserk and paranoid, running amok knocking off every single one of them mannequins. Can't wait until I clear up some time to play the game next weekend. The shock factor appears to be off the charts.

Condemed-The first level freaked me out so much that I played the game during the day instead of at night the first few times.

Resident Evil(Gamecube remake)-Most of the levels were spooky as heck and had some of the most creepiest music I've ever heard in a game.

Silent Hill 2-All apartment levels.

The Suffering didn't really creep me out since you have the power to become one of the freakiest characters in the game yourself. If you're just as eerie as your enemies, you can't be too scared.

Resident Evil 3- When Nemesis crashes through the window and has a rocket launcher in handy. Needless to say I ran my happy ass out of the RPD.

Resident Evil 4- Ashley in a dark room armed with a flashlight and seeing the Knights standing there made my heart beat fast. Another creepy level is fighting the Novistadors, as they're invisible to the eye, which makes them very hard to spot in the sewer level and you don't know where they're at until they're on you.

The first two Silent Hill games creep me out and anything that involves Pyramid Head is just disturbing. Of course the radio screeching just makes it more tense and unexpecting.

How come MGS2 scared everyone? Nothing in that game was remotely scary at all. And people fell for those codec pranks?

Has anyone played Friday the 13th on NES? That game was the first game that scared the living daylights out of me, believe it or not it scared me so bad that I gave it to my cousin. Now if you got to play as Jason that would've been awesome.

I think it was the time I heard the "codec pranks" was what really got me. Imagine playing a game all day (9hours) and then at 2am, the codec goes off and your boss tells you to stop playing. On top of this, your character is naked and..........it's just freaky.

I can definitely see now if someone has been playing it for a long time and then hearing that would scare you.

As for me the creepiest levels are:

1. Resident Evil 4- The sewer level where the Novistadors are waiting and hearing their feet run across the water sent chills down my spine.

The Regenerators of RE4 is another messed up addition. Their breathing, walking, and even if you shoot their legs off they slither very disgustingly on the ground. ::shudders::

2. Silent Hill- Pyramid Head. Enough said. :(

3. Final Fantasy VII- After Sephiroth takes the Jenova specimen from the Shinra building and nothing but blood and dead bodies are all that remains, add to that the creepy music that was involved, and you have a very uncomfortable gamer.

The only videogame that ever creeped me out was "Addam's Family: Fester's Quest" on the NES. Outside, it was a fairly simple run around and shoot aliens game.

When you got indoors, however, it switched to first person, and all you got were the ambient sounds of the alien boss monster screeching at you from a distance and that was how you had to find the boss. To a seven year old kid in the late eighties, that was some scaaaaaaary ****.

I HATE it when the Colonel turns into a clown... freaks me out.

Also any long dark corridor in Resi 1 and the part the Resi 4 where its silent that the zombie bursts out of the flame container and tries to kill you... scariest part.

Also the dog-zombie maze. and the regeneator guys like LastSunrise said

Not to sound like a pussy lol, but ah when I first played the suffering and in the beginning when that crazy creature thing runs across your cell and clanks its claws against it creating sparks and he laughs because Torque sort of jumps back a little. This seriously made me soil my jockies, I had to put down the game controller and have a debate with myself for like half an hour saying "I can do this." lol. How pathetic is that? Though I have to say I was playing it in the dark at like 2:00 in the am.

I didn't find The Suffering scary at all. It was just a really awesome action adventure to me.

Actually, I did jump ONCE in the swamp when that picture of the butterfly flashes and the music goes "FWAH!!!", but that's because I usually jump at sudden, unexpected noises.

The scariest thing is still the Shalebridge Cradel, though I have not played Condemned.

Jeez, I forgot the name of it, but it was a dreamcast game, and the point of the game was to get thru this haunted them park without getting too scared, because your character had a scared meter. I remember at the very beggining, you walked up to the them park and it looked like a grave yard, and the music was like, this guy making creepy circus music with his mouth, and there was this huge coffin staning upright, and it had a huge eyeball on it and that's where I turned the game off.

Well, I don't find the actual music scary or horrific. It's just that the music is effective because them levels always put me on edge because of some of the really annoying obstacles in the way (mainly the castles) so the music doesn't help at all.
