The text is colliding with the characters in certain shots, and while that might be fine in some instances, it isn't in any of these. I might go with a different font, too. Not something too different--another sans-serif font, to be sure, but not a novelty typeface.

Yeah, these posters are very, very nice. Especially Phoenix. She looks beyond regal -- the loneliness of Logan's photo says alot to.

The only thing I'm not digging is the tagline:

"Take a stand."

Perhaps the most unoriginal tagline in history right there folks.

I think it is just to show foreground, not that he is actually that big in the movie. It shows distance, and also if they were as big as he is, we would draw focus away from him.

The angel one is amazing, just the colors they used. For me, its actually more impressive flight that what has been shown in superman so far. He looks noble in it, which is perfect for the character.

The beast one is ok, nothing really to write home about.

Pheonix is awsome as well, love the costume.

Storm, whatever, still cool, but you know, what ever.

Yes. This is very obvious. They don't neccessarily have class to theme -- except the ANgel and Phoenix one. But they show Ratner's leaning towards modern pop culture, something I was hoping he'd escape.

As a design, they rock. There is no doubt about that. Whether they fit for X3 or not will have to be seen. I mean, its interesting and I'm not saying in the slightest that I don't like them.

But they aren't horibly orrigianl - yet signs rarely are. But that damn tagline just needs to go -- that is Enc1101 scripting right there.

Angel - looks cool. it looks like he is just getting ready to spread his wings

Phoenix- Awesome shot..looks like the final battle in the backgrond

Wolverine- Him standing next to a barrel of the cure...interesting

Storm- Looks hot..looks like she is in the Danger Room

Beast - great shot..I`m not sure i like all the red reflecting on him

So, going by Bryan Singer's handling of these things. The posters reflected quite accurately the tone and color scheme of the movie, just enhanced a bit. So then, are we seeing this now? Not that the movie'll be this -- vibrant -- but that it'll have this feel to it. Because if so, I kind of like it.

Except for the tagline. I hate it.

Well though I love them, I will point a few things that I like and wonder about.

Rogue - breaking out, from being tossed against a car.
(means she has her Super-strength, maybe?)

Phoenix - LOVE It, and can't say anything wrong w/ it.

Angel - DIDO, Love it

Beast - Gives us the idea that human will have a great hand in the battle,
(with all the riot gear and might be a hint at his acrobatic abililty.)

Wolverine - Could have used a stoogie in the shot, but still can't say bad
things.

Storm - the worst, because it's just like Wolverine's, besides the fog.
They couldn't have thought of a better location possible flying
among the clouds?

Actually Storm is inherently a warrior and leader. "Motherly" is not her defining attribute. She's a "Goddess". I think the pose works because she's always been smirking and "happy-like" in the other past movie posters. They tried to sell her on sex appeal alone...and we need something different.

This is different. It's not my favorite poster of the bunch (Phoenix) but it works for the new image.

I know I'm going to get flamed. These posters are terriable for the movie. They aren't bad posters, well actually they are quite good, but not for an xmen movie in my opinion. But I do believe these latest ones are evolving the whole look of the franchise to the next level. These look more polished and serious. And what's more, the actors are actually IN CHARACTER on these posters. Famke *looks* like Phoenix rising. Halle *looks* like a bad-ass leader.

Everything contributes to a good design, not just pretty pictures.

Great pictures and colours, but I agree the font stood out to me. There is just something not that great about the text. I don't mind them being in the same spot on each poster. It makes them consistent, but the alignment is uncomfortable to my eye.

I'll still take a few of those though. Rogue looks HOT.

I hope they release ones of Iceman, Colossus, Cyclops, Kitty and some of the bad guys.

I swear this is the first time I've looked at these movie posters and not thought "Oh, that's Hugh Jackman playing Wolverine", or "That's Halle with a wig on".

They look like the X-Men! :eek: These actors have really embodied their characters and the styling of these one sheets looks like it was lifted from the comics. I can't get over the direction they're taking this thing.

I agree with ya LS!! These chracter posters go beyond average "superhero flick" marketing posters. They have a more epic feel to them, with Wolverine and Beast in particular the sense of doom and anxiety is palpable! I really think they're putting the characters first and not the powers, as they kinda did with the X2 character posters. I'm loving the way the marketing is heading!

Well, these are just the promos for Wonder Con. They usually have other one-sheets for the characters, so this won't be the last promo one for Storm.

I agree they could have done more to inject some flair to it, but it's the polar opposite of Jean's (the other uber powerful X-Woman). Notice:

Jean is rising.

Storm is grounded.

See the contrast? I think they chose to focus less on her powerful abilities (the films have shown us what she's capable of) and more on her new attitude. The expression on her face says "I will kick your ass." That's a far cry from the "I'm A Softer Storm" posters of X1 and X2.
