lol Thanks everyone, but, I am a guy. Vartha is old norse for Guardian Angel, the norse spelling is "vorthr" with those dots above the "o" and the final "r", Vartha is the closest english spelling. He's actually a character I created in 1977, but, never got around to finishing the story.
You'd love the character, I even had the name put on my plates in Illinois. lol

The idea is Thor returns with a portion of the rune power, and when he uses the rune power, the wings on his helmet rise to the normal possition.

I like on this one how the hard outline isn't always black... I've never really thought to do that, but I think after the current pic im working on I'm gonna play around with that idea.
very cool pic around! I love all the metal... very cool.

Well keep in mind what type of metal your color when coloring. Some metals do give off a black like hardline.

Here's the Ink on Thor, now I THINK I may put a bolt of Lightning in the back ground. I haven't done one of Thor with a bolt of lightning.
A few years ago I saw some tv show on lightning, and a bolt had hit the desert fusing the sand together showing the actual FORM of the bolt, it was very cool looking, I've wanted to draw something like it ever since.

Vartha
05-30-2007, 04:56 PM
Well yes Thor is SUPPOSED to be the film Marvel uses to get into Fantasy Films. It's been said in a couple places.
In a way I hope they get whoever designed the Hercules Legendary Journeys Asgard episodes. The look was incredilbe and with a bigger budget I bet that same guy could do better.

I believe this is my first post on this site.
I just wanted to know if you could paint this picture for me Vartha?

I'm flattered Pblimp! At the moment tho, That Odin painting is still in the same spot, I haven't touched it in a while. I'd like to actually use marker and color pencil on yours, but I'm out of Ink on my printer to print out your pic.
I could try after I'm done with the Thor drawing, using the computor tho, got any color examples? PM them to me.
By the way, I grew up in Lake County ILL. :D

PB sorry I don't have Photoshop, I have Photosuiet (10 years old), Arc soft Photo studio for a friends Camera, A kodak photo editor, and my scanner's editor.
I do know there are SEVERAL folks here that do have Photo shop, I would love to have it my self actually. Just post a thread in the Art section You'll get tons of responces, I know for a fact half these talented people use photoshop.. :D

Vartha

Well the Photo suiet program is like a hopped up Windows Paint program, VERY user friendly.
The Arc Soft program is more like Photoshop, and I'm still learning how to use it.
Take your time PB, I've been old school drawing and coloring for YEARS, I have knowledge of how colors work. It does take time to learn.

First off the art is excellent and I would only make a comment on the content given my bias.
I don't quite agree with the outcome because Hulk also gets faster as he gets angrier and the fight has Tor evading the Hulk like Spider-Man which Thor hardly ever does. I am not saying the Hulk should win just that any batle between the two should be relatively even given their respective power levels per Marvel.

I'm glad you said that, Vartha. I too have a very soft spot for the Hulk since childhood and I was really concerned that this little skirmish was going to be a trifle one-sided when I first started looking at your panels.

Asgard update. Finished the front for the most part. There are 6 stuctures off the front that look like row boats upturned on their back that were a pain in the arse. the bottom ridge doesn't go straight, it TWISTS from one side to the other.
Also started on the back and the fountain/water falls in back are coming along great

I would love to be able to create a Virtual world like War craft to hang out in. I just don't have the right hardware for that.

Very good artwork! Do you use art markers?
Vartha

Yeah they're an Alcohol marker. They blend like water color paint. SOME of my makers are from the late 70's lol and back THEN they were 3.95 a MARKER!

Since I can't do all of Asgard at once, I started doing the different building starting with Heimdal's Observitory
