Created to be serious, Superman and Batman comics in the 50's and 60's, as you can see from those covers, were embarrassingly ridiculous from all the censorship and gimmicks. The Adventures of Jerry Lewis was created to be silly.

Leme guess, this guy tried to make a costume that was a combination of the one seen on Dean Cain in "Lois & Clark" when he returned from a visit with Kryptonians, and then added the alien symbols seen in Smallville. Overall it looks bad, but I will say adding the alien symbols to the belt could be a nice touch to the costume once they do it in Smallville, maybe ingraved onto it or something. But this costume............no.

I only read the first 3 pages of this thread, but I wanted to give you guys a BIT of history on Cap'n Strong. :)

He appeared in two comics before The Crisis, and his story is that he discovered an undersea weed called "Sauncha" that would give those who ate it super-strength, but rob them of their sanity temporarily. The second story introduced his fiance, Olivia, and a space alien ("Bluto/Brutus") who had taken the shape of a caveman.

Strong was able to do many of the things Popeye did. One of the funniest bits in the story was when he swam through the air, as Popeye did many times in the cartoons. :)
