Just a note... This is the first set of screen shots from the game (or the code for the game).

The ones we got a few months back were from an independent code built up for display to the media and its the code that got TIBURON the job to make the game.

Its good to see that the characters have a much higher build quality along with a higher build quality in the buildings.

I usually don't subscribe to the "don't get your hopes up" mentality. This is definitely a case where I am trying not to get my hopes too high. Let's face it, Superman has had some awful video games in the past. I still shudder when I think about Superman on the N64.

However when I read stuff like this its really hard not to get my hopes up. This is from an article on Blue Tights. Its pretty much describing how I would want a Superman game to be. I think its appropriate for this forum because it really gets me thinking about the kind of stuff they can do in the film.

Yes it is! Hopefully we'll get to see those photos. It would be a nice touch if at the end of the level , you see a Daily Planet paper with the headline stating your 'victory', and you get to pick the photo of yourself that appears on the cover. It would be cool if you could somehow post them on the internet too, so people can compare their superhero pics!

So do I, and the cool thing about it is when you think about what is happening in the scene it looks like the missle is going so fast it's Superman trying to match its speed and trying to stop it from hitting its target. That's awesome.

The older PS2's arent really that much anymore, ther're like 100 dollars, but you'd have more luck with the game if you buy a slim PS2 which is like 150.

Thats awesome stuff!!! I hope the game has those requests. Especially the music, costume changing, and unlockable bad guys. Anyone else notice that all the Superman Returns collectibles and toys that are coming out all sport the bright bright colors, except for the movie. I dont understand that at all.

Its almost a carbon copy of Splinter Cell. I has the Dark Knight suit and a blue and grey suit as well. I played the whole game, i enjoyed it quite alot. Im not much of a gamer so i wouldnt be able to tell you compared to the other Batman games. Best suggestion is rent it for a day or two and give it a try. Its good fun!

EDIT: you need to finish the game once to unlock all the suits and you need to change it from easy to medium i think to be able to use them. In case your wondering, the Batmobile chase is good fun, its very Burnout-ish.

Well the Batman Begins game wasn't all that much of a let down, I really liked it, took me a while to buy it, but I got it and beat 4 times. I imagine that Superman Returns will end up like Batman Begins, which isn't bad at all.

Each person's opinion on a game is different. I like the fact that you have to be stealth to confront your enemy. It's just like how everybody's view on movies is different. Plus I will be getting from Ebay for like 10 bucks including the shipping.

Well, I can garuntee the particle effects (smoke) will be almost identicle in the game... The next gen consoles have some serious skills when it comes to doing smoke effects.

Screw that : PC is and always will be the true videogame platform. This is evident in the the fact the consoles have drifted closer and closer to the PC functionality and structure. However, since consoles are much more user-friendly, they will dominate the popularity aspect.

I would, but My Xbox is broken. I can turn it on, but nothing happens...

Biggest problem with Xbox IMO was microsoft's inexperience in the field. They usually do software mostly i think this was the first time they got into the hardware market. To explode7, no offense but the BB game comment was the dumbest thing i've heard, "sales" does not always equal fun/quality.

PS: main reason why i would suggest Xbox has nothing to do with me having one or favorism, it has everything to do with taking the "newest" of the older consoles, the one that will perform the better graphics, specialy if you want it to at least remotely resemble the X360 counterpart (SR game). But then again it also depends on what games you play, some are only Ps2 exclusives.

One of the reasons I stuck with Playstation when the sequel came out was the controllers. I love the Playstation controllers and didn't grasp on to the XBox style controllers.

HAH HAH! The video game box office? Well yes it did "bomb" I guess. But it sort of deserved it. It really wasn't too good according to most critics....That specially kept me from buying it. I've yet to try it and see if it's worth my while.

Seems like you don't like it. I have an original console that I bought right around the date it came out. Never had a problem with it. Tried out X-Box, and didn't like the controllers. It is a matter of opinion but the sales over XBox and Nintendo Game Cube doesn't reflect that opinion.

Well you can't compare the PS2 with the XBOX 360. That's like comparing Superman with Daredevil, two different worlds. I thought we are talking XBOX vs 360, the PS3 is better on paper but I am not sure how it will fair. Time will tell.

I got ya. I didn't think the marginal increase in pixel quality and processing was worth trading in the familiarity and game selection of PS2 at the beginning.

That being said, I still haven't figured out if I am going to get the 360 or wait for PS3.

Good question, I've wondered that myself. I have like 3 ideas on what if could be.

1 Mettalo's health bar of some sort

2. A map of the city ( although it doesn't really look like one)

3. The little projection guy inside the big Mettalo.
