Well, Lucien has been by far the most interesting character in these movies so far IMO. A prequel based around him, maybe recruitng/freeing the lycans to fight the war, would be interesting.

Yes, it has been comfirmed that there doing a prequel, that will revolve around Lucian, that comes straight from Len Wiseman's mouth.

Plus Kate confirmed she want play in the film either. (Not much atleast.)

Why not make a third one about Selene maybe having children or using her new "gifts" with Michael to end the war or something....the second didn't exactly end on a "conclusion" note.

I can tell you honestly no one really wants to see a sequel, especially without Selene (or I should say Kate Beckinsale in tight leather). Yeah Lucien and Viktor are the best characters probably in the movies (much better than Marcus and William IMO) but they are dead and no need to overuse them now.

I heard it was done in flashback form, mainly just flashbacks though, but I beleive we see her give birth at some point in the film!

I think Len overestimates the popularity of his franchise. The main selling point is Kate Beckinsale in tight leather. The first one was a pretty darn good piece of science fiction/fantasy/awesome B-actioner. But the sequel while actually making Selene and Michael much more engaging and interesting characters, surrounded by bigger action, had almost no plot and seemed kind of mindless at times.

Both did well but neither were big hits, so why make a prequel when he left the main story so open for a third (and hopefully final) installment? A prequel is going to bomb I bet. And yes the sex scene in the second eluded to Selene being impregnated as it was focused on her stomach and just not to show how perfect it was though. ;)

How many films do you see where people have sex sceans......mostly every film has one and how many do you see get out protection to use....not a lot, i can't think of one, so just becuse they don't show any protection being used does not mean shes pregent and they focused on her stomach maybe Kate didn't want to show off her other body parts as its to private for her.

they might have use protection, as the vamps in Underworld are different to other vampires films and books, for starters they can see themself in mirrors and have reflections unlike most, the holy cross thing doesn't work and garlic either, so there different vamps to others. But like i said earyer most films you see with a sex scean you don't see anyone using protection but they never get pregent or no one questions it, so why question it in this film?
And maybe they just wanted to make love like UMMan said. lol.

It always makes me laugh. At my local pub in London, there used to be a young guy who worked there, and I remember walking in at one time when he only started working there, and he freaked out because he suddenly realized I was Lucian from "Underworld." He couldn't believe "Lucian" was in this pub, and he said, "Could you wait around because my boss looks like a werewolf and I want to see the two of you have a werewolf fight!" It's an incredibly popular character, so I think the idea is that we're trying to work out the whole idea of doing a third film. It would be a prequel and it would be about Lucian, the third film. Hopefully, we'll get that together.
