Good find--are those BLUE CRYSTALS? Pretty sweet. I was looking at the FOS today in STM, and the green glow I really like. If it comes from the green crystal Clark used to create it, I wonder if Lex's FOS will have a different color glow on the inside.

Mmm blue crystals. Makes me think of that sugar/rock candy that's dyed on a stick. Guess I'm hungry.

I hate posting these pics here but I wandered over the the X3 board to see what kind of goods they've been getting and i see this. Wow. Would you look at the ATMOSPHERE in those?! Why aren't we seeing the same kind of things coming from SR??? Do you think it's because Superman is aimed at a younger audience? Or should SR's marketing department be canned. I'm just alittle irritated. The magazine covers featuring X3 look great and the magazing covers featuring SR have Routh standing on an apple-crate pretending to fly.

I hate the box-standing pics too. But comparing a shot of Wolverine to a shot of Superman is completely erroneous. They are completely different characters. Check the teaser, with Superman in front of the sun, or in space. That's the correct atmosphere for Superman.

Are there normally a lot of huge rocks in corn fields?

Well, when a ship or a plane crashes into the ground, that said "vehicle" would either bring up huge rocks from underneath the ground or push the Earth's crust in such a manner to create them, so yes, there are huge rocks everywhere on Earth, whether it's a corn field or in the middle of downtown New York........

I like the idea but i don't like the pose at all. His arm position just looks weird. If it is indeed a shot of him just taking off then it's fine but he better not fly with his arms curved like that. It just looks awkward. And he better keep his legs and feet together when he flies in the film otherwise he'll already have lost the some of the impact and gracefulness that reeve had. If it's a static shot from the film then they should have chosen a later frame.

Neither.

And no, the "foam" isn't what makes the picture look good, Routh is. Are you really dumb enough to think that there is like a two inch foam pad covering his body, making him look big? There isn't. The "foam" is at most probably as thick as a quarter, and is just there to show definition. Do you need proof that there is no thick padding? Here:

http://latinoreview.com/images/upload/movieimages/movieimage_5045.jpg

This suit is skin tight. See the folds and wrinkles? There are no thick foam muscle pads on him. Routh is a big guy:

http://img102.imageshack.us/img102/9084/kbksrlifecerealsupes0n5lu.jpg

Why does he look so huge in this picture? Because he is! That is not foam, that is all Routh.

The foam padding ONLY adds definition. It does NOT add size.

Maybe it just refers to the decade-long production battle to get it made, including the many people who were at one time involved.

This film is probably one of the worst to suffer production hell.

how is it possible that the suit is tight if we see this? this makes no sense to me.

but what i dont understand is why he has paddign in the chest and biceps area.

there is no way that you can see in a tight suit in that kind of position hes chest.

so why? he has a big biceps.
and how can this suit be tight? and if it is not tight why does he have padding all over the suit? i guess that the blue suit is tighter than the grey suit.

I'm going to try to find any of them later this afternoon. The Brandon Routh article in Nylon just can't be found anywhere in my area. It's still the April issue. There's a new Superman Returns (on the set visit with no new photos) in Starburst (I think, I know it's one of those 9.99 magazines that I'm in no mood to purchase). Maybe I'll get better luck with the Kate Bosworth or Sci-Fi magazine.

Exactly. To call it "controversial" because of a fictional suit or any other reason discussed in the SHH Forums, it's an overstatement.

IMO, when the movie comes out, none will complain. At least, they won't complain about the same issues. I'm highly optimistic that Lois having a kid won't be a problem; Singer has proved in his X-Men movies that he's better than this. There won't be any Legend of Zorro kid-****, nor will he be Lois and Superman's son. There will be something anti-climatic, like he's James White's son from a previous marrage or adopted or something.

BTW, the Sci-Fi cover picture is very very good. Routh gives us something new in every picture he's in. Watching him on screen and having him talking would be simply great! :)

Talking about feet I hope that everytime time he's flying in the movie he has his feet pulled back the right way, just like in that pic,I hope singer and the choreographer always were paying attention to that important detail, the position of the feet I think is very important,it gives supes grace believability and the illusion that he's really flying,if not he will just look like his hanging from wires if you know what I mean.

I did get the Sci-Fi magazine. It's out in Borders and Barnes & Noble for those curious. Still no new photos. Half the article has been taken from Wizard magazine and the other are rewritten to appear new (at least that was my impression). Some new quotes. Standing in the editing suite on the Fox Studio's lot, I watch Bryan and editors John Ottman and Eliot Graham craft the breathtaking sequence. Onscreen a small spacecraft flies over a landscape of crystal. As the ship navigates a stretch of canyon, a massive structure comes into view. Loaded with temporary pre-vis shots, it's not the CGI that thrills me. It's the sight of the monument that looms in front of the ship, a once-noble symbol now an object of dread. While I can't spoil the surprise, I can tell you this: The image brilliantly conveys the heart of Superman's personal tragedy: The destruction of his home and the loss of his parents. I leave the room, my inner geek gasping for air, convinced that Superman's future is in good hands.

a) Why does it have to be something we know about? We've seen exactly one scene and two storyboards of the Krypton trip.

b) How is the dome a monument, a "once-noble symbol now an object of dread", that "brilliantly conveys the heart of Superman's personal tragedy: The destruction of his home and the loss of his parents." The dome from STM doesn't really capture that very well, does it?

I hope it's the remains of the survivors that managed to set up the beacon that lured him out there in the first place.

Dead Argo city, maybe even a rotted corpse relative or to.

I still like my Lex set him up idea, using some kind of technology, to get rid of him.

I like your idea better too, more cohesion if Luthor makes it happen. I will love this movie, and choose to overlook alot of crap, if this is so.

But I still want Superman to gaze upon irradiated corpses.

It would be a nice twist if Lex reveals that towards the end. Not going to happen though.

I kinda like the dead Argo City idea a bit more than Lex luring him there. It would add a level of tragedy, and nicely explain the trip.

Not gonna happen, though. I think he will be looking at something to do with Jor El and the Council. Remember the Webmaster portion of the official site has the symbols of all the council members. We will be seeing them in the film at some point.

I'm wondering something. In the movie "Unbreakable", there were some newspaper clippings of a train wreck. Does anyone have that movie so we could see if its the same picture on the Daily Planet?

Maybe what he saw in the footage of the ship and the krypton canyons was a statue of jor-el or of the kryptonian rulers of old times ,or maybe even a huge "S "which maybe represented the royal family status, and thus we will come to the knowledge that kal-el is a kryptonian prince, which was never told in STM we only knew he was from an important family but didn't know how important.

There is absolutely nothing in Superman about Jor-El being a king. If he were so powerful, you'd think his own council would listen to him when he's telling them that the planet's going to be destroyed.

Face it, that idea only works in stories where Krypton doesn't blow up(Abrams's script, for example).

this only was a suggestion, but anyway Jor-el was one of krypton's most important social figures,so it would be cool to know more of that.

I figure Jor-el was more of an "ahead of the times" kind of guy, where only in retrospect would he be considered great, not at the time because of his "outlandish theor(ies)" and strong rebellious nature.

No, I think we'll see the council dome or whatever it's called; this time broken, cracked, and littered with skeletons.

Yes, I agree with you completely on what you said about Jor-El. No one believed what he was saying, but it ended up becoming true. He was a smart man. It would be a nice touch to see some skeletal remains lying around as well.

I was thinking of something similar to that as well. Maybe he stumbles upon his parents remains and realizes its them for a sad moment. I'm not sure if they'd go into that much detail, but it would definately add to his emotions of finding nothing.

Honestly,I think it would be great if he saw he's parent's remains but with that explosion I doubt that any of that is left,my guess is that what Kal-el sees is some piece of his kryptonian heritage and culture,a huge statue,or since everything is spread in space it would be great to see a half statue maybe even half of the torso of Jor-el with the S cracked and chipped.
