Don't know how many there are but I only see the ones on the back of the boots,besides I think is good cause it represents supes cultural heritage,and he doesn't have the cape S so it is a good contrast and balance if you know what I mean,I don't think the S is overused.

Damn I think Singer is a little obsessed with the S Shield. In the one with Martha u can clearly see 4 S in the bottom of Routh boots plus in the line of toys u can see that he has an S in the back of the boots also. But they couldnt put an S in the Cape?

I think youre examining this the wrong way,remember that the S pattern isn't there just for the sake of it,it serves a purpose in the story,its part of the whole kryptonian motive and part of his heritage.As long as it serves a point in the story and it is explained like singer said it would,then I don't have a problem with it,besides in the movie you won't notice the S o nthe boots most of the time,only the pattern o nthe shield and only in close-ups:)

This would be cool! I'm obsessed with the Superman emblem as well, I'm always doodling it somewhere. I counted all the \S/'s in my Clinical Immunology note book the other day...I saw them on, what seemed like everypage, at least once, while studing for finals...and I got a total of 239! :O It's a 500 paged notebook, but I only used 280...I'm obsessed!

...that would be interesting, yes, but if I am not mistaken, we as the audience would see the mirror image of the \S/ logo as opposed to the correct orientation if it left an imprint on the ground.

the S's are everywhere. but you dont see them. actually they dont make the suit worst. the S on the cape would make it harder to control the cape. heck even the cape is a problem itself for movement.

I don't think that spot light idea is anything, but one thing that bothers me about that pic is the back ground. It's the same as the only problem I had with Batman Begins. It looks a little fake from this very short clip. That hazy light or something. I don't know. Maybe everything looks plastic, too.

^I am not sure which shot that was from. I know they had a shot in the Comic Con blog that had a different background than the teaser. That looks to be the shot from the Comic Con Blog with higher buildings in the background while it was the opposite for the teaser. I would have to look into it.

I think that the shot of Superman in the teaser hovering over the eart was unfinished. They even tweaked the teaser and released a 2nd version of it, which an update on that part.

Yes, if you mean the one where Brando's voiceover says "they only lack the light to show the way", we mean the same scene. It was then when I decided this movie will be epic and cemented my faith on Singer. Shots like that are rare in movies this days, shots that create a feeling of awe and grandeur.

My brother, age 18, was never much into comics and he is a very cynical guy, meaning that rarely something impresses him. But when I made him watch the SR teaser, he was like :eek: when he saw that particular shot. Now he asks about the full trailer every day!:p

I can only hope that they make it better (how can this be? It's already PERFECT!) instead of it not appearing in the movie. Trailers and teasers often feature great shots that don't come up in the theatrical release... (Attack of the Clones comes into mind first, but there are others as well)

Those colours looke very Reeve-ish! Beautiful shot, I'm liking the photography/cinematography of it, it looks classy and I like how the camera seems to be so close to the character, giving a better idea of what it feels like to fly.

Apparently, this is from Sony Imageworks, and they're working on the VFX. There's a good chance this is what the colors will be IMO.

Differnet lighting means different lighting conditions.

If Superman is in the bright sunlight, the red is going to look brighter. If he is flying around at night (the rooftop scene), the red will look darker. If he is surrounded by orange light from the sunset, the red will look differently than it will if he is standing in the blue-ish light of the Foirtress of Solitude.

The colors will look different in every different lighting situation. That is simply how light and color work.
