Too the last one looks like it came from The Incredibles... They shouldn`t try to make human faces. It doesn`t look real enough. Just paste the real face in a CGI body.

You can tell in the movie, but it isn't that bad, that is a photo so it doesn't really count.

i must admit that in this pic it really looks like CGI but the shutle scene was amazing IMO. i really didnt know that it was a CGI brandon when i first saw the movie. the same wit hthe scene when he flys to richards house above metropolis.

Why does he always have to touch up the damn head, neck and eyes of Routh and claim them as "scans". I would appreciate it if he cut the crap and stated he did manip them as well. I remember a little while ago he would'nt admit that he did manip a picture. He only stated it was the S shield, colors and that was it, but its way to obvious that he does more than he claims. Why can't he just post the original scans for those here who want to tweak to their own tastes and desire?

Well kakarot, i think you guys should ask him that. From what i read on this page when he linked to that "scan" of Routh from the front, everyone just said a thank you note and that was it. You have to let the man know that you would like the original. He's a great artist but she should be kind enough if he does intend to post "scans" to post the real deal as well.

Well... :) "SR" was sort of a Reeve tribute, but as to why Singer didn't film that shot from an other angle... I don't know. LOL.

With this next one, Singer should nevermind about Reeve. He's gone. Sure, still focus in on the humanity of our superhero but let Routh be his own Superman. It's his character now anyway.

[/b]

He did indeed go to the Moon in a Quest for Peace but he was able to venture into space in all the films;

1, 2 and 3 were all pre-Crisis (when the comics Supes still had the ability to go deep space) and so they used that ability.

4 was made post - Crisis but as they'd already established that Supes could go into space in the other 3 films, it would have been kinda tough (and pointless imo) to ret-con that; same with SR - being that it takes it's cues from the original films, Supes has the ability to go into space under his own steam again.

That's my understanding, anyways.

Brian Braddock

Have to disagree with you dark_b.

At 1st they do look really similiar, but i've put them even closer together for a comparison, and IMO they don't look as similiar as I 1st thought.

Sure the background looks similiar but most times he's flying from a land mass to over water - it'd look like that.

The angles is slightly different as well.

http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b64/SUPERBENITEZ/supescomp.jpg

Bottom line: - for it to be a copy, it's have to be exactly like the thing it's copying; which it isn't IMO.

but when hes in space
what does he have to thrust himself?
does his body exert force?
im pretty sure im just reading too much into it
i just dont get it

I actually found this to be the worst flying scene in the movie, it looked completely fake, it looked like brandon was just stuck there in 1 spot and didnt seem like he was flying. And notice how Christopher Reeve's feet are positioned properly and correctly, brandons are just straight, and you can tell its just poor and lazy people who didnt bother to utilise the previous films flying scenes for research.

You only have to look at how Chris Reeve flew in all 4 movies, he made it look effortless and beautiful, superman returns wasn't as good.

The guy who made the Zoptic machine was a genius, no CGI needed there, bollocks to all that, just a man in tights is enough!

aah, the gold old days, when actual talent was used instead of today where lazy people just shove in CGI wherever they please.

Dude I know! Look how life-like Reeve's hair is. ALL STIFF.

aah, the gold old days, when morons didn't post so much.

ohh come on retro. the angle, the background is almost 99% the same. the only difference is the suit, the actor and the expression on their faces.
Still a big difference.:o And his hair actually moves unlike Reeve's wind resistant hair.

I don't see any reason to argue about this because Supes has been flying like that for eons.Long before Reeve donned the suit.

Thanks btw the for that pic from Cinefex.

well, seeing what they had to work with in the late 70's, I'd say it was pretty good... but overall, I prefer the Reeve style flight more than Routh's. It looks more believeable, and they didn't have to rely on CGI to make us believe that a man could fly.

Super Kal
10-11-2006, 09:38 PM
if Donner had the chance... maybe. The reason I like the flying style of that is because to me it still looks believeable, especially the wire work. I absolutely loved the wire work in 1 and 3, especialy, because they used it the most in 3.

but Reeve made it work because he knew how to move in the harness.

h0metwnhero
10-11-2006, 09:48 PM
now that i think about it they did do a good job in 3 with it.
when he was flying over the corn fields, his take off and landings with the chemical fire, and when drunken superman was flopping around in the air.

so i guess ill just eat my words now.

Super Kal

Lol, yeah - I always laugh when watching 4. After Nuclear Man destroys the Great Wall of China, when he flys off you can clearly see the actors' arms flapping as if he's desperately trying to steady himself - hardly conveys the image of a superbeing who's power of flight is 2nd nature.

It is a bootleg, it is a copy going around the internet, as it is not released in Europe or the USA yet, most likely people are geting it from the internet or on the streets.

no, it's not a bootleg... WB did release the movie In China to compete with piracy.

Unless the user purchased it from China him/her self, then it mostly likely he/she got it from the Internet or on the streets, then that is a Bootleg. Unless they have the original copy then it is not. I am pretty sure the caps are from the bootleg that is going around the web.

Super Kal

Chris had so much Super-lacquer on that super-wig, no wonder it didnt move.

Sturdier than vibranium and adamantium combined.
It didn't move beause they couldnt use a fan when they shot Reeve. They used a special cape with a mechanism mush like the ribs of umbrella and it was manipulated offscreen to move like it was flying. When they used fans the wind bounced off of the scotchlight screen (because he was so close to it, and would blow the cape back towards him in the wrong direction. So they used a special flying cape.

Designer and artdirector Allan Taylor has worked on many marketing campaigns (X-Men 3 etc) and also did an early teaser Superman Returns promo for Warner.Don't think they ended up using it.

see?

even the trailer lied about the film... you can't trust anything the WB has to offer.

You know, all Singer had to do was let Superman return a few 'human' punches to show that he actually puts up a fight despite the effects of Kryptonite.

It'd have made a world of difference.

I completely agree with this statement, and i've said it other places here too. He doesn't fight because he has powers, he fights because he is a warrior who defends others, or fights to save others, having the powers just happens to help. He didn't even throw a punch. For the love of all that is holy, he is freakin superman.

It seems that its the poor quality of the screencaps more than anything.

It seems that its the poor quality of the screencaps more than anything.no no no . i was trying to show you guys that after the trailer they were using a filter. they made the enviorment more orange. on the other side this change changed also the suit and made the red more red. if it would be like in the trailr the red would be more desaturated.

Steelsheen
10-24-2006, 08:31 PM
you could if you knew where to look, grab and upload ;)

skins are made and DLed all the time from skinning sites. the site i look to i think probably made the BB WMP skin, and they advertised the SR skin heavily, its just that given the limited number of PCs theres certainly a great deal of demand for the SR skin, but why wont they make them available? those Alienware PCs are sold out already arent they? why still make the skins difficult to get?

you know these are one of the things where the marketing dept could use to promote the movie with, keep it in the public's consciousness, yet it appears like they're purposely killing the interest.
