Nope, it will more less be seen as a bloated hiccup in his career. I doubt he's that fond of it either seeing as to how he nearly stopped directing over it. I think he took the negative and mixed responses quite personally.
as much as i would like to see Ang's take on Abomination, i doubt it. Just get Alex Proyas and they'll be fine

I at least think that people are now willing to give Hulk another chance. Whenever i watch a movie i enjoy, i always look who the director is, and if i havent seen any of his/her previous movies, i look out for them. I'm sure there are many more people like that in the world. I think (and hope) that more people will now give it another chance, and i think some will.

Do you think people are going back and watching/appreciating "HULK"?If they are watching Broke back they won't care about the Hulk. He'd better stay far away from the sequel to the Hulk, and I've heard he won't be doing it, I'm sure Marvel and Universal know he screwed up the first big time. I'm so tired of people making excuses for that moron. He ruined the Hulk movie Nuff said. That was not how the Hulk should've been done. Some long drawn out boring crap.

please shut the f**k up... if you knew anything thing, you'd know he came in after the script was done, you'd know that Universal didnt let him do most of the things he wanted, you'd know the final film we got was a mix of Universal wanting a film like spidey and Angs' Hulk.

I think Hulk could be made better with a re-edit, but I think that every hero must have an equal antagonist and that is why Hulk suffered.

Well many people here like the way the movie turned out, i'd take Hulk over FF any day. I'd rather have something long and drawn out instead of a quick happy slap popcorn movie.

I'm actually quoting you to comment on your sig, but I'll say I hate the Hulk movie...
Anyway, the line from firefly... I can't remember what movie it's from or even who says it but someone beats up someone and the one guy says "I thought you were just gonna scare him" and the other one says "he looked scared to me". Firefly STOLE that ****! I wish I could remember what movie it's from.

I think that Ang Lee's HULK will be viewed as Joel Schumaker's BATMAN & ROBIN. While the two movies are incomparable on a level of quality or film making, they will both be viewed as mistakes or blunders by respected directors. Much like playing Batman, Catwoman, and Terl are just viewed as blunders for respected actors George Clooney, Halle Berry, and John Travolta.

There was a variation of the line in Robocop 2, when Cain killed that fat cop guy, is that what your talking about?

Comparing those two movies are like apples and oranges. Ang Lee is a gifted director. Schumacher is hit and miss.

Put me in the camp that would hate to see Ang Lee anywhere near a super-hero movie ever again. For whatever reason...The Hulk was horrid. (Yes...that's right...I said "THE" Hulk....not "Hulk".)
If Ang had nothing to do with the Hulk not talking again....with choosing Nick Nolte to screw up every scene he was in....with making the Hulk grow so ridiculously large by the end of the movie that he looked like Mighty Joe Young...then I'll forgive him.
I would like to see one director get the fact that the Hulk can talk. He is NOT a mute.
I will admit that I rooted against Brokeback at the Oscars just because Ang screwed up the Hulk.

Hulk did talk, and he talked when he needed to .. what the f**k was he going to say when he was getting chased by Helicopters and Mutant Dogs?... He was never in the position to talk himself out of anything, you think Talbot would have listened when he was trying to drill a hole in Hulk's face?... you think Ross would has stopped if Hulk had said anything?... Nick Nolte did over act, thats true, but then again he is playing and mentally screwed up character, maybe thats what he was trying to show.

He talked in a dream. Two words...wow.
How about "Leave me/Hulk alone!" or "Get away from me/Hulk or I/Hulk will smash you!!"?
Perhaps he could have had something to say to Betty instead of staring at her with a sad look on his face.....like a mute would? Crack open a Hulk comic for clues as to when the Hulk has things on his mind he wants to say. He doesn't act like someone super-glued his lips together, that's for sure.
And I believe I've seen more than one action movie where they manage to have the hero say something in action scenes. Are you saying Bruce Willis should have not talked during Die Hard? Heck...even Arnold had lines in Terminator and Conan. And we can't have the Hulk say something?
That TV show truly was the worst thing that could have happened to the Hulk.
I think Nolte was trying to show how painfully bad an actor can look in a role. Gotta give him credit...he pulled it off.

do you realize that the lines you just said that Huk should say sounds retarded, really, i hate the way Hulk talks in the comics sometimes. to have the hero say stupid one liners and the end of some action scene is crap, its old. Hulk didnt have a sad look in his face when he was with Betty, go watch the scene again, he was happy. You cant compare Hulk to guys from Die Hard and Terminator. Hulk was fighting with machines and animals in the movie, what the hell was he going to say without sounding stupid?...

A guy with the mentality of a 5 year old saying "Leave me alone or I will smash you!" sounds stupid?
Sounds spot on to me.
I've heard rumors that people do talk between fights.
It's too painful to watch the scenes where the Hulk does his Harpo Marx imitation when he should have been saying something...anything. I don't care...give a weather report....the guy can talk. He had nothing at all to say to Betty? Nothing? THAT...is stupid. (And go with a "happy look" if that makes you feel better...the same complaint applies. He couldn't say something?)
If you prefer the TV show Hulk over the comic Hulk then you're disqualified as a Hulk fan. There has never been a reason for the Hulk to be a mute. It makes no sense for the title character to have zero personality. They don't call it "The Incredible Bruce Banner" in the comic...they didn't call it "The Incredible David Banner" on the TV show ("David" Banner? Yet another stupidity in a long line of them on that show.)....they didn't call the movie "Bruce Banner". (But they may as well have.)
The Hulk has feelings and a personality of his own. All that has to be left out if you choose to make the Hulk a mute. Do they think the Hulk and King Kong are the same character? (Ang must have thought he was signed to remake King Kong since he was trying to make the Hulk as big as Kong.)

That's your personal oproblem to have to be over-explained about everything. Rest of people with a brain don't need it.
He could be saying something. Like? Hulk is bored? Hulk is sad? Oh Hulk feels so alone? Puny humans, why do they bother Hulk?
Any other moronic over-obvious line talked in a Tarzan-like idiom?

That's because you think 'personality' is nonsense blah blah blah.
Which explains your nonsense babbling.

They didn't call movies 'Clark Kent' or 'Bruce Wayne', even so, those characters are the leading roles, my stupid friend.
The Hulk has feelings and a personality of his own.
And he had in the movie.
It's just you thinking speaking is having feelings.
Did King Kong have feelings and personality? Yes, even when he didn't speak a word. Even more, the fact they don't talk makes their feelings far more potent on screen.
For people who can get art, not some ignorant average Joe like yourself.
All that has to be left out if you choose to make the Hulk a mute. Do they think the Hulk and King Kong are the same character? (Ang must have thought he was signed to remake King Kong since he was trying to make the Hulk as big as Kong.)

if you think a character cant have a personality without talking then go watch Kingkong. When did i say that i liked the TV show Hulk more than the comic book one?... The Tv show Hulk was my frist exposure to this great character but isnt my fav. THere are things i liked about the TV show Hulk, and things i didnt. Its a personal thing, you wanted him to talk, my inpression of you is that you grew up reading the comicbook and him talking that way isnt a big deal for you. Thats fine by me, but there are others who arent, my guess would be that alot find him talking that way kinda stupid, here's this huge character who demands repect yet talks like a retard . There are lines i've read Hulk say in comicbooks that make me cringe. IMO Hulk talked when he needed to, could he have talked more?, yes... but not in the way he does in comicbooks.

It is the desire for a sequel by both fans and movie makers that tells you something about how good the movie was. You hear any one talking about a sequel to Catwoman? How about Gigli? White Chicks?
A sequel to the Hulk should be automatic.
Not so...thanks Ang.

Yes...you made your point. The Hulk isn't getting a sequel for the same reasons those other movies didn't. (You left out Gone with the Wind and Casablanca...that would have been even funnier.)

Let's not take the current movie climate into account or anything. Or the fact that any movie that is even moderately successful these days gets a sequel. Big Momma's House 2 anyone? The Ring 2? Bad Boys 2? Meet the Fockers? (Ugh...I have to stop...I'm becoming nauseated.)
