I know there are casting threads for seperate characters, but i thought it would be cool to jhust have a big one for every character you can think of even if you know they'll never get a movie. Major and minor characters, and please post pics. Oh, and you can recast charcters that have already appeared in a movie by a better actor of your choice.

Thanks. And yeah, I guess I agree with the Question/Fillion thing. But I really wasn't thinking of the voice much when I was thinking of the casting. Also, what did you think of casting Chuck Norris as Richard Dragon? I mean, I know Chuck isn't that great an actor, but he's also pretty much Richard Dragon incarnate.
Not sure. Ill have to read more about Dragon first. Is he from the Charleton verse?

Milton Fine (Brainiac) - Adrien Brody
http://www.waposdecine.com/emed/candidatos/adb.jpghttp://img.ent.tom.com/images/zhuanti/brody/x/10.jpgWah?
I assume you're basing this casting decision off of the Smallville version of Brainiac, because Brody looks about as physically opposite as you can get from the actual Milton Fine incarnation of Brainiac.
Wah?
I assume you're basing this casting decision off of the Smallville version of Brainiac, because Brody looks about as physically opposite as you can get from the actual Milton Fine incarnation of Brainiac.
Im not basing it off the Smallville version. In fact I want to steer clear of it. I think he has the talent to pull off Milton Fine, as least playing the character from the comics (the Carnavalist). Brody has that classic look that works well into Singer's 1930s look for Superman. He also looks like a warped version of Brandon Routh which makes his look interesting on screen with Superman.
Obviously Brainiac, look-wise, should be reworked for the movie. The green-skin, orange bearded classic Brainiac would just look lame and not fit the asthetics of the movie.
Smallville made the mistake of making 'Milton Fine' an alias of Brainiac. In the movie however, Brainiac should be the computer that takes over Fine's body. There is a struggle between man and machine as hes slowly losing his humanity to Brainiac. So yea, thats why I listed the name 'Milton Fine' first...it should focus more on him initially.
The look for Brainiac in this movie should be something original that fits with the backdrop of the movie.

That would be a good angle to take it. I always liked the idea of Brainiac never having tasted ir smelled anything before, or been to anything like a baseball game or a movie, so he's facinated with Earth's culture. Doesn't mean he's not going to fulfil his mission of bringing perfect order to the world. Just menas that he revels a bit in the tactile sensations of humanity, and will probably set asided some human comforts to savor once he has remade the world.

Thats one golden rule I prefer DC never break. They should never cast actors associated with Marvel movie franchaises into DC films. I think it would be too confusing for the general public or at the very least the actors should be known for the specific superhero/villian they play and not multiple ones.

I did a DC casting call back in 2002 on these boards
at the time I said:
Superman-David Borenaz (shrugs)
Batman-Bale
Wonder Woman-Charisma Carpenter
Catwoman-Charlize Theron
Lois Lane-Kate Beckinsale
Lex Luthour-Kevin Spacey
Flash-Paul Walker
Robin/Dick Grayson-Jake Gylehall
Black Canary-Ali Larter
Huntress-Bridget Monyahan
Harley Quinn-Brittany Murphy

those are interesting. i cant see David Borenaz as Superman though.
Batman- Bale (who else he's Batman?)
Superman- Tom Welling (who else he's Superman?)
Wonder Woman-Charisma Carpenter (she'd be good for it)
Joker-Michael Massee (the dude from NBC mini series Revelations. he played Isaiah Haden)
Jim Gordon- Gary Oldman (who else?)
Lex Luthor- Michael Rosenbaum (I'm sorry but he's perfect for it.)
The Flash- Paul Walker could work I guess.
(or Ryan Reynolds)
Brainiac- James Marsters (he did an awesome job as him on Smallville)

The Comedian: Ray Liotta
http://movie-cast.com/liotta.jpg
This ia really great casting. I had always pictures Bruce Campbell but Liottas great too.
http://www.xenafan.com/images/convention/brucecon01.jpg
Also, hes not in very good shape by i think Jeffery Combs would be a good Rorschach but Im basing this on his performance as The Question on JLU
http://www.hadler.de/Nexus2000/combs.jpg
Bruce Cambell is the man.
I finally read "The Watchmen" for a school project;
Roschach: I agree that Jeffrey Combs would own the role. Jeff wouldnt be right to play The Question in a movie, but in this; he has the perfect height, voice and skill to make this character friggen cool.
The Comedian: I have to agree with whoever suggested Bruce Campbell. I think he can play a cocky conceited egocentric ******* a bit better than Liotta.
Dr Manhattan: For him, I would actually prefer Billy Zane in the role. He has that cold voice and demeanor that almost makes him seem alien despite being human, much like Jon.
http://kewby.com/celebs/BillyZane/photo.jpg http://www.saturos.net/under/underpics/billy2.jpghttp://film.onet.pl/_i/news/duze/b/billy_zane_3.jpg
Silk Spectre II: While this character isnt the most developed, I agree Rachel Weisz has the sex appeal and youthful looks to pull it off. I dont think Connelly could pass as a 16 year old in the flashbacks.
Nite Owl II: Steven Culp would be great in this. He has a cool voice and is a skilled actor actually. I could see him pulling it off easily. (http://totallysteven.org/tv.gallery.html)
http://www.firsttvdrama.com/enterprise/images/culp.jpg http://images.contactmusic.com/images/reviews/sculp.jpg
Ozymandias - Viggo Mortensen would be perfect in the role for me. Jason Issacs, while a cool actor, looks too clearly evil. Adrian doesnt come off as villianous at the start, its more of a twist later on. Viggo has that ability to play heroes and misguided heroes/villians. I could totally see him making this character believeable.

Tom Welling is actually 29. There is only a three year difference between Bale and Welling.
Umm ya I know that. But the character he plays on SV is 18. Thats the point. If your using TW, it will be a direct continuation of SV. Itd be too convoluted to use him and try to assume otherwise.

1) Why would it have to be a direct continueation of Smallville?
2) Even if it were, why would it have to take place just after Smallivlle?
2) Even if it were, why would it have to take place just after Smallivlle?
Because its confirmed that BB thats place in the present, so does SV. That gets rid of the possibility of TW's Clark abd Bale's Batman existing together in continuity.... unless you want Superman as a teen teamed up with Batman as an adult.
Nothing against TW (this is clearly the shows fault) but BR and CB make a more logical pair.

I think that's a bit much. They could easily have Clark being older and actually being Superman teaming with Christian Bale, if they went with Tom Welling. Hell, they wouldn't even have to mention Smallville at all.

Having him in the role immediately ties it to Smallville. I doubt they could pull off using the same actor to play 2 different incarnations of the character in different franchaises. Way too convoluted.
Actually I know they couldnt. One of the 80s Superboy actors came close to getting the new Superman movie role (in one of the aborted projects) but was turned away when they learned he was in the 80s Superboy series. That was kinda funny.

They could simply not mention Smallville at all. Leave weather or not it's in continuity up to the veiwer's imagination.
But theres no way it could be if it was. It would be pretty messy.
You definately needed a fresh faced unknown to pull off the Superman thing. I agree with Donner.
I'd say we should revisit this question after you see Superman Returns. Brandon may be the only Superman actor ever to pull off the Metropolis Clark/ Smallville Clark/ Superman identity thing in a believable way (since Singer seemed to put alot of emphasis into making that comicbook concept believeable).
