How the game is played:
One verse of the lyrics for 3 different songs are given, all 3 songs share a common theme and the theme is usually one of the words in the name of the title or artist.

If someone gets both the song title and the artist they get ** (2 points). The theme counts as 1 point. If someone "sweeps" the board (get's all 3 songs and artists) they get 7 points and an Animated Gif. Bonus points may be earned if a song was sung by more than 1 group or artist and the others are named.

If no one gets one of the songs from the first verse than approximatly every hour a new verse will be posted.

If there are no verses left then a hangman style board is put up with the letters from the song title and artist scrambled below.

If there are still no guesses then the hangman board gets filled in one letter at a time (i.e. all the A's are put into place).

:D Are we confused yet? If so, check back over the previous games.

1. Early in the morning, I'm still in bed
She comes to me with sweet affection
Wakes me with kisses, "Hello sleepyhead."
Gets me moving in the right direction
I do my best to give her love that lasts forever
It seems like everything I do I'm doing better

2. We were as one babe for a moment in time
And it seemed everlasting
That you would always be mine
Now you want to be free
So I'm letting you fly
'Cause I know in my heart
Our love will never die

3. The night we met I knew I needed you so
and if I had the chance I'd never let you go.
So won't you say you love me,
I'll make you so proud of me.
We'll make 'em turn their heads every place we go.

1. Later in the evening, it's been a busy day
She lays her head upon my weary shoulder
Listen to her laughing, snuggle up and say
Now I'm with you _._._._, the loneliness is over
I do my best to give her love that lasts forever
It seems like everything I do I'm _._._._._ better

2. You'll always be a part of me
I'm part of you indefinitely
Boy, don't you know you can't escape me
Ooh darling, 'cause you'll _._._._._._ - _._ - _._ - _._._._
And we'll linger on
Time can't erase a feeling this strong
No way, you're never gonna shake me
Oh darling, 'cause you'll _._._._._._ - _._ - _._ - _._._._

3. So won't you, please,
Be my, _._ - _._ - _._._._
be my little _._._._
My one and only, baby
Say you'll be my darlin',
Be my, _._ - _._ - _._._._

I honestly didn't think these were obscure.

1 of these artists was really big in the 80's.

The other was big in the 90's.

The third was prior to the 80's and while I recognized their name immediatly they were never "super" stars.

I was good this time, honest, I stuck to American groups/artists.

You know what, though? There's no need to stick to American artists; the US produces a whole bunch of crap (along with a bunch of good stuff, too). It's cool; go international (well, I suppose you already have, posting American songs). Broaden your horizons. The Brits make a bunch of good music...and I guess some Canadian bands, too. ;)

Personally, I love Falco (Austrian) and Nena (German). Hubby is a big AC/DC fan (also German). He also likes Mötley Crüe (and with umlauts like that they're probably a German band too).

I'm guessing that we need to start anew since we don't know if the last one was solved. So here we go!!

1
Here it is the groove slightly transformed
just a bit of a break from the norm
just a little somethin' to break the monotony
of all that hardcore dance that has gotten to be
a little bit out of control it's cool to dance
but what about the groove that soothes that moves romance
give me a soft subtle mix
and if ain't broke then don't try to fix it
and think of the summers of the past
adjust the base and let the alpine blast
pop in my CD and let me run a rhyme
and put your car on cruise and lay back cause this is _________

2
When winter hush turns summer pink
In half the time it takes to blink
But it all depends on what'choo think
___ ___ ____ ___ ______
When all you think of all day long
Is a pretty face inside a song
With a thought like that you can't go wrong
____ ___ ____ ___ ______
Oh yeah... (Do you know what everybody's talkin' 'bout)
Some girls are all about it
Some girls they love to let it fly
Some girls can't live without it
Some girls are born to make you cry

3
Where is the sun,
The sun that used to shine on me?
Where has it gone
Or is it just a memory?

I looked through the window,
Staring at the sky,
Waiting for a moment
That always passed me by.

school is out and it's a sort of a buzz
a back then I didn't really know what it was
but now I see what have of this
the way that people respond to summer madness
the weather is hot and girls are dressing less
and checking out the fellas to tell 'em who's best
riding around in your jeep or your benzos
or in your Nissan stting on lorenzos
back in Philly we be ou in the park
a place called the plateau is where everybody goes
guys out hunting and girls doing likewise
honking at the honey in front of you with the light eyes
she turn around to see what you beeping at
it's like the summers a natural afradesiac
and with a pen and pad I compose this rhyme
to hit you and get you equipped for the _________

Here's a new set:

1. If you don't like
What you got
Why don't you change it
If your world is all screwed up
Rearrange it

2. The sirens are screaming, and the fires are howling
Way down in the valley tonight.
There's a man in the shadows with a gun in his eye
And a blade shining oh so bright.
There's evil in the air and there's thunder in the sky,
And a killer's on the bloodshot streets.
And down in the tunnels where the deadly are rising
Oh, I swear I saw a young boy down in the gutter
He was starting to foam in the heat.

3. They cry in dark,
so you can't see their tears.
They hide in the light,
so you can't see their fears.
Forgive and forget,
all the while
Love and pain become one and the same
in the eyes of a wounded child.

You've solved #2.

More of the remaining songs for the theme. The chorus for song 1 is the same four words repeated 9 times.

1. If you don't like what you see
Why don't you fight it
If you know there's something wrong
Why don't you right it

3. Because _._._._, - _._._._ - _._ - _._._ - _._._._._._._._!

1. In the end it comes down to your thinking
And there's really nobody to blame
When it feels like your ship is sinking
And you're too tired to play the game

Nobody's going to help you
You've just got to stand up alone
And dig in your heels

1. Six of the best
Put me to the test
Things on your chest
You need to confess

2. I don't care 'cause I'm not there
And I don't care if I'm here tomorrow
Again and again I've taken too much
Of the things that cost you too much

3. What if all these fantasies

:D You're right with the those 2. The third one is tough so I'll add a bit of a clue:

The band name might make you think of a catch in the performance to treat a disease.

Next verse of the song:

Ok, well I'll go, then. I'm doing 4 because I picked a weak thread between them and there could be a billion songs I could make the connection with. They're 4 somewhat easy ones, if you ask me, anyway. Sometimes I use more than the first verse if it's short. In chronological order:

1. [...]
Twenty-six dollars in my hand
Up to Lexington, 125
Feel sick and dirty, more dead than alive
[...]

Hey, white boy, what you doin' uptown?
Hey, white boy, you chasin' our women around?
Oh pardon me sir, it's the furthest from my mind
I'm just lookin' for a dear, dear friend of mine
[...]

2. I get up at seven, yeah
And I go to work at nine
I got no time for livin'
Yes, I'm workin' all the time

It seems to me
I could live my life
A lot better than I think I am
I guess that's why they call me

3. Has he lost his mind?
Can he see or is he blind?
Can he walk at all,
Or if he moves will he fall?
Is he alive or dead?
Has he thoughts within his head?
We'll just pass him there
why should we even care?

4. I come back...come back

Ok. Here's the entire rest of 1. I was going to just give 2 verses, but since there are only 3 left, I'm just doing the whole thing.

1. Here he comes, he's all dressed in black
Beat up shoes and a big straw hat
He's never early, he's always late
First thing you learn is you always gotta wait
[...]

Up to a Brownstone, up three flights of stairs
Everybody's pinned you, but nobody cares
He's got the works, gives you sweet taste
Ah then you gotta split because you got no time to waste
[...]

Baby don't you holler, darlin' don't you bawl and shout
I'm feeling good, you know I'm gonna work it on out
I'm feeling good, I'm feeling oh so fine
Until tomorrow, but that's just some other time
[...]

Admittedly, 4's a bit more obscure, but I figured at least 1 person would know it. Here's the rest:

4. one two three four one two three...
I wait every moment
I wait, wait for my chance
I wait for my friend to say
hello, you [...]
feel no fret feel no fret feel no fret
you can wait and feel no fret
and so I wait so I wait so I wait so I wait
I return face is smiling
be home soon cry on your shoulder
tears of a [...]
every moment wait for my chance
my friend say hello feel no fret
you can wait and I wait and I wait
and home I am...

They're an acquired taste. I really like some of their stuff but really don't like some of their other stuff. They're really talented, but often really redundant. I saw them live about a year ago and it was a great show, although at times it felt like they were playing the same song again.

Personally, I hate their studio work. If you like the Discipline era, however, look for a live album called "Live at Cap D'agde" or a live video called "The Noise: Live at Frejus." Both are quite excellent. I could help you out with the audio if you'd ever get off your ass and PM me! So much Rush and King Crimson music is going to waste! Well, actually, not waste because I'm listening to it.... :)

Three songs that share a word in the title!!!

1. I used to be the kind of guy
Who'd never let you look inside
I'd smile when I was crying
I had nothing but a life to lose
Thought I had a lot to prove
In my life, there's no denying

2. I hitched a ride with a vending machine repairman
He said he's been down this road more than twice
He was high on intellectualism
I've never been there, but the brochure looks nice

3. Sometimes I'm right and I can be wrong
My own beliefs are in my song
The butcher, the thinker, the drummer and then
Makes no difference what group I'm in
I am ..., yeah

That would have been cute. But sorry, no, you're wrong on both counts.

Here's a little more of song 3. Hope it helps.

3. There is a blue one, who can't accept the green one

And different strokes for different folks
And so on and so on and scooby dooby doo
We got to live together

Ok. This time around, I'm only going to use songs that actually charted in the hopes that more people might know them. They all charted in the 80s (if you include '79). Good luck.

1.
Someone found a letter you wrote me, [...]
and they told the world just how you felt
it must have fallen out of a hole in your old brown overcoat
they never said your name
but I knew just who they meant.

2.
Begin the day
With a friendly voice
A companion, unobtrusive
Plays that song that's so elusive
And the magic music makes your morning mood

3.
I heard you on the wireless back in Fifty Two
Lying awake intent at tuning in on you.
If I was young it didn't stop you coming through.
Oh-a oh
They took the credit for your second symphony.
Rewritten by machine and new technology,
and now I understand the problems you can see.

4.
Well I'm not uptight, not unattractive
turn me on tonight, I'm [...], [...]
Well its not a fight, and I'm not your captive
turn me loose to the night - I'm [...], [...]

I believe these are in chronological order, as well. Happy guessing! :)

At the party she was kindness in the hard crowd.
Consolation for the old wound now forgotten.
Yellow tigers crouched in jungles in her dark eyes.
She's just dressing, goodbye windows, tired starlings.

3)
I've been looking at the sky
'Cause it's gettin' me high
Forget the herse 'cause I never die
I got nine lives
Cat's eyes
Usin' every one of them and running wild

Cats and yellow tigers - hmm... seems extremely feline somehow, but nothing looks too familiar yet.

White Room. Which either makes the theme colors or simply black and white.

This time, in no particular order:

1.
I got my first real six string
Bought it at the five and dime
Played it til my fingers bled
Was the [...]

Me and some guys from school
Had a band and we tried real hard
Jimmy quit and Jody got married
I shoulda known we'd never get far
But when I look back now
That [...] seemed to last forever
And if I had the choice
Ya - I'd always wanna be there
Those were the best days of my life

2.
[...]
When the weather is high
You can stretch right up
An' touch the sky
When the weather's fine
You got women, you got women on your mind
Have a drink, have a drive
Go out an' see what you can find

3.
Nobody on the road
Nobody on the beach
I feel it in the air
The [...]'s out of reach
Empty lake, empty streets
The sun goes down alone
I'm drivin' by your house
Though I know you're not at home

Note: not every [...] is the full title. I omitted the theme word, as well. Happy guessing! :)

That's why I usually let the winner of the previous round set up the next round. It gives the rest of us a chance to catch up.

So shall I get the three songs then???

Go nuts. I just came up with 3 songs on a theme, but they're slightly more obscure, so you go first.
