Who else do you guys need for the Ultimate DC rpg?


Well, since we just lost out Hal Jordan, a GL would be cool.


Hmm... Well, another villian wouldn't hurt, right now. (7 Heroes, 6 Villians, currently)

Of course, neither would Martian Manhunter, since most of the Justice League is made up (Or going to be, anyway).

I believe Q also had some ideas for Teen Titans members... So that may be something to talk about.

Really, though, it's up to you. Any DC Character you want to ultimize is fine with me, as long as they aren't reserved or already taken.

Character You Would Like To Play: Wonder Woman (Diana)

Basic History Of The Character: Diana is the product of a relationship between Queen Hippolyta and a common man on the other side of Themyscira called Steve Trevor. She was raised as a princess and taught to be prejudiced against men by both her embittered mother and her trainer and teacher, Artemis. A small girl, she found herself lacking in strength, speed, stamina, and the like. As such, she was treated with specialised gases and other substances that boosted these qualities far beyond any expectations. Due to this and her skill with Amazonian weaponry, she was chosen to be the Themysciran ambassador. This translated to the name she currently goes by...Wonder Woman.

Three Reasons Why You Have Chosen That Character:

1. I've never played her before and want to expand my skills.

2. I like the mythical layer of her character.

3. I am looking forward to reinventing her.

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character As A Person: I plan to reinvent Diana as a realistic woman with a developing personality. I hope to portray as I believe she would be. She will be prejudiced towards men and arrogant, but I hope to expand her character to show different and original reasons for this attitude.

I was thinking of Justice League when I started thinking characters. I thought of Question. Question could be just investagating Luthor or Batman or all these heroes.

Character You Would Like To Play: Aquaman

Basic History Of The Character: Arturr is the young prince of Atlantis. He has spent his life being groomed and prepared to replace his father at the throne. He has proven himself time and time again, easily overcoming any challenges thrown his way. Now, he is sent to the surface as an ambassador for Atlantis. This will, however, prove his greatest challenge, as he is there to secretly study and observe humans in order to better know his enemy, as the Atlanteans, fed up with humanity's mistreatment of the oceans, prepare for an attack on the surface.

Three Reasons Why You Have Chosen That Character:

1. Aquaman needs more respect!! Hopefully I can give him some.

2. I love superheroes, I love the story of Atlantis. This unites both. :up:

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character As A Person: Having easily succeeded in everything thrown his way in Atlantis, Arturr has become a brash and arrogant young man. However, when he arrives at the surface world, he will have to come to grips with the fact that maybe he is not as powerful as he considers himself to be, as adapting to the physical conditions make him literally a fish out of the water. As Arturr becomes amazed with the powerful champions that inhabit the surface and slowly realises how wrong he was about humans, he will start to hesitate about helping the Atlantean attack, soon becoming a true hero.

Two Complete Sentances In Proper English Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player): I love to write, and I've been told I don't suck at it. And I think I can make this character pretty respectable, even to his detractors, by using more of a human approach to him.

I personally would have gone the "exiled prince reclaiming the throne" idea. Some fascist group takes over Atlantis, with Orin's older brother, Orm, taking control. Baby Orin is sent into the wilderness to die, survives as a sort of under water Tarzan, and many years later comes back with political discedents he gathered together and takes back Atlantis. But, I do like your ideas too.

Great thread you guys got here. It got me to looking for pics of Ultimate DC characters. I looked around and found some amazing pics ( I think ). I am not sure how to post here but I can send them to you if you like. I have ones for , Supes, Bats, Green Lantern ( Hal I think ), WW, MM, Aquaman and Flash. The one for Aquaman is my favorite. the whole coup d'etat (sp?) thing was kind of like that. Jor-El's brother raged a war that practically destroyed Krypton, and in order to protect Kal-El, Jor-El sent him to earth, so he could come back later and, when he was ready, save Krypton, fullfilling some prophecy.

there were actually much worse things in the script, like Luthor being a kryptonian working undercover as a CIA agent. it was SOOO not Superman, but with a few adjustments (no prophecy, no Kryptonian Luthor) might've made a cool ultimate Supes. ;)

After reporting in to the “Guardians” they felt that maybe someone closer to the people of Earth would be able to provide this protection to its inhabitants. Perhaps someone from Earth. Abin Sur searched all over the planet before narrowing it down to four individuals. All were male. Out of all of them one in particular stood out…Hal Jordan. He had showed incredible physical prowess on many of the athletic fields of competition but serious shoulder injury caused him to have a change of course. He became a lover of all things art and design. It was this balance that Abin Sur had been looking for in someone. He approached Hal one night in his Greenwich apartment to make him an offer he hopped he wouldn’t refuse…

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character As A Person: Struggling with the idea that he has to police the entire planet of both heroes and villains. Playing the role of peacekeeper. He accepts himself to be something more than he is and often struggles with the responsibility. He wants to make the earth a better place but he has to be reactionary not proactive. He doesn’t really know the meaning of patience. He has been given this incredible power and with it comes a bit of frustration. He is often will seek out advice from other heroes and people in general. Its his job to make sure the “supers” don’t get too uppity or abuse their power.

I have been reading comics ( both Marvel and DC ) for over 25 years. The idea of putting a modern spin on DC heroes is exciting and I have lots of ideas.

Plus they know he can take care of himself and has been since he was 10. He cooks his own dinner, washes the dishes, does his homework, and watches a little TV; then he sits down to do what he likes best playing on his X-Box. After beating a the final level of the hottest new game out Space Knights the screen prompts after the credits “Are you ready for a real challenge” He is intrigued by this proposition since this game by far is the hardest game on all levels of play he has ever seen. He clicks yes and the screen begins to shake and the lights in the house blink and then he is sucked into his tv and transported to another world where a group of little blue man greet him. Well he doesn’t look like much to me you sure you got the right one? And that is where our story starts.

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character As A Person: Struggling with the idea that he has to police the entire planet of both heroes and villains. Playing the role of peacekeeper. He accepts himself to be something more than he is and often struggles with the responsibility. He wants to make the earth a better place but he has to be reactionary not proactive. He doesn’t really know the meaning of patience. He has been given this incredible power and with it comes a bit of frustration. He is often will seek out advice from other heroes and people in general. Its his job to make sure the “supers” don’t get too uppity or abuse their power.

Alright, regarding GL... It's a bit of a complicated matter.

For one thing, RAMORE reserved Green Lantern... But he said nothing about Hal Jordan. Ursas was the first person to apply for Hal Jordan. However... RAMORE did reserve A Green Lantern before Ursas applied, So...

Are there any other Green Lantern Corps that either of you guys think you could play? After all... Hal Jordan isn't the only Green Lantern. There's Alan Scott, John Stewart, Guy Gardner, Kilowag, Jade, Kyle Rayner, ect.

Regarding reserved characters... I've thought about it... and have come to a conclusion. If you do not apply for the character you've reserved within two weeks without prior notice, the character is back up for grabs, just like active characters. JRK is exempt from this, because he's going to use Robin after his run with Joker is over, so that would count as prior notice. But two weeks is the limit, as of now. If you need more time, that's also considered prior notice, just so there isn't as much pressure.

Sorry I haven't gotten to these matters sooner. I've been off and on all day, with personal matters.

Basic History Of The Character: Carter Hall was Born is 1978. His father was an archeologist. The family lived all over the world as a result. Sometime around 1985 Carter’s father moved the family to Egypt because of a new assignment. During the excavation near the pyramids Carter’s father would bring him to the site. One even late at night a strange looking dagger was unearthed by one of the workers named James Rock. Carter asked his father if he could hold it. Upon handing it to the young boy he began speaking in tongues and fell into a trance like state. His father quickly grabbed the dagger and Carter never saw it again. Carter didn’t remember any of the incident but soon began having strange dreams of living a past life of tragedy. He also heard voices in a some odd language. This changed his behavior and lead to his being admitted to psychiatric facility at a young age. After years of drug therapy and mental conditioning Carter was let out. He tried to live as normal a life as one can after living in seclusion for 10 years. A young man now his father and mother had divorced, He choose to live with his mother in New York City. His mother had a job at Wall Street and was gone often. A few years went by and Carter graduated High school and was about to enter college at NYU when he saw a girl he felt compelled to meet walk by. He followed her to a modeling agency but soon lost track of her. Once there he described the girl to the receptionist and she couldn’t answer. She walked away and returned with another lady who took one look at Carter and asked him, “Do you have an Agent Honey?” That was the beginning of Carters “it” guy career. It lasted all the way to his rip old age of 26. Now 27 and living on his own he had tons of money in the bank and was at the tail end of his career. He never stopped thinking about the young woman that he followed to the agency. Would he ever see her again? Still some jobs were coming in but they were few and far between. One day a package arrived from someone name Vandal Savage. Carter opened it and unwrapped a beautiful, ornate dagger. It seemed familiar but he couldn’t place it. He touched the blade and a flood of images rushed to his brain. The dreams, voices, all of it came rushing back. Finally he was himself again and began packing. He called a cab and asked to be taking to JFK airport. Once there he got a one way ticket to Egypt. It wasn’t hard for Carter to find the right people to get him where he wanted to be once there. He looked up his father’s old friend James Rock. He was still overseeing a few expeditions in Egypt but none around the pyramids. No matter Carter payed the right people and he was on his way. Instinctively he was drawn to a certain pyramid. Once there he merely raised his hand and spoke in some ancient language. He was alone now and a stone in front of him slide to the side. Carter entered and began walking down a hall. Unbelievably it was lit and the way was clear. After a long walk downward it opened into a large hall. There in the hall were items that Carter was looking for. A harness with feathery wings attached. A helmet, some ancient looking weapons and a shield. A voice beckoned in the great hall…”Step for Carter Hall, the blood in you demands it. It is time for you to be reborn, you cannot escape your destiny!”

Well, Lobo and Superman left the scene before the cops or newscrews showed up. And, I'd think they're too far out of town for the newsteams to reach there any time soon. The fight's only been going on for a few minutes. Still, you could have CNN reporting a major fire outside of Metropolis and what looks like a terrorist atack in the city, but are unable to get close because of the flames. I'm trying to keep up an aura of mystery around Superman. Also, Lobo is still there. He can work his bike via voice comand.

Basic history of the character: Arturr, young prince of Atlantis, has just turned 20 years old. Big fanfare is made of his birthday, because now he has turned from a boy, and into a man. His father, King Orin, is very proud, as is Orm, Orin's older brother and right hand. Life seems perfect for young Arturr. That is, until Orm decides he can't take Orin's peaceful stance in regards to the "surface dwellers" mistreatment of the oceans, and kills Orin as Arturr secretly witnesses it. Desperate, Arturr knows he has no choice but to escape, and so he does. Now, in order to stay alive, Arturr has to live among the surface dwellers, until the time comes for him to exact his revenge and take back what is rightfully his. That time may be sooner than he might expect, because with Orm ruling over Atlantis, an attack on earth could come anytime.

What DoYyou Plan On Doing With This Character As A Person: Primarily, I want to show a desperate and scared young man, who has just lost everything he had. He is now is a completely strange place to him, surrounded by completely different people, and being completely alone. I want to show how Arturr's way of looking at humans change, as he slowly comes to connect with them. I want to be careful enough, though, as to not make him bitter and disilusioned because of what happened to him (read: I don't want him to become an Atlantean Batman). I want him to slowly build a new life for himself.

Well, Lobo attacked Metropolis, wherein he was fought by Conner Jones, Diana of Themyscira, and Superman. The battle quickly moved to the forest outside of Metropolis, which was set on fire by Lobo's bike. Lobo came close to killing Superman with the aid of some Kryptonite, but thanks to the help of Diana Superman survived and drove Lobo off, but not before Lobo could plant a nuclear bomb in the heart of Metropolis.

That's what's mostly been going on in the last few pages, with Batman spending his time constructing the Batcave.

Well for my part:

Barry was struck by lightning, while working on a serum to boost awareness and reaction time. It left him comatose, while he was supposed to be competing for a starting spot on the football team at KSU. He was comatose for three weeks and upon awakening found himself with super speed. He concealed this, from everyone but his best friend and used it to his advantage to become the pre-season Heisman favorite. In the first game he didn't control himself as good as he should have and wound up in China... :o After that he announced retirement from football, and the next day foiled a bank robbery as the Flash, and publically announced that he was going to be a super hero. Recently he found out his top speed is about 30,000 miles an hour less than light speed, and his best "friend" jealously and greedily tried to duplicate the accident. We'll see where that goes ;) oh and he put out the fire started by Lobo... AND DUKE LOST! :D

However, Barry went so fast he practically broke the speed of light, causing him to black out. Oddly enough, this was what Ed had planned on, the entire time. Taking him up to his room, He put Barry back, with Iris West, who was worried, naturally.

Back in the Themyscarian Land, Princess Diana was finally ready to venture out to man's world, under the acceptance of her mother. She was now an ambassador for the land.

In Gotham City, Dinah Lance was beginning investigations on the 'Batman' stories that had been popping up in recent tabloids. While, unfortunatley, dealing with tension regarding her mother, brother, and a certain future female vigilante by the name of Helena Bertinelli. The next day, She happened to pick up a tabloid about Billionaire Bruce Wayne, concerning his reported fling with Vicki Vale, and Barry Allen.

Back in Metropolis, Conner Kent was assigned to a new project: Assemble an elite team of heroes, called Project 'Young Justice'. Conner was hesitant, but, was forced into doing it eventually.

Meanwhile, Clark Kent and Lois Lane parted ways, to get lunch, after being denied a word with Lex Luthor.

Back in Gotham... Well, more importantly, Underneath Wayne Manor... Bruce Wayne and Alfred had discovered and set up the nessacary steps in beginning construction on The Batcave. Bruce now stores his costume and equipment down there, to keep from discovery at the Mansion.

At Central, Barry eventually woke up to Iris, and was now cleaned up of all blood from his accident, from going at light speed. Iris was now his PR manager. Speeding back to the labs, Barry came just in time to see Ed try and make himself a speedster, only to fail and be sent into a critical state. Barry zoomed him to the hospital.

Conner wasn't having luck, back in Metropolis. Two wannabes had approached him about joining Young Justice, but they were... well, wannabes.

Diana, in a remote area, had arrived in Man's world, and was on her way to Metropolis, in exploration.

At the Earth's atmosphere, Lobo had arrived. Infact, it took him little time to locate Kryptonian lifeforms... And within a short amount of time, he was in Metropolis, causing a scene in search of his prey, Superman. Conner, witnessing this, sprang into action as the two began battling. Diana, while on her exploration, also joined in going against Lobo. Clark, while getting lunch, eventually also joined the battle as Superman.

Lobo basically put a pounding on Diana, before Superman threw himself, and Lobo into a forrested area of Metropolis. The two continued battle there, away from civillians. Diana rejoined, soon after, and was knocked into the air by Lobo. Unfortunatley for Superman... Lobo brought something new into the battle... Kryptonite.

Weakened, Superman noticed it was affected Lobo aswell. At the same time, Lobo's bike had set the forest ablaze. Conner rejoined the fight, and began putting them out.

Back in Central, Barry saw this happening on the news, and came to Metropolis. With his speed, he put the rest of the fire out. Lobo, being stabbed with shards of the Kryptonite, retreated, but not before setting a bomb in the city. Superman found it and destroyed it, using his speed, Using bits of lead, Superman was also able to contain the radioactivity left from the Kryptonite.

Barry, being the only public superhero, offered to explain the situation to the media, to which Superman and Superboy agreed. Superboy left, while Superman began helping victims of Lobo's attack.

And finally, back in Gotham City, The Scarecrow has made a kill of an innocent bystander. Now, he's setting his sights on Vicki Vale... the woman of which has a date with Bruce Wayne, soon...

Character You Would Like To Play: Mr. Freeze

Basic History Of The Character: Victor Friez was a brilliant scientist. He was the youngest person to ever graduate from the University of Gotham with 2 PHDs one in molecular biology & chemical engineering. Despite the fact that he was always busy with 2 PHDs he did find time to fall in love with another scientist. A beautiful scitentist by the name of Nora Carlson who was one of the few people in the world that could distract Victor from his work and make him see the beauty around him. Once he and Nora graduated they both sought out jobs in the scientific community. Nora took a job teaching at Gotham Unviersity, while Victor realizing he didn't have the patience to be a teacher took the first job offered to him by Walker Industries. They weren't so much interested in his work as biologist, but rather his work in chemical engineering. They assigned him to the weapons division of the company to begin perfecting a new chemical weapon they had been working on for sometime. Although he prefered to dwell upon his pursuit of molecular biology studies he demonstrated great proficency in military weaponary. Then one day tragedy struck Nora was diagnosed with an agressive form of cancer. Victor continued to work on the chemical weapons for Walker Industries, but now he was also sneaking back into the company after hours to do cancer research and experiments. Victor had to move fast because time was running out for Nora very quickly. One of his methods would be to freeze the tumor and to study it. He was making progress on his experiments in freezing the tumor until one evening the head of the company Jon Walker caught him and had a security detail throw Victor out and confiscated his research and his experiments. With that Nora's death warrant was signed she died shortly after that. Victor was a broken man. He was blackballed thoughout the scientific community for conducting unauthorized and dangerous experiments, and the death of Nora sent him over the edge. He decided that if he couldn't have his work or his beloved Nora then life was not worth living. He managed to sneak back into Walker Industries and found a container of his freezing solution. Victor figured his death would quick and painless a syrenge full should be plenty to end his suffering. He injected himself and realized something the solution had been tampered with. Apparently the scientists at Walker industries decided to "tweak" his work somewhat, because they saw great potential in making a cooling serum that would allow soldiers to survive in extreme heat conditions. Needless to say it wasn't ready for human trials. Victor was great pain and suffering but he wasn't dying. When he woke up he saw that he was in Gotham General in a special tank. the doctors told him that his injecting himself with the solution had altered his body chemstry. He would forever have to live in the special tank that was made for him by Walker Industries for him to survive. He didn't want to survive who were people like Walker to decide if he lived or died or anyone else for that matter. Victor was ready to escape and just let the room temperature kill him. Then another thought occured to him Walker caused all of this and so now he had a new reason to live...REVENGE! Once he dealt with Walker then the rest of the scientific community would also pay for not recognizing his genuis. If anyone was not with him they were his enemy no matter who they were. Emotionally Victor was dead if there were any emotions at all they were hatred and anger. Victor began studying the tank he lived in. He then sketched out a suit that would allow him to live outside of the tank. Most of the parts he needed were right there in the tank with him and whatever he didn't have he could get from the hospital. He would complain periodically that the room wasn't cold enough for him and he would manipulate the readings so the staff would bring him other parts. Then one day his suit was finally ready. The suit was bulky and heavy but it also gave him triple the strength of a normal man. He did escape and went into hiding for months in the basement of an abaddoned meat packing plant. He was getting used to his new suit and plotting his revenge. One night he broke into Walker industries and stole not only new parts to upgrade his suit, enough chemicals to make the freezing solution to keep the suit running for decades, but more importantly a prototype gun. A gun that paralyze the victim, but Victor realized that the gun could be modified to feed off of his suit and it would encase the victim in ice killing them within minutes. Once Victor was satisfied with his new equipment he declared that Dr. Victor Friez was dead, and that a new man had emerged from those ashes a man named Mr. Freeze.

Three Reasons Why You Have Chosen That Character:

1. I don't think anyone has ever tried to play Mr. Freeze and I think it would be interesting to give it a try.

2. He has great potential of being more than just a guy with a gun in a cold suit, and I want to explore that.

3. It's a Batman villian and they are always interesting.

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character As A Person: To show that he is definetly more than (as Kyle Raynor once said), "The Loser in the tin-suit who gets slapped around by Batman on a regular basis." That this is a man who is living a very tortured life and revenge is his driving force.

Two Complete Sentances In Proper English Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player): 1) I bring a good understanding of what makes a good character (I heard my Daredevil, Lex Luthor & Captain Marvel were pretty good. Okay Darkseid wasn't so good but hey you can't win them all).
2) I enjoy playing with the people here and I think that comes across.

Character You Would Like To Play: Hawkman ( Carter Hall )

Basic History Of The Character: Carter Hall was Born is 1978. His father was an archeologist. The family lived all over the world as a result. Sometime around 1985 Carter’s father moved the family to Egypt because of a new assignment. During the excavation near the pyramids Carter’s father would bring him to the site. One even late at night a strange looking dagger was unearthed by one of the workers named James Rock. Carter asked his father if he could hold it. Upon handing it to the young boy he began speaking in tongues and fell into a trance like state. His father quickly grabbed the dagger and Carter never saw it again. Carter didn’t remember any of the incident but soon began having strange dreams of living a past life of tragedy. He also heard voices in a some odd language. This changed his behavior and lead to his being admitted to psychiatric facility at a young age. After years of drug therapy and mental conditioning Carter was let out. He tried to live as normal a life as one can after living in seclusion for 10 years. A young man now his father and mother had divorced, He choose to live with his mother in New York City. His mother had a job at Wall Street and was gone often. A few years went by and Carter graduated High school and was about to enter college at NYU when he saw a girl he felt compelled to meet walk by. He followed her to a modeling agency but soon lost track of her. Once there he described the girl to the receptionist and she couldn’t answer. She walked away and returned with another lady who took one look at Carter and asked him, “Do you have an Agent Honey?” That was the beginning of Carters “it” guy career. It lasted all the way to his rip old age of 26. Now 27 and living on his own he had tons of money in the bank and was at the tail end of his career. He never stopped thinking about the young woman that he followed to the agency. Would he ever see her again? Still some jobs were coming in but they were few and far between. One day a package arrived from someone name Vandal Savage. Carter opened it and unwrapped a beautiful, ornate dagger. It seemed familiar but he couldn’t place it. He touched the blade and a flood of images rushed to his brain. The dreams, voices, all of it came rushing back. Finally he was himself again and began packing. He called a cab and asked to be taking to JFK airport. Once there he got a one way ticket to Egypt. It wasn’t hard for Carter to find the right people to get him where he wanted to be once there. He looked up his father’s old friend James Rock. He was still overseeing a few expeditions in Egypt but none around the pyramids. No matter Carter payed the right people and he was on his way. Instinctively he was drawn to a certain pyramid. Once there he merely raised his hand and spoke in some ancient language. He was alone now and a stone in front of him slide to the side. Carter entered and began walking down a hall. Unbelievably it was lit and the way was clear. After a long walk downward it opened into a large hall. There in the hall were items that Carter was looking for. A harness with feathery wings attached. A helmet, some ancient looking weapons and a shield. A voice beckoned in the great hall…”Step for Carter Hall, the blood in you demands it. It is time for you to be reborn, you cannot escape your destiny!”

Thanks...I had thought about doing a little more on the backstory in a couple of posts...but the more I thought about it the more I thought, "oh just get to the good parts already." Kind of like "Episode III" when people were starting to grumble, "Just put him in the suit already."

As awesome as Bat-villains are, they get entirely too much representation in the RPGs. Let's see a Toyman or Prankster or Captain Cold or Ocean master or Gorilla Grodd or SOMEOBDY that can do more than screw around with Batman.

Ultimate Aquaman
Description: Well at long last I've finally finished this pic! It wasn't trribly difficult, just a lack of free time on my part. This is probably my least favorite of the series, but he deserves his place in the group. (He does rule over 2/3rds of the planet after all!)
I obviously changed his abilities somewhat. I figure an "Aquaman" should be able to become/control water, not just live in it! -Leif.

Ultimate Atom.
Description: Finally had time to finish this, the last addition to the series. I was going for a sort of tech/"Tron" look to the suit. The white lines on the suit carry the energy of the whihe-dwarf star fragment in his belt to the rest of his body, and they glow when he shrinks. (that's my excuse, but it looks frickin cool!) I figure he's the ultimate infiltrator, whether it be medically or espionage-related. I gave him a "rebreather" and face mask 'cause you don't want to be leaving little air bubbles in peoples blood. Also figured he could use a jet-pack pretty efficently since he can alter his mass. (Great milage!) Finished it off w/ wrist gauntlets, one is a ray to shrink other objects, the other a high intensity laser. Peace! -Leif.

Description: Yeah, so the obsession continues. Do the rest of you guys/gals get like this? I'm on some down time from work lately (I work outside), so I sketched out all the JLA re-makes. Now it's just a matter of getting them all digitized!

Anyway...Bats has a pretty classic look. I added the goggles (night vision) and some pads/armor/helmet. (Just seemed to make sense) I'm sure a lot of these things have been drawn before, but you take your inspiration where you find it! -Leif.

Sue me. ;-P Anyway, I tried to look at the Corps (yes, they still exist in my little world) as State-Troopers in space. Description: So continuing my Ulti-verse, This version of The Martian Manhunter is somewhat reclusive. He can shape-shift, but with considerable effort, also he is not as physically powerful. (Don't need two Supermen!) He remains in his natural form most of the time, thus his reclusive nature. I see him as more of a behind the scenes kind of character. I wanted to keep some of the original feel, but give him a more alien look. P.S. My wife designed the arm-band! -Leif.

Description: This is my take on Kal-El in the "Ultimate" format. In my version he is truly the "stranger from another world". Not entirely trusted, and certainly not the icon he is in the stantard universe. Thus I wanted his uniform to be somewhat alien and very simple, but reckognizable. (I know it's shiny, It's SUPPOSED to be shiny!! ;-) I see him as a being of great internal conflict. A heartbeat away from either saving the world (against itself if neccesary) or dominating it w/ a fist of steel. (okay, time to double my dosage...thinking too much...) -Leif.

hey guys. while i expect to be shot down, i'm just cheking in to see if batman decided how he was going to play green arrow? did he pick roy or ollie?

cos, well my net issues are about to become history. so i would like to come back to the rpging on these boards (which is second to none btw), BUT considering how i've buggered about previously, IF i get accepted back, i'm going to stick with the one rpg and not spread myself thin.

and this rpg seems the best, as i could start a new character, and keep it constant. but, yeah, i get if Q and the other GM's don't want me onboard. i did bail pretty much twice without for warning (and in one case, i mucked up the one world rpg... which i'm sorry about btw guys!). i didn't actually know before hand myself, but no excuse.

anyway, enough of me apologising, if you could let me know if there is any point putting an application in, and if there is which character batman chose (if you know that is) it's be appreciated.

p.s. this is a AWESOME set up. and Q, the JLA scenario you suggested... well i just hate that you're better with ideas than me :( (and thats not sucking up, just true :p)

Batman hasn't decided whether he's going to participate or not yet. All I know is that the Green Arrow character, whether it be Ollie or Roy, is reserved for him at this point in time.

And I see no real problems with you joining. Especially since you're not going to spread yourself thin... unike... er... some of us. :o (Me. :( )

It's going to be Roy, I'm already playing Ollie in the World of Heroes RPG and I have tons of stories planned out for him there. I think it would be interesting to have Roy on the mantle for this particular universe, so I'm going to explore the character more. And yes, I'm playing. My application will be up later tonight.

Basic History Of The Character:

Ultimate Captain Marvel

Freddy Freeman was condemned to the streets as a young boy. His parents were murdered by an unknown assailant, and Freddy refused to stay with the family that had taken him in. He ran away.
While on the streets, Freddy was attacked while trying to stop a young girl from being raped. Beaten, his spine was snapped, and he was paralysed and left for dead.
As Freddy waited for death to take him, an old man appeared. Dressed in a long tan duster, and with a beard down to his navel, the man identified himself as Mr. Shazam.
He told the boy not to worry, that his bravery had earned him a reward from the gods them selves; he would be imbued with the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the stamina of Atlas, the power of Zeus, the courage of Achilles, and the speed of Mercury. Most importantly, he would be an avatar on this planet. A symbol for justice, his personal representative in the dark times to follow. He would be the worlds Mightiest Mortal. All he had to do was say the old man's name.
Freddy muttered the word Shazam, and was instantly healed. Transformed, he was much more toned, and wearing a dark crimons suit, with a blue cape and a yellow lightning bolt on the chest.
Freddy was shocked, astounded. This was incredible. Mr. Shazam offered that it was a marvel, perhaps the most capital of marvels. Freddy, being a wise ass, dubbed himself the Captain of Marvels. Mr. Shazam substituted this for for the much easier Captain Marvel.
Freddy followed the old man to his sanctuary, a rock of the ages, where he learned that Mr. Shazam was the keeper of the seven deadly sins. He held them at bay, in an effort to make ‘this crummy world more bearable’. Freddy would be the symbol the people would rally behind. He would inspire the public, and hopefully save them from themselves.
As such, Captain Marvel is a public figure. He is known to the world, who can’t understand how he performs the feats that he does.
Shazam, as a side charcter, is played more like a annoyed senior citezen. He doesn't act like a centuries old wizard, but more like someone stuck with an endless job.

Three Reasons Why You Have Chosen That Character:

1. I thought it would be fun to play him

2. I can make Freddy the real Captain Marvel, which is something you couldn't do in other RPG's

3. He doesn't appear a grown man, so he has the problems of being the powerfullest mortal in the world, while still being a teenager physically

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character As A Person: I plan on showing him as a public hero, as someone who can't deal with the pressures, and who might be easily led down the wrong paths...

Two Complete Sentances In Proper English Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player): I can bring a sense of reality to what is nominally a unreal character. I can also play on the fact that as he is young, his interpretations of right and wrong may be different from the other heroes.

OK I had a good idea for an Ultimate character that I would like to use, but I don't think it would work right now, but if you could keep it reserved for me until the time it could be usefull that would be awesome!

Ultimate General Zod. I will have to read your stuff in the IC thread before I can acurately describe his back story, but i belive I could play him well. It would give Superman some realy bad issues to deal with, having someone just as powerfull as him in every way, but completly bent on domination and destruction. As for a costume idea, maybe the symbol on Superman's chest is that of Jor-El's political party on Krypton which stands for truth, justice and the.....er....kryptonian way?....., and if you reverse the symbol it is for Zod's political party who were bound to conqure krypton and all other powerfull planets. Just one of many ideas I have circulating in my brain, but once I read all that you have in the IC thread, I will post my final ideas.

If he's completely public and goes on talkshows and the like, that makes him a person. Someone the people can ignore or make fun of or do parodies of on SNL. If he's a mythic figure, he's a symbol. Something to aspire to. Also, Clark seems like someone who would not like the spotlight at all, so I doesn't make much sense to me that he would willingly be that public. Basically, I'm trying to show that he wants to be just like everyone else, so he keeps Superman to the realm of the tabloids so his privacy isn't intruded upon. Besides, if he were that public, the government would take him down so fast it isn't even funny, and he knows this.

That sounds realy cool, and makes alot of sense. Suprising you don't see that in to many Superman comics.

So what did you think of my ideas for Zod? Like them, hate them? Do I get an ok on the reservation?

Well, my idea for the \S/ symbol is that it's like Krypton's flag. So Zod would have it on his uniform too. However, the colors would be different. Zod is a military officer, so his would be silver and black. Also, my idea is that Kryptonians actually have noticable physical differences from humans. It's just that Kal-El's ship altered him cosmetically so he would blend in. Zod, on the other hand, would look alien.

Well, first off, they naturally have a skin tone akin to an albino. Clark white. Second, they evolved from avian mamals similar in many ways to bats. They would naturally be rather lanky, and under their arms there would be flaps of skin which are what is left from their now vistigial wings. They're ears would be quite large and pointed, and their eyes would be larger than human eyes.

To aid their flight in the high gravity and thin atmosphere of Krypton, Kryptonians evolved organs that enable them to manipulate the pull of gravity on them through a form of electromegnetism. As the evolved further, this organ became more or less vistigial, along with the wings. However, on Earth, do to the solar super charge, Kryptonians can fly at super sonic speeds, wings or no.
