Mine are stretched a bit because we added siblings to Dinah..I like it because it changes up her character a whole lot. While she's still the msae in essense she's got two brothers that shift between almost over protective and teasing her mercilessly.

Nope. We've made it a rule as to only having one character. While I've tried the two character thing in the past, I am personally against it.

I wouldn't be opposed to it... we need more characters, and we're not getting very many new members. But this is a very GM oriented RPG, so it's really up to all of us, not just me.

I myself wouldn't take one. I'm Batman, and that's really all I want to be.

I have been thinking about coming back into this RPG. I can only afford to be in one RPG right now, but this one seems to go a little slow, yet still mantain a good quality factor. Is the Joker still reserved? If so, what is the state of Zatara or Zantanna?

We've yet to have a Zatanna. I was thinking of using her as an NPC way down the line, but her backstory doesn't really matter much to my plans.

Ok, I was thinking that I would switch somethings up and have Zantanna be a middle aged woman, kind of crazy, who had a son, Zatara II, at a young age. He is a teenager with similar powers and such. I am also considering having him age himself. If I do this, which I am not sure if I will (have to see how things go), this and Marvel would be my two RPGs.

Maybe. Still, I see Zatana as being the 40 something MILF. Maybe one of Zatara the second's issues is that when he was in high school, all of his friends were fantasizing about his mom.

Maybe. Doesn't matter too much. Way I see it, have John be in his early 40s, Zee in her mid 40s, and Zatara the second in his early 20s. Zatara is a wannabe pseudo goth who uses his powers for personal gain and has major issues with his father ofr not being there and his mother because she's simply way too damn hot to be a mom, which caused problems for him in high school (and even now), with his friends constantly hitting on his mom.

Yeah, that is similar to how I invision it. Now that he is older, he used his powers to get himself a butt load of money. He has a harem of girls and boys following him around, waiting on him, doing what he says, and pleasuring him. He isn't a villian or a hero. He is there for himself and whatever else can help him. He hates his dad because he doesn't even know he has a son and he is inbetween love and hate with his mother. She is the type that would seduce his friends and such.

There haven't been many. Infact, I think the only one aside from Lex Luthor was John Corben, who was a dirty cop in Gotham City. Watchman played him for a time, but eventually dropped him for Mirror Master, I think. He hasn't become Metallo yet.

Lex hosted a yacht gala earlier on in the season, that was disrupted by a thug in a battlesuit. Superman managed to beat him, prompting a meeting between the two later on. Lex also squared off with Black Adam ontop of Lexcorp, and is now at Bruce Wayne's gala in Gotham City.

Also, I don't know if you consider Lobo as one of Superman's villians, but he came to earth earlier on in the season as played by LibrarianThorne, hunting for the last living kryptonian. He ended up fighting Superman, Superboy, and Wonder Woman before rocketing off. I think he may have exposed Superman to the first remnants of kryptonite aswell.

Zod may not count, as his posts have all taken place in the past, before Krypton's destruction.

I think that's it.

Character You Would Like To Play: Blackrock/Dr. Peter Silverstone

Basic History Of The Character:
Peter Silverstone was a family man; he had a wife, a son, a great job, and a great life. He was the technical engineer in charge of hardware research and development for a major media outlet. Peter discovered a means to tap into broadcast television, phone, radio, internet, and satellite signals, and convert the signals into usable forms of energy to be manipulated as he saw fit. The source of this comes from an alien artifact that found its way into Peter's lab. The artifact resembles a polished black stone, which acts as a battery and amplifier, storing and refining the energy is receives. Becoming fascinated and inspired by Superman in the news, Silverstone decided to use the stone to fight crime. Fashioning himself a costume with the artifact incorporated inside of it, Peter took on the name Blackrock. However, as good as his intentions were, the permanent effects of the stone on Peter's mind and body became apparent: The rush of media broadcasts traveling through his brain eventually drove Blackrock insane, causing an intense hatred for Superman because his name was most prominently scrolling through Silverstone's mind.

Blackrock's abilities include - flight, invulnerability, super strength, virtually limitless stamina, enhanced speed and reflexes, able to erect force fields around himself and others, can project intense blasts of concentrated energy from his body, able to hear and see broadcasts from around the world inside his head, and he can transport himself through a satellite signal.

Three Reasons Why You Have Chosen That Character:

1. I feel that the character has been treated quite poorly in the mainstream comics lately, and I want to see if I can give the name some respectability.

2. He has an awesome assortment of abilities that I want to explore.

3. He's a Superman villain that I haven't really tried my hand at, and I want to try branching out.

Character You Would Like To Play: Blackrock/Dr. Peter Silverstone

Basic History Of The Character:
Peter Silverstone was a family man; he had a wife, a son, a great job, and a great life. He was the technical engineer in charge of hardware research and development for a major media outlet. Peter discovered a means to tap into broadcast television, phone, radio, internet, and satellite signals, and convert the signals into usable forms of energy to be manipulated as he saw fit. The source of this comes from an alien artifact that found its way into Peter's lab. The artifact resembles a polished black stone, which acts as a battery and amplifier, storing and refining the energy is receives. Becoming fascinated and inspired by Superman in the news, Silverstone decided to use the stone to fight crime. Fashioning himself a costume with the artifact incorporated inside of it, Peter took on the name Blackrock. However, as good as his intentions were, the permanent effects of the stone on Peter's mind and body became apparent: The rush of media broadcasts traveling through his brain eventually drove Blackrock insane, causing an intense hatred for Superman because his name was most prominently scrolling through Silverstone's mind.

Blackrock's abilities include - flight, invulnerability, super strength, virtually limitless stamina, enhanced speed and reflexes, able to erect force fields around himself and others, can project intense blasts of concentrated energy from his body, able to hear and see broadcasts from around the world inside his head, and he can transport himself through a satellite signal.

Basic History Of The Character:

Garth was but a child when his mother’s plane went down in a freak accident above the Bermuda Triangle. He was raised by his step-father Tom Curry, and officially adopted after the accident that took his mom. Garth remembered something that he only told his step-father. Something about a weird sea creature attacking the downed plane. As he grew up, he had a supernatural connection to the water, and was very active, legally and illegally in protecting the rights of the ocean and its inhabitants. He would free captive sea animals and beat the hell out of poaching fishers keeping endangered fish as trophies. As his job he was a dive instructor, and also found he had an almost super speed when it came to swimming. One night at the bar owned by his boss, an old man referenced his mom’s plane crash, and the fact that there might be more too it. That same night, he connected with a woman who shared his love for the creatures of the sea and loathing for the ones that did them needless harm. As they went skinny dipping she transformed into the same weird creature that had been there the day his mom had died. Her attack on him was stopped by the old man, who harpooned the woman through the arm. He went to tell Garth that he was in fact an heir to the throne of Atlantis, and that it was his mission to make sure that Garth stayed safe. Though he was disbelieving at first, the old man struck a nerve with Garth by calling him by the name Orin as he walked away. That same name his mother had called him right before she died. The old man finally introduces himself as McCaffery and explains that Garth’s mother had seen foreshadowing of what was to come in Atlantis and had fled with the young Garth to the surface. He also explained that Garth was the youngest of three brothers, Orm, Arturr, and Orin, but was renamed Garth for the surface world. Orm had overthrown and murdered his father, King Orin from whom Garth had been named. People in Atlantis had thought that Arturr had also been murdered. And people had believed Atlanna and Orin to have died when they had disappeared many years before. That was until recently when Garth had saved a Navy pilot near the secret entrance to Atlantis and the charm on his necklace had begun to open the pathway. This alerted Orm’s guards that at least one Atlantean still lived. As such he had sent the Siren out to capture the survivor and bring them back for execution.

Three Reasons Why You Have Chosen That Character:

1. Aquaman is an all too frequently laughed at and underrated character. Any DC fan worth their salt knows he’s more than just “the guy who talks to fish” and definitely deserves respect.

2. I have to admit, I’m a huge closet Aquaman fan. The guy is full of badass moments waiting to happen. Hell he took down J’onn on his own.

3. I really liked a lot of the ideas the proposed TV show offered, and as such would like to play them out, being as we may never get to see them onscreen sadly.

I plan on expanding somewhat on the posts that JackBauer had as Arturr, and developing Garth into the new king of Atlantis once he takes down his older brother.

I have a question; because Aquaman/"Arturr" Curry was already established in the RPG, but his player doesn't seem to be playing him anymore, how does that effect someone else who wants to approach to role, but has different ideas for the origin, as we see here?

Or do we just pull a Geoff Johns and say that Superboy punched reality?

As the woman looked down at the ten year old boy next to her, the instrument panel on the plane started going haywire. She looked back up and saw a tunnel of blue electricity extending from the ocean up to the sky. She fingered the pendant around her neck, and muttered.

“S**t… s**t… s**t…”


“What’s wrong, Mom?”

The little boy looked at his mom and then at the blue light, and got a fearful look in his eyes.

“Its gonna be alright, Garth. Mommy just got reckless and forgot where she was.”

She desperately yanked the yoke to the right trying to avoid the column of energy and the plane barrel spun out of control, with its left wing clipping the electric field. As the plane hurtled towards the water, she pulled back on the yoke as hard as she could to somewhat slow their descent. The plane smashed into the water, and began to sink. She frantically unbuckled Garth first, and then herself. As water began to fill the cockpit, she pulled her necklace off and handed it to him. “There is so much I still have to tell you, Orin, but go. Now, someone else can reveal you future for you, make certain its worth something.” There was a beating on the glass window of the cockpit, and Garth saw what looked to be a large human like snake. Unable to comprehend all of this, including why his mother called him Orin, Garth just nodded and took the necklace. His mother kicked the cockpit door out for him to swim to the surface and turned back to face the creature as it burst through the glass.


Now, Key Largo, Florida:


Garth awoke in a cold sweat to the familiar sway of his boat. It had been eight years since that day, and the images were still vivid in his mind, and the questions still lingered.

What the hell was that thing? Why did mom call me Orin?


Garth jumped as he heard a pounding on his door.

“Hold on, hold on, I’m coming.” I didn’t forget any dive appointments did I?

He opened the door and was shocked to see a police officer there.


“Sup, Paul?”


“It’s Officer Norris when I’m on duty Garth… you had a busy night last night didn’t you?”


“Jeez man, I graduated with you… lighten up.”


“Yeah, and you haven’t done much of note since then, have you? Other than breaking into OceanLand and setting six of their dolphins free, I mean.”


“The hell are you talking about?”


“These pictures taken by the security cameras say all I need to Garth, you’re under arrest for breaking and entering and reckless animal endangerment. At least wear a mask next time, Garth.”


The pictures showed Garth from the previous night, at the OceanLand complex. Garth stopped resisting and allowed himself to be cuffed.

Character You Would Like To Play: The Question

Basic History Of The Character:Brutally raised in an orphanage on the streets of the corrupt Hub City, Charles Victor Szsasz took the alias of Vic Sage and became a crusading television journalist, dedicated to getting answers to deemed ‘unanswerable’ questions raised by the public. But due to his crackpot theories and abnoxious nature, He was looked down upon by his peers. During an investigation on a corrupt Doctor, Sage was approached by his former professor, and warned that the doctor was illegally distributing a chemical that would act as a skin-toned vaporized bandage. However, due to it’s unpredicted toxic nature when applied to open wounds, it was rejected for legal distribution. Knowing that the toxin could lead to the deaths of many innocent lives, Sage took some of it for himself and applied it to his own skin, masking his features and aiding him in preventing the operation from occurance. Deciding to keep his faceless identity and use it to fight the corruption in Hub City in ways that his TV reporter persona couldn’t, Vic became a ghostly detective and crimefighter known only as “The Question”.

Having no superpowers or metahuman attributes, The Question (Or “Q”, as he’s nicknamed) is a brilliant detective and theorist, aswell as an accomplished hand-to-hand combatant due to training under Richard Dragon.

Three Reasons Why You Have Chosen That Character:

1.The character has always intrigued me. He’s a challenging character to write, depending on the interpretation… But that makes him all the more interesting.

2. When all’s said and done,I’m an outsider to him. While I know a lot of important facts and tidbits about his origin aswell as his overall personality, I haven’t read many comics featuring him at all. But I think this could actually be a good thing, since it could help in “Ultimizing” the character for this particular premise. And it could allow me to start fresh while hopefully being faithful to the things that make him a good character.

3. Dude. Faceless fedora wearing trenchcoat detective. That practically screams badass.

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character As A Person:I want to build him up from the beginning, showing his struggles with both his theories and bringing down the corruption in Hub before he actually dons the Pseudoderm. Then when he does, show what the mental image of a man with no face can instill into the criminal element.

Having no superpowers or metahuman attributes, The Question (Or “Q”, as he’s nicknamed) is a brilliant detective and theorist, aswell as an accomplished hand-to-hand combatant due to training under Richard Dragon.

Three Reasons Why You Have Chosen That Character:

1.The character has always intrigued me. He’s a challenging character to write, depending on the interpretation… But that makes him all the more interesting.

2. When all’s said and done,I’m an outsider to him. While I know a lot of important facts and tidbits about his origin aswell as his overall personality, I haven’t read many comics featuring him at all. But I think this could actually be a good thing, since it could help in “Ultimizing” the character for this particular premise. And it could allow me to start fresh while hopefully being faithful to the things that make him a good character.

3. Dude. Faceless fedora wearing trenchcoat detective. That practically screams badass.

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character As A Person:I want to build him up from the beginning, showing his struggles with both his theories and bringing down the corruption in Hub before he actually dons the Pseudoderm. Then when he does, show what the mental image of a man with no face can instill into the criminal element.

Two Complete Sentances In Proper English Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player):I’m an experienced fiction writer, but my name has never been associated with any of the RPG’s here. I hope with Vic/Q’s story, I can both possibly change that while have fun in trying to reinvent a character that I’ve felt has always been vastly underrated.

Maybe you should make up the back story yourself? Give him your own personal spin as opposed to making him exactly like his original comic book version.

Like how about playing up the mystery of the blank face mask. Have him interact with other characters, make them think that the Question is somebody they know. Then when you're ready you could go for the big reveal. You can either have him be someone that one of the heroes knows, or you could just reveal the Question to be Vic Sage. Just some guy, with a lot of info on the personal lives of the other characters.

I'm not trying to tell you what to do, on the contrary, I'm telling you to do your own thing.

Not exactly what I had in mind, but pretty good. Way I invisioned Ultimate Captain Atom, his only inherent super power is that his body gives of massive amounts of heat and radiation. This makes it lethal for normal people to be around him, so he wears a containment suit to protect others. The suit is powered by the energy he generates, and aswell as sheilding others from radiation, it boosts his strength to Superman like levels and allows him to fly. He can also release the energy from his suit in focused blasts of intense heat. This version has his powers being an accident.


Another version has his powers not being an accident, but instead part of an experiment to turn a human being into a living nuclear reactor. His body produces vast amounts of heat and radiation, and to help contain it his cellular structure is made vastly more dense, giving him his super strength and invlunerability.


Doesn't matter really, but those were my ideas.

Interestingly enough, I could not find a single aspect in the design options that was exactly how I wanted Blackrock's costume to be. So his gauntlets, boots, mask, cape, and the patches of purple on his sides are all different (but close, I admit) to how they should be. The only things that are how I want them are the color scheme of his costume and energy. :o

Oh. Thanks. As I said, the way it works is that he has the standard mask (although the ears are more in the vein of Bob Kane), and he also wears white contact lenses, black face paint, and false fangs to give him a more monsterious apearence. The costume's all black, inclufing the belt, and lacking a symbol. Thus, in the shadows, he looks more like a monster than a man. I added some grey outlines on my model simply so he wouldn't look like a black blob.

All you really need is some form of image editing software (personally, I use Photoshop Elements for all of my work) with a crop tool, and then save it once you're done modifying it how you like it, and then upload it to an online host (again, I personally use Imageshack.us, but that's being stupid lately, and yet I keep using it).

That's really all there is to it.
