An exterior shoot is taking place on Thursday (23rd) and from Monday to Thursday (30th) in Los Angeles.

Okay, let's see if I can end this speculation about the "fireball".

A "fireball" in Hollywood jargon is just an explosion, like this one:

I'm hoping for the asteroid to earth scenario personally. There's alot of room for error in introducing the symbiote IMO. As lame as the whole gumball from the machine in Secret Wars was, the cartoon portrayal was pretty dang good :up:, but I wouldn't look for an exact copy of that either. I think we'll get something new.

It's not further "speculation" in the sense that I'm making something up out of nowhere that could possibly connect to what the document is talking about. A "fireball" is a very common special effect in Hollywood action movies.


For the biggest bang for the movie production company's buck they want a explosion with a huge fireball & the most common special effect fireball used is a mix of black powder & naphthalene flakes (Ground up mothballs) loaded in a pyrotechnic mortar.

Yep, BIG if my friend. At this point its looking possible (towards the end), but not definate by any stretch. The only thing we no for "sure" is the symbiote is coming (unless they're totally screwing with us. :mad: )

I think/hope it will be "from space" if they really want to convey the otherwordly creepiness of it and be somewhat faithful to the source material. But it also could also be studied in the lab and be somewhat of a combination of your scenerio.

You can trust me, I was recently on the set of SM-3 and there was a BBQ being hosted by John Jameson, the scene involved a pig being roasted over an open fire and suddenly Harry as the Goblin comes flying in on his glider no less, he stole the pig by throwing a grappling hook at it and flew off. But it knocked over the BBQ which was by a tank of gasolie, which was open and KA-BOOM. The whole ****ing place went up and Rami shouted "cut!, good job everyone!"

The next scene consisted of Harry flying away and Peter chasing after him, the symbiote which is ALIEN IN ORIGIN flows over Peter changing him into his black costume and off he jumps, swinging after Harry. No less Eddie Brock (Topher Grace) is right behind driving a beat up 79 cuda, clicking photos. Suddenly the sandman gets sand everywhere ruining everyones day and Eddie Brock is pissed. Sam shouted cut again and said coffee, I told him that these scenes would be down-right awesome on screen, he nodded and said "I know v4l, it's crazy huh?"

The rest of the crew was there, even Avi Ara told me that the villains are Sandman, GG2 and at the end the symbiote fuses with Eddie Brock. And he know's I visit this site, he told me to share it with everyone here. I agreed and I got a free coffee and a bunch of donuts, and even some merchandise, of course it's too early for SM-3 stuff, so they gave me SM-2 stuff, a bit of a rip-off but beggers can't be choosers. This is the straight truth, no word of lies at all. In fact, i'm going back tommorrow, they said they needed some assistance.

UPDATE!
Ericrichardson from blogdowntown.com has promised to keep Spidey fans updated of the goings at the set.:) He's already taken some pics one of which Turd McFurden already brought to our attention.

At the moment it appears they are only prepping the set for a 4 day shoot starting monday. These new pics were taken on March 24, 2006.

Spiderman Still Making His Downtown Rounds

Spiderman 3 filming has been making the rounds of Downtown, shooting at the Alexandria way back in November and then in the Old Bank District last month. Now they're coming to the ever-filmed alley between Spring and Broadway, 6th and 7th. In fact it would appear they've got people on the roof of the Palace right now.

Back in December the location manager I talked to about lights shining in my window had warned me the Spiderman people were snooping around, so I guess it shouldn't be a big surprise.

I'm sort of intrigued by the fireball part.

Since this post's getting a bunch of traffic from Spiderman fans, I'll keep posting updates here. First up, a shot this morning of a lighting rig being assembled on the roof across from the apartment:

They've taken over three parking lots for the big equipment. The filming notice said they would be on the north end of the alley (which will be to the right in my pictures), but they have wiring run up the garage across 7th Street on the south end so I figure there must be some sort of a moving shot heading down that direction.

First shot shows a crane setting up rigging for the suspended device in the center of the second shot. I'm not sure what the thing in the second shot is. It doesn't seem like a camera rig. It actually got me wondering... Do they run something through the shots that they CGI spiderman into for tracking? Maybe I'm way off on that, though.

I wonder what the rigging is that's going on here, presumably they are testing the wires to see if they are camera-ready, I don't know much about film production but it would make sense to set up a dummy rig firstly to see if it fits and it everything's in working order, then you attach the expensive camera, no?

The explosion/fire ball intrigues me even more, maybe it will be a pumpkin bomb after all...

Nothing new over the weekend. Spiderman took a back seat to huge protests. I did take some shots of another non-Spiderman shoot on 7th Street. Crews were back in the alley this morning, so I would suspect there will be more interesting things to see this evening and in the morning. Then shooting occurs tomorrow and Wednesday.

Monday, 10:30pm
Lots of stuff happening in the alley tonight. I'm just sitting down to watch TV when all of a sudden a suspended camera appears right outside the window.

I think they may just be testing shots before running the real thing (whatever the real thing is). They're running a variety of speeds, probably to see how they look on camera.

Even after it's been by a few times, it's really weird to see a dummy run by about six feet outside your window.

I think they're making sure the wires don't pop when the real actor or stuntman turns up on set to do his thing.

The filming letter said something about dialouge, stunts and firebombs.So...

spiderman 3

today i had a meeting at sony pictures studios in los angeles. we got to see the set for spiderman 3. the guys i was meeting with are doing all the stunt coordination for the film. i also met the guys who actually wear the spiderman suit that you see in the film. lemme tell ya, this set was huge. i got to see some of the inside looks at the movie. they had this huge building that was built to crash to pieces. also i got to see a secret lair that will be revealed on the movie. it was very cool to get the inside scoop on everything. this spiderman film is full of big stunts. it should be a great movie.

Yes, it did indeed. The shooting schedule for Spider-Man 2 leaked online for about briefly before SONY had it removed. It revealed that both Cliff Robertson and Willem Dafoe were due to be on set for one day each.

If Ben Parker is back for a another dream sequence then i'd imagine Norman would be as well.

Question: Do any of you guys believe the Dark Horizon's "summary" to be pretty much true?
ive re read the Q&A and all that stuff pretty much relates to ALL of the pictures so far, so i belive that

I haven`t read the DH synnopsis yet, i`ll check it out now...

DH is vague really but i will wait for more photos (and the trailer) to judge

Yeah the person taking the photos, probs really works for sony and has crystal clear pictures for brick walls and giant balloons but not for actors! :D

I can't really make out a thing from any of those pics. It looks like in the pic with the guy(GG2 or Spidey) lying down that there is another guy in the pic with a suit on wholooks like he's stumbling. Anybody else see that?

Another thing to ponder over, this shoot is at night, and im sure the bank was shot at night as well wasn`t it? So does that mean we wont see black spidey in day light?

Right you are Frenzy, about the something going to be released or fan thing. The ballon couldn't be lighting, they could use light for lighting. It looks to complicated for lighting purposes.

This close up shows the nature of the fabric covered balloons which are held aloft by about £200 worth of Helium. They are easy to move around at their working height, a bit like walking a sky born dog! Each of the two light sources that you see here are comprised of four 1Kwatt bubbles in a star formation.

Here are two of the four currently in use on this huge composite Victorian street set designed by Haydn Pearce. Rory Taylor is the lighting cameraman who chose to use the balloons, partly because of severe restraints on power and hire costs

Yup, me two, I'm still wondering how he might look. There was a site (I won't say where) that a guy tried to make it look like SPAWN was Venom. But obviously it sucked.
