I think it would work better as a fan film. Or possibly a stand alone movie that's not part of either current franchise.

Yes, definitly. But they should wait until both trilogies are complete.

I voted no, because if they did make it, there will be a 99% chance it will be absolute crap. I didn't think it was possible, but Hollywood found a way to screw up Alien Vs. Predator. I have no faith when it comes to ideas like this.

I see what you're saying, but I think that this time they wouldn't put Hollywood's own special needs director in charge.

HA HA! I'm not a real fan of Anderson's work (the exception being Event Horizon, which scares the **** out of me). I'm well aware that Petersen was attached, and I do like his stuff significantly, but if WB is spending all their time these days greenlighting/developing superhero movies (Supes, WW, Flash, Batman, etc) then why not develop these films individually and concentrate on making them quality. THEN, finish all of them off with a Justice League movie. I wouldn't want to see a wasted opportunity like that. I mean, imagine if they had even a portion of the creative teams (Goyer, Whedon, Harris, Dougherty) penning a script in cahoots with one another? They'd make a movie so dorkishly brilliant, I'd probably have a seizure of nerd ecstasy upon my initial viewing. In summary, I wouldn't waste the opportunity on a crossover film, unless it was a properly done JLA picture. It'd cost a lot, but it would be the fanboy movie to end all fanboy movies. Period.

Yes. Writing-wise theres so much awesome stuff you could do with these characters, they contrast each other like opposite points of a spectrum.

They should do this movie after Batman and Superman both have 2 movies under their belts... this will rake in some major dough and probably pull in stronger revenues for later movies in the individual franchaises due to the interest generated.

Well considering there IS a Superman vs. Batman script written by Andrew Kevin Walker ( i think its his name, the guy who wrote Seven) and it actually is not bad and could look great with a great director (using Singer OR Nolan)

I hope it happens. But if it ever did then it should get a decent story :)

Not interested in seeing a world's finest, especially not anytime soon. If they decided to take a shot at it after both franchises have at least three films out I might be more open to seeing it.

It would be awesome if they made like 5 Superman movies, about 4 or 5 new Batman movies, a trilogy of Wonder Woman then they'd make a couple World's Finest movies then move on to a trilogy of Justice League movies.

Get the characters established before you team them up.

a good justice league movie seems like it would cost way too much to produce..

Yes, they definitely should make this film, but it should take place later in their careers. WB will end up making it because it's a cash cow waiting to happen if both of these characters end up in the same film.

Andrew Kevin Walker's script was pretty interesting how he played up how different these two character's are. I think it has the potential to be excellent, but we need the right professionals in place to pull it off.

I've been on the fence about this...

For some reason though, seeing this pic has made me think it could work.

It would all depend on how it was done, I think. There is plenty of leeway in choosing what kind of a story to execute, but the nice thing is that they wouldn't have to introduce every character if it was done after most of the major players already had their own franchise beforehand. And if I was choosing the team, it would pretty much feature the magnificent seven in the lineup. I'd also have them go against a Legion of Doom-type squad of villains. Or, they could lift any number of stories from the comics or JLU to build around. The biggest thing is that the characters would have to be written well and the story come first. I've seen films like LOTR that had two more characters on the protagonist side that fleshed the whole team out well enough to make you actually care about them (even if it did take three hours).

I say a definate NO to a versus movie, but a team up or Justice League movie would be amazing. A versus movie would be terrible, just like all other versus movies: Freddy vs. Jason, Alien vs. Predator. The plot would come off as nothing more than a cheap attempt to get these two to fight. Besides, they're heroes! they may not always disagree on the right course of action, but they'd have to reason to outright fight eachother! Not to mention one would eventually have to lose, which would upset fans of the losing character.

The best bet would be a JLA movie, but somewhere down the line. Get at least 3 new Batman and Superman movies, and at least one Wonder Woman, Flash, and Green Lantern movie. Then have a JLA movie starring the cast of all these movies, and introducing Aquaman and Martian Manhunter.

I really want the movie to happen and I hope it's the script that Walker made (if I seem to recall the one I saw an overview I personally really liked a lot because it had a lot of elements that intrested me. With that said, I know they are some parts that other people may hate from it but I loved it.)

Does anyone have a link to the script for the proposed Batman vs. Superman film.

Is the script that you're talking about, the one by Walker, the one where Batman's fiance dies and he goes on this revenge quest and Superman thinks he's out of control and tries to stop him?

as long as they just don't rush it to make money. they need a good strong script first. and they need to have finished the nolan Batman run etc.
and...it shouldn't be a vs. film, they should team up.

Yeah that's the one, and Clark heads back to Smallville. Now I know that may piss off a lot of fans but I personally was intriguied by it and it seemed from the review that there was a lot of action and intensity and included the basic traits of Superman and Batman (Detective mode Batman, Superman fighting a villan etc.). But I want to check out the script.

I voted no. Not that it would be boring....I just don't wanna hear the Batman fans bulls*itting about how much better than Superman he is. Thats part of the reason why I hate Batman. He's not the best superhero, he's overrated!

I would definately like to see a Superman Batman movie, I'm just not sure how it would play out on screen. Its hard to say. Maybe their worlds are too different to portray on screen. If done right though, it would certainly be a fantastic movie.
