I`ve seen in the X-men forum a thread that captures images from the comics that were translated to the big screen. Lets do the same with Superman Returns.
I`ll start with an obvious one:

For some reason I can't find the picture anywhere, but there is a picture of Kevin Spacey, as Lex, holding up a FOS crystal. Well, there was a similar image in Superman 650, the one I was talking about earlier, so if anyone wanted to scan the comic...I'm outta time, and gotta head to work. Sorry! :(

I thought you were referring to kryptonsite posting this blurb
Alex Ross: "I'm a little saddened that it won't turn out to be Tom Welling. They enjoyable factor of ['Smallville'] is the feeling that, 'Yeah, this guy's going to be Superman.' [At least] Brandon Routh looks better than any other guy that was previously considered for the role. I'm still hopeful it will turn out well, but I'm always afraid when you see a guy like Brandon Routh there's a sense of, 'How many pretty people can you put into one of these #$%* superhero things?' They don't all need to be pretty. Christopher Reeve was a pretty man, but now he seems like an absolute Charles Atlas he-man compared to this guy."
\S/JcDc\S/
04-04-2006, 01:43 AM
Although at the bottom they did "add" this comment to cover up the bias
For the record, the consensus overall was that an "unknown" actor was the way to go, and that everyone has faith in Bryan Singer... among those interviewed were Brad Meltzer, Jeph Loeb, Mark Waid, Greg Rucka, Brett Ratner and David Goyer, to name a few.

Wilde just tweaked it. It wasn't his design. I actually made the reference material using "Heromachine" Wilde touched up the rough edges and made it look much better.
So you don't think highly of the suit?

I'm not sure I see the relevance of this. I thought the point of this thread was to show images that were captured from the comics. I can see the Lois with the purple suit but this just looks like Lois from the comic books compared to a BTS pic of Bosworth as Lois. I don't see any connection or anything that would convince me this belongs here.

And you do realize that there is a world of difference between still shots from a movie and a full film, right? Sure, if you cut out the sound, use individual frames of one shot thereby eliminating the performance and cinematography of a sequence, movies are JUST like comic books. I mean, you just cut out everything that makes a movie a movie.

You can really see the difference in 'realism' in the pictures. Reeve doesn't really look like he's moving, but Routh does. Routh's hair and face actually look like they're being affected by wind/gravity and the cape accurately folds inward and away from the force of air. Good attention to detail.

You know I have no idea if this has been talked about. I didnt see anything. I don't know if this was actually planned out or just shear coincidence....but I find it almost genius that on June 28th Action Comics #840 comes out. This has Superman falling from the sky and returning to Power. Hence Superman is returning in the comics and film. Interesting.

OMG, the WB brainwashed Alex Ross too. Since when isn't Welling a pretty boy? All I can say to Ross is Welling isn't going to look like that Superman painting you did of him until he's like in his 40s.

All I can say to Ross is Welling isn't going to look like that Superman painting you did of him until he's like in his 40s.I don't think they had to brainwash anyone. Ross has been enamored with Welling in the lead role since he painted that TV guide spread a couple of years back. Ross is as fanboyish as anyone of the rest of us on these boards...the only difference being that he's a renowned painter. And as for Welling not looking like that until he's in his forties, you are so right it hurts.
