Personally I would really like to see Rhino in a future Spidey sequel. He would have to be a supporting character IMO, I don't think he's a strong enough character to carry a movie on his own. He would also be a good addition if the movie opened with a James Bond style fight that would have no impact on the remainder of the movie.

For a small part, Rhino doesn't need a very good actor to portray him, just a big guy. Although I normally am against the casting of wrestlers or bodybuilders for the sole purpose of their physical attributes, it would work fine for Rhino, so I'm going to suggest Brock Lesnar. You don't need much acting skill to fun into things headfirst, and Rhino has usually worked as someone ele's pawn so there's not much need for a backstory to explain his rivalry with spidey, just have him rob a bank or something.

Please post your opinions on casting etc.

Brock Lesner is too big for the role of Rhino. The guy to play Rhino doesn't have to be a Juggernaut type actor.

I've often thought an opening fight scene between Spidey and Rhino, right in the middle of Time's Square, would be a GREAT opening for a sequel!

I don't follow wrestling, but this Lesnar guy looks like he could handle the part.

Yeah I like your idea CP. I don't think Rhino could handle a whole movie being the only villain but it would be nice to see him have a cameo at the start perhaps working with Shocker :)

I think that the Raimi series should end after SM3. But a new director should take the franchise on for the next 3 movies. In other words, they'd still essentially be SM4,5 and 6, but new actors and a new director. That way, we don't need to waste any more time with back stories and origins, we can just continue from Spidey already aving his powers.

In that case, Rhino should appear after Raimi's turn is up. The new director could take a more "classic" style. And the Rhino should come up. They'd do it in Art Deco style and Spidey's costume would look more like the one from the comics, and the world would be something like Dikto or Romita designed it.

So do I. Rhino,Shocker,Mysterio,Scorpion and The Lizard could all make appearances! :D

I'd love to see Rhino as a side villain and I still say Ron Perlman could play him well.

Ron Perlman reminds me of the Spiderman Classic Rhino figure each time I see his face.

I'm stiil hoping to see Mysterio and Rhino in same film or if not Mysterio then have Scorpion and Rhino.

Ron Pearlman is a good choice for Rhino, but I like Brock Lesnar better. He is built like I imagine Rhino would be on screen.

like i said before (check the link in my post prior to this one) this guy is ideal for rhino....his name is nathan jones and he used to compete in the strong man competitions...he also wrestled in the wwe for a short period of time. You will also notice him as the towering brute that brad pitt kills with one swift stab in the beggining of the movie troy..i also forgott to mention that hes 6'10...340 lbs.

seeing this photo is depressing...ive been a huge fan of lesnar since he one the NCAA championship for wrestling...and through the wwe...and even his attempt at pro football with the vikings....but looking at this pic i just noticed how much smaller hes gotten,,,if u compare this photo to one with him while he was in wwe he looks way bigger prior....and the fact that he has to wrestlie in japan shows how rough of shape hes in.

I think Mickey Rourke would be a good Rhino, his voice matches the one in the 90s cartoon. Plus, he can act. If he looks too small, Sony can make him bigger with CG graphics.
What do you think?

Cyclops

You don't need to be able to act to be the Rhino. You need to be huge, muscular, and able to scream and be really stupid.

Doesn't require fine acting chops, it requires professional wrestler skills.

If he's just muscle, Nathan Jones would work well as Rhino. If Rhino is a bigger part, I'd say Andrew Bryniarski.

I think it'd be good to have rhino in a sequel for the opening scene like people have mentioned but you'd have to find a way to make a grown man in a gray suit with a horn on the head not look extremely silly

My vote is for Nathan Jones all the way. BTW imdb lists him at 6'11.5" and 360 pounds!

http://www.musclemayhem.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=43202

You get a better look at him in the first scene in Troy. Even though you cannot see his legs in this picture, the guy does have massive quads too. and that is very unusual in a guy of his height.

It is not just his physical attributes that make him perfect for the role, his face also just looks the part.

He would not need many speaking lines. Just smash and bash.

yeah thats coleman in contest shape, offseason he does not look as lean.

He would be good, but he is only 5'11".

I do not know how hard it is to change stuff like height, but I would think that a suit that even adds a little to Nathan Jones's already muscular physique combined with his height, and his facial features would also look cool.

Could you manip the Jones pic in the same way?
