Lets imagine Burton had finished his trilogy, lets speculate what his riddler would have been like, following on from his uber gothic designs for Joker

(scary, psychopathic, almost intentionlly "tacky")

(tragin, freakish, somehwta overly grand).
There are rumours Burton was going to hire Robin Williams or Brad Douriff and the the character would shave a question mark in his headm for instance.
so how do you think Burton would have done it?

Burton never approached Robin Williams for the Riddler. That was Schumacher.

from imdb:
According to a Playboy interview with Robin Williams, Jack Nicholson was offered the role of The Joker first. When Nicholson kept delaying his answer, Williams was offered the role. The producers immediately turned around and informed Nicholson that Williams was considering the offer, and Nicholson accepted. Williams has remained bitter about being "used as bait".
Robin Williams was approached for the role of the Riddler, but he refused to consider the role unless Warner Bros. apologized for its previous behavior in casting the Joker.

Never believe any trivia on the IMDb.
It is well known that Schumacher approached Williams, who changed his mind a number of times before turning it down.

yeah, Riddler would of been Robin Willaims...
ironically, moviehole.net is reporting that Williams who worked with Nolan, might be the Joker in Begins2.

I can't see Robin Williams as the Riddler. Then again I couldn't see Jim Carrey either.

I think Robin Williams would have been a very smart TAS type Riddler under Burton's direction.

This was a poster i made for some site before with my Batman 3 cast. I honestly think Billy Dee Williams would had made a great TwoFace under Burton's direction.
Williams, well just One Hour Photo or Insomnia....Riddler would have owned.

My Lando TwoFace was the best i could do, i think it looks good and what it probably would had looked like from Burton, real burns.
It looks like a box of ****e.

Damn Cass lol.....i thought it was ok, not a masterpiece by far, but better then some **** i've seen, where they just plop Billy's head on Tommy Lee's TwoFace and vice versa with Williams/Carrey.
But hey, not everyone is a fan lol.
And yes, i to wish Burton had completed his triology

i think that having since seen Ohe Hour Photo that Williams could have played The Riddler very well. he was so intensely disturbing and creepy in that film he could have lent himself to Burton's Bat-World very well.

http://www.geocities.com/burtonsbatman3/pics/poster12.jpg[/quote]I think he would've been great in a Burton Bat-movie. Darker, more serious, Robin can be serious in roles, and I think he would've done it right, not like Jim always hamming it up. And I remember hearing on some tv show or radio thing that Robin was gouing to be Riddler and then Jim got it, I was like, WTF?! I was so ticked off. Then Val was Batman, I was worried , then I saw it and wasn't happy, I like BF sometimes but it is so sad not to have seen Burton's part 3.

The Two-Face manip is ridiculous plus the scar on wrong side. The Riddler is ok and who the heck is Renee Russo supposed to be playing? I can see it is called Batman Forever but does that mean she is supposed to play that doctor girl?

She suppose to play Nicole Kidman's Dr Chase Meridrian but when Burton wasn't directing and Schumacher chose Kidman for the role age wise between Russo and Kilmer.

Oh ok. Did not know about that. When Batman Forever came out I was like 9 or 10 so I did not pay attention to those details.

You kdding me? Burton can nail those tortured tragic characters well. Not to mention Burton would of made TwoFace extra hideous lol, i think that scared WB people a little bit after The Penguin.
And many people just sway Billy Dee Williams away, saying he would of sucked. I honestly think with Burton directing him, he would of been pretty good. He's not a bad actor and just coming off Star Wars a few years back, he might of nailed this.
Billy was good with what he had to do role wise in "Batman" as Dent. He had the ladies man lawyer thing going, as well as being the frustrated D.A. with the Joker-Chemical crisis. He also really wanted to bust Boss Grissom, didnt he lol.

Tim Burton's Batman 3 would have been so good. Dare I even say, probably better than Batman Begins. But don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that i don't like Batman Begins...

the really question there is if burton finished this movies, and BF, B&R were never made would batman begins of been created. seeing how it was basicly a reboot for the franchie to recover from BF and B&R.

I kind of think that the Riddler that was seen on The Batman (kind of a Marilyn Manson influenced version) would've fit well enough in The Burtonverse version of Batman.

not a bad suggestion.
robin williams would have been an excellent riddler. he can play the nut case brilliantly. take one hour photo, insomnia and his role on law and order svu, for example. twisted but charismatic.

Batman Forever could of been a great film like B89 and BR without Burton.....If they would of went with the first script....And also have no Robin and just Batman taking on only Two-Face as a villian...Did not like Two-Face character though in BF...He should be all about having his own law and order on criminals...Him going after the mob with his own army would of been a better take on Face in the movie then see Batman as an obstacle and try and kill him.

I don't necessarily have much of a problem with the inclusion of Robin in Batman Forever because the Dick Grayson that was presented there served as sort of a younger reflection of the angrier, sadistic, revenge minded Bruce Wayne that Michael Keaton portrayed in the first two films. Dick's desire to get revenge against Two-Face for killing his family is reminecent of Bruce's desire to get revenge against Jack Napier/Joker in the first film.
I do agree that I would prefer having Two-Face to be sort of a Judge Dredd type character. The problem with Two-Face here (and the way that Tommy Lee Jones portrayed Harvey Dent) is that there's no real arc or depth behind the character. He's too much of a standard, over-the-top supervillain. Two-Face to me, should have some sort of redeaming qualities (he's essentially, a modern day Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde).
Fresh Prince
11-08-2009, 10:33 AM
Yeah Two-Face should of been Judge Dredd like....Doing his own law and order on criminals....He still could of killed Dick's parents, the evil side could of....Cause the evil side is a gangster, he does criminal like things.....Good side however does good things like sort of fight crime.....They could even have him forget the bad stuff he does when he becomes good and the good stuff he does when he becomes bad....Like how they did in BTAS.
