Now, I know many will pick Man of Steel. But I would rather all of you know or have read all of these at least for balance. I have read #800, and I thought it was great. If you want to know why, let me know.

For All Seasons is good too. I'm not a big fan of Man of Steel.

Man of Steel followed by For All Seasons. They perfectly summed up the Superman and his cast of supporting characters that I grew up reading.

I don't have a favorite. I love a lot of the different renditions told over the years in comics and film (the exception being Suckville on the the WB). I like certain aspects of each, so it's a very tough question.

I find Birthright to be much better than Man of Steel, as it raises both Kal-El's heritage and human upbringing, not making one better than the other like Man of Steel did.

The thing is, logically, his human upbringing would be more important to him. He never met Jor-El and Lara. He only barely lived on Krypton. His Kryptonian heritage is nothing but old recordings and a space ship. It's not tangible. I would understand that he would respect where he came from, but it would make more sense to me that Earth, the place where he actually lived and grew up, would be more important to him.

Exactely. IT only reafirms the statement and irony that Superman is the most human character ever but he`s not even human.

I love "For All Seasons" to death, but I actually had to vote for Action Comics #800. It's just one of the greatest single issues I've ever read, and the amount of stuff they crammed into it was awesome. It was a great, self-contained, tribute to Superman, so it had to get my vote...just felt like someone should give it a nod.

I notice now that it was neccessary at the time, but when i was young and i first read it, for example the woman with the dynamite on her chest who he flicks in the face, i always thought that was a very un0super thing to do!

Well, Supes may be somewhat ld fasioned, but he has enough sense not to hold back against a woman in combat any more than he needs to. If a woman's got a bomb, he knocks her out. If not, she and other people will die. And, while I may be wrong here, I've always felt that death is a good deal worse than getting punched in the face.
