Yeah that definitely happens in Void (I think). Wasnt there an interview somewhere stating that John was filming his second time coming back to the Show after death ? Maybe they got confused between his first time coming back & second time he comes back in Oracle ?

That sounds like a great plot. I was over at TWOP this morning and Craig said he thought this episode was going to better than the Finale.

If Lex gets injected then maybe he's the other LL that knows the secret.

Lionel is the vessel of Jor-El, that could be the reason why Brainiac or Zod wants him dead.

Super powered Lex, this will be a show to remember. Wonder what his powers are going to be?

Anyways, it's definitely Fine's doing. Jonathon would never tell Clark to murder another person, no matter what the cost. Remember the episode with the crooked cop? Jonathon's logic would never go to 'murder to silence.' This is Fine's doing- for what purpose remains unknown. Fine probably also has the result in Lex in mind. Thus, sending Clark to murder Lionell with a super powered Lex= some catastrophic results! Can't wait.... this may in fact be a two parter.

And glad to see that Jonathon is not dead and that the writers are continuing to think up ways to bring his character back into the show. Hope this continues. I can't say bye to Pa Kent forever.

I agree that it's not really Jonathan's ghost, just another mind-game orchestrated by Fine.

I wonder about Lex's motivations for developing a vaccine for the virus? Altruism? Naaah, but that's what he'll try to pass it off as most likely. Profit and self-promotion? Now that would make sense.

If the "shocking reaction" does indeed result in "Super-Lex" then I wonder how long the condition will last. I would think it would be temporary...
Maybe it's not that even. Lex's meteor-freak ability is a resistance to disease - so an injection of vaccine would maybe make him super-invincible? I'm intrigued by what they are going to do with this..

The first meteor shower enhanced Lex's immune system and made him able to survive or even be immune to any normal sickness or disease. And b/c the cancer he gets is from a green K rock, technically that wouldn't be considered "normal" and therefore it would be able to affect him.

Maybe Lex.. the head looks bald, but the hair might just be slicked back. The hands are kinda small-looking, which makes me think female, but maybe not. Certainly they aren't Clark-sized hands. :D

It also looks like Fine injects Lex with <probably> the super-virus in one of the pictures. So, perhaps it's Lex's super-meteor-rock immune system's hyper-reaction to the massive infection that leaves him with some sort of superpowers?

To be fair on Lex's side Lex is not really Lex its Zod in him. I HATE that fact. I love the idea of Lex getting Super Powers. But the fact that most of the damage Lex will do its really Zod & not Lex & Clark should not hate Lex for it because Lex is not in full control of himself. Zod in Lex is like Clark & Red K Clark. Clark will end up hating Lex for things Lex never had full control what he ends up doing. Which sucks. If Lex becomes Zod that ruins it for me. Id rather them become Enemies on their own. But knowing Clark when all is said & done he wont give a damn that Lex was being controlled by Zod. Yet Clark would expect People to give a damn when after he comes back to normal from being under the influence of Red K. Lionel has Jor El in him & in the end all Jor El wants to do is protect his son & keep his identity safe. Lex becoming Zod just totally ruins things for me in terms of Clark & Lex becoming Enemies.

- All the Lex and Fine stuff was incredible. Those two trying to one up one another brings back so many good memories from the comics. I cant wait to find out what the heck that "vaccine" actually did to Lex.

- I really like how they're moving the Clark and Lois thing forward. BTW what was that "magic"-esque sounding music they played in that loft scene? Anyone else get pissed off at Chloe when she barged in with the birthday cake? I was like "NO! You're "C" blocking Clark... AGAIN!!"

- Finally good to get an explanation to most of what's been going on with Lionel.

- A lot of good tie ins with Reckoning and loose ends that got tied up. Also glad to see it wasnt really Jonathan come back from the dead.

Wasnt really much that I didn't like in this one, other than the weekly Chloe computer gymnastics. No FOTW's was a bonus as well.

I did think it was bull**** to have Lois feed Clark that line with the analogy anvil of Lana being a "bike" and Lois being a "Harley." Cheap shot. I'll use Zing's wonderful line from the other thread.. You don't have to tear down one to build up the other.

I thought Tom was OTT incredible in this ep. From the scenes with Faux-Jonathan, to his scene with Lana, to his scene with Lois. I think this was one of Tom's very best episodes.

Something funny though.. In SV, Clark said the line, "You aren't my father." Then, in Supernatural right afterward, Dean (formerly Jason) said the EXACT SAME LINE.."You aren't my father." And both were correct too.

Great episode. 5/5. Not just because it moved the story forward, but because, from a writing point of view, all the episode plots and subplots flowed together nicely.

The Pros

- Looks like its possible that Lois and Clark could possibly get together in the present; in Smallville....maybe next season. I guess that would add a new unique twist to the Lois/Clark thing, something that hasnt been done before. Im curious to see how it all plays out.

- Brainiac and his master plan. Im starting to seriously believe that the Black Ship itself is the Brainiac computer and the Fine clones are vessels that carry out its work.

- Lex/Lana. Its real and now shes totally sucked into his world. No turning back now. Could she be a new nemesis to the good guys as she stands by Lex's side? It was great to hear her say that she wants to stop talking about Clana, I hope she finally means it.

- Lex's conversion with Clark and his threat to Clark to stay out of his business. Its about time Lex stopped trying to be Clark's friend and made some kind of stand.

- "Zod is coming" and hopefully we actually get to see Zod.

The Cons

- Clark unable to make the connection that Lionel is linked to Jor-El. Did he forget the events of Hidden? Jor-El basically told him he can inhabit Lionel's body. Im surprised that wasnt referenced in this episode.

The Weird

- Was Lionel supposed to have been 'good' in Reckoning in that barn confrontation scene? Watching it over...it doesnt seem that way. The way he mentions 'partnership' etc...he seems like the old regular corrupt Lionel, not the saint hes trying to be now.

- Who really sent that blackmail picture to Martha? And if it was Lionel...what was the motivation behind it?

- Was Clark really speaking to Jonathan's ghost in Void or was that also Brainiac? Jonathan in Void said that Lionel Luthor knows Clark's secret and implied he was a threat and Martha needed to be protected.... Was that the real ghost of Jonathan or Brainiac setting up his plan?

I hope alot of this is explained in the finale. It didnt take away from the episode though since they couldnt have explained everything in it...just yet.

Wasnt really much that I didn't like in this one, other than the weekly Chloe computer gymnastics. No FOTW's was a bonus as well.

Did you hear her after she spouted off how she disarmed the alarm at Lionel's office? She made a face and said I've got to get a night life.

I thought it was funny anyway. I really liked the flow of this one and I loved evil Jonathan.

Something funny though.. In SV, Clark said the line, "You aren't my father." Then, in Supernatural right afterward, Dean (formerly Jason) said the EXACT SAME LINE.."You aren't my father." And both were correct too.

Did you notice the eyes.....the way they lit Jonathan he looked posessed too.

The heat vision is a lot redder than usual, it looks pretty cool.

This episode was much better than the last few, I was starting to get really bored with the story in the show. I am glad Clark is bonding with Lois a lot more and the scene with Lionel and Fine was awesome. This the first episode to actually have me on the edge of my seat interested in a long time.

Well, I certainly don't think Clark is "dumb," but I have to admit, this is the first time episode that I got a little frustrated with Clark being schooled in life by Chloe.. again. Do we need her to remind him about the important lessons his dad taught him?

I know she's his good friend, but I want to see Clark come to some of these realizations himself, and to hear him express them.

Most of my problem comes with Clark not realizing Lionel is in contact with Jor-El. I mean after Hidden and now this, it should be rather simple.
