Hulk ride saves woman from tumour
A woman who has undergone surgery to remove a brain tumour believes a roller coaster ride may have saved her life.
Sally Dare, from Tewkesbury, Gloucs, was on a family holiday in Florida when she went on the ride called The Incredible Hulk.
Afterwards she had headaches and blurred vision. Doctors scanned her brain and found the cause.
They said the shuddering and jolting of the ride probably dislodged the tumour, leading to its early detection.
"I could still be walking around for another year or two still sort of not knowing so, if it did dislodge while banging about on the roller coaster and they caught early then maybe it's a good thing," she said.
When the doctors removed the tumour it was only 2cm in diameter.
They believe the tumour was relatively small because it was discovered early.
