Kitty Pryde.....Just Becuse.

I really like UXM's Kitty. I've always liked Shadowcat, but the UXM one is so hyper cute that I can't see straight. Post pics of her and discuss the character.

I was cheated out of USM#91, because my comic book store is really bad with the whole...you know...being a comic book store...thing. Yeah. So I never got that issue where they work together. Spidey and Kitty is like a dream couple. And because Peter is a kid in USM, it feels a lot more natural than if they were to try to hook 616 Peter up with someone.

Besides, in the USM world, Peter dating a mutant(especially an x-man) seems realistic for him. With mutant hatred going around, and his self-questioning ways, I could understand him feeling a bond with the x-men. If his true identity were ever revealed by the 20-some people who know who he is, then his life would be similar to what the x-men have to deal with. He'd probablly even have to move into the X-mansion because of mutant haters and protestors harrasing Aunt May or MJ about him.

At his age, he'd be worrying about a girlfriend who can't defend herself. It would be just another hastle, another problem. But with Kitty, not only can she deal with problems by herself, but she has the X-men to defend her. So it's exactly like he said.

I hope they don't break up after the Deadpool arc. Because it seems like Bendis is heading that way. Bendis might have Peter say "I'm sorry but being with you is just TOO much of an adventure. I was stressed with MJ but was never HUNTED!" or something. But these things only help to make him stronger.

One such character was the dragon "Lockheed", who was based on the modified SR-71 Blackbird jet aircraft used by the team. The name originates from the Lockheed Corporation, makers of the Blackbird.

Not long after, the X-Men were kidnapped into outer space by the alien Brood. Inside the Brood starship, Kitty discovered an extra-terrestrial dragon who resembled the creature from her fairy tale except that he was the size of a cat. He saved her from the Brood and then departed with her, leaving behind his fiancée who he was due to wed the following day. She tried to hide his presence from Professor X and her teammates but he was revealed back on Earth when he again saved her life, this time from a nest of alien Sidrian hunter hatchlings. During the Secret Wars miniseries, the X-Men including Lockheed were transported to an alien planet, where Lockheed met a female alien dragon. This second dragon accompanied Lockheed and his allies to Earth, but she grew to gigantic size upon arrival, rampaged across Tokyo and was apparently killed, though the dragon has resurfaced recently. In addition to serving alongside Kitty with the X-Men, he joined her when she founded the British superhero team Excalibur.

An alternate reality's counterpart of Lockheed served as Excalibur's means as interdimensional transport during the "Cross-Time Caper" storyline; this larger, female Lockheed eventually departed with Excalibur's sometime foes, the Technet after having mated with their member Numbers and giving birth to his children. Lockheed made few appearances following the departure of writer/artist Alan Davis from the Excalibur series; later issues suggested that he had simply gone into hiding and had stayed away because he disapproved of Kitty's then-boyfriend, Pete Wisdom, though he did once save Wisdom's life. True. But the writers were not intending to cast that vibe. When the character was created and then passed down to different writers, even writers who don't agree with other writers (like that claremont guy who like kept changing her age back and ignoring the other writers)..I highly doubt they said "Make her seem like a girl who pretends to be innocent but it a ****."

It just seems as if you're looking for that idea to be true. No offense to you, you probablly know more about X-men than I do. (I'm more a spidey fan). But from what I've seen of Kitty I think it's obvious that she's supposed to be what she is.

The kind of "hidden naughty/kinky side" is something that hentai artist and writers are known for. Not mainstream fans and stuff. Like, if you like Kitty or something and you're the kind of person who gets turned on by degrading her with names like "****" or "whore", then that's one thing. But the character is not and really has never been shown to be.


People are always more than the masks they wear in public. People. Comic book characters are but characters. Their personalities and such are supposed to be given. We know who Spidey is, that's how come he is a great character. That's how come fans can tell when Marvel and Joe Q or writers are abusing the character, because we know how is like and if he acts differently then we know he's not himself. We know that it's "out of character" for him.

If you mean to suggest that the 20 years or so that Kitty has been around, she's been an in-the-closet ****, then I would have to say that she's a horrible character. Horribly written. Because I never knew that.

Personally, I haven't read enough of her character to make a decision one way or another. But since it is something that is "private" even to a fictional character, if people see it different ways, I don't care.

Same thing with Logan. I personally think he is a very emotional man and for the most part has honestly loved any woman he ever claimed to. Some people on these boards, however, think he's just a straight up man whore. Just different ways of looking at the same character and, imo, it doesn't drastically change the character (as much as him suddenly becoming homosexual or sprouting wings would). Such presumptions should not be made. Youre trying to relate the way we talk about fictional women to real women. Its not the case at all. One of the reasons were able to talk about women of ficition like this is because there are no reprecussions. If we called Emma Frost a whore would you get mad? You talk about lustful desires but when someone comes to the defense of a character over a throwaway comment like shes a whore, thats unhealthy obsession. The fact is, ShadowBoxing made a joke, thats it all it was, and we played along. We only took it seriously when you got all riled up about it. About racial jokes, I dont really make them myself but if I think theyre funny ill laugh and say how messed up they are. Especially with someone who was in Wisdoms case. Usually I find the older boyfriends of HS girls are kind of losers, not high ranking agents on a super team....also Kitty Pryde's a bit naive at times, so yeah Nightcrawler and Logan ought to have been smacking Wisdom around.

Well, Carey is a good writer but the team line-up is going to include Mystique and Sabretooth. Personally I think having them on the team is an odd and potentially bad choice. And Bachalo is going to be drawing it. I can't speak for everybody but I think his art is pretty bad. He used to have an interesting style but now it just looks like a mess.
